It was a good stay over all but this is NOT a four star Hotel as advertised, And I think it was overpriced......... we stayed there for a week and they never changed the bed sheets or vacum the carpet, the Hotel personnel was very helpful.............Is a good location, the metro is just a block away and you can go any were on it and it appears to be safe.

Close to sights, Ubahn, Tram, and good restaurants. Staff are friendly, and informative. Breakfast has good selection of both hot & cold food. Rooms are clean and soundproof. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a shame as the overall cleanliness of hotel was fine, but there was an annex separate to the main hotel, which was a make shift hotel in which we were allocated rooms. It was obvious they let long stay students stay in this part which does not make for a quiet nights sleep. Loud music and knocking on our door kept us awake most the night and it was quite intimidating walking through crowds of teenagers hanging out on the stairwell late at night to access the room. Staff did not deal with the complaint. Would not recommend at all. Very disappointing. 4* rating was a joke.

Hotel was very good, good room, clean and in a good location about 10 minute walk to the city centre. Breakfast was not good, so get a bagel from the shop around the corner!

no location centrally, but only one train stop away or walk a few blocks and you're around all the action. For a long stay it was worth saving the money from stay right in the middle of central. The rooms were great and came with free breakfast.

i stay in this hotel 2 days, it was far from city center unlike what written in hotle.com discreption, break fast is normal no thing to show, however all the rooms was seperated by thin sealing and any sound in the other rooms will fall directely in your ears!, there is now sound sealing installed inbetween the walls, this hotel is definetly 2 star NOT 4 star!!, if you want to have cheap price but nothing else, then this is your hotel !!!

Nice friendly staff, clean hotel and excellent location for subway and access to local transport links. Good selection at breakfast, with lovely restaurant staff. Staff at front desk were a bit hit-and-miss, but overall friendly. Stressful checkout due to miscommunication in the early hours of the morning. Vienna itself? Once you found how to get to subway station, easy to use transport, but both myself and a colleague took a while to find the subway when coming from airport! (by train and bus respectively)

I am not quite sure why this is rated as a four star hotel. Decor was a little dated. Elevators are quite slow, but OK. Breakfast was good in a more European type. Personnel was all good and the location in good. A couple of issues. Number one: NO AIR CONDITIONING! Do four star hotels really not have AC in Europe? At least have a ceiling fan, or at a minimum, an occillating fan in the room. Weather wasn't too bad, but even so, the room got real hot. I can't imaging staying here during hot summer weather. The other issue is the noise that echos through the courtyard of anyone, and everyone who enters the hotel. Compounded with this, is that you have to have the window open at night in order to get any kind of air movement in the room. But, I still enjoyed Vienna, and all else was fine. But if you think you are getting a four star for the price of a three here, you are not.

Disappointing overall, air conditioning available with a E9 upgrade only. Staff friendly cleaner excellent. Dining room dated & squashed , breakfast adequet but food left uncovered, juices very watery, no toast-breakfast staff helpful & friendly.Hotel situated in courtyard behind beautiful origional building but main hotel characterless. Spacious bedroon but cheap laminate flooring offputting. Excellent bathroom

We like our stay in this hotel, it closed to all must-see sights. The breakfast was excellent!

The hotel was a good hotel and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Although not centrally located in Vienna, it was very close to a subway stop and you could be in the heart of Vienna in a matter of minutes. Although the neighbourhood was good, there was not a lot to see in the immediate vicinity. While we were there, however, they had a food festival by the station with lots of restaurants offering food right along the riverbank.

No air con and windows which couldn't open easily due to size = poor nights sleep. Breakfast room was cramped for size of hotel. Charging for wifi in this day and age. Would not visit again.

Super location with easy access to the U-Bahn. Super room and facilities. The breakfast area was rather frantic at times, no, most of the time. Many people trying to use a small space, with long lines at times. The service did the best they could! But we would definitely come back.

