B-Hotel - برشلونة

I picked this on previous reviews and because it was very handy for the airport. The Hotel is on the first stop in on the Areobus (last back), which took about 30 minutes. It is right beside a metro and we could get everywhere we wanted to go quickly from there. Breakfast was good and staff were excellent. Like those who have visited before, can only recommend this and would stay there again.

Had everything we needed - close the Metro, just a few stops from the Old Town. Great views from the hotel roof of Montjuic. Rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable. Staff could not have been more helpful no matter what query we had. And there is even a large shopping centre (The Arena) next door for the consumerist in you, or if you just need to pick up some things on your way in or out. And all at a reasonable price, will definitely use this hotel again if I'm in Barca.

Superb hotel. Our room was absolutely beautiful and clean. Located in a very nice and accessible accessible. One bus (Bus 46) ride away from the airport and the Metro is a few metres away from the hotel. Staff are very helpful and speaks fluent English. Would definitely stay here again.

It really is a mix for me. Upon first glance- it was wonderful. Very contemporary building and room. Staff was very friendly with me always. But once the awe wears off- it has very obviously seen better days. In my room at least. The bathroom is mainly where the issues were. The glass separating the shower from the sink was disgustingly molded between the panels and the edges around the tub had thick chunks of scum in the crevices. The water would also leak from the bathroom into the room- leaving a small puddle near my bed each time. Everything else was okay- but the bathroom gave such a bad impression that the rest of the room felt very cheap as well. The location was okay- not too central though. I like to walk and everything of interest as a tourist was at least a half hour walk. Towards the end of my stay I just started taking trains and that was perfect for commuting to the hot spots.

Room large and very comfortable, bathroom/bathtub very nice, staff very helpful. Breakfast (not included) very good, book it in advance for reduced price. Internet connection slow. Not so nice smell on the floor outside the room

Excellent location- just hop of the Aerobus. Lovely room with balcony. Only complaint is the bed was VERY firm. Would definitely stay here again.

As I used to work in 5-stars hotel I have always been uneasy with the general quality the hotels in Europe have to offer (unless you pay crazy price). I have to say B Hotel totally surpassed my expectation. The room was great, they also assigned the room according to what I requested upon booking (quiet corner room). The bath/shower room was great and the bed was huge. As a smoker it's the first time I didn't have to go all the way down and out of the hotel, as there is a balcony where I can just step out and have a quickie. I will certainly stay there again.

Great 2 day stay this Sept. Location is great -pool is to die for- service fantastic and the room is the same. Book early and get great deals- but say here- we loved it!

The room was basic (I don't appreciate twin beds pushed together) but at least clean. Having the Metro within a 2 minute walk from your front door was the selling point for us. Also the train station was a 10 minute walk. The staff were more than helpful with information when it was needed and even printed the train schedules for our departure. The rooftop pool was lovely and great evening views. We did not eat at this hotel mainly due to price of breakfast buffet so can't comment on that but at least there is an option.

We stayed at the B-Hotel in Barcelona just recenty Sept 2011 We found it to be an excellent Hotel. Staff were very helpful spoke very good English which is always helpful, area is very safe, transport at doorstep, Good restaurants and Tapas bars around the area, rooms very clean and comfortable, free wi-fi on hand. Would definetly stay there again.

we reserved the hotel based on the reviews on the net and were surprised to see that the hotel was in the same condition that was depicted in the photos, moreover, the service was good, the design was good and the location was great. just 25 min wlking distance from la rambla, 5 min on the subway - which is situated a few steps from the hotel, next door to a shopping center and right near the bus station from and to the airport. really nice stay, try the coco loco cocktail by the pool after a good walk in the city.

