Golden Inn Hotel - أفالون

Very relaxing, hotel on the beach, good food, wondetful, knowledgable staff!

The housekeepers weren't great. Had to keep bugging the front desk for things like soap, coffee... Old non-HD TV with non-working remote.

We arrived 4/6/12 at 3:15. We asked for adjoining rooms with a previous request through hotels.com a king bed for my husband and I and two queen beds for my 2 adult children. There was a wedding going on at the time. My husband and I received two queen beds on the first floor with a small kitchenette. My children had two queen beds on the third floor with no kitchenette. We were told that the adjoining room to our room could not be occupied because it was not cleaned and housekeeping leaves at 4pm. When my daughter went to retire, she found to here that there was a very large stain on the sheets. She was horrified, because we were told that housekeeping leaves at 4pm. She slept on the bedspread and was awake all evening by the elevator next door going up and down. She went downstairs to tell us of the situation and to her horror found water running down the wall of the hallway. She immediately informed the front destk. They told her they were looking into it. The following day we asked if their room could be changed since there was no one left from the wedding to occupy the rooms. They moved my children to a room to the first floor with two queen beds and a small kitchenette, but did not give us adjoining rooms. When we returned from a day of exploring Cape May, I found in our clean room a used cleanex on the counter. It was not my husbands or mine. I guess housekeeping is a problem.

I stayed at the Golden Inn for three days last week. We absolutely loved it. East wing is closest to the shore regarding walking distance. Not even 50 feet from the breathtaking beach of Avalon. Skip Atlantic City. Avalon is a secret jewel. We loved it so much we want to move there. Golden Inn was accommodating and the 'standard' room could easily sleep 5-6 adults (with the pullout sofa). Utterly huge for two people. Wonderful staff, clean, affordable and RIGHT ON the beach. You can't beat it. We will stay here again.

Excellent hotel! Very comfortable and clean. Wish I was there for pleasure and not business to enjoy it more.

Wife and I wanted some mid-winter R&R away from the madding crowd. The desk clerk was great. The room was great. The bartender was great. The restaurant was great. It was all great. This place rocks.

Comfortable, with a very friendly staff. The Breakfast Buffet was an affordable convienence. I will think of the Golden Inn first for my next stay in Avalon NJ.

This hotel was much better than I expected, and more luxurious. Our ocean front suite was top notch.

This hotel is located in a beautiful town with large homes and ocean front properties. Though it was winter time when we stayed, the hotel was kept clean and the staff courtious. They assisted us in finding local fare that was open year round. Am considering coming back for their Valentine's Day Weekend Special.

Great value for the money. Dont expect fancy, but clean and located on the beach. Great customer service from the front desk.

The hotel is the best on the strip for miles around. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Off season during the week many restaurants around are closed, but we managed to eat well and not starve. The hotel has a restaurant which was open for all meals, but was pricy so we preferred to explore other options. The area is beautiful. Nice quite get-a-way for off-season.

The Golden Inn - particularly the exterior and common areas needs some updating. It's getting a little long in the tooth. The room itself was fine and clean and sufficient, but the hotel itself is getting a little rundown.

The Golden Inn's rooms are very small, most don't have a closet, just a cabinet to hang a few things in. The hotel is in need of renovation. Our room's hvac unit started sparking when we turned the heat on--needless to say, we turned it off. The balconies on the East Wing are only separated by a 2 X 4 placed near the top railing. Anyone could easily get under them. This, I feel, is a safety issue and led me to feel less than secure. I really wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Took the Cape May-Lewis Ferry to stay in Cape May. The Golden Inn is a great hotel with reasonable rates, not far from the ferry. We stayed in a room with King Size bed which was more comfortable than most hotel kings and we had plenty of pillows on the bed. The balcony was a bit small for the room we were it, but sufficient to sit out on and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. It took some effort on my part to get the King size bed because although it said 2 Queens/King bed on the web page, there was no way to select a king. It also said breakfast. The hotel had excellent breakfast options but the breakfast wasn't included in the basic Hotels.com price. There was an excellent Italian Restaurant across the street from the hotel which closed late. Overall, an excellent hotel at a reasonable price.

Very lovely hotel. Quiet and relaxing. It is very convenient and steps to the beach!! Nice pool area and Tiki Bar. One trip it was particularly windy on the beach, so we went up to the pool area. It is sheltered from the wind and very lovely.

Golden Inn is located almost between Stone Harbor & Avalon, n.j. Location was great. Guests can walk through the main lobby and pass the pool area to get to the beach. Very convenient. Overall stay was great.

Great location at the beach, and is nice to know that the hotel has beach chairs and unbrellas set for guess, but the guy in charge of it doesn't seem to care much about the guess. At the Sea food restaurant, I think that the Lobster fest that I was offered may have made me sick. Something about the lobster didn't feel right. Other than this minor encounter, everything else about the hotel was great.

The only problem was they did not have enough towels

This is a basic hotel in a very good location if you want to spend time on the beach. The surrounding area is pretty quiet with not much to do. If you have older kids who need some evening activities this probably isn't the place. I need to say something that I don't want to sound xenophobic. Most of the staff at the hotel are lovely young people from Bulgaria. I'm all for folks coming and going to different countries, but in the hard financial times that we find ourselves in with over 9% unemployment why is Golden Inn giving these jobs to folks from overseas?

