This hotel wants to charge $20 PER pet. It would be good if hotels.com noted this fact in the fees section. The common areas of the hotel are not well maintained, but the room itself was in good shape.

Moldy bathrooms mean staff over a dollar for copies they shut off your key everyday you you have to go down and get a new one and sign a contract that states if you have a guest in your room you will get a 250 dollar surcharge. they wake you up and make you have you room vacuumed even with a do not disturb sign or if you decline wanting the vacuum. It was so bad i had to switch hotels.

The pool wasn't available. When I mentioned that other guests were smoking marijuana, I was told to call the police. Breakfast selections were minimal and they tried to make us eat it in the lobby.

breakfast was cold cereal or waffles!! Not up to expectation.

Might be one the worst places I have ever stayed. Loud Mexican music coming out of a banquet room which is about three doors down from the room we were in, broken glass on window of the room, guy checking us in very unfriendly, the breakfast was a disaster. One waffle iron kinda worked, no milk, no batter for the waffle maker and when he did bring some out he only brought two and there was probably about ten people waiting. Just a huge waste, motel 6 would have been better. Disaster.

It's close-by to a few Fast Food places for late night snacks (Wendy's, Arbys, McDonalds). A little far off from central Portland, but for the rate, can't complain. My only dissatisfier was the lack of fridge in every rooms.. (apparently only a few rooms have fridges and ours wasn't one of them). The ice maker could be updated.... takes forever to get a bucket of ice....

Hotel was okay, we were checked in okay at first it didn't seem to find our reservation but did in the end. We had lost piece of luggage and said would forward any calls to out room and accept if they dropped off from the airport. The breakfast area is very small and you cant take anything back to your room so if there is no room at the few tables you have to stand to eat. There was only a little food not much-felt you were eating the last of everything including the last drop of milk. We did see a few rooms before we took one as they did smell like smoke even though there is no smoking policy and we did see across the way people smoking while hanging their heads out the window.

How you pay is how you live.

Good value. Very clean, staff was very nice. Overall a very nice stay.

Nice welcome at the front desk checking in. Unpleasent odor entering the building and in the room. Needed to call the front desk several times to reset the Wifi. Poor quality and limited supply on towels. They were very concerned on the amount of towels we had. No visitor of a paying quest is allowed to use the pool, very disappointing to a child.

Not what we expected. Howard Johnson used to be a much nicer hotel. Disappointed.

This motel was in a convient location for our trip between Florence OR and the Columbia River Gorge. There is also a very good coffee shop/diner across the parking lot and a Starbucks down the street. We didn't hear any noise from our room which was down stairs facing the pool.

Stayed 4 nights. Clean with very comfortable beds. Staff was exceptionally accommodating. Need to fix or upgrade waffle iron (could only make one at a time & slow). Near restaurants. Great for the price. I will stay there again.

They use thier security cameras for all the wrong reasons, you would think they are watching the camers to protect you and your family, but no. My Uncle came to pick me up from the hotel for a movie, before he got to my room they escorted him out, no visitor's past 9pm?? I was talking on my cell in the hallway to get some privacy and they asked the I hang up, no talking on your cell phone in the hallways?? Accommodating, not here!

We picked this hotel because we wanted an outdoor pool as the weather was going to be very hot. The pictures of the property online made this hotel look much nicer than it actually was. When we checked in after a very exhausting day not only was the pool closed down, but when we walked into our room we found no sheets on the bed and all the furniture was piled up onto it. They had obviously just cleaned the carpet and didn't make note of it on their computer. They offered no condolences for this. In the morning I went into the lobby at 6:30 to find they don't serving breakfast until 7:00 ok I could live with that, but there was no attentant to be found, I rang the bell, again and again but no one came, finally at 6:50 my husband and I just decided to go to the neighboring Elmers restaraunt. We were very dissatisfied in our stay and will not stay at another howard johnson hotel again

Very friendly people and in a very convenient location. Room was very clean and spacious. Great price too!

Very clean, quiet, pleasant staff. Would stay there again.

My room lacked bath towels and face cloths (I had to request them from the desk clerk) and I missed a radio with AM and FM options. The breakfast included nothing I'd consider healthy: no fresh fruit, boiled eggs or non-sugary baked options. The desk clerk was absolutely marvelous.

The hotel was in good shape and the rooms were large and comfortable with all we needed.

Couldn't beat the price. Everything was great. Easy access to everything we needed.

the hotel was clean, the breakfast was a joke, why even bother putting that out??? when you flushed the toilet, it ran for about 5 mins very strange the fan in the bathroom did not work an ice machine should be in both buildings, not just the one with the office in it.

Great place to stay,not much on there food for breakfast,very friendly, always cleaned and wasn't noisy at all

The night staff was very accomodating, but the next morning was quite different. The continental breakfast was cheap and chintzy. We walked in at 8:45am and the counters were being cleared and nearly bare.. (Breakfast is 7-9) Two couples walked in after us. I had to ask for waffle mix - none was out. The staff brought out two cups of watered down mix. My son is 6'3" and easily could have eaten two. When mine cooked (only one waffle maker was working) it was as hard as cardboard and tasted like it. Sadly, it was so bad it got thrown out. There was one scone (very small) left, 1 1/2 muffins out, and very few English muffins. For a diabetic, this was disasterous. NO FRUIT at all. There was orange juice with very small paper cups. At about 8:59am, with a dining area full of people, the counter person came over and put everything away. He took away all paper cups and plates, plastic forks and spoons and was rather rude about it. Not a very congenial morning. The room was spacious and clean, but the small refrigerator sat on the floor and was not easy to use for an older person.

The TV had a picture and a sound problem. the breakfast juice and waffle batter was watered down. the breakfast area was small for the number of rooms available, it was big enough for about 10 people. the tile floor in the room was sticky (maybe too much cleaner and not enough rinse). Also the room smelled like it was a smoking room that had been cleaned but did not get rid of the odor.

Our only complaint about this room is that the lighting could certainly be improved. All the basics were there but without the frills. Breakfast was limited but sufficient. Within blocks of the motel there are restaurants to satisfy the desires of most everyone.

the room was comfortable enough, we didn't have a shower curtain but when we called the front desk they were quick to respond and bring one to us. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner, corners and around the toliet base but overall it was fine. We got basically what we paid for.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. We were not expecting much for the price we got on the room. The room was big, it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. Our only complaint would be that the bed was too firm. The hotel is only a few miles from the outlets.

We didn't end up staying the night in this hotel because when we got to the room, the smell was so bad we could only stand it a few minutes. We requested a non-smoking room and it smelled like someone had justed lit a cigarette. The front desk couldn't do anything to help. Also, the blankets in the bed had a lot of hair and other wierd surprises left.

we stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and it was everything ok: the room was clean, comfortable and the structure offer all the facilities you can ask: pool, fitness room and washing machines. Also they offer breakfast, and the staff was so nice that give us all the directions for the interesting things about Portland and nearby, and let us use the breakfast room to cook and eat our dinner! I really reccomend this hotel: offer all you can ask, it's cheap and it's 5 minute walking from the train station (30 minute to the city center)
