Great price for a really superb hotel, stylish, spacious, great location. I have to go to Madrid for work this year often, plan to stay there every time.

Walking distance to most of Madrid's main attractions. Friendly staff. Lounge on main floor is a great spot for relaxing and people watching while having some drinks. Room was modern, spacious and very comfortable. Would book this hotel again without question.

Has everything you need and nothing you don't. Stylish and great, this hotel is a perfect place to stay in Madrid.

Great location, walking distance to all the tourist attractions. Metro very close also. Good overall service.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a very good deal for the breakfast. We particularly liked the lounge area which is bright with a good outlook on to the street scene, and excellent, reasonably priced drinks were provided. It is a haven of peace and comfort after a busy day sight seeing. The hotel acceded to our request for a quiet room. All in all excellent

Hotel de las Letras was thoroughly delightful--from its prime location to spacious and well-designed rooms. I would certainly stay there again.

Comfortable hotel, very close to the Metro. The room was very comfortable. Great shower. I have not one complaint, it was a great visit!

Our 4th time in Madrid and booked this hotel to be a little closer to the attractions, restaurants and night life. PERFECT location GREAT staff and TERRIFIC room. Upgraded to a terrace suite for Eur35/night which included breakfast for 2 delivered to the room and internet - so a great deal just for that. However, the terrace was a haven in the midst of the city. Great private space with superb views and what a great find! Will DEFINITELY return here when next in Madrid. Staff helpful to a fault and showed us choice of rooms prior to the upgrade. Printed boarding cards for us. Booked restaurants and shows - gaveexcellent advice and always super friendly. Hotel decor very modern and stylish within a 100 year old building. Bathroom and room spotless with double sinks, raindrop shower and luxurious towels and robes.

The hotel was within walking distance to all sights and shopping - making it very convenient for touring Madrid. No difficulty with water temperature or water pressure. The restaurant food quality and presentation was excellent. A complimentary appetizer sample was a nice surprise and delicious. The only negative of the hotel was the lighting in the room. The lamps were very dim. In the evening it was difficult to see in the room. It was especially difficult to distinguish items in your suitcase.

We liked this modern stylish hotel. The lobby was under construction so we had to hang out in roof terrace but otherwise great. Great location close to sights and metro and even Starbucks. Good wifi.

Well located to all top 10 sights. Walking distance to The Prado and The Thyssen art museums. 1+ blocks to the Gran Via Metro. 4 blocks to Puerta del Sol. 10 minute walk from Plaza Cibelles where the Airport bus stops. Clean hotel with a quiet library and computer available. Room was spacious by European standards. Did not take advantage of the hotel bar but it looked good.

An excellent hotel in an excellent location. Very clean, quiet and stylish. The bed was a bit too soft for my taste and the hotel was being renovated. There were no books in the library and the gym and the spa were not in operation.

This is one of the nicest hotels where I have ever stayed. Everything was clean and very pretty. We had our own balcony overlooking the street. I could not have been happier with this hotel. The ceilings in the room were really high, and the color scheme was amazing.

Large room with fine linens and amenities. Clean bathroom with nice toilet items. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very courteous staff and prompt service.

the hotel staff were informative, friendly, kind and willing to take the time needed to accommodate english speaking guests. we received excellent services from travel, shopping, dining and the sites to see in the area. we recommend this hotel unconditionally and thank all the staff for their exceptional service.

The hotel is in the heart of Madrid which is very convenient. It is an old building which is renovated but the old stile is preserved and the mix of old and modern style is quite cool. The roof top palace is very nice to hang out and have a drink before going out. When we arrived our room had smoky smell so we had to change room. The breakfast is pricey (16€) compared to the cafes in the streets but it was quite good. There is no Spa area. Las Lettres is an excellent place to stay for a weekend trip.

Very modern re-decarted rooms, high ceilings and spacious, in an old building. Excellent location for site seeing close to old town Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Espana, etc. The out door terrace bar on the roof was delightful and is a must if you go. We took the metro from the airport to one block away from the hotel (40 minutes and three changes) and the yellow Ali bus from two blocks away back to Barajas airport -- the bus was easier and we got to see more of Madrid. We would definitely go again.

Beautiful old details (doors, iron decoration) in the common areas, combined with crisp, spacious modern rooms and friendly service made this a great place to stay in central Madrid. The rooftop terrace bar was a great place to have a drink and relax. Highly recommended.

