Room was clean and neat only real complaint was the shower no pan so made for a wet floor in the bathroom. If you are use to a european room will seem large if you are use to a north american room on the small size. Booked the standard queen but ended up in a queen/single. Good for the weekend trip and less then a 10 min walk to waterfront. Would stay again for a short trip. Parking was tight arrived friday around 3 got the last space underground and if I had to guess less than 40 spots.

The street downstair was noisy, however, u still have to open the window for fresh air coming in. Also, the shower temperature is uneasy to adjust, it is either boiling or cold.

Stayed here last week for 7-nights in an Express Twin Room (801), which I shared with my brother. The room was TINY and the shower/bathroom was very small. Water pressure in the shower was weak and it was very difficult to get the water temperature right. Also, because the shower cubicle space is so small, you are constantly getting wrapped up in the shower curtain. I'm not even big or fat - 6ft2 male of average build! Toilet was so close to the wall you could not sit on it properly but sideways!! My biggest gripe with this hotel (and I have stayed here twice now) is the noise. It is VERY NOISY!! The noise from the street and traffic is very intrusive. However, it's nothing compared to the noise from other guests. Paper thin walls and doors that smash shut wake you up all night (and I'm a heavy sleeper). You could hear other guests 3-4 doors down from you... On a positive note, there is free (limited) on-site parking and the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Hobart's shopping district or Slamanca Place. Would I stay here again? Only if there was nothing else available would I stay again. The noise factor has turned me off...

Noisy location on a busy street. Shower head broken . Breakfast only average. Free internet now . Can walk to harbour.

Hotel clean and comfortable. No airconditioning so not greatest during hot weather. Parking limited.

Good location, reasonable price. In term of room, small but then it is in the city, so nothing much to complain.

This hotel was OK for a two night stay - convenient position and spotlessly clean, the staff always pleasant and helpful. Maintenance was poor - wobbly fittings in the bathroom, an extension cable that was too short (just not enough sockets) and an ironing board that required a degree in engineering to open up. NO full length mirror and ONE coat hanger is just not acceptable. It just requires a little thought to get a higher rating.

The room, location and staff were all good. However, it was over 35 degrees both days I stayed there and the window opened less that 4 inches and the fan had no chance of cooling the room

The room was very small than I expected. But it's convenience (carpark and easy to find). Also, the room is clean but a bit noise when open the window.

The hotel was very clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel and the rates were extremely favourable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Hobart.

OK hotel once I got in! Had a redeye flight from Perth to Hobart and couldnt get into the room until 2pm. The attitude of the staff member wasn't at all good. Room was fine once in there. Dont book at this hotel if you think you can check in early................

Found hotel to be good but my main difficulty was with parking.All okay if you arived early and secured a parking spot but if you decided to go out during the day and especially at night quite possible you came back to no parking available,also parking spaces very small.Other wise every thing was good especially breakfast.

my 2 children stayed in your hotel frm 7to10 Dec. on the day of checking-in, our son has reqsted for late check-out on 10 Dec as their flt was at 5.35pm. The reception insisted on NO late checkout, & at 10am they hv to move out !! u could hv at least accord till 12noon, considering that they are going back again to Hobart in March 2012. Room was very noisy due to traffic. Staff did not give requersted wake up call on morning of departure claiming phone might not have been working properly.

recently stayed for three nights at the leisure inn Macquarie, the location was fantastic. Can walk to Salamanca, town, constitution dock, even home from the Cascade Brewery if you have one too many. Parking is an issue, first in best dressed and we seemed to be the worst dressed each night resulting in getting up at 8:00am to move the car which isn't exactly relaxing. Our room was pokey but I saw bigger more comfortable rooms during my stay, we seemed to have lucked out. Location makes this place.

Decent rates. Near to Salamanca markets.

The bathroom in our room is the one converted from a toliet for disable people. So it doesnt look like a proper bathroom. There is no bath tub and nothing been used to separeted the shower area. I called reception since it is different from the description of what I booked online. The lady seems doesnt really care about it, not saying rude, but doesnt want to help either. A bit disappointed, not really good for the price. Location is ok.

This hotel has been refurbished and was clean and comfortable, however some of the old traits still remain: the lifts take ages and the windows don't close fully, allowing street noise to enter. In line with many modern refurbishments, water from the shower spreads over the bathroom floor. Still a convenient location for the Hobart CBD at a reasonable rate, and with a reception that is open at 10pm if catching the evening flight down from Melbourne.

1. Parking spaces are very narrow and even with a very small car, I had trouble parking safely. After managing to park, discovered cannot open my door enough to get out. Drove forward to make room. Opened my car door but now, cannot find an area to walk between my car, the pole and neighbouring car. Ended up parking on the street. Not a great start. Noticed that the Manager's car space was wide!!! 2. The bathroom is too small with no fan for ventilation. The toilet roll holder is lopsided and the roll keeps coming off. Towels are dirty. Found long hairs in my shower basin & on wall. Shower head is bad with weak water pressure. Difficult to get the right balance of hot & cold water. Got either burnt or frozen. Complained about this. Housekeeping Supervisor explained that the reason for the problem was due to a large group booking all having a shower at the same time in the morning. That's shouldn't be my problem. Fix the plumbing!!! Had another shower in the afternoon, same problem. 3. Room is very hot & stuffy. Opened window which does not have flyscreen. Window is nailed so that it can only be opened 3 inches!!! Had to turn on the fan provided the entire time I spent in the room. 4. Phoned to order room service. Was hung up on. Called back. Ordered pizza arrived with undercooked dough base. Inedible. Complained to management & the price was taken off my bill. 5. Made a cup of tea. Opened cutlery drawer to find another long hair among the spoons. Yuck!!! 6. Outdated brown decor in room. Black power plugs which makes it difficult to see where the plug should be pushed in at night. 7. Ironing board provided is old & falling apart. 8. Wardrobe is smelly. Did not hang my clothes in it. Will never return & will warn people I know. Not worth the hassle. Not worth the money. Hotel Charles, please come to Hobart...

