Wanted a hotel in downtown, location great. As another reviewer said be prepared to drive around the block because the gps location on main street in the back of the hotel. Need to go to the next block(rt turns) and go in an alley. Had to take my bicycle into my room. TV channels not to my liking.

The folks at this hotel act as if they are doing me a favor. To heck with that, I am doing them a favor by staying there, and I will not make that mistake again. One thing to set the mood. Tried to get a soda from the machine on my floor, and it did not work. Went to the front desk to buy a soda and mentioned the machine issue, and they said yea, it has been working on and off for months. WHAT? No sign, Months and no repair. Please, and it goes on......

We loved that all the attractions was within walking distance from the hotel. The staff all were very nice and friendly, the cleanliness of the hotel and our room was great, and the view from our room was lovely, there was a park out front. We had an amazing honeymoon! We would recommend Springhill Suites to anyone going to Memphis, TN!

I have no complaints about the hotel itself, great room, nice breakfast, great location for all the sights, friendly & helpful staff. The only thing that dampened our stay was that on 2 occasions money was taken from our room. The hotel do supply a complimentary safe deposit box :) which we did use for most of our valuables BUT twice money (relatively small amount) was taken, once from a inside a closed bag (which makes you think someone had been snooping) and once left lying out on the dresser. Management did take on board our complaint BUT I still think you should be able to leave your things (whatever they be) and fully expect them still to be there on your return a couple of hours later. So yes I would recommend this hotel but be sure to use the safe deposit box for ALL your valuables :( !!!

air-conditioner too load at night when the compressor would kick on it would wake you. It was also way too close to the bed that the air blew directly on you and when you turned it down the room was too hot. Other than that disturbing your sleep everyone was super nice and the suite was nice.

This was a great place to stay. Street car's right out side and can take you anywhere. And with it being right down town, we were next to everything. If your going to Memphis and want the right place to stay, this is it.

Nice hotel if you can get there. Very difficult to find, My GPS even had me turning down a street reaserved for trolly cars. Kept driving around the block trying to figure out how to get there, There is no parking also. You must valet park or walk forever with your luggage, Good Luck!

Suite was comfortable, breakfast is great (although they needed a bit more help during the Sunday morning rush!). Hotel room bathrooms need more amenties - make up mirror, better lighting and a full length mirror would have made the stay even better.

We loved this hotel! The location was perfect. Across from a beautiful little park, within easy walking distance of Beale Street, centrally located to all of the downtown places of interest. The hotel sits on Main Street, which is a Trolly thoroughfare/pedestrian walkway, so you could walk right out the door and catch a trolly, or walk, and did not have to worry about street traffic or noise. The daily hot breakfast was a plus, offering a wide variety of both hot/cold items. We only had one little mishap, finding a pair of underwear in our room at check-in (it was fairly hidden, to give the cleaning staff a fair shake). We called the front desk and they immediately sent up someone up to take care of it, and upon check-out, comped us our valet parking for the entire week we were there. They were very apologetic, efficient, and helpful. Overall, we thought it was a perfect place to stay in Memphis. And the entire hotel staff, were extremely friendly, polite, and helpful... from the front desk, valet drivers, cleaning service, maintenance crew, breakfast room attendants... all went above and beyond to make sure you were happy and taken care of.

The only thing that bothered me was a sour odor that came from the bathroom. One like a cloth that was over used and maybe not washed, or just dirty water that wasn't changed. I am sensitive to odors such as that, but other wise the room was fine, even if it was looking over the main entrance roof. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Great hotel everyone was friendly they say don't pick da side by da trolley but tht wasn't bad thanks springhill suites employees for everything

This hotel is within walking distance to all of the major attractions in Memphis. I always stay here, which is about every 3 months, the breakfast is great, very helpful and easy to get around.