Really great hotel in a central location, on a main shopping street (Gran Via) and across from the Chueca area of the city. Rooms were compact, but with high ceilings and spacious bathrooms. Nice bath products and free w-fi. Street facing room was a little noisy, although the glass was all double-paned--didn't bother us, but might bother someone who is really sensitive to sound. The flip side was we had a French balcony that overlooked the Gran Via which was a lovely trade-off.

The only con (if you can call it a con) is that the hotel was a little older and you might notice it here and there. BUT, it is not a big deal, because there are so many great things about De Las Letras H&R. Great location – it is literally in the city center and walking distance to nearly everything. There are at least 2 metro stops within two blocks. We walked everywhere and had no problems seeing all the sights. The only time we took a metro was to visit the business district. The hotel was clean and our room was very interesting. I really liked it, and it was the largest room of the three hotels we stayed in during our visit to Spain. Oh, and having a balcony was really nice too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Check-in and checkout was easy. The price was great and the restaurant was excellent too. Usually I don’t spend time in the hotel bar or restaurant, but I did stop in this one a couple of times. Mixed drinks are pricey, but wine and sushi (yes, sushi) were priced moderately. Overall, I really liked the fact that this hotel was slightly offbeat, using vibrant colors in the rooms and blue lights in the elevator. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Very nice hotel! Great bed, pillows, linens, bathroom and towels. Great location, nice bar at the street leve.

Reception staff are the best. They are knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasant despite how busy they are. We liked our room and the convenient bathroom. The only suggestion would be that more light be available in the room as needed.

Cool hotel with great bar and restaurant and the best sheets ever in a fabulous neighborhood in Madrid. An excellent value.

On the face of it Las Letras is a great deal. The hotel is in a superb location, has excellent fast internet, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is also very professional. However, both the road noise and the extremely noisy restaurant below make it a hard place to get a good nights sleep.

We stayed at this hotel five years ago and decided to return because of the location and the very friendly staff. We were not disappointed. It is very noisy if you stay on the Grand Via side, so ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. We would stay again, if ever in Madrid.

Started out well and got better: early check-in to a spacious, stylish room with a specatcular balcony view of the Gran Via (Madrid's Broadway). The location afforded easy walking access to all of the city's sights, and the front desk was quite helpful when called upon. The room was large and very clean, with high ceilings. It was equipped with a safe, and a small flat-screen TV (3 english-language news channels provided a welcome connection home). The free wifi worked well throughout my stay. Large bathroom with giant towels, a full-size tub and generous water pressure was another welcome touch. Housekeeping actually made room in the minibar fridge to accommodate my healthy diet purchases. If you don't enjoy the sounds of the city like I do, the busy street below might not appeal, althought It was suitably quiet at night. The view overshadowed the busy daytime soundtrack by a mile . Highly recommended, would return and recommend in a heartbeat!

The location of this hotel is excellent. The room was good, but we were facing the main street and there was noise. But really not that bad, and you are just steps away from good restaurants and bars. The front desk staff was very helpful, and they spoke English.

The hotel De Las Letras is in a very convenient location and easy to get to from the airport by the airport bus or the metro with a few transfers. It is close to shopping areas and the main museums are all easy to walk to. The hotel entry on the Gran Via does not reflect the very nice style and design of the interior and rooms. The room was large roomy and clean and the hotel had a very chic bar /restaurant on the ground floor.

The hotel is undergoing renovations to the exterior and was very hard to find despite being in such a central location - it was partly covered in scaffolding and bore no resemblance to the picture shown on the internet. We were looking for it with a native 'madrilena' friend and ended up abandoning the car and searching on foot - very frustrating! The location (once we eventually found it!!) was very central for walking to all the main tourist sights. The room was ok - not over large but adequate for a couple of nights. A minor annoyance - the lack of decent central lighting meant that you had to have the bathroom door open to use the light from there if you wished to do anything other than read in bed. A nice hotel overall but I would choose another one if I was in Madrid again.

The Hotel position is really good, but the hotel room was totally unconfortable: almost no light, and "moving" bed with small wheels that made me impossible to sleep, plus the absence of rolling shutters.

I loved staying at Las Letras on the Gran Via in Madrid. The location is good and for the price, the quality of the room cannot be beat. The room was spacious, the large King size bed was comfortable with down quilt and down pillows. The bathroom had two sinks and was beautifully modern with a heating towel rack. The only small complaint I had was the lack of any bright lighting in the room, which we found was true all throughout Spain.