This is not a 4-Star hotel for sure. You have to pay extra for breakfast, internet, bar, all those little things that come out at the end very heavy. The location was good, staff was helpful. I would not return there in the near 2 years. It's being renovated now and I had to deal with immense noise from the upper floor. No conditioner in the room. The summer is very hot and no conditioner makes it a lot worse. It's a steady 3-star hotel.

Chosen for the location (few steps from underground, even center was reachable on foot). To be improved in the room 1) Lightening - energy saving bulbs are not effective, in bathroom in particular- 2) No air conditioning -which was bad in the hottest summer days of July-. Good breakfast and courtesy of personnel are positive points.

Room was not perfect ready when we received the key. Breakfast was rich and fresh every morning. Easy access to U-Train and City-Bikes. Hotel can not get 4 starts and not offering an air-conditiom

On arrival young woman on front desk not helpful and actually sighed when I asked for a room change to an upper floor. The internet access was primitive: we paid a set amt for a specific time period and were taken by a staff person to someone's office to use their computer. It was dial up so ate up a lot of time just getting booted up. We like checking email daily but found this system too cumbersome and only did it once. There was no coffee maker or kettle and luckily I had my own small travel element. The last morning I went to make coffee and it was gone. I thought it was stolen by the maid. I went to the front desk to report the theft and the staff had it. I was told it's their policy not to allow these devices. I told them I was angry that I had not been informed that it was taken and the man said he had called the room but there was no answer. Anyway, a few things added up to a less than enjoyable stay there.

Good location. Hotel divided between 2 buildings, we were in older building and unfortunately sharing the building with some very noisy students. Room had high ceiling but no air con. Room fairly sparse but clean and adequate. Staff not overly accessible or helpful. Breakfast satisfactory.

Ours was a full apartment with fully-equipped kitchen and large living room; fully and recently redone with large bathtub and wood floors. Was only about two blocks from train station. Was perfectly clean. Could have stayed weeks, but was only in town one night.

Traveling with two adult daughters we found the the sleeping room/kitchen arrangement at the Deutschmeister spacious and accommodating. On the top floor of the older building, it proved to be well ventilated but warm given the 80 degree temperatures in Vienna. Location is good given the price, two minute walk to the U-Bahn, less than five minutes to the tram, and about 15 minutes into Stephanplatz made getting around the city very easy. Hotel also had parking at a reasonable rate, whereas fifteen euro for a wireless code seemed a bit excessive. Also don't judge the hotel by the block it occupies, there are a number of good restaurants and shops about two blocks away. Would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast, good area, and a stone's throw from the green line. Very pleased with the hotel and would deffinately stay there again.

very nice time plenty of support from the staff most helpful organising our transportation and good knowledge. visit to spanish riding school such a delight . would definatly return. :)

Room and toilet is good

Hotel is very close to metro station. Got a nice big apartment for the price of a hotel room. Standard breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Extremely close to the Freud's museum.

Great location, nice neighbourhood & a very pleasant stay. We were there in winter so not bothered by the noise of other guests arriving though the courtyard but I can see in summer it would be an issue. Two rooms on every floor face the back, see if you can get those. Breakfast was a great deal, and the desk clerks were extremely helpful.

Our room was not that impressive. it was like an apartment that was changed to a hotel. It was still comfortable, but maybe it's a vienna's thing that make it expensive. Breakfast was okay (nothing special). Staff were good & helpful. Location is also fine, close ot the Metro & also to the city center. OUr beds were also okay... overall it's an okay place!

Great price, lovely bathroom, satisfying breakfast, just few meters from metro station.

We were surprised when we checked in to find that we had actually reserved an apartment, and it was huge, by European standards. It was a one bedroom with a large living space and rather large kitchen and bathroom. The hotel room had zero view, but that was not important to us, because it opened on to a courtyard, which meant it was very quiet. The apartment was very clean, and the staff was helpful. It was not really near the city center, but he subway stop was only a block away, so there were no issues with location.

