Hotel staff were outstanding. Stayed in Trilussa at the beginning and end of our holiday. Both times staff was helpful with directions around Rome, finding restaurants, and making our stay enjoyable. On Sunday's an open-air market across the street added to our shopping experience. Would recommend it highly for future trips

It was ok. I don't think this is a 4 star hotel. Maybe a 3.

Very good hotel in great location. Room clean and modern with fun funky shower and sky tv. Recommend the breakfast at only7 euros if not already included. Highly recommended

Thank you Sylvia, and the rest of the awesome staff at Trilussa Palace. I highly recommend the hotel that is litterally 8 minutes (10 euros cab with 4 people and bags) from Trastevere station, 1 minute from the tram to downtown. Breakfast was awesome, the bathroom gorgeous, with a shower that looked like a space capsule :)

The stay was incredible, the staff was very accommodating and a majority of them spoke very fluent English which was a plus. Your in the non tourist part of Rome so your. Of getting ripped off for meals and the quality of food is much better.

If this was a rated as a 3 star hotel and a LOT cheaper I would give it a higher rating, but as a 4 star hotel it is sadly lacking. The room was pleasant and the bed comfortable, but the room was very small and the bathroom minuscule. The shower cubicle (a steam room combo unit) was too small to shower and lather in without bashing your elbows and head against the sides. The single glazing in the room made it noisy with the heavy traffic on the busy road outside. The room was clean, though the decor was getting a little tired in places. Breakfast was basic with a small variety of pastries (tasting freshly defrosted and a little soggy), basic scrambled egg and instead of bacon there were fatty, slightly burned lardons. The toaster did a magnificent job of heating (but not toasting) the basic bread. The freshly squeezed orange juice was very nice however. The fruit selection was small and half of it was from a can, including 80s style fruit cocktail. The coffee machine output was average, not good in a city which prides itself on fine (and impressively cheap) coffee. Recent changes to public transport means the hotel is now a tram and a (very bumpy) bus ride from most main attractions. And the spa.. it is very small and for the vast majority of the time can only be hired for exclusive use at scarily inflated prices. The brand of the in room toiletry items said it all, they were branded "Basic".

We stayed three nights at this great hotel in Trastevere, a quiet respite in busy, noisy Rome. Our room was small (we booked economy) but very nice - clean, very quiet, within a quick walk of trendy Trastevere's wonderful restaurants, historic lanes and piazzas and the incredible Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere. The front desk staff was warm, welcoming and helpful, giving directions, making reservations and offering public transit advice. We stayed here on the personal recommendation of friends and were very pleased.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were comfortable however I chose this hotel because of the Spa package. I've visited over 40 spa locations and this one is very basic. The massage room was stark. The massage therapist spoke hardly a word. No music. No Foot roll. When the massage was done the attendant just left the room with a word saying it was over. The location of the hotel is difficult to reach by car. The GPS in our rental got us there perfectly but it took a long time winding through the city. Overall, this was an over-rated hotel experience and when you pull up to the hotel your first reaction is: You got to be kidding me.

It was fine. I could not control the temperature at all. I had some issues and they sent maintenance right away. I got a massage at their spa and it was not good. :(

We had a great stay at the hotel. The only complaint would be that the front desk wasn't overly friendly but still somewhat helpful. The room was a nice size, clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was tiny, good thing we are small because someone over 5'3 and 115 pounds would be smashed in. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The location was good as far as being able to jump right on the train and bus or even walk if we wanted to. More in a local neighborhood which was nice and only 3 train stops from restaurants, bars, etc. I would def recommend and stay again.

We were actually sad to leave our "home in Roma." We can't say enough about the staff, they went out of their way to satisfy our many requests. And the unexpected bonus: the beds were very comfortable.

No.8 tram from in front of hotel takes you where you want to go. Rooms are small, typical in Europe, comfortable. Staff are excellent. Trastevere bars and restaurants are nearby.

Loved the Trilussa! Good price for what u get, which is a total 5 star hotel. Super easy to get to, right on a bus and tram line, but far enough away from the major tourist traps to feel like ur seeing more of Rome than just the highlights. Colosseum, pantheon, Vatican all no more than a 7-10min bus/tram ride away, and a ten min walk to all of the great places to eat in travestere. Room was very nice, clean and well taken care of, breakfast is included and was good quality and plenty of it. My two favorites about the hotel though were definitely the rooftop bar, which is perfect to relax and just checkout Rome from, and the staff. The staff and customer service was outstanding, was traveling all over Europe for two weeks and the Trilussa staff was by far the friendliest and most helpful! Would not stay at any other place in Rome, can't wait to go back!

lovely boutique hotel ~ very comfortable and very well maintained ~ the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful the neighborhood, although perfectly fine, is "a bit off the beaten track". Would have preferred being closer to or on the other side of the Tiber. Would certainly recommend the Trilussa Palace Hotel to friends.

