If you like a modern hotel with all conveniences, modern bathrooms and a neat room with wood modern finish, and convenient location, this is it!

Hotel is solid...great service, lovely room (albeit European size), and perfect location. Strategically located between the palace, Prado and shopping boutiques. People were wonderful

Close to the museums as well as Plaza Major. Great bar and restaurant. Helpful staff. Rooms get a 9 out of 10.

This was our first trip to Madrid and we couldn't have picked a better hotel for our stay. We took the Aeropuerto Express bus from the airport and had a ten minute walk from the drop off point at Place de Cibeles to the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and told us everything we needed to know. They were doing a special on breakfast - 2 for 1 - and what great value that turned out to be. We stayed in one of the Duplex rooms on the fifth floor, pretty funky to have a sitting room on another level. The hotel was ideally situated for the bus tours, the busy parts of town and the plenty of character back streets. There was free internet access. The only thing we didn't have was the weather. but other than that I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want that little bit of luxury.

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT PEOPLE, LOVED THE LOCATION, LOVED THE BAR....WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN. PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK NEVER STEERED ME WRONG IN RESTAURANTS.

My buddy and I stayed at Hotel Urban in Madrid during a three-day city break. We loved it. The hotel is very well located, just a short walk away from El Prado and Palacio Rea, and there are three metro stations a stone's throw away. There are many restaurants and bars in the vicinity, many of them patronised by locals. We stayed at a Junior Suite facing the atrium of the hotel and we were very pleased with the room. The beds were super comfortable and the bathtub with hydromassage was pure bliss. We would be happy to recommend Hotel Urban to our friends.

Hotel staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Stay came with 2 free glasses of champagne at the classy glass bar in the hotel. Room was well kept, clean, and modern and very conveniently located near all the sites and several metro stations. I would strongly recommend this hotel to a friend, and will do so to anyone who I know visiting Madrid.

Free wifi for only one hour per day seems unnecessarily mean.

Just had a short stay at Hotel Urban. Very tasteful and smart design, with top service and excellent food. And with a perfect location. But, there’s one huge BUT, the rooms are not at all soundproof. There was a significant gap between the door and the floor. Therefore you’ll hear the footsteps and voices from the corridor very loud and clear. I also overheard the conversation in the room next door in a matter that’s more compatilble with 2* hotels... Except of this – a very nice place.

Rooms were nice, lack of outlets proved difficult. Can hear everything through the walls. As my bed Rm 209 was against the wall of my neighbors bathroom I heard lots of interesting noises throughout the night.

Though not a bargain basement price, teh Urban gives you a great location and all you need for a relaxing and peaceful stay. Room was smallish, but very well equiped - shower was great (but no bath!). Blackout blind and double glazing made for low road noise, though you can hear neighbours antics pretty clearly! Meals are pricey and no point with with Madrid on your doorstep. Roof top terrace, pool and bar were the highlight - though small, it was never busy and as gustes only until 8pm it is a real bonus for afternoon sun and sunsets - great views too! Staff were helpful - though odd failings on room service clearing stuff was irritating. I would return.

GREAT hotel-great location. Loved the nightly turndown service (a nice bit of chocolate before bed!). The hotel restaurant's tasting menu (I ate there on two separate occasions) was both delicious & not outrageously expensive; the same, however, cannot be said about drinks - you can quickly incur a high tab at the rooftop bar. Relaxing by the pool in the sun, however, helps to ease the high drink prices! Had a duplex room which was beautifully appointed, with exquisite art in the room (the only drawback was the sensor in the closet that turned on the light; the light would only stay on for about 30 seconds before going out; it was very annoying!) . High pressure showers were welcome and the bidet an unexpected surprise! Wired internet free in-room (not an option for my MacBook Air. alas), so had to pay for Wi-Fi in-room (it is free, however, in the lobby I believe). Based upon my length of stay, the monthly rate (50 euros) was cheaper over the daily/weekly rate. Rather pricey, but I need my internet! My stay was at this hotel was most enjoyable & I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Madrid!

Deluxe modern and central. Most importantly for Madrid it has a pool on the roof for residents. Absolute heaven. Fab service, great staff, modern design, good bathrooms, good beds, crisp white bedlinen, well cleaned. URBAN HOTEL IF YOU ARE READING THIS - THE ROOMS NOW NEED A RE-PAINT AS THE WALLS ARE GETTING SCUFFED, AND THE TOWELS/ ROBES NEED RENEWING AS THEY ARE NOT THE STANDARD OF A LUXURY HOTEL. A GREAT HOTEL BUT THE ROOMS ARE ALL JUST GETTING A BIT 'TIRED'. REFRESH!!

