This Novotel could not be faulted

Excellent hotel, very good breakfasts; ideally situated for visiting Berlin - only two minutes from the nearest s-bahn station. Very quiet at night.

Nice and clean hotel. Situated in a quiet area but since the S-Bahn is just across the street and trains are frequent it was perfect.

Overall the hotel is very clean and good service. it should have been better if theres a WI-FI in the room. another thing, the pillow is so soft and flat.

We stayed here in a small family room with our 14 and 11 year old children. Great value and ideal location, next to station and Tiergarten park. Friendly, English speaking staff. Superb buffet breakfast.

Overall, nice hotel and convenient to S-bahn to get downtown in 15 mins. Good breakfast. Would stay again.

Really nice service, very pleasant and helpful personnel. Deserves really to be recommended!

excellent location and so close to train station. very clean and free safe in room. liked the fact that toilet was separate from bathroom. good size bedroom for 2 people. reasonably priced considering closeness to major attraction of brandenburg gate. if you intend to do a city break and enjoy walking, this is an ideal hotel. noticed a few residents had their dogs with them too

this hotel was absolutely gorgeous. huge rooms, nice spaces, and a nice rooftop lounging area. it was also right next to the tiergarten train stop and the tiergarten (beautiful big park; great for running!). however, there was NOTHING else around the hotel. not even a place to grab a bottle of water. walking 15 mins through the park, or taking the train one stop away was pretty easy, though. and at the zoo stop there is a grocery store, coffees, etc. service was ok here, though not super amazing. the maids that cleaned the room each day were hurried and not very thorough (forgetting one of the garbage cans, or not re-stocking something in the bathroom). however, overall, i would recommend this hotel. i had friends staying at the crowne plaza, and i saw their (more expensive) rooms. their rooms were half the size, felt dingy, and were much less clean: my friend found garbage in his crowne plaza ice bucket. so, yes, the berlin novotel is a good option!

Very good family friendly hotel close to train station and walking distance to lots of main attractions.

just 2 stops away from Berlin HBF and very close to the TierGarten metro. Very good rooms, friendly and helpful staff made our stay memorable. Close to stop 15 of hop and ride bus of Berlin. Only away from the Easy Jet airport, though well connected by trains. If u r flying out of that airport have a clear 2 hours in hand. Good value for money and good place for mature travellers.

we enjoyed so much this hotel, it is very good and high standard in all respects, including an excellent breakfast buffet which is included in hotel rate. Also the metro station is just across the street from hotel entrance, which was great. Only flaw was the wireless internet service ( which is charged by separate ) that didn't worked nice, we were using our ipad and iphone in our room and we frequently lost the connection. Other than this it is a great hotel in all senses.

A good hotel to a reasonable price. Very close to the tram-station so easy to get to the sights/shoping areas etc.

This modern hotel has bright spacious rooms, friendly and professional staff and a great buffet breakfast and all at a very competitive rate. The only drawback is that it is situated a little outside of Berlin's centre. However, this is compensated for by being right next to the S-Bahn with fast links to all parts of town and situated in the green belt of the Tiergarten park.

We stayed there thre three nights and it was a gorgeous hotel. It was located just at the entrance to the Tiergarten. Just a beautiful stroll across a bridge and through the park and you're in the middle of town. Word to the wise: there is a flea market on the weekends just outside the door of the hotel - which was pretty fun - so don't miss that one. They do tend to nickel and dime you at every turn - which is typical with higher rating hotels. I think we paid $15/day for internet useage etc. Here's a great hint if you drive your own car: When we arrived, we saw a strip of parking in the middle divide in front of the hotel - and we parked there - for free -- for three days - and skipped paying for parking at the hotel. If you stay here - you'll love it.

While the hotel itself was very good, we were very disappointed with the location. There was nowhere to eat and there were no shops close by, the only saving grace was that it was next to the S Bahn Station. The staff didn't go out of their way to be either friendly or helpful. Breakfast was very good but there were no chocolate covered strawberries that we saw mentioned in other reviews, this kids were very put out!!! There was a market outside on weekends which sold most ceramics and glassware.

Lovely hotel, nice service and not expensive at all. the location is just perfect 50 meters from S-bahn, only one stop from the center.

