Jin jiang Metropole Hotel Shanghai - شنغهاي

Overall not a bad hotel. The location is great. Walking distance to the Bund, Peace Hotel and several nice restaurants. Would not recommend the breakfast at the hotel.

Jin Jiang Shanghai - small room (901) for same proce as much bigger rooms on other floors. Disappointed in size of room. Also stayed in jin jiang Kunming. Jin Jiang Kunming had a bar fridge but IT WAS EMPTY = bad impression of all Jin Jiang hotels. I stayed in Kunming and bar was empty both times yet had to pay 300 yan deposit. For what? Unable to spend any thing on Bar fridge if it is empty.

The hotel is well kept. It looks like tyou are in the 1920's. Most of the hotel do not speak a word of English. The location could not be better. Be careful with the freebies offer you when you sign in; at the end they will charge you for it. We stayed there for a couple of weeks but the mentallity of the upper management perneates the rest of the staff. Customer service is a foreign thing to them. I come to Shanghai often; doubt will ever stayed there again!! We just moved out to a different hotel

You cannot beat the price in the Jin Jang Metropole. Two minutes from the bund, close to the House of Blues restaurant, and Shanghai Grandmother's Restaurant. We stay here every time we go to Shanghai which is plenty.

The location is good being near the Bund and Nanjing Rd. A metro station is 3 blocks away. The front desk service was efficient but indifferent compared to other places we stayed in China. Rooms were reasonably large and clean and comfortable. The executive rooms were reasonable value as they included breakfast and free internet. Internet access was ethernet only, no wireless unless you are able to signup to China Mobile.

I booked one of the Executive rooms including breakfast and free broadband, and would recommend the slightly higher price for the package - breakfast is not amazing but ok, broadband can otherwise be expensive; but mainly I think these are the better rooms. Mine was on a higher floor level facing the square in front of the hotel. The Metropole and the ensemble of buildings around the square are quite special architecturally, and the stepped towers frame the road intersection in front of the hotel to make a great theatre... if you like to watch lots of people on ridiculously overladen bicycles and motor rollers (I did). I found the bed very comfortable (hard, yes), the decor is not new but atmospheric, and the staff were not exactly extroverted but always helpful and friendly.

Convenient location within walking distance of the Bund and Nanjing Rd. The hotel is what you'd expected for its age. Air Conditioning did not work too well for autumn. I'd imagine the temperature would be stiffling during summer. Room service is restricted to 9pm, which may not be much of an inconvenience to some.

Apart from the good location, the room is clean and service staffs served me were friendly and helpful. Safe neighbourhood, walking distance to Yu Yuan and Nanjing Road. Very near to the bund. Breakfast provided was very simple and breakfast.

I thought it was very basic for the price. I felt safe as a single woman traveller at the hotel and in the surrounding neighbourhood but the room was not great. I didn't mind the hard bed (same as most places), there was lots of tea and a fridge, the bathroom was pretty good, but the room decor was faded, the carpet was a bit nasty (though they provided slippers), there were cigarette burns in some of the furniture. The outside of the building has character, the lobby isnt bad but not much else to recommend it- a pay for use gym, no pool, limited foreign channels (2-3). Only one of the front desk staff was friendly.

This hotel is showng its age as a result of years of service but its proced appropriately adn location is excellent. Just over a block to the Bund and a 8 minute walk to the pedestrian area of Nanjing Road. The porters were exceptionally pleasant and very humbling. Paid the porter a tip and he was genuinely grateful.They helped with taxis as required.Overall I think this hotel is good for money and location just dont expect it to be equipped with the latest carpet and curtains. The bed was firm as always in Asia. The linen was clean and faultless.A deposit of 300 yuan was required at check in in either loacl currency or by credit card. No hassle getting that refunded on departure

The condition of this hotel is not that good. I understand they are undergoing some renovation, which I seen some rooms have renovated and are in good shape. However the rest of the rooms are in bad shape. The only good thing about this room is location, walking distance to the bund.

This modest priced hotel was clean and comfortable. It was in a convenient location within walking distant to Nainjing Road and the Bund. Taxi"s are always available outside. The restaurant provided a nice breakfast with western and eastern selections. The front desk was courteous and helpful. There was a convenient store next door where bottled water could be purchased. RMB can be purchased at the front desk at a decent exchange rate but they will not exchange it back to UDS on check out. I would stay there again.

Metropole Hotel rooms are small and plain but clean. Prices are excellent, and if your interest is access to the shopping district of Shanghai the location couldn't be better.

環境は一応いいが、何と言ったら、笑顔が少ない、冷たい感じ。また、無線インターネットもなくて、不便です

Hotelli on hyvä muutaman päivän visiitille, jos ei tarvitse parasta luksusta. Hotelli on hyvässä kunnossa ja siinä on historian havinaa. Ainoa huonoa asia oli, että Hotels.com sivujen kartan mukaan hotelli olisi aivan kävelykadulla, mutta ei se ole. Kävelykadulle on matkaa pari korttelia, noin 5 minuuttia.

Adressen og kart som ligger ved dette hotellet er feil og var derfor umulig å finne. Hotellet er noe sv de eldre hotellene i Shanghai, derfor ganske nedslitt. Billettkontor for tog osv nede i resepsjonen og resepsjonisten snakket engelsk.

A localização desse hotel é excelente, voce pode se deslocar tanto a pé quanto com transporte público.

En general se trata de un hotel muy muy viejo. No es que este sucio, pero al estar exactamente como se construyó hace 50 años da la impresión de sucio, sólo ver la fachada asusta de lo sucia que está, aunque eso es normal en Shanghai por la polución que hay. La habitación esta hecha polvo, los baños dan verdadera pena, el agua es imposible de ajustar, el water era de color amarillo de lo viejo que es. Te cobran internet a parte, con una calidad patética. El servicio de habitaciones es inexsistente, no te hacen ni caso. Por lo demás, el trato es muy impersonal pero bueno por lo menos no es un mal trato. Yo de vosotros buscaría otro hotel sin dudarlo. Además es caro, para el antro que realmente es. No es un hotel, es un garito con un camastro y un retrete. Estais avisados, luego no os quejeis.

Great Location, it's near the bund. But the hotel is quite old, some facilities are...........too oooooold. Looks quite horrible. This hotel does need some reconstruction, esp the BATHROOM!!!
