Room was quite dated. The featured kitchen was in decent condition but looked as if everything was from the 70s

My daughter asked if we could have a high floor and they put us on the top floor. Even upgraded us to a room with a kitchen. Bed was spectacular. It was a lovely night and the location was great for getting to JFK the next day. I was extremely pleased

My wife and I stayed here for four nights. We were visiting New York for a short city break. We had a room on the 24th floor which included a kitchen. The view from our room was fantastic, looking way out over the city with clear views of the skyline. The room was very big and everything worked. It was clean and the bed was comfortable and super large. The decor was a bit drab and dated. Brown furniture, carpet and fittings. Could do with bringing up to date. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints at all. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food. It was quite expensive but I guess that's the rate for New York within walking distance of Grand Central, The Empire State and the Rock.

A fantastic hotel close to 5th Avenue and the Empire State Building. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Spent the weekend at the Affina Dumont... nice place clean hotel and the room we had was great with a beautiful view of the water to one side and skyscapers to the other. Staff was friendly. Will stay there again in future.

Excellent hotel, great views from where we were on the 30th floor. Great gym with free 24hr access. Great location, next to the Empire State. Large bed and very spacious room. Lifts were good, considering the amount of floors in the hotel. 24hr deli next door, and a subway station on 33rd street. Only problems during the stay were the fact that the room was not vacuumed during the 5 days, no free wifi, and we were wrongly billed for mini-bar items, which I wouldn't have used as they were so expensive anyway.

The standard of the Hotels in US is in my opinion lower than in Scandinavia but this Hotel was almost similar.Great location only a couple of hundred meters from the subway (subway at 33 street) Nice pentry which allowed us to cook our own breakfast and we had a very nice view from the 33:rd floor

I have tried a couple of different hotels in NY which actually costed more than Affinia Dumont However this hotel is the best hotel I have tried in NY.

This high rating might be influenced by the upgrade to a suite given to both us and our guests.

Immense rooms that created a bit of an oasis before and after a day wandering through the concrete jungle. The extra room was surprising for a NYC hotel, and at the price was a very pleasant surprise given the space it paid for. Everything felt a little old but was not an impediment to my enjoyment of the stay.

Reasonably priced, good location, big rooms, helpful staff. You should stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Affinia Dumont in New York. The room was spacious and clean. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. We especially liked the one bedroom suite as it gave us a place to hang out and visit. We were able to talk over a glass of wine and appetisers with oout having to go out on the town. There were several shops and restaurants nearby. Thank you for a pleasurable stay in New York.

Easy, quick check-in, wonderful spacious room with Kitchen facilities, fridge etc. We'll be going back there when we return to NYC. Can't recommend highly enough!

Beautiful rooms, contemporary, clean, roomy by NYC standards. Been there twice and will continue to be my hotel of choice when in NYC midtown areas.

I stayed in a hotel studio and It was very spacious! It had a mini kitchen with a stove, a nice sized bathroom, a huge king size bed (very comfortable) and it was very very clean. I had a great time with my partner and I would definitely consider returning!

Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious by NYC terms. Minor complaints were dealt with immediately. Didn't get to use the fitness room, but it is well-equipped and looks new.

I am so glad I booked this through Hotels.com. The location was perfect walking distance to the #6 Subway, so that made it getting around fast! Perfect place in midtown to walk pretty much anywhere as well. The room I had was a suite which included a small kitchen which would be perfect for a longer stay. The desk area made it ideal to do my work when I was in the room and the huge TV was great too. Don't get me started about the full size tub in the bath. I checked out early and stored my bags through the bell hop and that was great because I still had some meetings and my flight wasn't until 8pm. I got such a great price, I saved enough to have a town car pick me up at the airport and bring me back.. so THANKS HOTELS.COM!!! This was a perfect hotel for my business trip. It would equally be great for a family trip too.

I have been to quite a few hotels in NYC and the Affinia defintely won me over with the spacious rooms, excellent room service and awesome concierge services. Too boot, I even had the pleasure of witnessing a great act of kindness and charity performed by one of your doormen. This definitely confirmed we had chosen the right place.