The hotel is well designed and located in a very convinient area across the street from a big mall with supermarket and metro station. Room is spacious. Bed is comfortable. it would have been better if the bathroom was cleaned better and the glass beside the bathtub was renewed. The bench in the room is broken and my husband almost fell on the ground while sitting on it. But the hotel staff responded in a reasonable time and fashion. Would stay here again because of the location

The Good Stuff: The B Hotel is in a great location, easily accessable via public transportation (take the A2 bus into Barcelona from the airport and get off at Plaza Espanya, the hotel will be across the street to the right). It is near interesting sites and reasonably priced, good restaurants. The breakfast buffet had a decent variety and good food -worth the "pay in advance" price of 10 Euros/day. The rooms are okay, although you should give yourself 10 minutes to read the "how to" on how to turn on the lights and adjust the bathroom window shades. The Not-So-Good Stuff: I found the hotel staff pleasant but generally unresponsive. If you want something done, you have to take the intiative and be very clear. For example, each morning at breakfast, my husband had to literally walk into the kitchen to order our coffee as there was noone in the dining room to take our order. If we had waited for someone to come and take our order we would have never had coffee with our breakfast. Another example is that the air conditioning in our room did not work. We called and had a technician come to our room twice with no resolution. When I complained to the front desk night attendent that we would have to sleep with the door open to be able to get any relief, he did not take the hint and move us to a room with a functioning AC, rather he said he would leave a note for the manager (who actually doesn't even work on the weekends) . I should have said, "We need to change rooms TONIGHT." Finally, the pool bar staff was elusive. Literally we would see them for a moment then they would be gone for 30-40 minutes. The bottom line: Great location, but the service is lacking.

It is fabulous. All staff are VERY helpful with nothing too much trouble. Extra pillow delivered in a few minutes, pool is fab and bigger than most rooftop pools in Barcelona, very clean too. Very near to bus stop for the Aerobus from the Airport which is just over €5 and a taxi will cost over €30. Tourist bus stop is a few minutes walk away. Very modern hotel, large rooms, not noisy, comfy beds, all areas very clean, staff welcoming and good english. No problems whatsoever, really enjoyed our stay and will go back.

B-Hotel is conveniently located in a amazing part of town. Its a block away from Plaza de Espanya, Arenas (New Mall, former bull fighting arena), and Parallel (main road that takes you to the beach). 5 minute walk from the fountina at Montejuc, 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas, 15 minute walk to the beach. B-Hotel is basicaally conveniently located near many tourist attractions and local hotspots. Roof top view from the infinity pool is a great way to spend your evenings. Overall 10!!

This was a great hotel with the friendliest hotel staff. The hotel is situated in walking distance to the Espanya Metro station which makes it very easy to get to any are of Barcelona. The only thing about the hotel I feel you should know is that there is no iron in your room and if you need an iron you have to send your clothes to be ironed for a fee.

the hotel is really nice, modern design, the style is very clean and simple, the room is quite big as well. great location, you can go/get to the airport by bus, and near a big metro station which linked with a shopping centre, you can find everything you need in there. love it!

This hotel is in a fabulous location (second best to the beach) in Barcelona. It is right next to a shopping mall, a metro and bus stop and MontJuic (home to several museums, restaurants, an artisan community and outdoor festivals). The reason why I gave the hotel an average rating on maintenance is the first room I was put into had terrible mold on the bathtub partition. It was in between 2 panes of glass, but was still bad enough that I had a hard time sleeping that night and didn't take a shower that day. The second room was great. The rooftop pool is fabulous as are the snacks there. The staff is quite sweet and helpful; however, they are all young and sometimes need direction. All in all, I recommend the hotel and would stay there again. Hopefully they can keep an eye on the mold problem.

nice area, brand new mall beside it, a little far from the city center but only a few stops away. Supermarket close by was great for buying drinks. The aero bus stops across the street from the hotel. I would stay here again.

B-Hotel is clean and very modern. I stayed for five nights with my fiancee. The rates are a bit cheaper because the hotel is not located near the traditional tourist areas (Las Ramblas, Sagrada Familia). but it's very easy and cheap to get there on Barcelona's clean and efficient public transportation. You can also just walk—the top of Las Ramblas is only a bit over a mile away. The hotel IS near some other cool stuff, notably Mont Juif, which has an art museum and a museum dedicated to Joan Miro on it, as well as a castle at the top with great views. We didn't use the hotel bar or the pool. The fixtures are very modern in style (think NYC-loft-like), so if you're looking for old-fashioned this isn't the place. Service was solid. The folks at reception speak English and were efficient.

Stayed at B Hotel with a friend for long 'chill out' weekend. The location was on the tourist bus route, right next to a subway or not too expensive ride in taxi to all areas we wanted to visit. Hotel/Room was nice and modern. Plenty of room for 2 people sharing a twin. Roof top pool is small but perfectly formed... nothing better than sitting by the pool with a cool gin and tonic... Staff friendly and helpful. Came up with good eating, drinking and night club suggestions..

