Pacifica Beach Resort - باسيفيكا

Our overnight stay was very frustrating as this hotel is heavily lit at night from both the balcony and hallway side. The door frame leading to the room was badly warped and as such had large spaces trough which light from the hallway lit up the room throughout the night making it very difficult to sleep.

The rate and location seemed great, but the hotel was far more run down than the reviews and photos led me to believe. The lights were odd, the bathroom door stuck, a window was cracked, and the screens on the windows were sliced. But the worst part was the general feeling of being isolated with little or no other guests in the hotel, and completely dead feeling.

our room was descrbed as having a partial view but it was a FULL view of the ocean. Ownership has recently changed so as of now (April 2012) the restaurant is closed and upgrades are being made. We never heard any construction noise though. Our room had a balcony overlooking the ocean where we were able to watch surfers. And beach Combers each morning. staff is VERY pleasant and accommodating. Businesses on the street were iffy...go a block away ( by car) for Starbucks, grocery items, etc. Beds were very comfortable but highway noise sometimes competed with the sounds of the surf.

Away from the big city lights, but only a half hour to downtown. With the beach right across the street.

I was leery because my brother booked the hotel several years ago and said it was terrible. Other reviewers seemed to agree. Since it is now under new ownership, I decided to give it a try. There was hardly anyone else there so we had the place almost to ourselves. The room was large and very clean but had a few condition issues. Mostly minor though like the bathroom vanity needed painting and there was no place to hang towels around the vanity. There was no hair dryer in the room but Rose, the very nice front desk person told me as the rooms got redone, hair dryers would be put in them. She gave my wife one to use anyway. The Jacuzzi tub was in perfect condition and very clean. We enjoyed that very much. The bed was firm but very comfortable and we both got a good night's sleep. The restaurant was not opened but Rose said they were waiting for a well-known and stable business to take over or relocate to that location. All in all, I'd say it was a very good experience and we will definitely be back!

room had a new newer spa tub installed, but the hotel didn't fix up the rest of the room at all. The fireplace didn't work and looked like it was sinking into the wall. shower was tiny and had wall texture removed showing drywall. the room appeared nice until you took a deeper look. I would stay here again as long as I took a look at room to make sure they all didn't look like this one.

The hotel was nice but we were dissappointed in the window treatment. The blinds were broken in several spots & pieces were laying on the floor so there was no privacy in the room. We did ask for something to cover the window & they gave us a see thru curtain. We ended up using that & a sheet. These fell several times. I'm also pretty sure that the bedding may not have been cleaned just remade. I want to see & smell that everything is clean!

I know that it is being remodeled, but it had weird noises that inturpted our resting before dinner. the fireplace was not working, even the iron didnt work, and we had to go down two flights of stairs to find ice. Nice place, but will return once the remodeling is complete, the front desk staff gets an A+ on helpfulness and friendly

Worst hotel ever especially mngrs :(

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was an easy check in and fast check out. The room was cozy and it had a very romantic atmosphere. I would recommend this to a friend. Thank you.

This hotel needs a lot of work, and doesn't seem to be getting it. My room had clear water stains on a lot of the molding, some of the lights didn't work well, and one of the lampshades was broken. The room was too hot or too cold (poor temperature control), and the carpet was clearly worn. There were also no drawers (not even one!) for storing clothes, and the closet was very small. The strangest thing though was that the room was dominated by an *enormous* jetted jacuzzi tub -- it was nearly as big as the bed and made walking around the room difficult. The bathroom and shower were tiny (I kept bumping the water to cold just standing in the shower) and there was little room in the rest of the room because of the humongous tub. I guess if you're there for a one-night romantic getaway it could be okay. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This may have been in part because the hotel was nearly empty - the parking lot had one or two cars at most in it while I was there. The restaurant is still closed, and though it says its under renovation, no work was going on during my stay (you can see chairs and stools stacked up, and not a single one or anything else moved in there). The location of the hotel is good - you can see the ocean from many of the rooms. It's about a 5 minute walk (you have to cross Hwy 1) down to the beach.

