Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas All Inclusive - كابو سان لوكاس

The hotel looks fantastic in the pictures. Very large and not user friendly. Beach at this hotel is not for swimming and is basically red flagged every day. Even water taxi's or water sports are difficult from this beach. Biggest draw back is the location,so far away from everything. They charge minimal $12 to go anywhere, even the Costco just a few minutes away. To get to town its a hike and due to construction the traffic is terrible. Staff was pleasant and the food was nice. Drinks watered but the service was good at the bars and pool. Entertainment was pretty boring, not professional, basically the hotel staff dancing and lip singing. Worse policy was the one towel only at pool and they charge you if you don't return it so be very careful. Cabo is an entertaining town, relatively inexpensive so it was still a good vacation.

Food and drinks were as expected. Room was very clean and nice. The layout of the hotel is awful as its huge and requires so much effort to get to the lobby or pool etc. Very few elevators, plan on walking a large amount of granite stairs daily. Staff was always kind and friendly. Worse policy of having a card to get a towel and only one allowed per person. Simply too hot to sit in a chaise lounge with one meager towel. No amount of tipping or begging will get you a second and if you lose your towel or towel card you will have to pay a huge amount of money no exceptions. So guard it!! Night shows were not worth watching except for the one night audience members participated. Far drive from everything, $12 minimum to get out of there and $85 to airport. Ocean very rough and usually red flagged. The hotel has a deep ocean front not conducive to swimming or water taxi's.

The Riu Palace was a beautiful property to stay at, but I have several complaints. We had an ocean front junior suite, which was nice, but every morning we were awoken to the guy on the four wheeler combing the sand on the beach (even in the dark!) Also the woman who slapped the mats on the layout chairs was noisy. Plus, I found the beds too hard for my liking. I have osteoarthritis in my knees, and this place was a nightmare for me with all of the steps. It was three sets of steps to get up to the main lobby, and these were sets of of like 25 steps each (I should have counted). I would not have stayed there knowing this. Another thing, they request you to reserve your nighttime restaurant times in the very early am, which was fine. They only let you reserve 2 nights at a time. Our first night was for the fine dining Krystal restaurant, and we were given a time and we had met some friends that day and requested later if we could include the other 2 people (who were also guests of the hotel), and we were told that the restaurant was full. That was a line of BS. It was not even half full. Food was ok. I liked the buffet-good omelets and super good guacamole! I found the resort to be very clean. One more item, towels were located at the other end of the property-they should have had them conveniently located by both pools. It was a lot of walking and a ton of stairs. Am not sure if I would stay there again because of these elements

The Riu Palace was an incredible place with excellent food and the best customer service. I highly recommend this place and plan to return on another vacation.

My friend and I stayed here for four nights. It was my first all inclusive experience, and I think I might just not be the type. We had an ocean front room which was wonderful, but like other reviewers posted, you can hear everything in the hallways and outside, the room was slightly musty smelling, and the beds were hard. That said, it was great to fall sleep to the sounds of the ocean. Drinks... Extremely watered down. We drank quite a bit and never once experienced a buzz:( Not sure how they do it, but that was a let down. Service was very attentive however. Food... Okay. Breakfast buffet was decent. The Japanese place was pretty bad, but Krystal and San Jose were decent. Gym...decent, but not up to American standards. Great views though! Overall, the staff was very attentive and the hotel was very well kept.

I have traveled alot (4th time to Mexico) but this is the first time we stayed in an all inclusive so I did not know what to expect. With all locations you have your pros and cons: Pros: - Clean - Good location not far from town (shopping, restaurants, night life - $12 cab to town; we rented a car in order to drive to public beach to go snorkeling - which was excellent). - Very friendly staff who work many hours per day and still have a smile on their face - tip them even though its not required. - View from ocean front room was gorgeous. - Pools are large and clean. - We went last week and the weather was perfect. - A very large selection of food, buffet for breakfast is probably the best meal offered. You will never go hungry. - We thought the price was good because we would normally spend a couple hundred per day on just food and drink somewhere else. - I really liked having the option to eat or drink 24 hours a day without having to worry about carrying $ around to pay for it. Made things very simple and relaxing which is what vacation should be. Cons: - The overall taste of the food was OK. Most items did not taste like what I thought they would. We went to town a couple nights for sushi dinner instead of going to one of the higher end restaurants at the resort. - The beds are hard and uncomfortable but I guess some people may like that. - I am not sure if the hard liquor was watered down but something was different from what I am use to tasting. - Depending on who you interact with, their can be a language barrier. Very good to know Spanish. We had difficult time ordering food from room service and received the wrong orders. Overall, we had a very nice time.

