Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura - ريكيافيك

This hotel met all my expectations! The front desk staff was always helpful, and friendly. I found the hotel to be quiet, clean and comfortable. It is a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the Hallgrimskirkja Church in Reykjavik, but we used the bus passes given out by the hotel to get into town, for the most part, because some days were cold and wet. I found the breakfast buffet to be quite adequate, with a variety of fresh offerings, and an attentive staff. We would definitely stay there again.

If you wan't to clean the room, KNOCK! Happened several times the personnel just walked straight in, very annoying...

Good location and good room, service and restaurant

All in all we had a good experience here. It's about a 5-10 minute drive outside downtown Reykjavik. There were other hotels right in the downtown area that would have made it walkable to go out to the shops and restaurants, but luckily we had a car so this was fine. We had a "poet" room, it was pretty basic but it worked for us. The restaurant was excellent, although it took forever to get drinks we ordered. They will assist in booking excursions and tours so that is very helpful. I can't say I have any complaints but next time I'd probably stay somewhere within walking distance of downtown.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. We chose the hotel because it is the only one on Iceland with a swimmingpool. And we have kids that love to go swimming. But unfortunately when we arrived we found out that children are only allowed in the swimmingpool from 08.00 - 11.00 from monday to friday and not at all on sunday. That meant that we couldn't use the swimmingpool at all the days we where there. Apart from that we had a very nice stay.

We liked the hotel and the staff. While our room happened to be just above the disco on a Saturday night, we were kept awake because of the music. When we spoke to the front desk about it the next morning they assured us that that wasn't supposed to happen and it wouldn't happen again. They provided a free breakfast because of it. I would stay there again, I'd just request a room away from the disco.

The spa at Hotel Natura is worth the stay away from the city centre. It is the most relaxing experience to have complimentary access to a beautiful and modern spa after each day of exploring all the outdoor activities that Iceland has to offer. We found the walk to the domestic airport convenient and the walk to downtown easily done from Natura. We also stayed at a hotel in the city center and enjoyed it - but would come back to Natura for the spa, beautiful views, walking/running trails, and easy walking distance to the airport, rental car agencies and downtown.

Loved my stay at the hotel... The room was quite small, but comfortable enough. The hotel had a beautiful spa area and wonderful restaurant and bar. Also, a very convenient location with a great tourist office.

Natura was not near City Center, but they were very accommodating, including a free shuttle running several times a day and most tours will pick you up at your hotel anyway. It was the nicest hotel we stayed at, and we stayed at several in Reykjavik. The restaurant wasn't "discount," but prices were ok and the food was amazing.

Super hotel, good location for the city centre and easy access to other parts of island. Nice to have a swimming pool and spa. Very helpful staff

We were very satisfied with the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura. The rooms were clean and modern, and the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the center of town (about 15-20 min) but we really didn't mind at all; in fact, we actually appreciated the added exercise! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The overall stay wasn't half bad. I did not know that the location was not really centrally located in the heart of the city but rather next to an airport. The design of the room was pleasant and I really loved the lounge/meeting/dining/bar/reception areas of this hotel. Room was quite basic. Bed was comfortable but nothing to call home about. The bathroom was a bit dated and the hair dryer was busted... I ended up going into the vacant room next door as the maids were cleaning since the reception never was able to talk to the headmaster and have it replaced. Parking and finding the hotel was convenient and simple.

Although the hotel is not located close to the downtown area, it is near to the city bus service. The entire STAFF was friendly, helpful, conscientious and extremely polite. The food was wonderful! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Iceland.

Very much enjoyed the amenities of this hotel (stayed 3 nights) and used it as a base for going into the old city center as well as leaving the city for day trips. Great morning breakfast spread. Beautiful pool/sauna/soaking spa. All in all, a great place to stay. Also, the staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly.

Everything was very good except the in room Internet. The slowest we had anywhere in Iceland. The night before w stayed in an 18 room Inn in Hella and had a 300 mps connection for free. It took several minutes for a single e-mail page to load after paying for the connection. I ended up leaving the hotel to go to a coffee shop just to check emails and Facebook. And it seems like you are trying to be a business hotel? You would get no repeat business in the states.

