Clean and quite. Thank you.

I was pleasantlty surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of our room. The coffee and doughnut was an added plus. The downside is that it's on Western Ave. and it is a busy street even at night. Parking is free and plentiful.

Our room microwave owen is broken, and in last day, the air-con was broken also. and it's close to hollywood blvd, but the non-sense part. it's about 2 miles away from the walk of fame, have to rider 2 stops of Metro to arrive the real hollywood. if you really want to stay some where about 2 miles away from hollywood, may check out the super 8 hotel close to that one.

broken hair dryer, broken bending machine, no tables in breakfast area, not so clean, not so friendly.

It was good. Staff was helpful in explaining things and suggesting.

I reserved this room for my kids who were attending at the Palladium on Halloween night. They were happy with the room as a place to crash after the concert then after a trip to Universal the next day. The lady they dealt with was very nice, she even blocked a parking space in the lot with a cone so they wouldn't have to park in the street. My daughter who is used to staying at 4 star hotels deemed it "not bad for what it is" and didn't have any complaints other than it was noisy but it was Halloween so that's to be expected. I'm making another reservation for them now so they can attend another concrt.

CLEAN! Very clean, and nice. The rates are soooo good, and you get a nice place to stay!

We stayed at this hotel the first and last night of our trip, and stayed at a different hotel in between. Because it was two different nights (Thursday, and then the following Monday), we stayed in two different rooms. The first room was AMAZING. Completely renovated, hardwood floors, nicely renovated bathroom. The second was pretty standard for a cheaper hotel. Large rooms, with fridge and microwave. Both rooms overlooked the pool. Comfy, clean bed, huge flat screen TV with many, many cable Channels. The area is nice, only a few blocks away from busy Hollywood. Not necessarily walking distance to anything, but enough that it was a quick 5 minute drive to shops, food, walk of fame, etc. For what we paid, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

There was a pool but the water is too cold to enter in the pool. Breakfast is not good, even the bread and milk is out, no further supply. Cleaning of room is very good.

Good price and free parking

The beach was close and hollywood will come back again...

We stood here NYE for the night because we were going to a concert at the Wiltern...It was a nice hotel but the key word is nice.....the photo kind of mislead you that the hotel is a little nicer.....overall the staff keeps to themselves....nothing really stood out about this place except that the room had wooden floors...what was interesting and nice at the same time....Impressed....not to much...would i stay there again? yes it was a little over priced for the evening if you ask me.

No major complaints. Clean room cordial individual at the front desk. Tv stopped working and it was hard to get it reset so didn't bother with it. All in all very pleasant experience.

After reading other reviews about limited parking, I was reluctant to drive anywhere as I was worried about missing out on a spot. Apart from that, the only issue was the washing machine and dryer wasn't working but that was easily solved with a Laundromat being just across the road. This hotel is more a motel but its in a convenient location to the metro and also a supermarket

Wont stay here again. @$90, the room was way too expensive for where it was located and neighborhood a disaster! Room was crowded, Imma try to stay closer to the hollywood walk of fame next time. I would have paid $60-$70.

Motel in a great location with either good walk or short taxi drive to loads of placed on both sunset and hollywood blvd. Felt very safe at all times day and night. Would certainly recommend and would use again if back in LA

I stayed in two different rooms, both previous tub/shower refinishing jobs were very rough. Clean room otherwise. Nice cafe next door. good food close.

Not your 5 star but it's clean has good TV it's rooms are pretty good housekeeping and it's near everything. Very central! Only problem I had were that the bed sheets were a bit old but that's just me and the second was that they harrassed us out of the hotel at check out time.

Overall the best of the hotels in this pricerange in the surrounding area. A lot of Hollywood can feel a little dodgy, but it's generally not unsafe around this hotel. Very close to Hollywood/Western transport hub. Fridges in rooms are quite old and they make a sort of banging noise which can sound like a jack-hammer in the neighbourhood - unplug it or wear earplugs :-) Windows open, but no bars on windows, so probably best to use the air conditioning fan which again is quite loud. Car park can be very full at weekends when this hotel is very popular - there is usually some parking on nearby streets, but check the signs carefully so you don't get fined or towed!

Over all good hotel to stay in for one night. But the beds were quite hard, breakfast was a bit poor and it was very hot in the room during the night since the ac did not work. But the location was excellent just 5 min from metro station!

