Excellent service, accomodations and facilities.

Normally we find Country Inn & Suites to be a good chain; however, this location did not meet our standards. During our stay we needed to constantly request for our room to be cleaned; and, when we tried to explain that our room wasn't cleaned after the first night, the assistant manager argued with me that it was cleaned. She had the audacity to come directly to our room to "check it out." She kept saying the housekeepers are the sweetest people, and they would have cleaned the room. She found out they didn't, and made no attempt to apologize for her behavior. She also tried to talk over me when I complained about the room a 2nd time. Some of the staff smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and did not always behave in the most professional manner - especially at night. The assistant manager was the worst part though, given we were trying to be nice and just have the room cleaned. Very poor customer service and communication skills.

Good hotel, great morning breakfast.

Rooms were clean but need updating. Breakfast was fair, I have stayed at Country Inn and Suites in Appleton many times, the hotel there is much cleaner and breakfast was better - even tho same items, muffins weren't frozen, more fresh fruit.

Everything was great except the coffee in the room. The coffee( something reserve) should be reserved for the garbage. Truly nasty stuff.

I enjoyed my overnight stay at Country inns & suites. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the best Place to eat in town.

The hotel was very clean. Upon arrival, the desk clerk gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at P.F. Chang's next door. The breakfast in the morning was good. The staff kept everything stocked and clean. The pool was great. The water temperature was perfect and the area was clean. Towels were set out on each chair. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay. There were quite a few restaurants in the area as well.

Solid hotel for the price. Clean, comfortable, and convenient

Staff was very friendly. Great breakfast included in room rate. Hotel room was clean and in good condition. Would stay there again.

My wife and I travelled here over the hollidays, we chose this chain as we previously had great experiences with them. At this location, we were greeted with a rather smug reception and condescending attitude. After a late night we were woken by the hotel housekeeping at 8:13 AM repeatedly knocking on our door. The breakfast was out of many items by 8:45 and was below what we have come to expect from a Carlson property. On the positive side, the room was very clean and the furnishings were very new.

Hotel is located near highway, easy access, also next to Costco. Room is normal size. Breakfast changes daily which is good. This time of year is not that busy for Madison area. Coffee maker leaking is the only drawback.

Internet connection was very bad

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. It was a large and comfortable room and was surprisingly quiet in the evenings. Everyone was very accomodating and I was even able to make use of the workout facilities. I will definitely be staying with you on my next trip to Madison.

Pleasant stay; good restaurants within walking distance. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

This hotel is everything you want - the staff is nice, the room is really clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. Plus it's close to the west side of town with places to eat and things to do without being too close to the noise and chaos of campus.

good price, enough nearby for restaurants, quiet nights, clean and good breakfast.

For the most part it was great. One of the rooms did have a noisy frig that was reported and nothing was done, so the second night we reported it again and was told that we can switch to another room or unplug it. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good. Location was minutes to shopping malls.

Convenient to downtown Madisonand the interstate. Great variety of breakfast food and fitness center was very nice.

QUITE NICE

We stayed here for a Badger football game. The hotel was nice, and the Quaker Steak and Lube across the street had a free shuttle to/from the game. The breakfast was good, and the stay was much cheaper than staying closer to campus.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Alll the employees were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was wonderful, there is so much to choose from. This hotel is very convenient to the UW Madison campus, only minutes away. There are lots of good restaurants and a beautiful shopping mall down the road. We will for sure be back.

Clean comfortable rooms. Conveinently located right off Hwy 12 with easy access to Madison. Nice breakfast and other helpful amenities. We'll be back.

Stayed in a 1 BR suite with pull out (perfect for my small son). we got a good rate with a discounter, otherwise I'd say it pricey for what you get and the location. Room was not exceptionally large but it was clean and everything worked. Beds were comfy, shower okay. The hotel is in industrial park type area so it had lots of parking and there were a few restaurants nearby. Not as close to downtown Madison as we would have liked but we knew that when we booked. Front desk was nice and professional. Pool/spa/gym were typical fare. Would stay again if price is right.

Very nice. Good breakfast. Nice for the children, too.

quiet and relaxing stay

We came to the Madison area to visit family and have a mini vacation. We were traveling with our 2 year old and 6 month old. We had a suite with the bedroom separate from the living space and it worked out excellent for us! Our room was very clean and the perfect size for us. The breakfast was yummy and well stocked each morning. We used the pool once and it was very nice and clean. The temperature of the pool was a tad colder than I prefer and my 2 year old was a little chilly but we still had fun. There isn't a whole lot right near the hotel but an ok selection of restaurants and everything in Madison is so close anyway it wasn't a big deal. We did like the PF Changs right across the street and the hotel gave us a coupon for a free appetizer.

Great hotel, immaculate room, wonderful beds and pillows and very quiet. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is served on china and silverware, delicious hot entries, wide variety of breakfast choices. Best of all, you don't have to drive to restaurants once you are settled in hotel. There are at least 5-6 great restaurants to choose from that are within walking distance!

We loved this place! The staff were so friendly and accommodated our every need! They were also very helpful and tolerant of our very curious kids!!!! The breakfast was soooo good and a great variety of food was plentiful and available. The hotel is very clean and the staff promptly kept things/food available. I am a VERY picky sleeper and most places I do not sleep well. Their beds and pillows were SO comfortable!!! The pool is well maintained and doesnt have that chlorine 'stink" most places have! we had a very good time and will definitely be back!!

I had a dental appointment close by and needed my friend to drive me there since I would be sedated. My request for rooms close to each other was accomodated with adjoining rooms which was the best possible arrangement. We both thought the beds were very comfortable and the hotel overall was clean, quiet and convenient. I would recommend this location to others and would stay here again myself. Thank you for the great experience!

Close enough to UW-Madison without being in the craziness of it all. Nice to have path accessible for walks close by. Nice to have a hot breakfast to start the day in house. Noticed stains on carpet and bedsheets.

Very clean and comfortable room. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful with specific information on nearby restaurants. I rate the breakfast as one of the best I have had at a hotel in years. They had a great selection, including omelets, bacon, Belgium waffles, donuts, etc. It was great.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great staff, comfortable room and great breakfast. Handy to a walking trail that we also enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the free breakfast, better than many free breakfasts we've had! Also, free cookies, coffee and fruit in the lobby. Very clean and nice hotel. The staff was excellent and polite as well. It is near a highway which was convenient for us to get to a wedding nearby.

I stayed one night with my son while visiting college, we were very happy with this hotel. It is small and quiet, and the front desk concierge was very friendly during the check in. Our room was roomy and very clean. It is only a 10 min drive to the University.The only thing is they advertise hot breakfast with eggs but only had waffles and some sausage, but we came down at the end of the breakfast so possibly they had it earlier, not a big deal, overall very satisfied with our stay.