Overall good hotel and location, its walking distance to Salamanca market and close to restaurants They have some cable channels.. which is good for when we go back to the hotel early and just want to watch tv.. The room is small though, and the bathroom's shower doesn't have a separation with the toilet other than the shower curtain... The staff was friendly whenever we needed info, but they don't really offer any assistance with tour bookings or anything.. But good news is its a short distance from the visitors info centre where you can do that instead. Also the parking is TINY!! I had a difficult time finding a parking spot I could fit in. I kept worrying that I'll scratch the car.. Other than the parking, overall a good place to stay if you just want a room to sleep in and not much else

Leisure Inn was very accommadating and the staff was very courteous. Although not on the waterfront, it was a short walk to everything needed. Only downside was the views weren't great and the rooms were small. But I'd rather have a big bed than walking room anyway. The comfort of the bed made up for it!

Top notch, highly recommended enjoyed ever thing about my stay, throw stone to pretty much everthing, will be back again that's for sure..

I stayed at the Leisure Inn in Hobart for three nights. Pros: Great Location, close to city center and Salamanca, complementary internet at the time I stayed. Great view of Mount Wellington on the 9th floor. Cons: Rooms are a bit old, I had a hard time adjusting the shower temperature (needed so much fine tuning) between cold and boiling. The cleaning lady left the door room open every day after tiding up the room (the door needs a push for proper locking). I had to mess with the key card for about 2 minutes until it opened. The elevator is very slow.

This is a good staple for both the vacationer and business person wanting a centrally situated and reasonable and clean hotel in the middle of Hobart. Have stayed there several times and would highly recommend!

Comfortable rooms with nice amenities. Within walking distance to just about anything you need. Friendly and informative staff. Well worth looking at as an option to stay at in Hobart

We found the staff fantastic at Leisure Inns Hobart Macquarie. We had a problem with our room (#303 is very loud, you hear all street noise). The next day we inquired if we could change rooms to which John and Stephanie went above an beyond to accommodate us in our request. Great location, good food and entertainment not far away. We would definitely stay their on our next trip to Hobart, but not in room #303 :)

Affordable and a prime location in the Hobart CBD. Central to the Salamanca area and markets, city centre and short taxi ride to upper Elizabeth St. Great eats within proximity, especially Jackman and McCross bakery on the doorstep. Yum, yum

This hotel was a solid value. At the price we paid, you don't expect luxury. It was clean, and had very friendly, helpful staff who knew Hobart very well. The only part that I thought could really be improved is the bathroom/shower, which are really one (no compartment for the shower, so the water goes everywhere). But if you're going to Hobart to get outside and just need a clean place to sleep and friendly people to tell you where to eat, this is fine.

It's a nice, clean and modern hotel with friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel.

Fantastic location, have visited Hobart many times before, and this hotel is a stones throw away from everthing.

The Room service was nice and the receptionists were friendly. They were responsive to my request. However, there are a few negative things about this hotel. 1. The laundry was poorly located. 2. The automatic lighting system at the corridor was badly designed since it was not sensitive enough. At the time when you step out from the elevator, the corridor was totally dark until the sensor located me after a period of time. 3. The shower area was the worst thing. It was too small and the sewage wasn't fast enough.

EVERYTHING WAS BAD, BUT THE BATHROOM WAS VERY TINY. STANDING IN THE SHOWER YOU MOVED BACK & THE TAPS TURNED OFF. YOU COULD SIT ON THE TOILET & PUT YOUR FEET IN THE SHOWER UNIT & TOUCH THE SINK AT THE SAME TIME. FAR TO SMALL FOR THE REST OF THE ROOM

*Excellent service! *Carpark is quite small, parking space is tiny, have to be very careful when moving car. very packed in the peak time, there was no space for my car, had to park on the street. *Room is clean and tide, view is alright! *Close to (in) the city centre, next to the weekend market, the salamanca market. *there are TV, microwave, fridge, heater and fan(not aircon) avail in the room. *shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand lotion available. But the bathroom is quite small, shower space is not isolated. *bed is comfy!

everything is not bad

Leisure Inn Hobart Macquarie is a regular stop on the airport shuttle bus route. Hotel Staff were pleasant and helpful. Hotel reception sells some milk and drinks. The room was a good size with comfortable bed, linen/towls, curtains and opening windows. The 800W microwave, refrigerator, kettle and sink made in room catering possible. Good room decoration, TV position and good size bathroom. Overall good place to stay whether for a weekend or longer. Easy walk down to harbour area, Salamanca Place market, dining,bars, with other shops and precincts close by too.

Good value for money only complaint is very very noisy! Got hardly any sleep the 2 nights i stayed there due to outside traffic lights and people shouting and carrying on at all hours of the morning. If you have the option ask for a room not on the street side i would next time!