Outstanding hotel with fabulous service! I will be recommending this hotel to others and would definitely stay next time I visit Madrid. Thank you Urban for a wonderful stay.

This is one of three hotels I have stayed at owned by the Derby Hotel group, and they have all been excellent. The location of the Urban is amazing - steps from the Prado, Reina Sophia, Thyssen Art Museum, and a short walk to Puerta de Sol. Wonderful breakfast; great, friendly service all around. Stylishly appointed, modern rooms. Really neat little private Egyptian museum downstairs. Lovely rooftop pool with bar and lounge chairs. My husband thought the mattress was too firm but I thought it was fine. I would definitely look for an excuse to come to Madrid to stay here again!

In short, (1) Great Hip Hotel with excellent amenities and some of the best service we experienced while overseas (2) Close to all of the best sites in Madrid and (3) A great pool and bar overlooking the city.

Very nice hotel near all the major sights.

Hotel Urban was excellent! We stayed five nights and were completely satisfied with all aspects of the hotel. Staff were wonderful and the location couldn't have been better. We did not eat any meals at the hotel nor drank at either of the hotel's two bars which all seemed too expensive. We choose one of the duplex rooms (at extra cost) that has a loft area for relaxing or work, and although the room was very "cool", we rarely used the loft area. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Urban.

Highly recommend the hotel Urban for your visit to Madrid. The hotel was a breath of fresh air - attentive staff, a great location all topped off with the rooftop pool and bar. The surrounding area is full of little bars, cafes and lots of things to do.

Everything was perfect - from the location, roofdeck pool and bar, hardwood floors in the room! I definitely will stay here again!

Hotel Urban is an excellent hotel for people that are looking for modern, cutting edge design with cool bars and restaurants. The surrounding area is excellent as you are a stones throw from the musuems or all of the beautiful plazas. The rooms are a bit cramped but overall well worth it. The free in room internet and the complimentary champagne are nice touches. We'll be back.

hotel was very modern and in a great central location. Service was good. Fantatic shower with water pressure for Europe. Very Clean!!! Very disappointed about the noise in the rooms. Our three rooms were on the 1st floor faacing a small side street not the main road. Every night at 3 PM every small store on the street had their garbage picked up with a huge, loud truck. Between the all night partiers and the garbage truck it was made worse by the hotel staff themselves w2ho at 8 Pm in the morning began polishing the hotel floors with a machine which sounded like they were grinding metal. Would not recommend unless you had an inside room on the top floor.

Impossible to have a better location. Three blocks from the Prado, and within a radio of ten blocks of the most important places to visit in the city. Vivd at night surounded of small restaurants. The Hotel itself is really a five star hotel, good rooms, free internet, minibar, nuce size of bathroom. Good restaurant and room service. Best midsize Hotel have stayed in all Europe.

I am not typically into the whole minimalist/modern motif, but we thought we would give Urban a try, based on the reviews. I am so glad we did. Very pretty property with unusual but stunning decor. Our room was small, as we expect in Europe (and some will claim the bed is hard, but not me) Beautifully furnished with a nice view of the city. Bathroom was great, with a rainfall showerhead. The location is perfect. There are several great restaraunts and bars literally a 2 minute walk to the left as you come out. You can walk to most of the main attractions or take a cab for about 5 euros to ones further away. Front desk service was spot on, and there is a welcome glass of champagne as you check in..Yay! If weather permits, check out the rooftop bar and pool area for a relaxing afternoon and nice views after a day of touring. My only downsides were: the paper thin walls. I have dealt with these on many occasions, but these were a challenge. The Glass Bar. As others mentioned, very happening spot. Way too loud for us and horrific service. A loud techno beat with euro trash in there each evening. We gave it a chance two nights and ended up walking out each night. Drinks are outrageously overpriced, when you can get them to come around. Overall, we will happily be back on our next trip to Madrid.

I love this hotel! Location is great-very close to the Prado, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Plaza Espana-you have to be totally lazy not to be able to stay here and walk to all the great sights. The hotel is very interesting (and one of the few with a pool on the roof deck-so summer stays are fun!) and the rooms have dark wood floors and are roomy considering you are downtown Madrid in a big hotel with lots of rooms. I had a wonderful time (second time) and will go again as soon as I can!