This was the second time in 6 months that we have stayed at this hotel. We chose it again for location and the wonderful roof pool (although not used this time round). The hotel is a modern, well maintained design and the fittings are of good quality, as is the comfort of the beds. The only negative is that the water from the shower goes everywhere due to the design of the bath and shower screen. Lighting in the bathroom is a little low but this is a very minor point. The free wifi is excellent, given the majority of hotels charge for it. Next to the hotel is the old bull ring, which was being converted whilst we were there in to a shopping mall with food outlets etc . There were roadworks going on which meant a slight inconvenience for getting to and from the metro station. The mall was due to open shortly after we left so this would probably not be an issue for much longer. The hotel is built above one of the busiest metro lines, which was not noticeable to us on our first visit to the hotel as we were on the 3rd floor at the front of the building. For our second visit we were given a room on the second floor at the side which meant that we were aware of the noise from the metro and slight tremors when the trains ran past. This really did not bother us too much but worth mentioning if you are a light sleeper. Overall this is a great value hotel, with a fantastic location, excellent transport links in and around Barcelona and to and from the airport. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is maintained to a very good standard. We will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again for future visits.

Excellent location, near Place Espagnya, a major square in Barcelona. Very clean and modern rooms and great service.

This hotel is located outside the old Barcelona area. It's close to the metro so makes it easy to get around the city. The hotel staff was very friendly. The room was nice and spacious. However, the bathroom does not have a door but it was okay for us since we are married. The room is of contemporary style. The only complain we have is that the bed was not comfortable at all. The king sized bed is actually two twin beds joined together. Also, they do not provide a comforter on the bed but a blanker is available in the room for use at night. It's not the USA so we can't expect to get everything we are used to here. For a european hotel it was a good value hotel. Our room had a balcony. That was a nice touch. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at B-Hotel.

The hotel is very close to Plaza Espana - convenient when taking public transportation from the airport. It's also a short walk to 2 different metro stops. There is a lot of construction around the hotel right now (10/2010) which made it a little inconvenient, but the construction is to build a mall right next to the B Hotel, so it will be very nice when it's completed. It's a very fast and easy ride on the Metro to get to the Ramblas, which is where we spent most of our days. The hotel is very clean and modern, and the staff was very friendly. The rooftop pool area is very nice, we didn't use it as it was a little cold, but if we had stayed there during the summer I'm sure we would have used it.

This was our second stay in B Hotel - and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are nicely designed with cool lighting, glass partitions and free, albeit patchy, wifi. Pros: Fabulous rooftop patio and pool with views, distinctive modern style, helpful staff, near Place d'Espanya Metro and sightseeing bus stop. Cons: Ultra-modern fittings now seeing a few years wear and tear, shower soaks the bathroom, quite far from the Old Town. Verdict: We'd stay there a third time!

Went for a convention at Fira Barcelona, so location was great (3 metro station). Stayed 5 nights, rooms nice and clean, with view on Plaza de Espana. Food at the bar good for the price and convenient if you are too tired to get out...Roof top pool amazing. Would go back.

Great front desk staff. Breakfast good and filling but expensive. Design of the hotel spaces is nice to look at and calming. That said, the ultra modern materials are not aging well with use and sometimes form has been allowed to trump function. The switches are incomprehensible and the rigourous minimalism appears to disallow towel racks, etc., and this may become annoying during a longer stay. The space was fun though for our single night. Swimming over the city in the roof-edge pool, on an early fall evening under a full moon, was magical and actually an unexpected high point of the entire trip to Barcelona.

Bottom line is that the rooms are cool/unique/comfy all the same time. The staff was friendly and fluent english speakers and the roof top pool is cooler than Vegas. Biggest downside is the $20 breakfast that they clearly aim toward business travelers that have the company picking up the bill. Luckily, you're in Spain, the land of cheap and tasty breakfasts. Walk a couple blocks South and your good on places to eat. I recommend to anyone looking for a unique hotel at a great price.

Great hotel! The staff was very gracious. They helped us find stores that sold specialized bicycle equipment and other things, they also spoke great English, which was really helpful. Our collective Spanish is barely passable. THe hotel was very modern and fun. The room was VERY comfortable. Our only problem was that the bathroom shower sprays all over the bathroom due to cool modern, but impractical, design.

