Fort Young Hotel - روزي

This is my fifth time staying at the Fort Young Hotel. I return every year because of it's convenient location, clean rooms, friendly staff and spectacular views. It is the best hotel on the island in my opinion. It is walking distance to the fresh market and shopping. I have stayed in several rooms around the hotel. The fort rooms are quaint with wood floors and vaulted ceilings but some can be a little noisy because they are on the end of the hotel which is on the Bay front and there is a round a bout and people honk their car horns a lot at all hours of the night. There are only shutters and screens on these room's windows so the noise comes right in. But the rooms are so pretty that it outweighs the cons. The restaurant serves up delicious cuisine and they have wifi in the hotel which is a nice addition to what they offer.

As a business trip it was difficult to work in rooms without wifi

This is a world class hotel facility wise. Unfortunately, the standard rooms available to hotel.com customers are sub standard in one key area. They are not sealed properly to prevent mosquitoes from getting into your room. Some of the rooms are better than others, but the workmanship on the screening is laughable. The entrance doors have big gaps in the framing, as well. You can not use your lights, especially around sunset and during the night, and reduce the problem, but you will have a mosquito or two no matter what.

The hotel was close to almost everything in Roseau. Roseau is a small town and walking distance to government building, shops, restaurants, and shops. Travel to the main island airport and island tours were available in the hotel. Overall a very good place to stay in Dominica in my opinion.

The rooms are acceptable several imporvements recently made. Rooms are clean. The floor plan is incredibly inconvenient in finding your room and pulling luggage to your room up several flights before reaching an elevator. great pool and bar area.

Fort Young by far provides the best hotel experience in Dominica - great food, great amenities such as the pool and gym, great ocean view, great dinner and room service, and great central location. Worst experience was the 2.5 hour wait at check-in for our room, without baggage storage service or a complimentary beverage while we waited. Unacceptable! Any longer and we would have requested a refund and located elsewhere. Also, the hotel does not seem well prepared for large groups especially for the breakfast buffet - first come, first serve fight for food!!

The hotel and surroundings were lovely. We received a free upgrade upon arrival and the staff were helpful and friendly. Occasionally service was a little 'laid back'. The amenities were of a very high standard and the swimming pool was a very peaceful area. The breakfast buffet was disappointing - very repetitive and often, the options were limited. The restaurant was also very expensive. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I would return.

I booked a standard room at the hotel, which had a nice terrace overlooking a small park and with views of the sea. The room was a reasonable size and comfortably furnished. There is a good restaurant overlooking the waterfront. The only problem is nothing to do with the hotel itself - but the arrival of a large cruise ship nearly every day - blotting out the lovely seascape between 7.30 a.m and 6.00 p.m. and blasting out 70s disco tunes for an hour before they depart (between 5.00 and 6.00 p.m.). But the Fort Young is a great base from which to explore mush of the island.

Well run hotel: with functional rooms. Breakfast is excellent with a beautiful view.

Yes!!! This is the over-all feeling we had, when we arrived to Fort Young Hotel. That does NOT mean we didn't enjoy other accomodations and places we visited all around Dominica, but after many days spent in rain-forest lodges, our luggage weighted double, and everything in it was damp, smelled weird and looked weirder. Hotel staff: excellent, rooms: nice, comfortable, DRY!, wonderful wiew from the pool, the best by-the-pool daiquiris we had in a long time (since Cuba, to be exact) and surprisingly good dinner. Need any other reason?

hotel overall was good ,especially the restaurant, food was top nosh, but the organisation of the bar was poor, the room was very clean, but the amenities in the room was poor. the wardrobe door came off the hinges, the kettle overboiled where it was dangerous, too hot to handle and the water bolied out to quickly and did not turn off.i was not able to lock my door when leaving the room , so my personnal stuff was at risk. lastly the safe did not close, so my important documents i had to carry at all times. i did not complain to management, because i had an alcanation with them already con cerning my lost luggage to the hotel where i felt i had to resolve myself in the end, it was not thier fault that my case was delayed, but i felt thier attitude did not help the situation. i was in a standard room which was adequate. but i felt a more elaborate room gave the attitude of the staff too you a different attitude which is wrong. more training regarding attitude to foriengers and thier needs should be acknowledged. i was a stranger to the island, a british(black) and i felt i was at times treated bad.

this hotel was absolutely excellent. They treated me very good, professional and polite. They always made sure I enjoyed my stay in Dominca. I would definately go back without a doubt. My favorite trip thus far. The hotel is beautiful and clean and the serive was excellent. the coutry is absolutely georgeous, the people are friendly. I am a 24yo female and I went alone and I was safe.

Although it was raining when I arrived, the hotel was still very pleasant.The receptionists were welcoming and the snacks served at the bar were delicious. The room is very comfortable with all amenities including an efficient Internet connection. The highlight was dinner in the Waterfalls restaurant overlooking the sea .A talented young musician played some old timem favourites which made the ambience very relaxing. My only regret is that my visit to Fort Young was so short. Spend a few days there. You will love it!

beautiful hotel, great staff but kind of pricey.

Great location, friendly staff. Excellent food.

