Sorell Hotel Rütli - زيورخ

We only stayed the one night but the room was nice and close to the rail station. My only complaint was the free wi-Fi code was only valid for one device and my wife and I had to continue to coordinate its use.

The hotel is newly renovated with all the conveniences, and an excellent breakfast. The staff were polite and helpful. I had a problem with getting the air conditioner to function as it was humid and warm in the room. It was not possible to leave the window open because of the street noise. A set of simple instructions for the a/c or heater would be helpful. Rooms facing away from the street would be more desirable.

This is a great little hotel in an excellent location. Close to train station and all of historic Zurich. Free breakfast is good. Be careful with on-street parking, if you can find it. The hotel staff told me I could exceed 2 hrs as long as I kept putting money in...but I got a ticket for doing so.

Hotel is located right next to the train station and tram central. Excellent location! Although most things in Zurich are within walking distance, it's easy to hop onto a tram or bus to get to your destination! Breakfast is delicious and you can pair it with a glass of bubbly.

Had a great time, hotel very good and convenient for all restaurants and shops.

Hotel was good, location great quiet and central. Comfy bed, nice both room. Good for business trip. Didn't like having to always have to re-log into wifi but not unusual for Europe. Staff not always around in the evening, that was wierd.

The bed was kind of hard and the shower was rather small but for the price and location, it was a great hotel. Conveniently located about two hundred yards from the main train station (HB), you can access much of what Zurich and the surrounding area has to offer.

How convenient. 10 minute walk to train station, near the old city and artisanal shopping. Very good restaurants with a lot of choice just minutes away walking. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The continental breakfast offered had plenty of choice by Euro standards. Will stay here again when in Zurich.

The Hotel Ruetli is part of a European hotel chain, and is very much a European type hotel in that the room is somewhat small and a bit spartan, but entirely comfy and super clean. Additionally, this hotel's "signature" is that it is decorated with "street art," for example, my room had a huge, colorful grafitto on one wall akin to to what you might see on the side of an IRT subway car or the wall of an underpass. And each room is different and has free postcards featuring the art in that particular room. Tres avant-guarde. But the location is very near the main train station (which has innumerable trains to the airport) and it's only a brief walk to many sites such as the shopping on Banhofstrasse and the main art museum (Kunshaus). It serves a plain but adequate continental breakfast to guests, and no other meals, but there are many eateries very close to the hotel; I found the Starbucks a few doors down to be helpful as it was very cold when I was there and it also has much more hearty fare than in the States. (The hotel rooms have their own thermostats and plenty of heat!).

An easy walk from the train station and shopping areas. The only drawback for us was the breakfast buffet, which had minimal offerings compared to most European hotels. The expresso machine in the room was a plus. Those who need a sweet bun to get underway in the morning can purchase one at the nearby Coop grocery or Starbucks, and then enjoy i with expresso before heading for the buffet.

This hotel has a very good location. It is close to the train station and the main shopping area. It also borders on the area where the nightlife takes place and it is fairly close to the fabulous Kunsthaus Museum of Art. Room are small and oddly shaped -- the ceiling is very low in some parts of the room and I kept hitting my head. The breakfast (included in the room charge) was very mediocre compared to other hotels in Switzerland. And it wasn't cheap.

You will not get a better location. Easy 5 min from train station. When you leave the station you go over the bridge and cross one street then go to the over side of the street (to the right) then when you cross go left and the next street is the one you want and is like the fifth door on the right. Very clean and when you leave the hotel take a right on the next street and that is where you will find all the restaurants.

The hotel has been renovated to a high standard with red carpet throughout the hallways. Single room was small but spotless and comfortable for a short stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly for the most part. Hotel is near to all transport and sightseeing so cannot really complain. Lovely but expensive city.

The worst breakfast in two weeks in Europe. Other than Ok hotel but not more.

We only stayed one night at this hotel. It is convient to the train station and also in a good, fun area with air conditioning something you will not find so easily in Switzerland. The breakfast was good. The hotel front desk staff was very lacking in information about the area and didn't communicate well in English (as comparied to all the other hotels we stayed at in Switzerland). We were delighted that when we checked in early they had a room available for us. After going to the room we saw that the floors had not been cleaned and the bathroom floor was gross with many hairs on the floor plus the mirror was not clean. It gave me the feeling that they just wiped down the sink and put in clean towels. It took everything I had to step into the tub. It looked clean but since the other areas had not been clean how was I to know if the tub was. Also, the toliet didn't have the usual paper tag on it that said it was clean like all the other hotels did that we stayed at for this trip. We told the front desk staff that the room needed to be clean and then we went out for a couple of hours and returned to the hotel to rest for awhile. While taking a nap the hotel maid came in to clean. This was over 4 hrs. after I had reported to the front desk about the need to clean. I just told her to vacuum the bathroom floor and that was all because we were sleeping. Ck out restaurant The Hilt & the train station. It's hugh

I really like this hotel but they charge a lot of money for 3 hours to use the internet! So unless they sort this out I wont be staying again. I very much like the rooms and location, but if I need to work, I cant sit in the lobby to use the internet! And paying 15 CHF for 3 hours is a total rip-off! I have not been charged for internet for such a long time that I was shocked when they asked!