Liked everything about the hotel other than the neighborhood. Dont get me wrong, its perfect if you dont like to be in the middle of the city centre. Its a 3 minute walk from the metro (extremely convenient) and takes 5 minutes to go the centre from there with the train coming every 5 minutes. But if you like to be able to walk out of the hotel to see some live action, then get a place closer to Stephansplatz. On all other things, the hotel was quite good.

Close to public transportation, safe neighborhood

We very much liked the location of our hotel. Barely a 4 minute walk and you're in the Vienesse underground, which is so reliable you'll be in your destination in no time. The hotel has very conveniently sold us the Vienna card which took us everywhere. Much as I liked the hotel's location, I hated my first night there a Saturday. Our room faced the courtyard and hotel guests coming back late at night were soooooo noisy. There was no aircon and we had to keep the windows open so I could hear every word and every footstep that they were making. Also, the bedroom has very thin walls, I could hear people next door, opening closets etc. Hotel staff were helpful and could speak good English. Breakfast was like any typical continental fare. The beds were two single beds pushed together but were comfortable enough. The bathroom and toilet were substantial. Internet connection is not free.

Convenient location, close to subway. Room is clean (just a pity that there is no air-conditioning). Good spread of breakfast.

Fine place in a lively, interesting, non touristy neighborhood

Conveniently located next to a metro station. My room was huge (and included a kitchen) so I suspect I must have been upgraded somehow. Only inconvenience was that wifi didn't reach most parts of the room. Breakfast buffet was standard but minimal. Overall, nice hotel.

The Hotel Deutschmeister is a great value in Vienna. With breakfast included, there is no better value to be found with such a good location. The staff is entirely pleasant; the restaurant offers a nice breakfast to start your day. The location is perfect; within 2 minutes of the subway in a safe area within 15 minutes walk to the City Centre. Overall: A great place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The subway was only a block away which was very convenient. Our room was on the first floor right above the kitchen, so when the kitchen is ready to fix breakfast we didn't need an alarm clock. We left our windows open because the room would get warm, so then we would hear the kitchen start us every morning. Wifi didn't seem to be working while we were there but most restaurants had it so it was not a problem. Breakfast was very good. We had a very modern bathroom which was quite nice. Our room was very large and over looked a small garden where people could sit with a drink in the evening. We had a kind of funky green coach, it was comfortable, just a little strangely shaped. There was a safe in the closet, so we really had everything we needed. For the price it was a perfect fit for us. The main thing was having the subway so close. We traveled from Budapest by train. There was a information office at the train station where we got maps and I bought a 3 day subway pass. My 14 year old grandson could travel the subways free! So we took advantage of the subway to go everywhere. We loved our stay in Vienna and would definitely stay here again. The staff was helpful the few times we had questions. They even directed us to a movie theatre in English so we could see the new Harry Potter film.

This was a great hotel! The staff was super nice, even letting us use a fan and clothes rack. The location is right outside the central part of the city, accessible to the subway. It is on a quiet street and set back from the road. The surrounding neighborhood is wonderful with lots of shops and restaurants.

This hotel WOULD have been acceptable but... it did NOT have air conditioning and in late July it was HOT! Many hotels in Europe do not have air conditioning and I should have double checked before booking this hotel. They did provide us with a fan but... we would not stay at this hotel or recommend it if you are visiting in the summer. The staff was very helpful and courteous, the room itself was fine, and the services, including breakfast were very good. VERY easy access to the train to reach city sites so the hotel would be a great "find" if you are not booking in the summer.

This is a very nice boutique hotel, close to public transport and easy walking for Veinna attractions.

Although not in city center very close to train station. Used Vienna ticket so transport costs were not an issue.In University area and close to shops of all types. Our room had kitchen facilities which was an extra bonus, also separate lounge area and bedroom which was great when staying for several days. Breakfast good start for the day.terrific value for money.
