Affinia Shelburne - نيويورك

Had an amazing stay at the Shelburne hotel, it was within walking distance to all the places we needed to go but far enough away from the noise we got a good nights sleep. Hotel was clean, rooms were a good size and very comfortable, would recommend to anyone to stay there!!

Hotel is close to theaters central station very clean spacious room great coffee espresso on the corner personnel is helpful and nice keep coming back every time go to NYC great hotel

I am overall happy with my stay. Room was very neat and modern. Wireless only available with purchase. I like it due to convenience of location- can walk up to UN HQ and many coffee shops, deli and CVS . A bit pricy.

Not the best pillows, which is weird, but it was a great hotel i would stay there again definitely. Do NOT eat in the RARE grill though. Overpriced, less then average food.

Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! We stayed for three nights. It was a great location to see the sights and further, it is 5 mins walk from Grand Central Terminal. Hotel staff were great and the room was nice and quiet, clean and much larger than we expected. Free wi-fi in the lobby was welcome. The Rare bar and grill which is part of the hotel was also superb.

We had a fantastic suite which was large, clean and had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building! The only slight negative was that the bath was quite small and very low set for tall people or those who may be slightly less mobile. Staff were friendly on arrival and checkout and attempted to help whenever we asked for assistance with anything. Just into the Murray Hill residential area but still well within walking distance of shops and Broadway. We had a great time and a lovely hotel to return to every night.

Affinia Shelburne almost has it all: great location (~10 min away form Grand Central or Empire State building), nice views (aforementioned ESB from many rooms), affordable prices, very spacious rooms, modern furniture, free wifi in the lobby, relatively helpful staff... I don't know that I would want to stay anywhere else when I go back to NYC. Obviously it's not perfect (the outside of the windows are filthy and some of the fixtures in the bathroom didn't look too clean) but these are details. I really doubt one can find such a good hotel in that part of town at such prices.

The room temp averaged 77 to 78 degrees, despite fan turned off, windows opened and heat set at 65. Staff were unable to correct this other than to suggest opening windows. That barely worked and let in all the street and traffic noise. Maybe in the Spring or Fall this hotel would be OK. Room size was good, but when I asked for an upgrade, i was told I could 'have' one if I paid for it. I don't think that's what an upgrade usually is and I travel extensively. No room in bathroom for toiletries. Counters were not cleaned in bedroom. Rare Restaurant had great food, but music level was deafening. Front desk staff and door man were very friendly and tried to be helpful but a sauna is not what I had in mind.

The hotel was very clean. Bathroom amenities are nice. Close enough to Grand Central. Staff was friendly.

Very nice hotel, excellent Midtown location. Excellent quality for the money. Helpful staff. Nice city views from the roof of the hotel. Nice breakfast in adjoining restaurant for a good value.

When we arrived a the hotel the check in process was quick and smooth. I had booked a double room but when we arrived I asked if it would be possible to have a quiet room on a high floor. This was sorted out straight away and without any extra charge. Our room was on the 13th floor with a lovely view of the Chrysler Building. We had two double beds and a mini kitchen. Everything was spotless and we had a choice of 6 different pillows! The shower was amazing!! We went in January so it was very cold however, it is worth going up to the roof top terrace on the 16th floor to see the view. Although the area leading out to the terrace is a little tired, the view more than made up for this and I would imagine this would be lovely in the summer when all the seats are out and the bar is open (note to self: - go back in the summer!) The Empire State Building, Times Square, Penn Station were all within 10 minutes walking distance but if you didn't fancy the walk a cab cost approximately $6. Overall our experience at the Affinia Shelburn was a very pleasant one and I would not hesitate to recommend it anyone going on a city break to the Big Apple!!!

Great space and area for New York. Out of the various hotels I've stayed at in NY this was by far the most exemplary.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Affinia Shellburne. The room was very clean and very comfortable and the hotel was conviently located with walking distance to several destinations including the Empire State Building, Macy's, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, etc. The only complaint is that the bathroom was a sliding door that did not completely close, so it was a little strange.

Hotel is four star, however, the much touted pillows, leave much to be desired! None of them were comfortable! Haven't they ever heard of a truly soft down pillow. I suggest that anyone with neck problems, bring their own, their pillows stink!

The closest thing to being a resident while being treated like a guest. My wife and I loved it.

I've been staying at the Shelburn for 20 years even before it's make over. The staff are always friendly, welcoming & efficient. The neighborhood is in a great position as it's central to everything and is very safe. I'm a New Yorker but live in London and my son has grown up staying at this hotel and he loves going back there every time. It's always been a home away from home for us.

I stayed 3 days at the Affinia Shelburne. Very friendly and nice staff, simple but useful lobby and comfortable room. What else do you need for a good stay.

As a frequent traveller to NYC, this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. It's centrally located, the staff are first rate and the accomnodations clean and comfortable. I will definetly stay there again and would recoomend it it to anyone. If you want a 5 star hotel at a 3 star price, this is it.

I would recommend this hotel to any business traveler. I have a lot of meetings midtown, and found the location to be convenient. Additionally, the room was bigger than my hotel rooms normally are at chain hotels in the city. The price was also unbeatable for the quality of the hotel. Lastly, you can request a yoga mat/kit for your room free of charge.

My only real negative comment involves security. There is nothing stopping anyone from accessing the guestroom floors. A key card security system on the elevator would be a good enhancement.

Affinia Shelburne is a bigger room than most in NYC. Quiet neighborhood but about 5 blocks from Grand Central which is the closest subway station.

Key issue with this hotel is noise. The rooms overlooking Lexington Avenue are super noisy, especially with traffic noise, trash pickup, etc late at night. Had to move to an interior room in order to get some sleep.

The hotel staff are amazing and the hotel has everything you need, a gym, restaurant, close to grand central and Mavy's and very reasonably priced. Most comfortable place I stayed in whilst in New York.

This hotel chain is new to me, but has several properties in Manhattan, including the Shelburne. The best attributes of this hotel are its reasonable price for a mid-town hotel and its location within easy walking distance of Grand Central and other attractions in mid-town and a short distance from a subway stop (we took the subway from JFK). The rooms are compact and comfortable and appear to have been recently renovated. Wi-fi is available for free in the lobby and at a fee elsewhere, a common practice. Staff was very friendly. My major criticism (resulting in a 2 rating for comfort) is that there is no real control of the temperature in the hotel as it does not have a true heating/AC system. The AC is turned off in fall so if the room is too hot, it is difficult to adjust the temperature.

We had a delightful stay. Hotel was remodeled in the last two years. Large room - no view but we didn't care. The bed was great. The staff was very friendly. There is a restaurant on the first floor called Rare. Great food two burgers, three drinks and a nice tip was $90 bucks but hey its NY. We will definitely be back.