Urban is a modern example of full-service form and function, hip and trendy with all the class you would expect from mega-chain luxe hotels. From curbside to complimentary shoe-shine services, Urban has all the bases covered. Free Hi-speed internet in the room. A fantastic roof-top terrace with pool and reception room.

The hotel is a great boutique hotel. The bar is hopping. The location was great. Did not find the beds and pillows very comfortable. The rooms are on the smaller size. However it really is a fun hotel and if you like new it is great. Wish they had a spa and a gift shop.

I loved Hotel Urban. The location was exceptional! It was close to Plaza del Sol, the older part of the city, as well as near the Prado and the Thyssen art museums and the Retiro Park. The hotel is very clean and modern, with state of the art fixtures and quality materials. The rooftop is gorgeous! The service was impeccable as well. The Glass Bar, downstairs, is hip and always busy. I only wish they had free Wi-FI. Otherwise, I was very pleased.

We enjoyed a most wonderful stay, very welcoming reception on arrival room spotless and totally soundproof location excellent only complaint they forgot to leave our chocolates on last night, v sad! that said we would definitley without reservation recommend the Urban for a delightful stay in Madrid. Seville metro most convenient, El Corte Ingles on serrano most upmarket, Mallorca also on serrano for pastries to kill for!

We just returned from a trip to Spain and spent 4 nights in this hotel. We loved it! The location is fabulous. It is blocks from the Plaza Mayor to the west and just blocks from all the museums to the east. The staff was super friendly and courteous. Our room was wonderful with a leather sofa, comfortable bed and the bathroom was wonderful! I loved the large marble bathtub and the rainfall shower heads. The decor is super hip, but still has a warm feel to it. The rooftop bar is beautiful even though it was closed the one time we wanted to go up and enjoy our glasses of free champagne (apparently given to all guests). The breakfast was nice, but a little pricey at 21 Euros. The small pool was beautiful and even though we didn't use it I did see a family with 2 young boys using it (not heated). There is a free computer room with Apple computers and they even provided a free bottle of wine in our room. Flat screen TV and an amazing lighting system is also in each room. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great experience!!

This hotel is close to many of the sights and in a great part of the city. The staff at this hotel is wonderful. They were happy to help and answered all our questions. Our room was spacious and comfortable. I will definitely return to this hotel on my future visits to Madrid.

I had a wonderful visit at Hotel Urban. The location was perfect, the staff was very courteous and the hotel was clean and well-maintained. The pool area was a little small, but as it was one of the only hotels located centrally with a pool at all, it certainly was fine and I enjoyed an afternoon sunning while I was there. Hotel is smart and central. I think the restaurant is a bit overpriced but other than that, I can't fault it! Although not included in the price, the breakfast was pretty good!

This is a beautifully decorated and maintained hotel in a great location. Comfortable spacious rooms, a great roof-top bar, and a really convenient location. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in.

fab l modern luxury hotel, groovy interiors, lovely rooftop terrace and plunge pool. easy access to everything you need to see in madrid. all in all a very chic experience. as with modern decor in all minimalist hotels, there are signs of wear and tear, scuffs and scrapeson walls in the rooms but high service standards balance any negative points.

This was my third time staying at Hotel Urban - it is a phenomenal hotel with great service in a wonderful location. The hotel staff is more than accommodating and the rooms are very nice. My only small complaint is the 21 Euro breakfast, but there are plenty of other options nearby if you don't want to get the breakfast.

We stayed on a room only basis and this was fine as there are plenty of cafes open first thing. A plus for this hotel was they allowed you to use the roof sun terrace first thing and that was lovely but the pool is small which was reflect in any reviews or Hotel description

The hotel seemed somewhat overconcerned with style, but the staff and facilities were excellent. The room was a bit cramped for two, but otherwise we had a very pleasant stay.

So location is outstanding and the design of the hotel is great but I encountered simply two problems... the staff was slightly pretentious and unaccomodating, like not seeming that eager to assist with any questions I had, and secondly for the price of the hotel, they use cheap beds. The mattress was very firm and not that comfortable...which is an aspect you'd think one of the "top hotels" in town would be more on top of. But the pool and rooftop bar are awesome, downstairs bar is trendy, location is spectacular and the bathroom is really cool in design.