Being a regular customer of budget accommodation, I don't mind sleeping in bunk beds and shared washrooms in sometimes dodgy locations. I was hesitant to book a hotel instead, but if more hotels were as affordable as this one I would be a little more willing to try this option in future. The first pleasant surprise came when trying to find it. Getting off the train at the Hauptbahnhof in Berlin meant the journey was only two S-Bahn stops along the central line to the destination. As accustomed, I took out my mobile along the way and searched for the path to the hotel from the station, but as the train pulled in, the Novotel logo came into view. Ah, problem solved! Second pleasant surprise was the surroundings. Right out the doorstep was the Tiergarten with its open zoo concept and many meadows on which the locals were enjoying the holidays. A restaurant just across the street offered an opportunity to relax in the sun and enjoy some typical local food, and just one stop further down the S-Bahn line was the Zoologischer Garten station which was near to the shopping district and offered amenities like a pharmacy and money changer as well as a supermarket that was open even on Sundays. The rooms were well-furnished and comfortable, and the sight of clean sheets and covers was of course no surprise this time, but very much expected of a brand-name hotel. The washroom was separate from the toilet - a feature common to many European hostels and hotels - which made sense, but the absence of a wash basin in the toilet was a little inconvenient. Everything was sparkling clean though, so it made it easier to overlook the slight inconvenience. Free Wi-Fi was not offered at this hotel, which was somewhat mitigated by the presence of the two terminals in the lobby. Internet access in the lobby is limited to two 20-minute sessions, with a mandatory registration procedure beforehand and a small feedback form after. If by chance more time is needed, one need only register again

Novotel am Tiergarten was an excellent experience. We were three generations and stayed for 5 nights. The staff is knowledgeable, cheerful and always helpful. The price was decent and commensurate with the quality of the hotel. There is only one thing to wish for: The toilet and the shower are in separate spaces but there is no sink in the toilet space, so you have no way of washing hands if the bathroom is being used by someone else. Apart from this it is a hotel I would go to again.

We are a American Family of four and this hotel was the only one that provided us, a room capable of sleeping the whole family in one room at a really great price which included an outstanding American style breakfast every morning. Parking was free and easy outside the hotel. The location was outstanding with the S-Bahn accross the street and the zoo and other major attractions within a 10 min walk through the park. there was also a large Flea market set up on the weekends right outside the Hotels door. We would certainly stay there again on our next visit to Berlin.

This hotel was fantastic. You literally walk across the street to the S-Bahn which is then a straight shot to Friedrichstr., Hackescher Markt, and Alexanderplatz, yet you could hear no trains from the hotel. The rooftop terrace offered an amazing view of Berlin as well and is a good place to relax and have a drink. The included breakfast buffet was surprisingly good and fresh and the room service food was decent. I found the hotel staff to be very helpful and they even remembered our names and our room number when they saw us or we had a question to ask. The location is perfect, right across from the Tiergarten and there is a large market along the street on Sunday mornings. My only complaint was that in our room we had no 3G (and sketchy cell internet) and our cell phones didn't always work, which was annoying, though this isn't really something they can control and could be just as much the fault of O2. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Berlin.

Very goog breakfast. Family friendly. Weekend flea market next to it. Street parking possible but be careful, cos close to rail station.

This hotel offers much to travels at a reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful. They can provide our tickets, train tickets, and much information. The hotel is conveniently located on the West Berlin side of Tiegarten. It has a train stop on one side and a Tour Bus stop on the other. Easy to get to by taxi from Tegel airport and has a garage underneath the hotel for car though not inexpensive. The hotel offers an excellent complementary buffet breakfast with eggs to order including much breads, meats, fruits and vegetables, fish, and much more. The hotel provides PC and X-Box game in lobby area - perfect to keep kids happy. The rooms are comfortable with good climate control. One negative, The toilet is separate from shower room. Normally not a problem, but no separate sink. Otherwise the bathing area is nice with powerful shower.

Good staff, very nice room, good location, great breakfast!!

Good hotel, quiet but only 10 minutes on S Bahn from Berlin Messe exhibition centre. Staff generally very friendly apart from one waitress with sense of humour failure! Better than the average Novotel

We were told that the hotel was l/10 of a mile from the Brandenburg Gate which is the area we wanted to be in for alot of sightseeing but it turned out to be a 45 minute walk each way from the hotel. That is the only downside though to this hotel - friendly staff, free internet service, comfortable room. reasonably priced restaurant close by. Train station by hotel.

Upon entering the hotel, the large and spacious foyet gives a good first impression. It has a modern and sylish feel to it which is carried on through the restaurant and bar, right upto the rooms themselves. Even the lift is modern in that you need a room card to operate it! Our room was very comfortable, with 2 double beds and some space for a travel cot (after a small re-shuffle of the furniture). There is internet access for guests at the back of the foyet area, which was good to catch up with weather forecasts along our travel route etc, and alongside a small area with a small selection of toys to keep the kids occupied for a short while. Right outside is an S-Bahn train station and the park area. For eating we had to walk 20 minutes to find a range of restaurants bars. The breakfast buffet had a good range, and good quality food....especially if you like chocolate covered strawberries for breakfast!
