Preston Swallow Hotel - بريستون

Hotel is old and outdated. Desperately needs attention, rooms are grubby, smelly and small. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good value. Dining area clean and tidy. Would not choose to stay here again. If the hotel was cleaner and more modern, it would be excellent.

Staff were friendly and helpful, but they are let down by the standard of the hotel. Its dated, my room was cold and smelt heavy of smoke. The food is not up to much which is probably why the cost of staying there is lower than other hotels in the area. not a bad hotel but could be alot better with abit of attention.

Hotel is very very tired and in need of a refurb but most Swallow hotels are anyway so I new what to expect. Room was mouldy and damp and had a strong damp smell which I could smell from my clothes next day.

Clean and warm. Convenient for those driving. 3G coverage was variable. Could do with a new coat of paint.

This hotel is in very poor condition. The room was very dirty, stains on all walls, hairs on all surfaces and rooms chairs are stained and dirty. The only meal eaten was not nice the chipped potates were soaked in fat from the fryer.

gOOD SIZE ROOM TV DATED AND NO FREE VEIW. cOULD DO WITH A REFURB . g OO D VIEW FROM ROOM.

The whole hotel needs a revamp, some serious money spent on it. Rooms ok, staff were great and breakfast was really good too. The Leisure facilities are nice too.

Ok for the price, breakfast was very good, but overall the hotel is looking a little tired and could do with some money being spent on freshening things up

My room smelled a bit musty and was tired looking, the curtains were too short and the wallpaper was peeling in places. The hall carpets had duct tape on them. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and the room had a TV, tea making facilities and even an iron, ironing board and trouser press. It was very quiet and I got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and I guess for the price, it was good value for money. The service was excellent, staff very friendly and polite.

I was disappointed with the interior of the hotel as it needs a completed refurbishment. My room walls have its smudges, dust and damp odour (or should it be uncleaned) The bathroom was 1980s. I could not believe when I saw the television. I did not feel the price was worth. Also the location was unrecognisable on my sat nav. But the staff was friendly. At times I could not see any staff at the reception. I am Deaf myself so I had to wait for someone to come and call for me. I would not stay there again. Very disappointing.

Cheap, dirty, old hotel. In need of modernisation and refurbishment. The whole place needs a clean! Gym and pool were ok, but again, dirty mouldy showers. Sticking Plasters found on floor of the pool. Disgusting... did not venture into sauna or steam room as would have ended up ill next week. wont be back. Would it hurt to use a vaccume cleaner to clean the carpet? Tin of paint in places to tidy up the scuff marks and grime on the walk ways to bedrooms? Did not stay in for a meal.

Good hotel, good service and very friendly, but a little scruffy at the edges

Stayed here as a place to sleep while visiting relatives near by. Brilliant value for money. Some areas of the hotel needed a brighten up but the room was fine, bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. Bar was nice. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic, but it did the job. Restaurant was a pleasant place to sit. All in all was very happy with the stay.

Firstly I must compliment the staff who were all extremely friendly and polite. 5 stars for them. The room was a good size.The TV channels Ok but rather limited. Coffee and Tea facilities fine. Nice and warm and good clean linen and towels.Breakfast had plenty of choice of a reasonable quality. (the eggs were very good). The mattress was rather on the old side but I had a good nights sleep. The decor of the hotel as a whole I would say is rather tired and chipped round the edges (tape used to bind edges of stair carpets). But for the price I paid I was quite happy and would stay there again. i was sorry I did not have time to try out Spa.

although this hotels public areas are rather dated,it is a large hotel to maintain.so if you bare this in mind the overall impression is very good.they DO seem to place a lot of importance to the cleanliness and upkeep on the bedrooms,ours was very comfortable and clean.so well done to the housekeeping dept.it has all the ameneties you need,bar and restaurant a bit pricey though.however there is a fabulous indian restaurant 1 mile down the road.the hotel is close enough to the m6 motorway to be very convinient for traveling north to the lakes or south in land.also on a main road to central lancashire,but the noise from the very busy road is kept to a very acceptable low level.overall impression was very good for a short term stay such as ours,and finally the breakfast was fabulous,we were down early for an early start and the buffet was fully loaded and fresh,great way to end your stay and set you up for the journey ahead.the staff were all very helpfull and friendly,thank you all for a pleasant stay.

The staff were really nice the evening meal & breakfast were nice the bar was a bit expencive. The hotel itself needs to be updated the room we were booked into was very smelly so we asked to be moved, the room we were changed to was much better.

everything was OK in this hotel : room, swimming pool, bar, breakfast, car park, quietness. I recommend it.

Cobwebs on walls, damp patches and mould on 1950's wallpaper did not prove itself to provide a comfortable night in the hotel. It just felt dirty and old, I will not be staying here again.