I stayed at this property all of last week; it was a tremenous disappointment! It was far away from everything, and the advertised shuttle only ran 3 times in AM and 3 times in PM . A light in my room never worked, even though maintenance was supposed to fix it twice. A step down from the entry to the bedroom was dangerous especially at night; the bathtub was slick, and there were no hand rails. The only toiletries were a bottle of hand soap and another one in the shower that was supposed to be bath soap, shampoo, and conditioner! The travel desk booked my airport return bus at the wrong time, and I was not informed until an hour before I had to leave. I only talked to one waitress who appeared at all glad that I was there! Front desk staff often talked to each other when I approached them with a question, rather than talking to me. The one time that I could ride the shuttle, a sign in the right lower front window listed additional AM and PM shuttles. I copied them down while on the bus! I stayed in town to eat dinner on Sat. night and arrived at the shuttle stop to go back to the hotel. I was told that I could not get back until 10:45! It was then 7:15. Thank goodness for the extended daylight since I had to walk the 25-30 minutes to return to the hotel. Cabs have to be called ahead of time and charge outrageous prices. Tours also usually dropped off guests at this site last. l'd never call it a four-star property!

Overall we were quite satisfied with the hotel accommodations. Service was very good with the exception of the untrusting receptionist at the buffet breakfast (male, Indian or Pakastani) who did not believe that only I wanted the buffet (not my wife). The woman that assisted with the bus tours and reservations to the airport was very friendly and notable in her willingness to help. The walk to town was a bit of a hike but we actually enjoyed it. It would have been more convenient if there had been more shuttle times, but I understand that we were there off-peak.

Our stay at the hotel was overall satisfactory. Considering our visit was in the winter, the distance from the citycenter was a little inconvenient. However, frequent shuttle buses ensured that we were not disconnected. Our main reason for staying at the Natura was the heated pool and sauna, both of which were awesome. Don't forget to carry your costumes! The hotel is well connected to the airport, and the travel desk ensures that you are able to book whatever tour you want to go to. The Golden Circle tour is HIGHLY recommended. The staff is very courteous and eager to help. Great place to stay during the summer, but would recommend staying nearer to the city in the winters.

First, the Loftleidir Hotel has changed its name to Natura. We were continually told that the change is recent. The local buses had the old name as did all the literature. This change also extended to various tour buses that now went to the back (airport side) of the hotel, not the front. Even the person who sold us the Blue Lagoon Tickets as well as the return trip to the airport didn't understand this rather critical aspect. The breakfast buffet was good but it wasn't included in the room fee. When we asked we were told it was because we booked it through another agency however we booked it through the Iceland air website. You couldn't take a snack with you even though there were no signs to that effect. The room was spartan. There were no bathroom amenities. There was a happy video in the lobby of a family watching a movie from the bed in their room. We had to put a sandal under each leg of the bed to prevent it from sliding as we watched the abysmal selection on their TV. The bed reading lights were useless unless you wanted to sit on the floor next to the bed. There was no information book in the room about hotel services. And there was no free internet.

Hotel is comfortable with all of the modern amenities. About 25 minute walk to downtown but the free shuttle to and from is handy; just plan it into your time. Otherwise you can walk or cab. If you are doing a lot of excursions it is fine. Note that if you have to get to the Domestic Airport the Air Iceland terminal is on the other side and its a long walk!

We were there a week... We had a deluxe room which is about the size of a normal room in the USA and never heard a plane...but heard everyone above and around us. The cleaning staff had issues with removing dirty glasses.. they didn't like too. And the electric water heater for tea ... had water in it when we got the room..( it was tucked away in the closet) who knows how long that water sat there so we never used it. We tried the breakfast one time and never ate at the restaurant. The web site states if you are coming from North America you can check in at 9:00 am ..we were not allowed to check in till 10:45 am we got there we got there at 8:30 am. So over all it was ok. I have stayed in other countries in nicer rooms for less.

When traveling near the Arctic Circle, accommodations are sometimes not only hard to come by, but not always as advertised. It is a comforting reality that when in Iceland, dashing between airports and overnighting, you can always rely on an overnignt at the Icelandair Hotel, Reykjavik Natura, for quiet sleep, good food, and all the help you could ask for if you want to explore some of the sights of the city. For me I say 4 thumbs up.

