Clarion Hotel Prague Old Town - براغ

1: You have to book the top floor suit to go to the roof top cafe, but this is not mentioned before booking. Still, they put those pictures on the web. I think it is deceiving. 2:Cezh ppl generally have no service mind, but since the WIFI in this hotel is really really bad. I called once at night. the lady at the reception only reply to ask me to go down to the reception area for WIFI. and she hanged up the phone without saying goodbye(I am not finished yet). I will never go to this hotel or any clarion hotel again.

The bathroom was clean and room service was good. The iron we requested from recpetion was useless after being plugged in for twenty minutes could still be touched by hand.The main gripe we had was the size of the room. with two single beds a sideboard two dining chairs and a suitcase rack there was barley room to move about.Given the price we paid for our four night stay it was extremely disappointing.The breakfast had room for improvement with supplys not replaced when empty.

hotel was good. old furtniture and building.. room very spacious but definetaly needs an update.. the staff were very helpful location of the hotel was great.. 1 block from the river.. you can walk to main shopping area and touristic site. for the price we paid which included breakfast this was a great location. and decent hotel

very nice reception staff, good value

We were very happy with the hotel. We wanted a nice, clean room in a great location, and we got that. There was reliable wifi and wired internet in the room, and the room was tastefully furnished. The staff, with mediocre english, were polite and helpful. Not a big room, but this is Europe and on a two-day vacation, we didn't stay in the room. I certainly recommend it!

Walking distance to all. Tram and bus one street from the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful value. THe one issue was the Wifi didn't work in the room with the iPhone, the signal was good but would not work. Worked fine in the lobby on the different network. Overall a great value for walking to most sites.

AC did not really work, 2 twin beds pushed together do not make a queen bed. Tiny room (that was specified on site). Good location. Hotel seems old and a bit rundown.

How bad could a hotel be? Bad enough that you pay in advance and then don't stay there and move to another hotel. Sheets were unclean, room was in poor maintenance and to top it off the carpet was quite moist. I switched hotels to the Alchymist near the US Embassy (loved it!) for only 40 more Euros a night.

Prague is one place you must visit sooner or later. Superb social scene, fantastic buidlings everywhere you go. A walkers paradise but public transport always available. Great river trips and loads of good quality pubs, the locals love their beer.

The service and friendliness of the staff at the Clarion is to be commended. All requests are responded to promptly and courteously. The location is convenient - close enough to walk to Old Town - and just around the corner to various trams & buses and the terrific Palladium Mall - very handy! The rooms are clean & quiet and the free breakfast buffet is a delight. And, for the price, this can't be beat!

Elevator maintenance began at 0800 and disturbed our sleep. Otherwise, great views and nicely furnished.

Nice clean convenient hotel. Calm area and safe feeling day/night.

Chose the hotel because of reputation, location and attractive deal that made it very affordable. Room was clean, had comfortable beds and was well put together. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices. Staff was friendly and competent. Having lived in Prague before, I knew the location of the hotel and wanted to be there. It is just on the border of tourist Prague, but the center is rather compact and the hotel is still well within walking distance of many prime attractions and convenient public transportation to the rest.

Stayed for about a week in this hotel at a great rate. Switched rooms part-way through for a better view, which was nice. It was helpful to have an actual computer terminal for internet, and overall the hotel is a very good deal. I concur with some of the other reviews that it is more like a 3-star than 4-star hotel, nothing bad about it just don't expect a brand spanking new, "squeaky clean" feel that some prefer. Very nice breakfast.

Staff are very rude and not helpful in any way.

The hotel was close enough to see it all, and tucked away enough not to feel like it was too busy. The Old Town is so beautiful you won't be spending too much time in your room!

The generous size of the room (per European standards) is only exceeded by the helpfulness of the Staff. Perfect breakfast, easy walk to all you would want to see.

Very good location, got the airport shuttle into town and the stop is about 5 mins walk from the hotel. The hotel is about 5 mins walk to the old town square and jewish quarters. Thought the room was slightly on the small side but it was clean and tidy. Good selection for breakfast. Only complaint was that we got a bit of surprise from the bath which had brown water coming out one evening and reported this to reception who said they were going to send someone up but no-one turned up. Ran the water a few times and it returned to normal. Would consider staying again if returning though.

