very oldie worldie as we like ,excellent location right on hyde park and next to underground. very helpful staff.

This was my third stay at London Elizabeth over the last four years. The staff mostly changes from each stay - this time the restaurant was staffed by eastern European who could do with some of that great British service, but the front desk staff while not always accurate on their directions was very obliging and very professional - eager to make our stay a success! The rooms are so lovely and a nice change from the typical hotel atmosphere. My only complaint was the coffee which was terrible to the point that I ordered a cappuccino hoping it would be better but it wasn't. I think perhaps none of the staff drinks coffee so they have no idea not to burn the pot. It was quite interesting that we paid full price the first night and on our second night which they discounted - the maids removed the lovely home made bed quilts leaving the plain covers - we couldn't quite figure out if they take the nicer quilts when paying a discount price? Odd! The very convenient location of course makes up for the quilts but we truly did feel like we had been downgraded by quilts!

I did primarily book this hotel for the location and for that it is fantastic, with the tube station just across the road. The hotel and room itself does look worn out and is due a makeover. Saying that it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok but did have to wait 5-10 minutes. Would I stay again, probably not unless I got a very good deal and needed to be in that area again.

I have stayed here several times before and noticed that the Hotel is getting a little shbby and needs some updating and painting. The single rooms are very tiny and cramped but generally adeqate. Wish I had gotten a double to have a little more 'stretching rom.' The staff is incredibly helpful and that means a lot to me. The location for getting around London couldn't be better...across the street from the tube station and good city bus route. I would definitely stay here again when in London.

Yes the elevator is tiny, and yes, some of the rooms are small, but the charm of this hotel and the great location outweighs all of this. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Best of all, after coming back for the night we were happy to find the small bar was open late and it had a wonderful garden for us to relax in before going back to the room. The proximity to Hyde Park and tube stops are a definite plus. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to stay in that area of London.

I have stayed in various hotels and guest houses in London and surrounding areas, over last 30 years, on business and pleasure. This hotel must rank as in my top 5 of "never to return". I did get room at very low price from Hotel.com , but, this is no excuse for room being extremely worn and filthy. The "white" net curtains were battle-ship grey with dirt,this was matched on wallpaper at rear of television set.Pale yellow blanket was in need of a wash, to get rid of dirt and hairs from previous guests.Sheets and pillowcases were however clean.Carpet and skirting area needs a good "scrub". Bathroom was very worn and dated, broken tiles, dodgy grouting etc. WC / sink seemed clean though.Potted plastic plant at window was just a dust collector.Breakfast was fine though, staff were very helpful and attentive. My room number was 222 - avoid if possible. Summing up on this establishment - good location, pleasant staff but needs to drag itself into the 21st century. People do expect more, stripping away uneccessary decorative items would help - a good paint job, a good clean and new bedding would be a start.

This hotel was a last minute purchase, and location was a major factor for us. The location is hard to beat as it is right across the street from the Lancaster Gate underground stop. Also it is right across the street from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Perfect for us. The only down side was the deterioration of the hotel. We had a room on the top floor and the lean of the staircase was rather frightening. The elevator worked well, but it hold one person with luggage. However one shouldn't be at risk for vertigo if planning to use the stairs! The best feature of the hotel is the staff! All VERY nice and helpful as well as multi-lingual. The hotel did have a garden terrace on which they served food and drink. The weather was nice for us so we used that and it was delightful. In short, cleanliness was good. The baths were due for a remodel, and the staff was great! I'd go back, but more for the cheap price and good location.

Not recommended for business travellers. I found the sides of the carpet very dirty. I also found the shower to be of very poor quality. The facilities in the room were ok.

The best thing about the London Elizabeth is the location. It is walking distance to Paddington Station, even with heavy luggage, and just north of Hyde Park. If it was any closer to Paddington, I suspect it would be much more expensive. Rooms are small, as expected for a London hotel of this price range, but no London visitor should spend much time in their hotel room. We did experience quite a bit of street noise at night through the old, leaky windows -- so much so that I got up in the night to make sure I had actually closed the windows. Every employee was friendly and helpful. If I needed a not-so-expensive place to stay near the train station for a night, I'd probably return. I'm not sure I'd want to put up with the noise for an extended visit, though.

First stepping in to the hotel the reception entrance look really nice, but then we got shown to our room. I haven't stayed in a london hotel before so don't have anything to compare but thought the room was very small and in the bathroom there wasn't even room to swing a cat! The room was also very hot and although there was a ceiling fan it did nothing for the heat so it was an uncomfortable nights sleep. I also got stuck in the lift and didn't really get much apology for it! On the plus side the free continental breakfast was very nice and it was in a nice location next to kensington gardens and the fountains.

Vi hade en förlängd weekend och anlände sen kväll. Allt var OK i rummet och förövrigt. Inget att klaga över på detta lilla men trivssamma hotell.

Jeg hadde betalt for et alminnelig enkeltrom, men da jeg ankom til hotellet, var jeg alllerede blitt oppgradert til et større og bedre rom, noe jeg syntes var veldig hyggelig. Sengen var god og frokosten (som var inkludert i prisen) likeså, og alt virket rent og pent. Hotellet ligger bare noen få meter fra Lancaster Gate undergrunnsstasjon, og tvers over gaten ligger Hyde Park og Kensington Gardens.