Tram No 8 from outside hotel takes you to Argentina in 10-12 minutes and most 'sights' are walkable from there. Bus H, also outside, goes right thro City to Terminii - also very convenient. Plenty good. reasonable price, Restaurants in Trastevere - not so much Tourist rip off as in the Centre! Hotel Staff are superb and most helpfull.

Well located in Trastevere, with a Tram, buses and a flea market just in front of the hotel. Helpful staff, good size rooms, small but effective cool shower, clean and comfortable.

Excellent location to be just away enough from the tourists locations to be able to experience the real Rome with the locals. Excellent restaurant selections very near-by within walking distance; but close enough to the Roman attractions to be able to catch the trolly or buses and be in central Rome or the Vatican within minutes. The trolly stops right in front of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and kind with maps and directions and recommendations, and the rooms were very comfortable. We had a family room with our two small girls and we were all very comfortable. The shower was very small as others have noted, but the rest of the hotel attributes more than made up for the few minutes spent in the small shower. It was small, but all the water jets were pretty cool. The breakfast was not bad, plenty of food. We stayed at other locations while in Rome and this was our favorite just because we wanted to experience Rome away from the tourist traps. This will be our #1 pick to stay at next time.

I stayed at the Trilussa Palace Hotel from 7th -9th October 2011. The rate was good and it was in a recommended area of Rome so I got a good last minute deal for a 4 star. The hotel is well located in the Trastevere area which is great for night time with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. It is also close to the Trastevere train station which is ideal for getting from the airport (8 Euro vs 40 Euro + in a taxi). An added bonus is that it is on a tram line with a stop directly outsdie the door which takes you into Piazza Argentina in less than 5 minutes. The room that I booked was a classic room which was more than adaquate with an extremely comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom, even though the room itself was small. The staff couldn't have been nicer and were very helpful when we asked for anything. A small example was on the day that we checked out we had a late flight and enquired as to the train times to the airport in the evening. Without a second's hesitiation the girl at reception printed out the timtable for the rest of the day for me. All in all it was a very pleasent experience for a quick weekend stay in Rome. I did not spend a huge amount of time in the hotel over the weekend but when I was there I was very happy. The only negative is a common one that I have found in hotels lately. On arrival I was told that my "classic economy room" on the ground floor was not ready (almost as if to inform me that I booked the cheapest room) and that a better room was available immediately for an additional 25 Euro per night. I chose the hotel because of the value for money and already felt as if I was spending enough as it was. Perhaps it would be better to upgrade you in this case rather than try to upsell to you. It would avoid the only negative in the review and turn it into a positive. Despite this, I would recommend anyone going for a short break to Rome to stay here. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights while in Rome. Overall we had a good experience. Here are some of the things we liked about our stay: *Clean room *great accessibility to Rome's site seeing landmarks *extremely helpful and pleasant staff *close to Santa Maria Trastevere (good food!) Here are some of the things we think would have made our stay more enjoyable: *a larger shower. It was extremely small. *more food options on the hotel premises *larger rooms *more comfortable mattresses For the price we paid per night, i would have hoped for a little more. However, overall we had a nice time. Not sure yet if I would choose this hotel again on my next stay in Rome. Thanks! :o)

This hotel is located 15 min (walking distance) from main train station, and a few blocks from downtown Rome. The hotel staff was very friendly, always willing to help. The room was standard size, very clean. The bathroom was a little small, but wasn't an issue. The neighborhood is really safe, even late at night. I highly recommend this hotel. It is a bargain for Europe prices. American traveler.

We were a family of four. I had read all of the reviews on hotels.com and on other travel websites and understood not everything would be perfect (for example, the hotel is not in the center of Rome; the rooms are not huge; the shower is different and not large). Perhaps being prepared for the less than perfect allowed us to appreciate how special an experience our stay was in this hotel. The staff was consistently helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Everything from making reservations for us at local sites to serving us coffee in the a.m., prior to the official breakfast time. Some reviewers have commented about the location as if it is not ideal. To the contrary, Trastevere is a great location. The tram stops right outside the hotel frequently and is the easiest way to get into the city. But we found that the local neighborhood was the place to walk around in the evening and for outside dining. The restaurant selection was abundant and frankly the food was better than in the heart of the city. After spraying water all over our bathroom in attemptiing to use the shower features that appear to be out of a space capsule, I quite enjoyed the shower experience including overhead, handheld head, and body massage. Americans have to get over the notion that there is only one way to take a shower. We enjoyed the garden rooftop bar and view of Rome. The hotel provided us with more than one large towel per person, which was great because the first day had water all over the bathroom as we negotiated the shower features. The air conditioning in the hotel and room worked wonderfully. The hotel has bottled water available throughout the day in the lobby -- a big plus when you arrive after an overnight flight or after a day in the hot Roman sun. Staff are fantastic. Breakfast is very good. Beds and pillows are surprisingly really comfortable! Much more so than more expensive hotels I've stayed at.The showers are a challenge and a disappointment.I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to see the side of Rome where you mingle with the locals in Trastevere, have access to great and easy transportation to anwhere in Rome. I have done Rome from the Spanish Steps neighborhood before. This was much better and a real taste of Rome. Fantastic local restaurants. Reception staff were the best.

