Padre South Hotel On The Beach - ساوث بادري أيلاند

The hotel was pretty much as I expected from the Hotels.com description with one significant exception--there was no coffee maker in the room. I asked for one at the front desk, and the young man said he would have one sent up. Later he told me there was nobody with a key who could get me one, and, "You'll just have to come down here in the morning at 6 to get your coffee." No apology. That is really disappointing. I don't plan to stay there again.

Nice location, VERY friendly, courteous, helpful staff. I will stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean upon arrival,bathroom was very neat and clean,tub and shower were neat and clean,refrigerator and stove were very clean and the A/C stayed very cold and comfortable. The entire staff was very helpful but there was one rude desk worker, a young Mexican man who was rude to my wife and grandson because my grandson was amazed with his motorcycle and just touched it. He came out when he saw that and told her NOT to let him do that again. We apologized but he should have been a bit more understanding since our Grandson is only 2 years old. Othet then that, we will book again at this hotel when we go back to SPI.

Very comfortable. Great location.

You get what you pay for. If budget is low this is the place to stay. But be prepared to do without the extras, like free breakfast, kids stay free, flat screen HD t.v. Spacious bathroom, balcony furniture, etc it's plane & simple at Padre South.

My famliy and I had a great time the view from the balcony always gets us love to see the sunset at the beach and also sun rise the water was cold in the pool but other then that had a great time in the hot tub area .

The rates are very good for the size of the room and the location. Don't expect much more. I have stayed here a couple of times and it is enjoyable. The rooms need renovation but if you are there to enjoy the beach, restaurants and bars more than staying in the room, then this is your hotel.

The place is run-down and looks like a basement after a big party. The pool table was out of order. The coffee for breakfast offered no milk or sugar. The toilet clogged up (disgusting). The place is just all round beat up and doesn't rate top dollar.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times but the last two times we have had very bad customer service. Most of the front desk people treat you like you are a pain to them. This is really to bad because we liked this hotel. The price was good but I would rather pay more and be treated with respect

It was nice and affordable for the location and easy beach access.

On the second night a storm rolled through, high winds and some heavy rain. I went to move my motorcycle somewhere safer so it would get knocked over and the clerk at the desk told me i could park next to main entrance. Thar suprised me and will make me a return customer. Beach access was great, hot tub was perfect.

Old Hotel, need a Paint, good location, small Pool, quiet, good service.. Good Hotel for The Price...

This place has so many memories as a kid growing up my dad has a time share here. I took my family last wk & was not to pleased the beds were horrible like sleeping on rocks. Also Managment was very poor but was a good cheap place for the location.

THE HOTEL NEEDS TO BE MODERNIZED AND THE ROOMS NEED TO BE UPDATED WITH NEW APPLIANCES, THE MATTRESS,CARPERT,COUNTERS,TOILET SEATS,TUBS AND TV NEED TO BE REPLACED, THE ROOMS SMELL MUGGY AND OLD, THE ONLY GOOD THINK ABOUT IT WAS THE BEACH ACCESS. THE NEXT TIME WE RENT WE WOULD RATHER STAY AT A MORE UPDATED HOTEL EVEN IF WE HAVE TO PAY THE EXTRA CASH.

While this location has a fabulous location on the beach and we had a great view of both the bay and the beach, it is a little outdated. Older furniture, a tube tv, and a complete kitchen was a nice touch even if a little on the older side it provided fridge, sink, small stove, microwave, and we were able to eat a few meals in the room. There were a few beer cans floating in the pool. Staff was nice but did not offer us any info beyond giving us our room key. Over all it was a nice stay.

Location is great, walking distance to beach and some stores & restaurants. Front desk staff not the friendliest. Room was large but was run down. AC vents falling off, sliding doors difficult to open, accordion door broken in half and falling of hinges, bedroom lamp thingy holding the bulb was coming off wires sticking out, very dangerous & saw mold on the brick wall in the bedroom with the twin beds, the extra blanket in the closet stunk of urine, it was disgusting. Stove and full size refrigerator was very convenient. Price was ok. It's an older hotel so it's run down. I guess it's difficult to keep up with all the humidity and moisture in the air.

Great location. Right on the beach. Has its own pool and hot tub but I did not use them. Rooms were spacious. Had full kitchen. Suppose people like to stay here for extended periods of time. Great for long vacations so you can cook your own meals. No microwave, however. We came during sprig break so there was a $250 refundable cash deposit and $15 security wrist band. Neither were stated on the booking page so came as a bit of a surprise. Other than that it was a good place. Slightly out dated but not uncomfortable. Liked having a balcony view of the island.

Place was good for short stay but has a good kitchen to cook, close to beach and room was clean.