Overall the service and quality & selection of food is great. But the rooms are a little too small considering the fact that the hotel is furthest from the action (Marina / Downtown). Moreover the deal-breaker was that they have no Internet access in the rooms. Only in a common area. This was the biggest pain point. Also we paid for the ocean view room, and the hotel was pretty vacant when we were there, they won't give us any room with real ocean view (only ocean facing). I was told that if you get good deal (discount) from online site like hotels.com et. al. you don't really get assigned nicer rooms. So that was a bummer. We stayed 3 nights at Riu and then 4 nights at Casa Dorada. I can tell you that the stay at Casa Dorada was far better than Riu. Next time we visit Cabo I would look for any hotel that is closer to the Marina as that's where all of the activities happen.

The Riu Palace was my first all inclusive experience, and it was a great one! We were greeted with "welcome" mimosas as we got out of our taxi & proceeded to check in. There were list of employees there to help when we arrived so the check in process was a breeze. The food at the buffet was good, great variety but nothing over the top. For the specialty restaurants I would suggest making reservations as soon as you get there. We ate at the San Jose & Misaki, they were good. Overall, the drinks were decent. I would stick to beer & shots though. The food was good, the service was FANTASTIC! Please bring dollars to tip the staff because they were great! I would definitely recommend staying here!!! Also, water aerobics at noon is SO much fun!

The Riu is a beautiful hotel, in a great location. You never, ever get tired of that beautiful view. Only about one mile from city center & marina. There is a mall in town that is worth a visit. The rooms are pretty large, the only complaint is that the beds are a little on the hard side. The food is great, and the amount, and variety is unbelieveable! The staff is super helpful, all in all I think it's a great place for the price, I would definately stay there again. Highly recomend!

We found the hotel to be nice; however two items detracted from the stay. The food was average overall. The other detraction was the fact that our AC unit in our room worked off and on and was not reliable. The local is good and the scenary is great.

Very unhappy with this hotel, overpriced for the food and beverages. No one is this hotel chain takes any responsibility for anything. Very hard to make reservations to speciality restaurants, but not worth it anyway. The sushi restaurant was the worst. I booked this thru Hotels.com but when I needed to extend our stay I couldn't get any help from from desk or reservation center. Then they proceeded to charge me an outrageous amount per night. Rooms are uncomfortable with no pull out couch but will let you have 3 people in a room. We went on spring break trip but my daughters friends were not able to come to out hotel without paying a 100$ fee. Also shows are terrible, lip-snyched Grease and Mamma Mia. Drugs used very open in night club so not a good place for young adults. There was nothing that I enjoyed about this hotel.

We've been to the RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas number of times and love the RIU hotels . The service is awesome and the prices aren't bad .The food was Very good , the only problem we had this time was water pressure This one is an older RIU Palace and they were have problems with the toilets and showers .

Where to start?? The food: not good - except the fresh fruits in the buffet - the 4 other restaurants of the resort are not even worth trying - so we ended up in town a couple of times. The drinks? what we expected from an all inclusive - bottom shelf - the beers in the fridge were a nice touch but we were expecting mini bottles of vodka / gin / rum instead of the tacchy / cheezy full cheap bottles displayed bar style behind a locked cabinet The room: made cheap - just not comfortable The hotel: except the main entry which gets you excited - all is made cheap The beach: probably the worse beach chairs ever, beach towels available only if you give them the beach towel card - so everybody is so anxious about those towel - beyond the "hotel line" on the beach - hustlers harassing you all the time - jetski - water taxi - tshirts - come on... The ambiance: can't put my finger on it but not great, not a place to go crazy and def not a place to relax and be quiet... The service: nice waitstaff but when it came to helping - like transportation - anything money related - forget the help - it feels like they'll lose their job if they help you and it costs somebody a dime. The pools: no hot tub !! The gym: nice view but old equipment Lessons learned: dont trust the stars and do you home work.