I have stayed at Hollywood City Inn many times over the past few years. They did some minor internal renovations not too long ago - new beds, new flat-screen TV's etc. Air conditioning/fan is rather noisy and probably not the best idea to open a window, so bring earplugs if you want some air while you sleep :-) The new mattresses are those "pillow top" ones - sort of memory foam stuff that I find you feel like you're fighting with all night just to lie flat and they don't allow your body to breathe, so not comfortable really, but if you flip the mattress, the bottom side is much more comfortable ;-)

We needed a hotel close to the Pantages theatre so we didn't have to drive home late after the show. It was nice to check in and get dressed at hotel and make it to dinner and show with no stressful traffic driving. Best thing: the room had laminate flooring which was nice change to the yucky hotel carpets.

It was a simple motel with okay service, but there is no need for interaction with them anyway. The room however was really spacious and thats what I love about it! Very clean and spacious, well maintained, huge king size bed that doesn't creak at all. Air condition/heater and shower was easy to use and reaction time from cold to hot was almost immediate. For the price, location is ideal, 5 minutes walk away from metro station. Restaurants are a little further, maybe 15 minutes walk. Not many amenities, just a pool and drink dispenser, well stocked brochures for tourist, breakfast is just donuts and cereals.

Room was clean, needs new pillows. Had a good stay and enjoyed our trip to Los Angeles

The room has bad smell and the room can not be opened. I booked a non smoking room but I doubt it was lived by smoking person.

Convenient,close to everything we needed.

It was a bit of a inconvenience getting a room when I came because they were still being cleaned, but once I got in I was happy. They tried to update and old hotel. It had laminate flooring, stone shower walls, nice beds, and room was laid out nice for an economy hotel. fridge and microwave too. nice TV. One day we came back after it was cleaned and my whole family said boy it smells clean. The Breakfast was bare bones. The internet was miserably slow. For what I paid I was satisfied.

Room is clean and big, location is very convenient to universal studio, walk of fame and downtown, just some stops by metro red line.Wifi is weak. But not in a very good neighborhood, better not to wander around in the evening. Anyway, it is LA.

Good location, will recommend

I have NEVER had an experience like this. The front desk agents speak very little broken English or pretend to. When you arrive they make photocopies of everyone who is staying in the rooms drivers licenses and a photocopy of the credit card. They say it is "policy" and they have to keep it for their "records" for 3 months. Also, they just keep these in a pile on the desk so when they are not at the desk some Joe Schmo can walk in and snatch them all. No hotel should EVER make a photocopy of your credit card or drivers license. All they need to do is swipe it into their system for authorization. Also my information was provided thru hotels.com so they do not need a photocopy of everyone's drivers license. I had to write down my name address phone number and car information so why do they need a copy of my drivers license? They don't! When questioned in the morning, the extremely rude woman at the desk kept interrupting me and wouldn't let me finish. She refused to give back the copies of my DL and credit card. After a few minutes of arguing she finally scratched out the information on be credit card. But if you're going to scratch it out why not just return the copy to me? The staff here is rude and there are a few sketchy bus stops around. I will be looking closely at my credit card statement to make sure I don't have any misc charges stemming from this. I wish I could rate this hotel a 0 out of 5. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK HAVING YOUR IDENTITY STOLEN.

It was good ....Except the bathroom DID NOT have a Fan or air Vent!! Hot water took to long to get hot to take a shower!! By the time I took a shower it was cold water!! There was only two of us!!!

Good value, worked out fine for us.

Hotel recently renovated, clean tidy room, good hotel amentities, free parking, laundry facilities and pool for kids. Within walking distance to some attractions.

The hotel was Ok..Reasonable price, room size was Ok too..Very convenient location for the price..CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, even walgreens one block away, for any quick groceries. Break fast was not that great..The surrounding neighbourhood was not that great.. may be because of the Metro station next to it..But overall a good place, for a quite reasonable price..If you have to go to Universal Studios, just catch the Metro train, and get down at universal city stop (comes after 2/3 stops).. Take the free shuttle there to the top of the hill where the studios are located.. Convenient..not a tedious commuting at all...If you have to travel to Disneyland from there, catch the metro and get down in Union station...From there catch an Amtrak to Anaheim station.. From there you can reach any hotels nearby/to Disneyland within 15 bucks...