Very small room. Not worth the price. Not much options re: free breakfast buffet. Hot food was not an option. Open your window and the view is an office building opposite. Saying that, smack dab in the center of the city. Saying that pt 2, wouldn't book this hotel if I went back to Zurich. There are better.

I enjoyed my stay here. I thought there was free wifi but not available in the room. Only in the lobby and breakfast area. The hotel is accessable to all the shops and restaurants in the area.

The hotel was very good with a good continental breakfast, although it would have been good to have had a toaster.All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. If you catch the number 10 tram from the Airport and get off at 'Central', cross over the road towards Starbucks and then take the road to the left and the hotel is on the right hand side about 50 metres up.

Hotel was clean and comfortable and close to all the main sights. Room fairly basic though air conditioning a plus. Breakfast choice fair. Represented reasonable value for Zurich which is an extremely expensive city for non Swiss to visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. However bottom line is a hotel similar in terms of quality and facilities would be available for half the outlay in neighbouring Germany or Italy.

I regularly travel to Zurich for work. I took a last minute room at Ruetli and it was a welcome surprise. The rooms are really nice, and well designed. the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is well designed. When compared to other places in Zurich, I will definitely keep coming back here from now on as the service and room quality was so much better than many of the brand name places that I have stayed in previously.

Rooms are very small but clean. Breakfast is typical European breakfast. Very good location for shopping, restraunants and short walk to main train station

Aircondition was complicated to understand and did not find a manual. Design and style of room very nice, lobby area pretty ordinary

I find this to be a great place to stay - it is reasonably priced (at least for Zurich), clean, and in great location for walking through the city. It does have some downsides: the street is noisy, and if you have your window open, you may notice cigarette smoke. That is just about unavoidable in the city though. For the price, this hotel offers a great location, simple but clean room, and a nice breakfast. That makes it hard to beat.

everything about the hotel was great, from location, staff, service, etc. Except, i hated paying so much for use of the wifi

Wooden floors in rooms made things a little noisy. But otherwise fine. Room stylish. Breakfast good

Weekend stay as a couple. Very pleased with hotel, it's service and design of the room. Car park round the corner.

For a basic hotel, this will do the trick. The location is excellent, a few blocks from the main train station, but one block off of the main roads so you don't hear the traffic at night. The beds were plush and the room nice and clean, but minimal. The only negative was not having internet in the room.

I and my family were very happy with the location ref station. The hotel was well managed with very helpful staff. Just one problem I left a black jumper with white line on shelf in room 106. Any chance of having it back?...I will pay the cost of packaging and post. Await advice.

The hotel rooms were excellent. It may have been a difficult weekend but the front of house staff were quite gruff and unwelcoming. I had a friend with mobility issues who had found the short walk from the station quite arduous (particularly with our luggage) and we needed a taxi back to the station in the early morning. Despite my explaining why we needed a taxi for such a short distance, and that we would tip a taxi driver generously for his trouble, the front of house person was almost scoffing in his reply: just walk, it's short! They DID call the cab for us but as service goes it was the least hospitable hotel on a 4 week trip.

Access by car, access to Zurich on foot. Simply the Best position and a food hotel. What more can you wish for?

Relatively central location, easy accessible from Railway station. Strange interior of room, ok personell, rather simple breakfast, quite a few hotels in the area, wouldn´t pick this one the next time though

I was surprised to see how close it was to the train station which is crucial for a businessman or tourist.

Although the neighborhood is on the edge of sketchy (we were propositioned by the hookers down the street two nights in a row), the hotel was clean and modern and well priced. It is also a very brief walk to most locations of interest to tourists. I would stay there again.

Staff was unfriendly. It was X'mas day when we checked-in and we wished her and did not say a word but give off a 'forcedl' smile. Toiletries like shampoo were not replenish daily. We were given only one tiny bottle on first day of check-in and that's it, taking into consideration that there were three of us sharing the room despite paying extra CHF60+ for extra person. At breakfast, coffee was served by the staff. So, when ask for second cup of coffee, they were unhappy. Wi-fi was not available anywhere in the hotel unless you pay CHF10 for half hour. Surprisingly the type of service we received as Switzerland is a place where people go there to study hospitality. We will never stay in the hotel again.

I've stayed in this neighborhood previously at a different hotel - would stay at the Ruetli again. Very satisfied - can't beat the price for the cleanliness & location,
