Hotel St-Denis - مونتريال

Very comfortable, clean and friendly. Staff answered all our questions and willingly helped with arrangements we needed to make for further travel. The hotel is in a university neighborhood with wonderful restaurants and shops nearby. The only drawback is that rooms on the street can be a bit noisy at night. But I would stay there again.

I travel a lot but rarely writes review. But this hotel was a pleasant surprise. I booked it because my friend who is from Montreal recommended the area, the hotel had got great reviews and was really affordable. My husband and I traveled with our 3,5 months baby and when we arrived she said that we got a room with with 2 singles bed and asked if we wanted to change. We said yes and then she said, I think I will just upgrade you to a suit. It will be nice for you. So nice :) The standard of the room was as you can aspect from a hotel with a lower price range and clean. The hotel´s location was GREAT! You can walk to Mont Royal and the Old town area. The staff in the reception was so helpful. We got a 15% discount to use for our next or for a friend next visit. We loved Montreal as a city so we have a lot of friends that we do the same trip and stay at the same hotel as us.

I visited Montreal very, very briefly in order to do my US Visa interview at the US Embassy. I booked the St Denis because I got a terrific one night deal plus it is in a good location (under 15 minutes walk to the US Consulate). Upon my arrival (at 2AM in the morning no less!) I was greeted by the FRIENDLIEST front desk who checked me in very quickly. I menitoned to him that I was heading to the US Embassy in the morning, how do I get there, etc. He offered to give me a wake up call and was very helpful with directions. The next morning when I went downstairs, he had handwritten out the walking directions (Google maps print job was too light). How sweet is that?! Check-out the next day was just as quick and painless as my check-in. And they were very helpful again with walking directions to the 747 bus to the airport. Room was small, clean, with working tv and modern-ish finishes. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Montreal. My only disclaimer is that the rooms are small so if you are making a vacation out of your Montreal visit, and planning lots of in-room hotel time, maybe look for something more spacious/luxurious. I've stayed here a couple of times and always have a great visit. Hotel is conveniently located between the Village, Old Montreal and the shopping of Ste Catherine Street. Clean and nice. Highly recommend.

excellent value for the price .... indoor parking a bit pricy

Hotel is located in conveniet location and provides good amenities for reasonable price. Clean. Nice staff.

The service and the location is superb, the room is very clean and very quiet. If i have to pick one 1 thing, it would be the pressure of the shower. But its just a matter of A+ or A++ .

A simple and clean hotel just beside the UQAM (Université de Quebec à Montréal). Parking available. The best for me is the location. De rue St. Denis à rue St. Laurent everything is enjoyable!

Back for a second time, we chose it because it's within walking distance of everything and subway as well. Not a family hotel really, but great for couples looking for a cozy place to sleep after visiting the city or enjoying the nightlife! great value for a 3-stars hotel :) Maintenance down because they were renovating but it looked like they were adding a lounging area!

Great room, clean, staff very friendly. Only thing.........parking was a bit awkward. But, other than that, it was great.

The price was right for a king size bed and TV with many cable channels to choose from. Room was a tad small, so I wouldn't want to stay for multiple nights, but very affordable for one night downtown Montreal. Was very impressed that a mini fridge was delivered to our room when we asked about one, with no extra fee! Room was a tad warm, but left the window open for a small breeze. Front desk personnel were extremely helpful. Overall, a great place.

The hotel itself was kind of dingy but the room was clean, decent and quiet. The tv didn't work so they gave us free breakfast at the restaurant next door, which was not worth eating. We used their parking garage and had a hard time getting our car out--the doors weren't working with hotel cards. The staff did their best to be helpful and was friendly. Over all good deal though, I'd stay again for the money and location.

This hotel was old and seemed to be in the process of some renovations in the lobby. The bathrooms were small and our biggest complaint was the radiator heat. Since there was no thermostat or way to control the temperature in the room it got very hot over night. Other than these little complaints the hotel was great. The beds were very comfortable, the parking was pretty easy for a city and the front desk staff was friendly.

Highly recommend this hotel! Reasonably priced AND located on a great street with tons of restaurants/bars and only one block away from a metro stop. Room was small, but comfortable... recently renovated (lounge area next to lobby was being done during our stay) and very clean. Thin walls, so there was a little bit of noise in the AM with the maids shuffling around in the hallway, but generally pretty quiet. Parking was on the same block as the hotel and very secure, although a little tricky to find your way in and out of the garage on foot...