Het hotel ligt gunstig ten opzichte van bank, postkantoor, museum, tropische tuin, markt en winkels. De architectuur is heel bijzonder. Er is een zwembad met douche met uitzicht op de oceaan. Er zijn leuke kamers die op warmte zijngebouwd, dus met glazen lamellen en zonwering met vliegengaas en die door hun ligging aan grote weg en/of boven keuken erg gehorig zijn, danwel in het gehoorbereik van een generator liggen. Er zijn moderne vleugels, waar je alleen de oceaan hoort. Die zijn modern, maar duurder. Het restaurant is romantisch en je kunt er lekker eten. Vraag naar de uitgebreide wijnkaart, anders betaal je uitsluitend dure wijn. Bij het boeken van eilandtochtjes etc. vooraf naar de prijs vragen en de afrekening goed in de gaten houden (US $, danwel Caribbean $. Dat geldt overigens voor alles op Dominica.

Hôtel très bien, très agréable et très confortable. Construit dans l'esprit de l'ancien Fort mais moderne à la fois, avec Vue sur la mer. Proche du débarquadaire, le personnel est très agréable et aux petits soins pour les clients. J'y retournerai.

Was goed hotel. De enige dissonant was dat men een balustrade had geschilderd zonder te waarschuwen. Hierdoor is een mooie blouse van mijn vrouw vervuild. Toen het hotel het wilde schoon maken heeft men de blouse helemaal beschadigd. Hier werd niets tegenover gesteld. Dat was wel jammer.

Hôtel agréable, bon acceuil, bonne cuisine mais pas d'accès à la plage.

Je waant je eeder in Zweden dan in Guadeloupe. Niet alleen de gasten maar ook het meerendeel van het personeel bleek van Zweedse origine, waardoor iedereen je dan ook in het Zweeds aansprak. Op voorhand informeerden we via e-mail naar de excursies die werden aangeboden. Bij aankomst bleek dat de uitstappen die wij wilden doen slechts wekelijks of zelfs maar om de 2 weken werden georganiseerd. Wetende dat wij er slechts enkele dagen zouden verblijven, werd ons deze infomatie echter niet op voorhand meegedeeld. Hadden wij al dit geweten, hadden we dit hotel zeker niet gekozen!

un des meilleurs hotels de l'ile, tres bonne situation, belles infrastructures. Prix fixe du "transfert" de 44euros injustifiés car ponton ferry distant de 500m de l'hotel!

Eigentlich haben wir 4 Nächte in diesem Hotel gebucht. Aus familiären Gründen mussten wir jedoch unseren Urlaub abbrechen und bereits nach der 1. Nacht wieder auschecken. Der Empfang war fantastisch. Nach einer Taxifahrt von über einer Stunde vom Flughafen wurden wir mit kühlen Erfrischungstücher und einem frischen Fruchsaft bei der Reception empfangen. Wir bedauern es sehr, dass wir nicht die volle Zeit in diesem Hotel bleiben konnten.

El Hotel, que era antiguamente un fuerte, cuenta con una excelente calidad de atención y de infraestructura. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, y la vista desde las terrazas del hotel y desde la piscina es muy buena. Está ubicado en pleno centro de la ciudad. Para reuniones o negocios es perfecto.

Das Fort Young ist ein sehr gutes Hotel. Hervorragendes, reichhaltiges Frühstück-Buffet: Von Früchten bis Pancakes ist alles dabei. Grosses Zimmer, guter Moskito-Schutz, grosses Badezimmer. Pool mit Meeres-Sicht, viele Terrassen. Exzellentes Restaurant mit romantischem Ausblick übers Meer. Roseau ist ein guter Standort um Tagesreisen zu organisieren. Obwohl Roseau heruntergekommen wirkt.

Excellent accueil, personnel aimable, discret et disponible, bonne literie, chambre agréable, petits déjeuners copieux. Seule la pomme de douche n'était pas très efficace. Avons dans l'ensemble été très satisfaits de notre séjour. Les différentes terrasses composant l'hôtel ainsi que le spectacle des bateaux de croisières accostant à quelques dizaines de mètres des chambres est tout à fait unique.

Tres bon séjour, hotel tres agréable et bien organisé, avec des propositions d'activités sur place. Petit déjeuner savoureux. Personnel tres agreable et soucieux du bien être des clients. la seule petite chose, le tarif du restaurant un peu cher et le jaccusi un peu sale quand nous avons voulu y aller.

Etter å ha bestilt hotell Fort Young på internett med en pris på godt under tusenlappen pr. døgn, hadde vi ikke forventet å komme til et hotell i femstjernesklassen. Vi hadde valgt et rom uten sjøutsikt som var mye billigere enn de dyreste, men det var et veldig fint og funksjonelt rom. Det var dessuten enda mer sjarmerende å bo i den eldste delen av hotellet. Service og oppfølging var enestående, og Dominicas generelle vennlighet preget personalet. Her må det bli gjentakelse av besøket - så snart som mulig!

Restauration très moyenne. Spa fermé lors de mon séjour. Pas de room service bien qu'annoncé. Accueil à l'hotel très compétent et personnel serviable et souriant.

Lage gut, aber die Stadt Roseau gibt an sich schon nicht viel her und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist der Karibik angepasst, sprich: generell hoch.

hotel tres confortable,situé en bord de mer au centre de la ville de ROSEAU(200m du terminal ferry) idealement positionné pour la visite de l'ile.L'hotel possede 2 bars,1 restaurant de bonne qualités et une piscine a debordement avec vue sur la mer,un lieu tres agréable.

Le personnel est au petit soin, la chambre tout comme l'hôtel en lui même etaient magnifiques. Le petit déjeuner etait excellent. L'hotel est super bien situé si on arrive en bateau (400 m du port).