Excellent location alongside the old town of Prague - within walking distance of almost everything. The hotel was very clean and quiet. We had a good and comfortable stay.

The staff were exceptionally helpful. Great location and the room was very clean. Also, thought we got a great price. Would stay there again.

The room is nice, not enough soaps and shampoo, nice breakfast. the girl at the reception was not nice or cooperative, when we asked her to call a taxi to the airport she told us to call from the room! The Hotel is near the old Town but not in it! The street leading to the Hotel is not very nice at night.

i will recommend the hotel as it was very convenient to the squares, etc. reception staff could be a bit politer most were very good. rooms comfortable and very clean and very good service. restaurant breakfasts great but dinner at night was not so good. food warm, meat very tough. also another couple we talked to also said evening meal was not good.

Would stay in this hotel again in a heart beat. It's close to everything, clean and comfortable ... I would recommend it to a friend and I will stay here again !!!

This hotel was a very nice location to walk to the attractions of old town Prague. It was less than a 10 minute walk to the old town square and about a 15 minute walk to the Charles bridge. There is also a modern mall that is less than 10 minutes away. There is a quick mart down the street, less than 2 blocks, for buying bottled water, snacks, beer, etc. The hotel restaurant does close between meals so be prepared for that, I only ate breakfast there. The breakfast was a combination of standard European (meats/cheese) and British/American (eggs/baked beans), they also had a variety of breads, cereal, and yogurt. The room and bed were small, I had to walk sideways between the foot of the full-size bed and the windows. The widows opened which brought in a wonderful breeze. The tub was large and deep, if you have and trouble lifting your leg high then this tub would be impossible to get into. The room was clean. Be sure to bring a power converter, they cost about $35USD to buy locally.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The room was small but very clean. The included breakfast was very good, though the service was mediocre; dirty dishes left on our table as we went back for another coarse; fresh plates not always available, etc. We had a nice view of the river from our 4th floor room. TV channels were few and uninteresting. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have internet access at the front desk area, but a separate area or room would give some privacy.

This is a nice hotel in a very convenient location 5 min walk from the Old Town square. Staff at the reception was nice and friendly. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable, though the carpet was a bit worn out. The room had a nice view of the river, but you have to keep windows shut in the night as otherwise you can hear noise from some air-conditioning unit below. Air conditioning in the room worked fine. I noticed that some reviews complained about breakfast service. I mostly went to breakfasts late (9:30-9:45am) and haven't noticed any problems: plenty of seats and a good choice of food. Overall nice and convenient hotel.

I booked this hotel for my mother, her husband and their two friends, and they really enjoyed their stay. I live in Prague so I choose this hotel because it's location and because it's close to most of the main attractions Prague has to offer. On the downside all the parking was occupied during their stay, but the shopping mall "Palladium" is close by, and they got 700-900 (I don't really remember) parking spaces, and it's about 400m from the hotel. The staff was friendly and nice and easy to talk with. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others.

Room was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet offered something for everyone (from english breakfast, pasta and salads to different kinds of cornflakes and pastries). Staff was always friendly but lacked competency: Not all of them understood English perfectly well - at least not well enough for a former four star hotel - and they were unable to assist in faxing a document to the local embassy. Free WiFi was available in the hotel lobby and restaurant / breakfast room only. Getting a seat in the lobby for comfortable surfing/mailing sessions was almost impossible as they offer a sofa with two seats only. Rooms are equipped with free ethernet access to the internet. Nonetheless we'd revisit that place. It's not even a hundred meters away from the river which we had a nice view on from our room. The bathroom is nice and clean, the A/C worked perfectly well during hot July nights. Fresh towels are provided on a daily basis. Getting into the historic city centre couldn't be easier: All the major tourist attractions are within walking distance.

After a day walking around the sights of Prague it was good to have easy access to transport back to the hotel. Also quiet easy to get to Prague Castle by public transport. Hotel also have transport to the airport or railway station at a price which is not subject to the local taxi drivers rip off prices!