I had a great time at the hotel. The service was great. The location was close to all the islands ammenities.

The room was nice and spacious but the beds were really uncomfortable. Definitely take your own towels for makeup ladies because they tried to charge me for two towels with sand on them thinking it was makeup. They are very strict about wristbands during Spring Break. The location is wonderful, however, it was walking distance from Coca Cola beach. For the amount of money we paid, the staff should have been more polite.

the hotel was very not clean. The room was not clean it smelled bad and we would never recommend the hotel or stay there again.

Great hotel by the beach, price was great and location was great as well - we will come back to this hotel.

This is an old hotel situated right on the beach. The hotel personel were very nice; check-in was a breeze. The hotel is rather old and not in the best shape. The room has a full refrigerator and stove but no coffee pot. The staff has a coffee island downstairs that opens at 6 AM. There is a lounge area with adequate seating and a big screen TV. I enjoyed sitting, drinking my coffee and visiting with the other hotel occupants. We went in the off season and the rate we paid was quite good. Most of the occupants were long term guests for the winter. They have special monthly rates for the "Winter Texans". I might actually do this myself one day. All in all, I would stay here again. Just don't expect an upscale hotel.

Will NEVER recommend this place! Horrible service by their manager "Liza" the place STINKS like they NEVER clean carpets and the rooms need more upkeeping and remodeling! I've visited many places at Padre Island before and stayed at cheaper places than this one but the service in all those other places has been EXCELLENT!!!.. "Liza" was being very rude and racist! NEVER AGAIN will I stay much less recommend this place! as a matter of fact I have over 2000 freinds on Facebook and I let EVERYONE know about "Padre South Hotel" BAAD EXPERIENCE!!

Great place to stay-good location right on the beach, close to restaurants. Room was great,balcony with ocean view. We would recommend it and will definately stay there again

Excellent location, clean & staff quick to fix any problems with room,eg TV Recommend this hotel for price & convenient location on the beach.

Here is the plus for from my prospective. (1) great location, easy access to pool that leads to the beach. (2) CVS and other retails near by The negative is (3) okay view to the beach from our room (sideways) (1) the a/c was not working when we turned it on. You would think to check everything for the customer. When I called it in they were prompt and had it fixed but it took a while. (2) the sleeper sofa is very noisy, uncomfortable and mattress needs replacement. Overall the hotel is okay and chances are might stay again if nothing else available.

pros: option of kitchenette available partial view of ocean from most of the rooms close to CVS not very expensive location hot water jacuzzi cons: popcorn ceiling and wall makes it feel unclean carpet not very clean

This hotel has a great location and is reasonably priced. No-they don't offer a free breakfast, nor is any dining on site. However; they do have a toaster and a weird little stove should you feel inclined to cook your own breakfast! So, pick up a loaf of bread or some bagels and put fresh fruit in the full sized fridge along with your juice and your set! I requested a room on the 8th floor facing south-great veiw! The staff were very helpful in recommending good places to eat on the island as well. I will definitly stay here again!

Padre South is a reasonably priced place to stay for a few days and save on the food budget. The kitchenette helps but needs some work. Only one burner on the stove works. Oven is ok. Full size fridge is more than enough. The dishwasher is out of order and should just be replaced with shelf space. The water wasn't hot enough most of the time-really it was just warm. Mattresses aren't too comfortable, but this is a budget hotel. Beach access is as good as in the most expensive hotels, and there's a CVS Pharmacy one block away if you need snacks, toiletries, etc. Just about everything in the hotel needs updating, but it's ok as it is for the price.

Did not get the right place for the money spent**** Worst hotel ever I stayed!

I believe it was a nice place to stay. The night was very cold outside. But the hotel was comfortable inside and I had a nice view to the ocean.

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend at the Island. This was our third time to stay at this hotel. We enjoy the direct beach access from the hotel. This time we requested a room on the eighth floor on the south side of the hotel, and the view was amazing! We could see the beach and sunrise on the left side of the Island and the bay, bridge, and sunset on the right side of the Island! The kitchenettes are great. The only downside is that there is no continental breakfast provided - not even coffee in the rooms. We just bring our own coffee and condiments and enjoy our great view! We recommend this hotel to all our friends.

We stayed in one of the two bedroom suites with a party of five and found it met our needs nicely. The one bedroom without a window was a bit disconcerting, but it did have its own bathroom which was nice. The price was definitely right, the room was clean and all appliances worked great. We'll be back.

Love to stay here most of the time came last week and we decided to come again this week we just love the view of the beach and the hot tub got to go in this time it was fun, love the service and that all resturants are near by.

Loved it, it was awesome!

I enjoyed my stay. The reception clerks were nice and helpful. Located along the beach and well maintained.
