Very nice hotel in downtown Des Moines. Connects to all skywalks. Clean and nice spacious room.

We were very happy with our stay and would definitely stay there again. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. The rooms were very clean and very nice. When we returned to our room in the late evening, we noticed from the hallway that the people in the next room were being noisey but to our surprise it was very quiet in our room. Also very convenient having it hooked to the skywalk.

I reviewed the hotels in the Des Moines area for an overnight stay this past weekend, so we could attend the Sunday showing of "WICKED". I booked the reservation on Hotels.com and liked what I saw on the hotel site, but needlesss to say was very disappointed upon arrival. Definitely need to let your site know when things are under construction and not all the amenities are available. I was looking forward to a "FANTASTIC" night with my wife, instead I left "VERY DISAPPOINTED".

The hotel was great, the staff was world class and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Overall it's a nice place to stay overnight. My only problem was when I check in at 5pm the front desk informed me the valet parking was full...Really??...Had to find a ramp and walk back to the hotel...Not a big deal. If you like sweets make sure you go in there resturant and have the cast iron skillet cookie...OMG!!!...The best thing in town!!

The hotel is redone in art deco style. My room was comfortable, lovely, and had two bathrooms. Too bad I couldn't stay longer. It was convenient to everything downtown. Staff helpful and courteous. I would stay again and recommend others do the same.

The hotel was very clean and the staff very courteous. The hotel is near some shopping area and is conveniently located if you're downtown for business. It is not far from the East Town and the Capitol. Around the corner is Surf Restaurant, with some of the best seafood in town and maybe in the Midwest.

The hotel needs significant repair and renovation. The van driver (woman) did us a big favor by picking us up at the airport. I loaded and unloaded my own bags. The bellman walked right by me with the luggage dolly while I was carrying my bags, the air conditioning in the room did not work, the cold water handle of the faucet on the sink in the EXTREMELY small bathroom came off, when I lifted the knob on the shower faucet to turn on the shower spray the faucet came out of the wall, the housekkeepers did not understand ONE (1) word of English when I asked for an additional towel. It was truly an effort for my wife and I to enjoy our stay in Des Moines to celebrate the joyous wedding of our friend's son. Room 838 July 1 - July 4. Barry

The elevators are a little slow, and it is an older property, but that means the walls are not paper thin. It was a very quiet, restful place to stay. Wish the bathrooms were upgraded a bit more.

The room and hot tub/pool areas were very clean. The staff was friendly and the cost of room service was very reasonable. The access to Wells Fargo Arena is perfect for concerts in the winter. I didn't have to wear a coat! Old baseboard heating in the room means you have to turn up the heat quite a bit, but we were very comfortable.

The room was very clean and appealing. However, the bed was uncomfortable, the room was hot with no way of adjusting the temperature, and it was very loud in the hallways. The staff was very helpful and immediately brought a fan to the room at our request.

We always try to stay at the Savery when visiting Des Moines. It's walking distance to everything downtown and the quality of the rooms for the price can't be beat.

Great character hotel and customer service. Rooms were good size but bathrooms were a little small. Clean room and bathroom. Small indoor pool and hot tub. We could hear other toilets flushing but really wasn't a problem. Located within walking distance of many restaurants and sites.

I loved the old world elegance of this hotel. It is right downtown Des Moines and I walked to the farmers market. Everything about the place said understated elegance. Definitely would do again!!

this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It was very comfortable. The rooms were very large and have a great view of the city. It is a older hotel but is kept up like a new one. The pool is only 4 foot deep but is very nice. I will be staying there again!

The staff was extremely courteous and very helpful. It smelled fresh and clean everywhere in the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel was very good and the wait staff were very professional. The bar in the hotel was also good.

This hotel was a wonderful surprise in downtown Des Moines. We had a lovely spacious room, a King bed with a sitting area, flat screen TV, nice bathroom with an excellent shower. The staff was friendly, and, although we didn't get a chance to use the restaurant, it looked very nice from the beautiful lobby. This will be our place to stay whenever we visit our daughters in Des Moines.

This hotel was great! Our tv was broke in our room, however they upgraded us to a Suite to make sure we remained happy! They were very helpful in finding places to eat and just an overall great staff!! would definately recommend!!

Hotel staff was very nice and room was very clean. Great breakfast too. I liked that it was such a historic building and modern at the same time. My only complaint would be the toliet in the room sprayed water all over the seat when flushed.

Our room was a double queen; however, the beds were closer to full size than queen. Our room had two bathrooms, which was a nice surprise. Room itself was smaller than I expected, but the beds were very comfortable. Could not hear any noise from neighbors or hallway, which can be an issue at some hotels. Restaurant in hotel was very nice and food was very good. Would recommend.

Hotel was very accomodating as we needed to check in quite early because of a canceled track meet. The room was great. The place was quiet. The kids enjoyed the pool and spa area very much. Breakfast was very good as well.

This hotel is a wonderful one. They have maintained her in great shape. The room was very nice and service excellent. I definitely will do again. Within walking distance to the riverwalk, state historical society, state capitol, and the farmer's market.