We ware in hotel in July 2011. We are satisfied completely. The room was clean, replacement toiletries every day. Enough a spacious and comfortable room, plasma TV, air condition, really fast Internet connection. Even so as a lack of variety of breakfast for this level of hotel. By my opinion could have been richer and tastier.

The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and the service is superb.

This was a wonderful experience. Room was a little small but adequate. The bathroom was large and the fixtures seemed almost new. I would highly recommend this hotel especially for the price. It was truly a non-smoking room and we had a partial view of the river.

Great hotel, good location,staff friendly & helpful, been there twice now would defo go again

Room wasn't large or fancy but very comfortable and clean, had a kettle and iron. Bed was very firm, which was fine with me but might bother some people. Staff at front desk very nice and helpful, breakfast buffet had good selection.

Enjoyed my stay with all staff being very helpful. Very Convenient for all the tourist attractions and City Centre. Would recommend to anyone visiting Prague. I found the Internet facilities a bit cramped in the Reception area but that was only a small matter.

I am happy that i have chose the Clarion Hotel Old Town in Prague to stay. Everything was as I expected, clean room, friendly staff, good location, breakfast included and internet connection. The problem was the pillows provided by hotel was as flat. I think the TV definitely needs more English channels as it had just BBC world and CNN I assume. I was overall very pleased with the hotel and strongly recommend it. Certainly I will consider there again.

Excellent located hotel, spotlessly clean rooms. Spacious bedroom with all mod cons, great bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Staff knowledgeable, approachable & friendly. Lots of choice at breakfast with hold and cold foods. Only downside was the room temperature, so hot and unable to turn the air con down, but other than that a great stay at an excellent hotel.

Outstanding experience. Staff incredibly helpful and polite, all spoke great English. Hotel employees helped unload our car, showed us to our room, and even took our car to their secure parking for us (parking costs extra, but is highly recommended. Our room was a suit on the top floor of the building with a giant walk-out balcony with a great view of downtown and the castle. Our room was large and very accommodating, with a seperate bedroom, bathroom, and sitting area with complimentary internet connection. The neighborhood was not the MOST interesting in Prague, but we were only about a 10-15 minute walk to the old town square. Not bad at all. I couldn't reccommend this hotel enough. Will definitely stay here again when I return to Prague.

I can’t begin to express how disappointed I was with this hotel. They advertise a 24 hour business center, but when I asked about printing an e-mail the best they could do was to have me send the e-mail for them to print, the only business center I saw was a single computer set up in the corner, with no printer, in Czech language. They also advertise air conditioning. My room was a little smelly and hot, so I tried to turn on the a/c; couldn’t get it to cool down, so I called the front desk. They send up a gentleman to look at it, who said “we only have it during summer – there is nothing I can do to help you. Open up your window”. Which wouldn’t have been such a huge deal except that not only do they advertise it but the hotel is located on a major/busy street & the cross street is the way the ambulances go to the hospital! It was not quiet! The parking garage, was 25 Euro’s a day. We ordered room service & the next day the cleaning service didn’t remove the dishes, even though they were right on the desk, empty. I placed both dirty bathroom glasses & dirty spoon in the bath tub so they’d be replaced with clean ones, only to return to my room & they’d placed them back on the counter– DIRTY! They never once in the entire week I was there made the bed completely but placed the blankets folded on my suitcase & then again one day in the closet! I will say the breakfast they offer is good but that is about all I can say positive for this experience. 4 Stars?? I don’t think so.

This was a very nice hotel in old town. Close to the town square and clock. The room was nice but they really need to improve on the staff. The room cleaning was horrible and most of the staff were unfriendly.

The hotel is in a great location for walking/exploring the many joys of Prague. It was very convenient to walking to all the major things to see and do, yet set back just enough to be a quiet retreat. Good service, the desk staff was especially helpful. I also thought the breakfast staff did a remarkable job of attempting to please so many different guests from so many nationalities and personalities - not an easy task. The breakfast was modest but certainly adequate.