Complessivamente un buon Hotel dove tornerei per un nuovo soggiorno Punti deboli: lo stato di conservazione, che meriterebbe una 'rinfrescata'. Niente di così importante ma gioverebbe sicuramente rumorosità delle camere (almeno di quella in cui ho soggiornato) affaciandosi sulla strada sottostante

Accueil très agréable e chaleureux, chambre propre, bien équipée. Proche de Hyde Park. Merci pour l'accueil.

hôtel tenu par des irlandais et essentiellement fréquenté par des ressortissants espagnols et Allemands. très bien situé c'est très vieillot voire un peu vétuste mais facilement accessible de Paddington, et compte tenu des prix qui se pratiquent à Londres un prix par nuitée honnête. Attention les expressos sont facturés 1€ en sus du petit déjeuner.

Tres chouette hotel avec terrasse tres tranquille et sympa pour boire ou manger. L'accueil d'apres-midi est tres chaleureux et efficace. Celui du matin de ces dames...pas genial... L'hotel est bien situe, le wi-fi marche pas mal quand il marche et l'atmosphere est plutot bon enfant. C'est rare a Londres ou les hotelier sont blases et pas tres "helpful".

パディントンの駅から歩いて１０分くらいで　空港にいくにもとても便利。地下鉄ランカスターゲイトが目の前でホテルの前にもバス乗り場があります。朝食はコンチネンタルですがパンと紅茶が美味しい。フルイングリッシュを頼むと別料金でした。建物は古いのですが　部屋はかわいらしくスタッフもみな感じよく気持ちよくとまれました。

Meget lille dobbeltværelse på ca 18 kvadratmeter og en meget lille dobbeltseng , som vi herhjemme betegner som en halvandenmandsseng slet ikke en dobbelt seng og for at komme iseng skulle man forbi en stolpe der ved den ene side af sengen, det var som om at sengen var sat ind i et hak , man skulle møve sig ind fra forenden på den anden side af sengen. På værelset stod der en meget vakkelvorn spisestuestol , det eneste der der var okay var badeværelset der var pænt.

Vi valgte hotellet på grunn av beliggenheten . Rett ved buss og undergrundstasjon i et område vi liker av London. Hotellet er noe slitt men typisk engelsk.

Ok til prisen.. dog nogle problemer med vandet i bruseren der ikke virkede.. enten koldt eller meget varmt vand og meget langsomt silende.. dette blev fortalt til reception ved afrejse, og noteret.. så forhåbentlig allerede ordnet ? (værelse 225:-)

Nous avons passé 5 nuits très agréables dans cet Hotel . Le petit déjeuner continental inclus est varié avec de bons produits. Le personnel est serviable et souriant . La décoration est kitsch avec des roses dans la salle à manger et des pots de fleur partout.

After having read the rewies here, we did´nt expect much of the hotel, so it was really a surprise for us, that the hotel was so nice. Very good service, a lovely room, good breakfast, we were really satisfied. Lancaster Gate tube station is 50 meters from the hotel. One stop to Oxford Street, it´s just perfect. We would definetily stay here again and have already recomended it to friends going to London.

hotel ligt op een prima lokatie ,dichtbij metro en aan de overkant hyde park. De hotelmedewerkers zijn erg gastvrij en vriendelijk. De kamer /badkamer is gedateerd maar schoon. Een goed hotel prijs /kwaliteit een aanrader.

We booked the hotel at last minutes, so had good discount. For that price the hotel is Ok, due to good location. But the furniture and equipment is really old. and pretty dirty in the room. Also we've been requesting for Non smoking room, unfortunately they provide us Smoking room with 1 bed (for 2 of us).If you are staying for just weekend, it's best option price/location.

Hotellet var helt topp, både når det gjelder beliggenhet, service, komfort og ikke minst interiør. (Det eneste måtte være noe korte senger)

Small clean room. Not too noisy. Simple nice breakfast.

Het hotel ligt tegenover Lancastergate, een van de ingangen van Hydepark en vlakbij het metrostation. Twee stops met de metro en je staat op Oxfordstreet, Bovendien is het de Centreline met vele aanslutingen op de andere lijnen. Het park zo vlakbij geeft de mogelijkheid om even daar te verpozen of een mooie wandeling te maken. Het hotel is typisch Engels ingericht met bloemtjesbehang en gordijnen. Een beetje tuttig maar het heeft wel wat. Allemaal wat oud maar redelijk goed onderhouden. Het hotel ligt wel aan een straat waar veel verkeer doorheen komt. dus het is wat lawaaiig. Ons verblijf was heel plezierig door het vriendelijke personeel, een fijn terras in een rozentuintje en een goed verzorgd ontbijt.

Not luxurios but freindly and welcomming. The roomsize was suitable but the bathromm, though new and fine, a bit small. Best of all is that busses for Oxford circus, Camden and Westminster are right in front of the Hotel. We would definitely stay there again!

very central hotel close to beatiful Hyde and Kensington Park Unfortunate to get room directly facing the all night busy road below and no noicereduction in windows at all Also first hotel EVER in UK not to have a tea-kettle in the room