This is an amazing hotel, with a fantastic restaurant and an amazing spa...but it's at the airport. It's too far for most fat assed travelers to walk to the city, so it is, as they say, "Priced out of the neighborhood." The hotel is fantastic, but what's it doing on the airport tarmac? And yes, it is so close to the airport, if you look out of the window, it seems like you're on the runway.

This hotel was very convenient! I was allowed to check in at 7:30AM with no issues, and the hotel offers shuttle buses to downtown Reykjavik throughout the day. My room was clean and cute if a bit cold (was in Iceland in March) not sure if the hotel has heating, but other then that great hotel! Staff were kind and spoke english which was awesome.

STAYED HERE 35 YEARS AGO AND IT IS STILL A VERY NICE HOTEL. THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND THE SHUTTLE TAKES YOU RIGHT INTO DOWNTOWN AND THE BUFFET WAS FIRST CLASS. TOOK SEVERAL VISITS TO THE HOT TUB

We chose this hotel because of previous recommendations in reviews and because it had its own indoor pool - we used this several times to relax in after long weary days sightseeing. At all times the various staff in the hotel were courteous and informative. We felt valued as guests. We stayed in a luxury room and believe the 'extras' well worth the money we paid. The shuttle bus suited us to get into Reykjavik but we rarely used it to get back as the return times were too close to the time we had arrived in the city. This said, we enjoyed the walk back to the hotel. The Loftleider is close to the Perlan and the Bus Terminal and all the tour operators and the airport buses stop at the hotel. This we found a huge advantage. Our room was made up and cleaned each day to a high standard and was spacious being a luxury room. My son liked being near the Falcon Football team stadium and often went over in the evening to the Astro turf and always invited to join in the football training. I like being a walk away from all the main attractions without being right on top of them. I would definitely stay at the Lofteider again. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable 10 nights there with no complaints at all. Thanks to the special Story Telling nights on Thursdays we also gained an insight into Icelandic literature - we were able to attend two - very entertaining.

we had a "delux" family room which was huge. very clean with good facilities.......they even put several large stuffed toys in the room for the kids to play with. we also stayed in the (more expensive) Radisson blu SAGA hotel and found the icelandair hotel far superior. down side would be that it is a 20-30min walk from the city with not so much around it. also, the rate that we booked had no breakfast included. but if you can live with that, then i think that this is a great base to explore iceland, esp if you have kids in tow. the major bus tour operators will pick you up directly from the hotel and the flybus will transfer you directly from the hotel to the airport (and vice versa). the hotel also provides a free shuttle to/from the city.

I will definitely return to this hotel for another stay. The hotel was clean and the staff very polet and helpful.

It's just too easy to find a better room with better amenities (charging for wifi? is this a Fairfield Inn?), better design, better service, and better location for the same - or better - price. So, barring a room shortage, I can't imagine staying here again - it's only the second hotel I've ever tried to check out of early in my life. One staff member was quite helpful (he believed my complaint of no electricity in the room - the first desk person did not - and found the blown breaker), but the rest varied from comically brusque to dismissive to misinformational. Loftleider is not awful, but as introductions to Iceland go, the country deserves much better than this, and in most other places in Reykjavik, it gets much better than this.

We loved it! Stayed for 3 nights and would definitely come back next time we are in Reykjavik. We had a car, and it was easy to get out of Reykjavik, and about 5 min drive to city centre. Very friendly personnel, just ask them, they will help you out with anything. We had an upgraded room, it was quiet, the bed was really good! The swimming pool and spa were great! Can be a bit crowded though. Food was fine and the bar is very affordable. All in all, it was a great stay, we'll be back!

Choosing the Natura for our first ever stay in Reykjavik, we had only web descriptions to judge from, and the surprisingly low cost when booking some months in advance made us almost anxious that we were being fooled. But not at all; the room was everything we had hoped it to be, the staff very friendly and helpful, the breafast tasty and plentiful, and then the spa made a very pleasant bonus. The location on the outskirts of Reykjavik ment we had a nice walk to town every day, on clarely marked footpaths anlongside the main road - all in fresh Icelandic air. Those few times we felt too lazy, the hotel's free shuttle bus service came in handy. Our only agony was that the wi-fi network did not work properly in our room (in the far end of one wing) - but on the whole we really enjoyed Natura and hope to come back in the near future.