I loved my stay at Hotel St.Denis. The location is great and the staff is amazing. The room itself was cozy and a fair size. The only downsides was that there was not a fridge in the room and the view from our room was of the back alley. I would stay here again, as the location is right in the heart of Old Montreal and is a short walk from the port as well as the many restaurants along St.Denis.

No restaurant, no gym, but good clean, no frills rooms. Good downtown location. Plenty of restaurants in area. Cleaner than top brand with stayed at a few days prior.

I was more than impressed with our stay at Hotel St-Denis. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean! The staff were very warm, welcoming and very helpful. The location was ideal, very close to the 747 and just step away from Saint Catherine Street. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel and it's staff. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be staying there again next time I visit Montreal :)

We had a good stay.Helpful staff. And celan ROM and bathroom

Not sure why many people complained about this hotel. I certainly didn't expect five star. It was just about perfect for the price (very inexpensive) for what I received. My advice, you want a basic clean hotel that doesn't kill your pocket (to date, the Canadian $ is stronger than U.S.) with an awesome location, this is it. Only downfall was that the first fellow at the checkin wasn't very nice or acommodating but the next three were very friendly.g

This hotel is very great overall. The first day I was supposed to stay, I couldn't make it because the big snowstorm arrived in Montreal. When I called them, they refunded without asking me a bunch of questions. The room was much better than I expected. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and organized, and the TV had lots of channels to choose from (ie. Rogers). They even gave me a key to the locker and said I could keep my luggage in there for the entire day. The service was great, too. Good hotel staff members. Also, it's close to everything, including Berrie-UQAM station so it was a great location. If I come back to Montreal, I will definitely stay here.

I took the 747 bus and got off at the second last stop on Berri St, then just crossed the road, less than 3 minutes walk at -8c was a very good start. It's located on St.Denis /Ste Catherine so you have the museums and shopping to the west and the artier Le Village to the east. The room was a little small, but the King size bed very comfortable, i had everything i needed, I would've given it 5 stars if it had a fridge. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Montreal.

Decent for the price. Room is small and the hotle smells old. Probably wouldnt stay again. But good enough for one night at a great price

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel St. Denis! We are simple people and the hotel was clean, well maintained and had the amenities we needed. It is in the heart of UQAM, shopping districts and less than 2 blocks from the subway. The hotel staff were very friendly, gave great directions and when I discovered the hair dryer did not work, it was taken care of immediately. We would stay there again! The only downside is that you have to pay for parking.

convenient parking

Very nice room, very comfortable, and well-appointed. Staff was very friendly. My only issue was that the narrow hallways means that you get a lot of noise from other guests coming to and from from their rooms.

Bilingual Staff, very friendly and quick to help. Secure parking for those driving (extra $18 CD). Close to quite a few attractions. Not far, 10 mts by car, from Old Montreal. My room was away from the main street, street noise was not a problem. Stayed there twice and both times each room was Clean and well kept. No strange smells or stains anywhere. The only downside were the small showers. You have to be careful not to get too much water on the bathroom floor. Keep the curtain close always.

Our room was clean comfortable and usually very quiet. We would be happy to stay at the hotel again on a return visit to Montreal. Close to the Metro and easy access to lots of restaurants and interesting areas of Monreal. Great location if you need access to UQAM university campus.

This hotel served our purposes for an overnight stay in Montreal. The service was passable but not very friendly or welcoming, the rooms clean and modern but the bed linen and towels spartan and worn. A little more investment in the amenities would turn this from a passable hotel to a boutique. Great location but not near enough to shopping and restaurants.

Perfect location, so close to the bus and transit stops, restaurants; the part of town we were interested in. Room was very clean; we opted for a room overlooking the street, but probably would have slept better (due to street and traffic noise) had we opted for rooms in the rear of the building. All in all, we were VERY happy with this hotel. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Great spot in downtown Montreal

Nothing fancy here, but everything you need to be comfortable at a great price. The hotel is more or less in the Latin Quarter, steps from the village and about 10 min walk to the Old City. Very close to Berri Metro so you can get anywhere.

We had a weekend in Montreal for the Comiccon and wanted affordable and well located hotel. This was the perfect choice! We initially had a 2 beds room and got upgraded to a suite with a jacuzi. the personel was very friendly and helpful. located downtown it's a perfect hotel for people looking for a fun adult weekend. bar, restaurant, movie theater and more within 2 mins of walk literaly!

Close to subways, and easy to get around once you know how to read the Metro signs. The four of us Enjoyed the hotel - our room was a little dark - small window, but still great for the price. All 4 of us - adults - we're amazed with the people of Montreal - everyone was so helpful even though we didn't speak french. There was always someone who would stop and ask if we needed assistance. It was a wonderful mini vacay.