Dreadful hotel, poor customer service. Room had broken lock, could not be secured. I was told that was the only option, so I left. I booked the hotel on the understanding that they did room service, only on arrival to be told that they charge an extortionate £7.95 tray charge. It is a rundown shoddy hotel, I would not recommend it, avoid at all costs.

Must have been a lovely hotel once, but now is in need of a makeover. The room and breakfast were adequate but basic. Beds were uncomfortable. But i suppose you get what you pay for! Only worth visiting if you can get a cheap deal.

The place stunk of damp and mildew. The food was very expensive. The public toilets were appaling, I don't think they had seen a bit of bleach for about 20 years! The toilet seats were broken in the public toilets. The bed was really uncomfortable. If I had known there was a Premier Inn down the road I would have stayed there instead. But you get what you pay for, and the rates are cheap. But I wouldn't stay there again, sorry.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and its true that the place could do with some money spent on it. Having said that the room rates were very good and the food in the restaurant in the evening was good quality. The leisure centre was also well kept and the staff friendly. One minor point was that the bar was too quiet probably due to the cost of the drinks which is on the high side but apart from that no complaints!

Clean tidy and functional. Staff friendly and helpful. Having an 11:00am checkout allows time to relax after breakfast- especially if you have a long drive ahead.

nice hotel ---shame it's a little tired looking on the outside. However facilities are good and food is excellent. Rooms are nice and serviced well. It's very handy for several areas and the staff are very pleasant. Some so-called better hotels could take a few lessons from staff here when it comes to service to customers. I Will use it again I'm sure and would recommend it as a base for exploring the surrounding area.

A very tired and dated hotel, poor bar stock couldn't even buy a packet of crisps or a snack while enjoying a drink in the evening. Bed comfy but a very uninspiring bathroom, guess you get what you pay for, wont be staying again sorry.

awful breakfast. room clean enough, hotel quite out-dated, but not quite decrepit. very handy location for an M6 stopover.

Hotel was ok but room we had was in need of refurbishment (old style TV) - breakfast was very poor, cold and no taste.

I was greeted with the stale smell of urine and tobacco and the faint odour of general uncleanliness - following a room change it was still clear the hotel is in a bad state of repair with stains on the ceiling and peeling wall paper. My recommendation is stay somewhere else - this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!

Staying in many hotel chains throughout the UK, this has to rate a very poor standard. The entire hotel needs to closed for a month and 100% refurbished. Lounge bar furniture looks like its been picked out of a skip. Very tired bedroom and th dust.....not good at all. Went for a swim in pool but soon got out as the water cloudy as hell and the sauna was colder than outside. The quality of food of and evening was very poor and overpriced. Breakfast was not nice. Buffet style full english was real sad offering and the quality of food....well, you know the rest. No way stay here....better hotel experiences for the money.

very pleasant stay. Clean hotel. Jaccuzi, swimming pool and spa facilities were really good. Good Breaksat too!

Not a bad hotel, the staff are friendly and do try hard, the hotel is let down by a rather dated interior that hasn't changed in 25 years. However it is well run and there is a small gym, pool and sauna that are free to use. The food is also of a good standard and the hotel is located in the countryside with nice views. I would not recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway although its ideal for busniess or if you are just passing through. I would stay here again.

This is quite a "tired" hotel that needs refurbishment. I was here with my daughter so not in search of luxury more comfort. I am not fussy (I have perhaps 80 business / 20 weekend stays per year at hotels and have never done this before) but I asked to change due to the damp smell in room 1. Dodgy stains in room 2. Talking to the very helpful cleaners gave me a tip - The 2nd floor rooms (3xx) are in better shape! It is a shame as the hotel has good facilities (gym / pool) so an acceptable room and good price tag would suffice. Breakfast is OK if a bit limited choice.

After struggling to find the hotel due to a Tom tom problem, I was very suprised to see a free standing hotel in it's own grounds, very smartly laid out. We had to wait a few minutes at reception to be checked in, however once staff were available everything went smoothly. My son and I were out for the evening but on return spent a pleasant few hours in the bar area, nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was pleasant but could have had more variety, my sons only moan was the lack of 'Hash Browns'. Overall if you are using this hotel as a stopover either going North or South then I would recommend this hotel to all travellers. Magnus

das hotel an sich könnte locker mal wieder generalüberholung über sich ergehen lassen! was auch den wellnessbereich betrifft! das personal ist sehr nett und richtig hilfsbereit! ein GANZ GROSSES DANKESCHÖN nochmal! was mir zu schaffen gemacht hatte war der slang der gesprochen wurde und sehr schlecht zuverstehen gewesen ist! desweiteren wollt ich vor ort meinen aufenthalt verlängern und hätte aber aufeinmal 55pfund pro nacht bezahlen sollen, also mußte ich mir internet zugang kaufen und wieder über HOTELS.com buchen! im großen und ganzen war es wirklich toll!