Nothing bad to say about the hotel. AC wasn't working in my room when I checked in. Called the front desk, and within 15 minutes, my AC was working fine

I was a bit wary about this place after reading some of the reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The decor was just fine, room was very clean, and beds extremely comfortable. The location can't be beat--right on the beach and less than a mile from cute downtown Stone Harbor. I loved that beach umbrellas, chairs and a beach pass--even towels!--were included in our hotel stay, and the pool was great as well. Not huge, but cleaned daily and wonderful temp.--at least in mid-July. There was live music at the poolside cabana, and some of it was quite good, but it didn't run late into the night, so was not a disturbance at all. Overall, was a great family place, which I would highly recommend. Only complaint was that our room was ready one hour late, which made for a long first day, and that the stairs were a little shabby. But really, those were minor complaints and the staff was apologetic about the wait, helpful with luggage carts and local tips, and in general very accommodating.

lOCATION IS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS PROPERTY.hAVE STAYED HERE MAYBE 30 OR MORE TIMES AND NOTHING REALLY GOOD TO SAY BUT LACATION.ROOMS NEED A BIG TIME OVER HAUL AS DO HALLS AND FRONT LOBBY AREA.UTSIDE AND WEST WING FROM OUTSIDE LOOK OK.Staff not friendly never had anyone said welcome back yet.It is a typical shore property they have a captured market during the summer and they are not going to kill thmselves making you feel happy that you are there,at BIG time a nite rates they have to do better.The township of Avalon,the homes,the beach are just wonderful

hotel is lovely beach side hotel. needs some upgrading but very nice. The SeaGlass resturant was not as good as the reviews said. Nice resturant, lowgrade food and just ok service. Prices ok except for the $ 6.oo cappacino. Really?

Staff could not do enough for you. You feel like you are staying in a exclusive resort. Definitely recommend staying here, the town is quite and beautiful.

Beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels were a nice addition I didn't expect- along with 2 beach tags per room. Loved the outside beach bar with live entainment everyday from 3-6pm. Close to Stone Harbor too. Seaglass rest. for lunch needs help- poor service and marginal meal at best. Coffee available in the morning was nice!

The Golden Inn is one of the nicest beach hotels. Location is EXCELLENT. They offer chairs and umbrellas to guest but only in a specified area. If you are going with small children take your own so you can sit near lifeguards/water. Pool is small but nice. Band outside in lunch area is loud but only plays till about 8. Plan on taking your lunch to the beach for the day as there is really nowhere to run and just grab something quick for the kids. All in all we had a wonderful weekend stay at a much nicer than normal shore hotel. Parking is available for ONE CAR only. You will receive only 2 beach tags which they check for at the entrance to beach so don't forget them.

great location,not the friendlies place in the world and the rooms are so so,at best..The pool bar is a fun place a bit crowed weekends.It is really the omly show in town if you want to be in Avalon and I think they know that.

The second day we were there our room wasnt cleaned and the third day I had to ask to have it cleaned. We were gone for about 4 hours in the am and when we came back it still wasnt clean then while we were cleaning up to go out for the afternoon we were told it would not be cleaned as the cleaning staff was off at that time. Not happy.....then on the 3rd day same thing we were gone in the am came back it still wasnt clean. When we were getting ready to leave for the afternoon had to chase down the cleaning crew and ask that they clean the room. Very hard to understand the lady spoke very little English. Room wasnt too bad but for what we paid was not impressed. Expected better.

I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN IT APPEARED THAT I DID NOT GET MY $25 BEACH TAG REFUND. STEFFANY CALLED ME BACK THE SAME DAY AND FOLLOWED THROUGH TO SEE THAT THE REFUND WAS PROCESSED. THAT'S WHY MY FAVORITE SHORE HOTEL IS THE GOLDEN INN.

stayed here with my 3 yr old daughter and husband for the weekend. we loved everything it was a great weekend. beach was a few steps away and pool was fun for the kids. it would be great if they had more food selection but we really enjoyed the stay.

We enjoy our stay, it was great to be so close to beach. The best part was not having to bring a chair, towel or umbrella to the beach!!

The hotel's location is on one of the cleanest and best beaches-Avalon. The hotel is a bit older but remodeled, overall the rooms are satisfactory. The staff was nice but I was disappointed when I was told I'd be charged for the beach tag that fell off in the pool- 25 bucks was rather a hefty charge-that was the only big disappointment. Breakfast at the Inn was a bit pricey and food was ok. Overall, a very nice place to stay at.

Have stayed at this property a dozen our more times,right on the beach in the beautiful town of Avalon.Great beach bar and nice groups of people frequent the hotel. Not the friendlies place in the world with an exception from time to time,rooms need a redo and housekeeping not at the level of a national hotel chain.If you are looking for a great few days thou at the beach in beautiful avalon this is a good bet.

We had a wonderful experience with easy access to the beach and beach passes provided. Ryan was awesome at the beach setting up our chairs and umbrella. It would be nice to not be so strict with the beach passes. We wanted to spend our check out day at the beach, but they made us turn in our beach passes.

I didn't expect much from this hotel and it was as bad if not worse than I expected. It was unfortunate that I had to stay here for a friends wedding. The door to my room did not close all the way and there was a good 1" gap between the jamb and the door itself. The room smelled like potent B.O. when we arrived and it did not go away. In addition I was charged twice for the overpriced room. The hotel did remove the double charge, but it was frustrating. On the plus side the location is nice and the breakfast buffet was solid after a night of partying.

Room was drafty and musty. Hallways were musty too. We stayed in the East Wing - older wing, definitely needs to be updated - One of the only hotels open in winter months, didn't really have a choice.

This is a great location & could be a great place if they could do some sorely needed upgrading of the older part of the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful.
