Great staff!

ordered a club room, was given a standard room

Very friendly staff. Lovely grounds and good restaurants. Rooms are comfortable but need a face lift. I love the old INN feeling of the place.

There were no biscuits in the room and no pens to write with. The rooms are looking rather shabby for a 4 star hotel.

This 1800-century hotel is very incomfortable and equipped with old incomfortable furniture. No lifts in the entire hotel; Mickey Mouse beds (s.c. single beds) instead of real beds [I rented a small sailing boat last summer which had bigger beds than here]. No minibar. Outdated bathrooms. Outdated windows. What more do you want. Save yourself an unpleasant experiance - Go Elsewhere.

clean comfortable but could do with a touch of paint and the sockets were unable to be used as the desk was to close resulting in unable to plug in appliances

Had a family room which was dull & depressing with damp patches on the ceiling. The room had old crittle windows & in the morning was full of condensation. Would recommend upgrading your room. Very disappointed & expected more for the price we paid for the room. The drink prices were very extortionate. There are better hotels near Gatwick Airport.

This is a great hotel when you have an early morning flight out of Gatwick. The hotel room was very clean and spacious. The staff friendly and the food very good. There is a bus service going to Gatwick every hour beginning at 5:10 a.m.

Have been going got this hotel on and off for 20yrs and enjoy its excellent location and extensive grounds. However regular maintenance in the rooms is terrible. furniture chipped,rugs that do not look as though thay have been cleaned since the day they were installed.Sad that what could be a fine hotel has been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent

Staff were helpful, able to provide convenient taxi services. The room was very comfortable, particularly impressed with the jacuzzi bath. Was able to park car for week whilst on holiday in Greece.

I had booked this room for my mom and daughter to stay in, having stayed there myself a few years back. They had the check out date wrong, the rooms were pokey. The mini fridge didn't work. My mother and daughter had to be switched to 3 different rooms because of problem with plumbing. Breakfast orders were wrong. Housekeeping requests ignored. I left them my credit details to charge all room service my mother and daughter ordered to my card, and when they checked out they forced my mother to pay charges on HER credit card! It was a nightmare, not using this hotel again.

If you look at a place that you can sleep properly before flying just avoid this hotel... Filthy, smelly, dark, no courtesies definitely not a great place to stay.

hotel was lovely but had to change rooms due to room being in need of refurb , room given was slightly better and only using this for one night it was ok . the hotel stated that refurb was in progress .

We thoroughly recommend the Copthorne; comfortable room, good food, pleasant surroundings. In particular I would commend the reception staff who were exceptionally helpful assisting us to re-schedule our flights to Zimbabwe when we were caught by the Air Zimbabwe pilots' strike.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, however, the room I had was an extremely long way from reception, I would have preferred something closer, although it was very quiet which was great. The room itself, with rough walls seemed to be quite dark and for a double room only had 1 chair, which if eating in your room is quite unacceptable. I ordered room service - the meal came with mashed potatoes not french fries as the menu stated, no salt / pepper were provided. The selection if wines available per glass (which as a sole traveller would always be my preference) was very poor. Although I had a dongle, there were no wireless reception at the hotel. I paid to use their own system, which didn't work even after 3 phone conversations with an engineer. Parking was atrocious - trying to find somewhere was a nightmare and to cap it all I had to apy extra to park my car at the hotel - I have never ever heard of this before. I will definitely not be returning there.

Accommodation clean and comfortable. The breakfast was of good quality.

We stayed at the Copthorne hotel for 3 nights whilst on business in the area. Our room had been recently refurbished with a smart bathroom and comfortable bed. It was a long way from reception which we considered to be a bonus as it was very quiet. The reception staff were all very helpful and professional. There were 2 restaurants, one offering only a buffet meal at the time we were there and the other an a la carte menu. We chose the latter and would recommend it. In fact there is nothing I can say to fault the Copthorne and I would definitely stay there again.

It would be great if you offer breakfast with the price and also the internet service

The Copthorne was just what you wanted for an overnight stay - nice looking, comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful - even when we ended up changing rooms twice (don't ask - Mothers!). Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with tea and coffee provided, tv (whose remote control was a little oversensitive!) en suite bathroom with a lovely powerful shower and a separate dressing area with a mirror table with lights all around it. It was a very hot night and even though the windows were wide open it was still warm in the room, but they provided a fan so that was fine. We remembered to pick up towels from reception before heading for the pool (which is a trek) but if you don't you can get one there for £1. The pool is small and isn't supposed to have kids in after 6, but they let some of them stay, I'm not sure why. Sauna and steam were nice and relaxing. Had dinner at the Bistro - food very good, service slightly less so. Long corridors make trips to your room with luggage lengthy and I don't think there's a lift. Normally they charge £5 per night for parking but they didn't on this occasion as there was a wedding in the hotel.

Older hotel. No AC. Unsatisfied with evening staff

I loved this place! I hope I have to fly in or out of Gatwick again so that I have an excuse to stay here. The price was extremely reasonable, considering the historicity of the buildings and the beauty of the room. The hotel is built around a 16th century farmhouse, and preserves the look through much of the interior. We had a 'club king' room with a whirlpool tub, very fancy. Everything was lovely, except the prices & service in the pub.

A dreadful experience. Upon arrival the first challenge is finding a parking space because the hotel serves as a long-term parking facility to airport travelers. Your next challenge is finding the hotel lobby because they don't provide enough signage. If lucky enough to find the front desk you will be greeted by an unfriendly, cold desk cleark who will provide you with a key to an old, dark, poorly ventilated room with furnishings more than fifty years old. The phone system is likely as old as the furniture because the connection between my room and room service was fuzzy and garbled. On a positive note the individual who delivered my room service WAS friendly and helpful. The only other positive note is the hotel's proximity to London Gatwick, only a five minute drive.

The Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick is on a beautiful site and appears to have been a very nice hotel at some time in the past. Our room had shabby looking scuffed furniture and poorly repaired grout in the bathroom. The faucet dripped in the tub and the air conditioning did not work in our room causing it to have a musty smell. (Since our flight was delayed we didn't arrive until about 2 AM and were leaving at 9 AM so we didn't have time to ask for repairs or a different room.)The room was a comfortable size, the bath linens were very nice, and the breakfast buffet was good.

Our room did not have air conditioning. The weather was cool, so this was not a problem, however, I have allergies and was worried about having the windows open. We were also on the ground floor, another reason to not want windows open.

Copthorne Gatwick kan anbefales. Hotellet har kort vei til Gatwick(ca 10min). Litt stive priser i restaurant og bar i forhold til hva man får. Parkering og internett er kostbart. Internett må kjøpes i tillegg og enkelte rom har ikke WIFI, mens andre har eget god dekning. Hotellet har et meget bra treningssenter som trekker inntrykket opp.

Hotellet mycket mysigt med fina rum, trevlig miljö, dock kan det vara långt till rummen med mycket bagage, det består av många byggnader som är ihop byggda. långa och trixiga gångar. Mycket trevlig personal.

Mycket trevligt hotell. Ger en känsla av att vara betydligt mindre än det är. Mycket bra personal i såväl reception som restauranger. Fantastisk fruckost.