You can find the goos stuff about this resort in other reviews, like pools, location, view, friendly staff... There are two downsides to this resort though: 1- Food is "OK", unless you book one of the four restaurants, which then the food is "good" 2- Rooms can be "extremely" noisy. In the sense that even when some one walks in the hallway, you can hear it as if there are no walls/doors IMPORTANT: DO NOT accept to visit another resort in the airport in exchange of free gifts. It is a loooong time share presentation that everybody is trying to get you there

There are 2 mirror hotels with the pools separating both! The exterior areas including the pools are beautiful and well maintained. Reservations for the four on site restaurants are highly recommended. There are 2 breakfast/lunch restaurants that dont require reservations. The food served here is very good. Great selections and great service. My only complaint is the room. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything! We had neighbors who at 3-4am were still partying in their room. Yelling, whistling you name it. Security was called and they came promptly. But this continued 3 out of 5 nights of our stay.

Staff was excellent throughout the resort. Food was plentiful. There was something for everyone to eat. regardless of your preference. Room was comfortable and the view was awesome. The only problem was the room was located above the disco which closed between 1:30 and 2:00 each night. It would not have been a problem if you planned on going to the disco. By not going, it was very disturbing as the noise was loud and constant.. Definiitely would recommend the resort with another room.

I have cancer. We came here by way of a wedding, and looking for a family vacation where we could rest, and enjoy precious time with each other as family members, yet some intimate personal space too. This marvelous setting afforded that. It's very beautiful, clean, impeccably groomed grounds. Friendly, accommodating staff. We had young children with us, so the several buffet options was great. We traded-off child-care (although the hotel has that service) for our sons & wives to enjoy an intimate dinner in the by-reservation restaurants. Excellent food & service. We appreciated the option of the dedicated quiet pool /side of the grounds (whereour rooms were located) for children's naps and some quiet-time for grandma too. We also enjoyed the wide clean beach area. Those selling their wares were respectful of our "No thank you's". The mid-week evening shows had a child component at the outset which was a nice touch. Good, clean fun. Arrangements were easy to make for para-sailing or zip-lining off-site. Jet-ski, horse-back riding, water-taxi all available by vendors at the beach. Hotel location was convenient to Costco & Walmart for diaper & other supplies. The security of the hotel area was appreciated as well--not just anyone can drive in. I only wish we lived closer, to enjoy a return visit!

If you stay here just know they have NO coke or any premium liquors. They have watered down drinks and all they have is pepsi. The food is nasty and we had to go into town to get good food. Do not stay here at all. There are alot nicer hotels down toward mango beach!

This hotel is excellent! First of all, to check-in was literally a 10 min process. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, and the drinks there were fantastic. We originally had a problem with our room but the manager was very helpful and got us to a new room with no problem. The resort is beautiful and something is always being cleaned there. Our room was cleaned twice a day. There are only to downfalls- the food was very mediocre and the rooms were very average. Although the it is all-inclusive only look forward to taking advantage of the drinks. The drinks are endless and you can always find an open bar. The resort is not far from downtown but I wouldnt suggest walking. A cab ride is short but costs about $15. Oh yeah and taxis are located on site so one is always available for you in less than a minute. Our stay was fantastic and we look forward to staying here again in the future.

RIU Palace in Cabo is an all inclusive resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Overall, the hotel was average, but don't come to the hotel for the food. Now, the buffet was not bad, but the food options did not exist. When we arrived, we were told that all of the hotels restaurants were booked during our stay, which forced us to eat a buffet each day. We were able to get one vacation by getting up early at 6:30 am during our vacation and standing in line for a reservation. The food situation was not as advertised and very disappointing. Also, I travel a lot, and the beds were terrible. Hard as a rock and kind size beds. Kings are just two twins pushed together with separate bedding. Not a recommended hotel for a romantic trip.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon. It was the most romantic week we have ever had. The hotel was clean, the pools were nice, the all-inclusive was as expected. The staff was helpful and well-mannered. Overall, it was a very good experience and i would recommend it to any one.

Food and service was great! Can't wait to go back!

Excellent installations, clean, beautiful, evryone was very nice, no too far from city no too close so it was not crowed. Beach in front and currents are too strong for small children. Teens and up is fine as long as you know swing. go to near by Medano beach (walking distance) and beach little easier or go rent a boat and go to "playa del amor" if have small kids.