Very enjoyable stay. Great location, 2 min walk to metro stop. Swimming pool on the roof, very small however clean and great view from the top. Very modern interior. Helpful staff at reception. Would recommend without any hesitation.

It was clean, convenient, and quiet. The pool was a bit small, but great for a refreshing dip. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed in the B-hotel for 3 days. Everything is perfect! Staffs are very nice and helpful. Also, the location is super convenient, it's just 3 mins walk from Metro and 15 mins bus to the airport. I will definitely go back again.

The hotel is in an excellent location, just off the Placa de Espanya and very convenient to the Metro. It is clean and comfortable. I would give the hotel an overall rating of 5 but for the lighting in the room. We had some trouble figuring out how to turn some of the lights on and the lighting in the bathroom was not good for applying makeup.

This modern boutique hotel is the perfect place to stay while in Barcelona. The staff were very helpful, the ammenities were great. It's very close to the metro and the train station. It has a great roofdeck pool that was the perfect place to unwind with sangria after a day of touring the city. I was sceptical to stay here because the price and reviews were so good I figured I was missing something, but they were right. It's a fabulous hotel at a great price!

good location, nice staffs. I stayed in 4 different hotels in Spain during this vacation. All hotels were in same price range. I can say that this hotel was the best. All staffs were really helpful whenever I needed something and whenever I asked them about city tour.

Our stay at the B Hotel was what we were looking for. It is not in the heart of the tourist traps, but it is still walking distance to an art museum (I forget the name), a slightly longer walk to Las Ramblas and the big food market, and the train is very close by if you want to get around to other sites. I loved having an outdoor pool to lay by in the afternoons after walking around during the mornings, and what a view! The train system was pretty easy to navigate if you wanted to get to the Park Guell or la Sagrada Familia. There were only 3 minor things I didn't enjoy: 1. the "king-size" bed we ordered turned out to be 2 smaller beds pushed together and covered with bigger sheets. not terrible, but I would have liked to have known that going in 2. no washcloths (though none of the other 3 hotels we stayed at on this trip had them either, so maybe that's an American thing) and 3. Loud doors. The first night we stayed there, there were some late-night partiers going room to room, and their doors kept slamming and waking us up. Overall though, the rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The neighborhood was nice, and easy to get around.

Hotel is on Playa Espanya. I'm happy with the room for its price, and excellent customer service. Nice pool on the roof top with great view. Very convenient location, 2 minute walk to metro, tourist info booth, and bus stops, including Aerobus to/from airport. Walking distance to Magic Fountain and Pueblo Espanol. Tourist booth guides in red shirt are very helpful. Hop on/off with "Bus Turistic" was great and can catch it almost anywhere, better than Barcelona City Tour bus. Train trip to Montserrat was only 22 euros and well worth it.

Stayed in this hotel after our cruise. Front desk staff was very helpful. They let us leave our luggage in their locker room, so we could out while waiting for check-in time. Location is on Playa Espana, which is conveniently very close to metro, tourist info booth, Aerobus stop, Magic Fountain, and cafes. Only few minutes to get to Las Ramblas via metro train. Taxi cab from cruise port to B-hotel was reasonable (paid 26 euros for 4 people), but would not recommend taking taxi to airport (100 euros!), better off with Aero bus for only 5 euros per person. My only dislike is the shower wall, which does not have enclosure. It did not bother me much though. Just had to make sure shower sprays towards the front.

Free wifi and a computer you can use in the lobby, very nice feature. Sits in the Plaza Espanya which is a great part of Barcelona to be in. 5 minute walk to Montjuic area, where the Magic Fountain is located, an impressive looking art museum behind it, if you keep on walking the olympic park, and eventually up a hill there is a fortress over looking the whole city. B-hotel is also located right next to the Metro and Barcelona's public transportation is some of the best we've seen, although be careful metros stop around 10:30pm. It's only a 5 minute metro ride on the red line to Drassanes to bring you to the end of La ramblas and to the Waterfront area where the aquarium and great restaurants are located. Also roof top bar/pool area (although a bit chilly to swim in by mid-september). Oh and the staff was very friendly and spoke perfect english (which is not all that common through out barcelona). Hope this helps!