Great location, about a 10min stroll to the Trastavere area. The Number 8 tram stops right outside the hotel, which makes it easy to get into the city/Spanish steps, shopping streets. The rooms are a bit cramped but they're clean, stylish and well maintained. Friendly bar and reception staff and a comfortable rooftop for a quick beverage before going out.

Trilussa Palace isn't five star, but has many luxuries - marble floors and counters in bathroom, memory foam mattress, a very nice buffet breakfast, and a little bar area with a very friendly bartender. Just outside the door, a little tram can take you four stops down to the Tiber Riverwalk, and you're also very close to the Piazza Trastavere, with fab restaurants, little shops, artists, street performers - a vibrant Italian scene! Quibble: the shower is absolutely trippy. It's a tiny, self contained capsule sort of thing that looks like it should launch you into space. It's smaller than a cruise ship shower, has a little bench, and multiple shower heads at the top and back (some of which surprise with a blast of cold water). You get an instruction manual on how to work the thing. You need to be average to thin to fit in this baby. If you're tall, your head hits the top head, and if you're big, you won't be able to turn around. But all of us in our group of six found the shower funny, a unique memory of Italy. The staff here is friendly, the location is fun, and they'll turn down the air conditioner extra cold for you at the front desk if you make this special request! Trilussa wouldn't necessarily be my first choice upon return, but I also wouldn't mind staying here again.

Our family of four spent one night at the hotel and were impressed with the friendly service at Reception and Conceirge. After returning to the hotel 4 days later in the hope of retrieving our young daughters sunglasses that were left in the room, the service again was extremely obliging. The sunglasses were returned, and after inquiring as to a local beauty salon, an appointment was promptly made on my behalf. The breakfast was good and hotel appeared clean and comfortable, with a welcome drink on arrival what more could you ask for? Convenient tram line out the front of hotel into central Rome. Would recommend for short stay.

The hotel was decent - on the nice side. The room was very comfortable and had a nice balcony opening to the street. The bathroom showers made us laugh - they look like rocket ships - small, but fine. The breakfast was not included in the room rate, and I can't say it was worth the charge. Although the hotel wasn't central to Trastevere, the #8 Tram stopped right outside the front doors of the hotel, so it was pretty convenient to catch it into Rome (once you figure out the rest of the bus system). We stayed two nights, but then opted for a different hotel in Rome that was closer to the action.

No surprises, everything was just as expected and requested. We arrived at the hotel early and were able to check in right away and shown to our room. The room was as described and the two extra bed were set up in the room as requested! The front desk staff spoke passable English and were able to answer our questions. The breakfast buffet was very nice and well attended. We were able to get on the tram or bus right outside the front of the hotel which will take you to all the sights within 10 to 20 minutes! The hotel seemed to be located in a very decent part of town. The hotel was able to arrange a transfer to the airport which worked very well and was no more expensive than the taxi ride when we arrived! All in all this was a very good stay and we were very pleased!! Really nothing bad to stay after a week long stay! Once again very pleased!!

This is a great hotel for visiting Rome. The tram stops right in front of the hotel and will take you to the heart of Rome in just a few minutes. Hotel staff are completely helpful to assist. The rooms are very clean andf beds are very comfortable. The shower is totally funky with a spaceship like capsule for normal, rain forest and horizontal nozzle shower options. It would be a tight fit for a large person though. The roof top was a nice place to chill out, even in cold November!

The helpful and friendly staff plus the cleanliness of the hotel makes this hotel a very good value. It is not located in the center of tourist attractions, but I found this to be a plus. There is a tram within two minutes of the hotel which takes one to the center of everything. Breakfast is the typical European buffet breakfast, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, bread, pastry, eggs, etc. Did not eat dinner in hotel. There are a couple of small and very good Italian restaurants a short walk from the hotel toward the river. Rooms are small, but I find this to be typical of European hotels where i have stayed. Who spends time in a room when in a beautiful city? Would stay here again.