I was very disappointed with my room. It seemed smaller than I expected. The rug was frayed at the doorway . The coffee table had scratches, 2 lampshades had holes and cracks, you could write in the dust on the TV screen, light bulbs were burned out, the TV flickered. Not what I expected for the price. Won't stay there again. Did like the accessibility to the trolley and the free breakfast.

The hotel was clean and all staff were uber-friendly. The rooms were decorated in a retro-70s look. It was difficult to actually find the hotel from my MAPQUEST map. Once I found it all was ok. 10 minute walk to Beale Street, local park kind of creepy at night. Free breakfast good

The front desk staff were fantastic. We got the best welcome and laught with the staff at this hotel. Thank you to them for making you feel so welcome. Overall hotel is good. It is an older hotel but clean and has all you need with the tram stop right out the front and Walgreens across the road.

Very convenient--enjoyed the breakfast and free wireless. Walking distance to sights and restaurants. Parking was reasonable and convenient.

The guy at the valet was very nice and helpful. He was the first person we saw, he gave an excellent first impression. Normally, I would never valet a car that has had 3 kids in it for a very long trip (what a mess!)

Overall a good experience. We (2parents and 2 teen children) stayed in the historic part of the hotel for two night and were very happy with the room/suite. Breakfast was good and they kept everything clean, Housekeeping could have been a little more thorough and attentive to detail after the first night (e.g., we were a towel short, missed a couple spots in sweeping).

We statyed at the hotel at the end of our Christmas road trip thru Tennessee. Very clean room. Nice to have 2 large flat screen TV's so kids could watch what they wanted to. Easy access to trolly(right out the back door) and Beale street. Wonerful continental breakfast with not just the usual pasteries~they had scrambles eggs, sausage, biscuts, bagels. cereal. hot tea/coffee and yummy oatmeal. I would reccomend this hotel!

Nice place downtown Memphis , big clean rooms, beautiful area , the only bad thing is that you have to pay $ 12 for self parking or valet.

Hotel was really nice. The room was clean, and seemed to be updated. The staff was nice and helpful. Free breakfast was really good as well. If you book a room, ask to be on the side that the trolley is not on. Thursday morning we were woken up by the sound of the street crew blowing leaves off the street at 6 something in the morning. And then the trolley running back and forth made it hard to sleep. We asked them if we could switch that night and they moved us into another room on the other side of the hotel.

I was in town on business. The hotel was great for my needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The trolley service made getting around convenient without having to rent a car.

Really cool location in downtown Memphis. Close to everything. Clean hotel with lots of room. Great for families or business travelers.

The hotel is very nice, and in a good location, but the service was terrible. The two men at the front desk were extremely rude, and one of them was on his cell phone the whole time. They weren't any help when we asked any question, and they were rude if they did answer. Also, the valet guy was very rude. I expected a little southern hospitality, not the amount of rudeness which I experience. I will never stay at this hotel again. There are plenty of better places to stay in Memphis.

Had to call security people fighting in the hall drunk and local Police one time call to front desk and ask for a another room they said they could not move us would have to take it up with the front desk in the AM

Pleasant stay at the hotel, check in was a breeze, convenient valet parking, walking distance to great restaurants. Did find it a little difficult to drive to the hotel, as you must enter from Front Street, but I called and the hotel staff gave me perfect directions.

This was the first time for my husband and I in Memphis. We decided we would book a good hotel as it was only for 3 nights. We stayed in the Marriott Spring hill suites, the hotel was lovely our room was spotless great beds. The hotel was in a great spot, right outside the door was the tram line which was convenient to the town and to the famous Beale street would recommend this hotel and would stay in it again

The hotel is within walking distance of Beale Street and of the Mississippi riverfront. Walk to Beale Street or take the trolly for $1. Even at night the area is safe to walk. Rooms are clean, large and recently renovated. Rooms at the back of the hotel tend to be a bit noisy due to the trolly that runs behind the hotel. A hot breakfast with a good selection is served. One drawback is that self parking is limted resulting in the need to pay for valet.