From the outside the place looks really cute and different but once inside its a whole other world. The place is suppose to be in the process of remodeling but st ill needs alot of work. The property is old and the rooms are dated. There was no working ice machine on the whole property. The fireplace in the room didn't work. The hot and cold water were reversed. We couldn't get the closet door opened.After awhile we just had to laugh about everything that didn't work or wasn't there. The hotel resturant was also closed due to renovations. It was in a lovely location across from the beach and close to the airport so we didn't have to pay another $45 a night to park the car. But would find someplace the next time.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in the middle of a remodel and was mostly covered by scaffolding on the exterior of the building, including outside our room. It was still a beautiful view, though. The room was very nice and included a fireplace, spa, and nice furnishings. The hallways were a bit sterile, like a hospital. Clean, but bland. The hotel is right across the street from the beach and walking trails, and a short distance from a strip mall with grocery store, restaurants, etc. Staff was friendly and helpfull.

The Hotel is definitely a 2.5 - 3.0 star hotel. It would appear they've done a lot of work but it's definitely not finished by any means. The exterior doors are worn out, the gigantic spa tub is right next to the bed...the room was freezing. The hotel might be well appointed for a 65 degree day, but definitely not for a rainy 50 degree day. It looks glorious when you pull up - but we were sadly disappointed with the room.

When we checked in we met a very friendly front desk person. She was very informative and very helpful. We were disappointed that the fireplaces in the rooms had been shut off for a remodel. I guess at some point they are installing electric fireplaces. Also the jacuzzi tub is right in front of the door as you walk in. There is no privacy screen, and it kinds of sits in the room like a big elephant....The heating & air system was frustrating. There were no instructions so all night we had to manually turn it on and off. It would either get too hot or too cold, couldn't find a happy medium. We could tell that the room was very clean, even though the bedding, furniture etc....was all very dated and or old. The best thing about this room was we did have a partial veiw of the ocean and literally the ocean is across the street and very easy to access. I would like to go back after the hotel is done remodeling and see how things go!

Loved the location, right across the street from the beach. The fireplace, tub and view from our room was fabulous as well. This hotel is being redone, so there was scaffolding everywhere and I think we were 1 of 3 guests on the property that night. It was great to have a whole hotel to ourselves!

A really great deal for a one night get away. I booked a room pretty last minute with a king size bed and partial ocean views. The room looks just like the photos. The fireplace was super cozy, the jacuzzi tub easily fits two adults over 6', and the Wolfgang Puck coffee wasn't so bad. One of the lampshades really needed to be replaced but the shower soap was organic. They tryin. We picked up some tasty dinner from Gorilla Barbeque nearby. Our mini fridge easily fit three large bottles and an assortment of cheese/fruit that we brought with us. At night I watched the waves glow and in the morning i watched the waves crash from bed. I'd stay again.

This hotel is being remodeled, not many people there so I got a FREE upgrade to a room witha view and a fireplace. The fireplace glass was fogged up, the water was luke warm, a/c sockets were worn out, the fire detector was beeping and I told the hotel desk about it, they did nothing, I removed it and placed it on the balcony over night, re-installed it before I left and it was beeping happily Restaurant was closed for remodeling, continental breakfast of warm coffee, cello-danish, an apple and an orange. None of these thinks bothered me much, except the water temperature.. I would stay there again.

this hotel is by the beach, and only 10 minutes from SFO, so the location is great. Our room had a direct view of the ocean. The beach is on the opposite side of the highway, but there is a trail along the beach which is good for walking, you just have to drive over there. We had a nice fireplace in the room, and the parking is very close to the room. We stayed here the night before leaving town, and it was a great location. Also, we visited Nick's for great food, with an atmosphere that is like a neighborhood joint from the sixties and with great food.