Very nice hotel, Happy Hour in the bar area is fun, great staff. Rooftop is very nice too. There is nothing at all in this area really to do, except on Sunday mornings. We stepped out on our balcony overlooking the street and saw the biggest flea market we've ever seen. Spent three hours there. The best food we had in our 11 days in Italy was in a neighborhood here. Popi Popi was our favorite.Ask for directions as the restaurant area is up almost to the river and then left, and back a block or two. If you find this area you will be in heaven. I chose this hotel from another reviewer that suggested if you wanted to see "real" Rome, stay over the river. We are very glad we did. Sidenote: They do not have washcloths. A small handcloth about 10 inches by 10 inches, so don't bother asking for one. It did not affect our experience at all. Our first two days in Italy were spent at a hotel two blocks from the Roma Termini, next six days were in Florence and last three back in Rome at the Trilussa.

The hotel was very well maintained and clean. The lobby was very upscale. The room was comfortable and clean, and the shower was amazing. The only downside was the location which was outside of the tourist areas of Rome. It was ok to me because I like to walk through cities and get a real feel for them, but some people might be put off by it.

We were extremely pleased with our stay here. After reading the reviews I must say everything was exactly as other guest stated. You can't beat the location for convenience to public transportation. We did not need a taxi the entire time we were there. You take a train located downstairs in the airport for 8 euros (be sure to stamp the ticket before boarding). Then you board tram #8 Argentina and get off at the 2nd stop Piazzo Ippolitto Nievo. The hotel will be across the street to your left. You can buy a 3 day tourist pass for 11 euros that allows you unlimited rides on the tram, buses or metro. You can also buy a 1 week pass. The rooms were small (by American standards) but neat. There are no drawers but there is a nice closet. As with the other reviewers the shower is the biggest problem with the facilities. It is very tiny. This area is residential and know for great restaurants. We ate at La Cisterna the first night located on Via della Cisterna (you can google the directions). The food, ambiance, and service was absolutely great. The breakfast buffet at the hotel is very nice. It had a large variety of foods and they kept it well stocked. You should probably skip eating at the hotel rooftop restaurant. It would be ok for a drink up there as it has nice views but the food was expensive and not on par with the other restaurants we visited in Rome. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and nice whenever we had questions about getting around or other tourist information. There offered free wireless internet but we could get it to work only intermittently in our room but it worked great in the lobby. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again when visiting Rome. I thought it was much better than trying to find a hotel in the heart of the tourist area near the Colosseum. You can walk many places if you like (we actually walked to the Colosseum) but it is just as easy to hop on a tram or bus in front of the hotel. We would visit the ruins in the day and then

Very good hotel. Excelent service and very good rooms. Bathroom and showers are a A+. Breakfast buffet included is really good...try the bacon... Close to the trastevere area.

We just returned from vacation in Italy, and this was one of the nicest hotels on the trip. The rooms were nice, the beds very VERY comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We were about 200 feet from a very convenient bus/tram stop, so getting to/from various ’tourist’ sites was easy and affordable (most 10-15 minutes away). The breakfast buffet was also quite good, allowing us to fill up before we took off for the day so we could get by with a light lunch and then splurge on dinner. The rooftop bar offered a lovely view, but don’t count on the hotel for much when it comes to dining, the menu was too limited for our taste. There was an outside open market on Sunday that was huge, so if you like that type of thing you can find some good deals. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here when we arrived from Chicago. It was the best hotel of my trip in Italy. The front desk was helpful and gave specific suggestions and directions. The rooftop bar is lovely. Also, the hotel had a mini-gym, which I didn't see anywhere else in Italy or Greece. It is also a quick walk to Ancient Rome.

Bra hotell i Trastevere. Otroligt trevlig och hjälpsam personal, kanske inte så stora rum, men kuddar och madrass...ja sängen var fantastiska. Bra med hotellet är också frukosten. Inget specielltl, men betydligt bättre än vad man kan förvänta sig. Så vi var nöjda med att ha valt frukosttillägghet. Utanför hotellet går spårvagnen vilken snabbt tar dig in till city. Allt är ju nära i Rom. Man blir nästa lite bortskämd med det varför detta hotell trots att det bara tar typ 15 min med spårvagn och sedan till fots till campo di fiori....känns som att det är lite långt bort. Vi bodde fem nätter på hotellet och att transportera sig fram och tillbaks...två gånger per dag...tar ju lite kvalitetstid när man är borta och den tid skulle jag hellre sitta på en piazza och ta det lugnt. Nåväl, jag kan starkt rekommendera hotellet som ett prisvärt och fräscht alternativ där själva hotellet gör dig allt annat än besviken.

Supert hotell med super betjening. Flott takterasse med utsikt over Roma. Gåavstand til Trastevere området med mange restauranter. Kan anbefales.