Overall I think anyone will be pleased to stay here. Pros: 1. The property is lovely. 2. The staff are very helpful especially if you try to speak some spanish. 3. The daytime activities are good. The food was great but ONLY in the upstairs main dining hall Jose Manuel is the best employee in dining hall he was nice before he knew we'd tip him. 4. Not too far from the land's end arch and not too far from town for clubbing and shopping, like $10 cab ride. 5. The maid service is excellent. There were no previous hairs to be found, room was clean! Now for precautions, in Mexico, drink bottled water only that means no ice, sorry! I brought along probiotics from Whole Foods and took them 3 times a day. There were some stomach discomfort the first 2 days but probiotics did kick in swiftly, I took them before eating. Brush your teeth with bottled water. Keep shower water out of your mouth. I did not get sick in Cabo. Now the Cons: 1. I saw a roach at downstairs dining hall near pool. I had to eat, so I ate at main dining hall and it was amazing. 2.The rooms are average for a Jr. Suite. Nothing reminded me of a "suite" but I am spoiled. 3. The ocean is too rough to play and ridiculously cold (March 2010). 4. No real night time activities. Go to town for clubbing if young crowd (many bars by Squid Row bar). Older crowd they have a show at RIU and a kind of club. So for a safe all inclusive hotel, I suggest RIU Palace!!!

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Palace for a wedding that was being held at the sister hotel (Santa Fe). We chose the Palace over the Santa Fe based on the fact we could use both properties and the facilities looked a little nicer. We were extremely happy with our choice and would recommend the Palace to anyone. We have been to many all inclusives and we were very pleased with the food selection, views of the ocean, and convenience to all the services. Word of advice - Barter!! We were able to save $$ on all of the water sports by offering $10 to $20 less. We took a shuttle to and from the airport for $15 per person. The staff was very friendly and we will definitely look at other Riu propoerties when considering our next destination.

Not the nicest all inclusive I have stayed at, but very solid all the same. Rooms were comfortable. Food was good (Japanese restaurant was great). Great pool bar, gorgeous views abound. Gym was a little run down. Big property that easily handles lots of people. No problem getting lounge chairs by the pool. Pleasant staff.

This is our second stay at this hotel because the first time was so totally enjoyable. Although it's about 45 minutes from the airport the drive is not unpleasant and there's variety to look at. This time we chose a room that was less expensive and still found it excellent. The bathroom was big, very clean and there are plenty of big, fluffy towels. There are many choices for food and we found it all very good. The staff continues to be especially friendly and helpful and I'm sure we'll go back again for another five day vacation.

I have used Hotels.com for rooms all over the world and as usual it was easy to book this particular hotel. We've been to Cabo several times and stayed at 4 star hotels but thought we'd try an "all inclusive" to see what it was like. I can't say enough good things about the staff, the attention to details in the decor, the cleanliness both inside and out and the food. Our room was perfect, exactly what was described and the facility is so big that we never once felt as if there were many people there. We stayed at the hotel for the entire week, wanting to relax, swim and read so I don't know about "outside" activities or how long it would take to get to them. We plan to go back and would suggest it to anyone. MC

Были приятно удивлены кухней, разнообразием и вкусом блюд. Хочется отметить качество напитков, огромный выбор свежевыжатых соков, фруктов. Внимательный персонал, ненавязчивый, но очень качественный сервис. Профессиональная анимация, вечерние шоу были сделаны на хорошем профессиональном уровне. В общем, мы остались довольны всем в отеле от момента приезда и до отъезда в аэропорт. Единственное, что, возможно, может смутить туристов, которые привыкли совмещать пляжный отдых с историческими или другими познавательными экскурсиями, то это отсутствие таковых. В ближайшей округе нет известных всему миру достопримечательностей, красивых городов, исторических мест. Отдых, действительно, получился пляжный, чему мы были очень рады, так как накануне мы путешествовали по Калифорнии и получили огромное количество информации, эмоций и т.п. Океан в этом месте - завораживающее зрелище. Рекомендуем этот отель людям, которые ценят комфорт. Мы впервые отдыхали в отеле из сети Riu, нам о-о-о-чень понравилось. Обязательно будем отдыхать в отелях этой сети еще иеще, благо, что они представлены в разных странах и на разных континентах.

Os funcionários que nos atendem são muito atenciosos , cuidado com seus pertences dentro do restaurante principal "El Medano" pois minha filha esqueceu uma pequena bolsa neste restaurante a noite , já estava fechado, não havia dinheiro na bolsa mas um documento e cópia de passaporte e não conseguimos reaver nada , é necessário instruir bem os funcionários quanto a devoluçao de pertences esquecidos por hóspedes. Quanto ao hotel é muito lindo e animado com shows e musica toda a noite, bem recomendado para crianças e jovens e familias.