We stayed there for 4 nights. Got upgraded for free upon arrival. Fantastic view over the east side of the city from one window and another fantastic view of the north, including the Chrysler building from the other window. Very clean and spacious. Great location on a busy 34th St, and walking distance from all local attractions including Times Sq, only 10 mins away at a slow pace. If we return we will DEFINATELY book this hotel.

Great hotel in NY. It locates in the midtown east near the Grand Centural Hotel(10mins on foot) There is 33rd station near the hotel so u can use it often. The staffs were so friendly and winning to help me. There are many big supermarket so you can buy food and cook it at the hotel room cuz there were kitchen stuff.

The lobby is unpleasant as weell as the stairs. At our arrival one person (female) of the desk was very rude remaining on the phone while she was responding to me. Very kind and useful people at the concierge. The sight from the windows was wonderful but we were at higher floors. We have a suite with a double room, very large, comfortable and cleaned with a useful kitchen. The internet use inside the room is much expensive while was unconfortable get to the lobby to an hour free connection.

This hotel was clean and nice enough for a tourist stay (i.e. - not spending much time in the room, and wanting a quality room at reasonable price). The small kitchen was a nice amenity but we didn't use it. The staff were friendlier than expected and the subway is a short 2-block walk. We liked being in a quieter neighborhood which was still close enough to get around all the sights in Manhattan. The concierge was below average however, so don't rely on that. Also it can be difficult to get a cab outside the hotel.

Recommend the Jr Suite - bigger than youd expect in NYC. 6 train is one block away. Murray Hill Market has everything you might need (on corner). Marcony is great Italian - close amd recommended by concierge. Will return

Great room! Beds were amazing! Had a kitchen. Tv had horrible signal but I wasn't in new York city to watch tv.

The Affinia hotel was very comfortable. The rooms could use an upgrade (carpet, wallpaper, bathroom) but the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The location was great for us because we liked the walk to everything. For an older person - this location would be a little too far away from the action.

The room was a nice size and had just what I needed. Very comfortable bed.

I travel a lot. I usually stick with properties where I can earn points. However, because of geography, I had to stay near 34th and 1st (NYU Hospital). If I were to make a list of all the thing a hotel should have, Affina Dumont would fit the bill. I was so pleased with everything. I will recommend it to everyone coming to NYC ... and it is pet friendly! This is an awesome deal for NYC and truly they have thought of everything the business traveller needs.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The room we had was very spacious & CLEAN. Fantastic view of the Chrysler Building! The convenience of having a kitchen was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel may not be in Times Square, but in our opinion it is in a great location and you are not paying Times Square's prices. Other posters have complained about the elevators. There was a notice on the elevators that they were working on them, obviously to make them arrive quicker. Well, I will tell you that we NEVER waited more than 60 seconds for an elevator. We would very much recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Manhattan.

I would recommend this to everyone. neighborhood is great. short walks to everywhere. Staff was helpful. Bed was magical. View of the city from the 23rd floor was spectacular at night. We will be back for sure.

The hotel is large and fairly impersonal, and the lobby and passage look a bit tired. The room was comfortable and fairly well appointed, although the blinds were in a shocking state, and looked really shabby. Management was happy to sort it out, but since I was only staying two nights I didn't bother to follow through. The room had a well equipped kitchen - great for fixing breakfast or a quick meal. Although not in the most attractive neighbourhood, the hotel is conveniently situated close to the subway and to the main midtown attractions.

Good location - very central and close to the metro. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly and attached resturant was good. Room was very spacious and it was great to have a kitchen to prepare breakfast. I'd stay here again.

I stayed here last week for business. I think the location was great since all my business meetings were on the east side. The room as clean and BIG for NYC standard. The staff were helpful and nice. I liked how they had complimentary pillow choices. It took them over 30 minutes to bring the pillow but overall I was very satisfied with my stay.

This hotel has many great characteristics for a NYC hotel. The rooms are large and clean, the beds are quite comfortable, the staff is great, the fitness room is good, the location is great, and the little restaurant next door is good and provides good, quick room service. It's the lobby that is a real downer and is the worst part of the hotel. It's shoddy and poorly laid out but would be easy enough to update given its tiny size. They need to!
