The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel - شيانج ماي

Stayed 10 days and overall had an enjoyable stay.Negatives- reception have limited english skills,cannot think outside the square,ie.cheaper to book on internet in foyer than at desk.No Fox channel on TV,and no variety at breakfast.

Excellent Hotel

Close to night market - 5 minute walk. Close to night-life, and restaurants / bars.

Only issue was the door/bellboy guy - he wasn't on top of things. Got us a "taxi" that was some girl on the street with her personal car, and she was overpriced. I have higher expectations and trust in hotel service.

Unlike a nearby hotel with similar star rating this hotel was 'as advertised' - no nasty surprises. Any issue I had was incidental, such as limited cereal choice and no skim milk. The gym is not well equipped, but that's pretty much what one expects with hotels.

This is another one of those hotels that I can't figure out why it is rated so high. 3 Stars was too high- I see it as a 2 at best. Hotel in need of a major renovation after the last one two years prior. Although they claim to be still renovating and it is obvious from the entrance; the hotel doesn't mention this on their site or in the description. The lobby had chips in the marble; elevator badly scratched and worn; the hallways had stained carpet in need of replacement and the room was dismal with a combination of wear and neglect, not to mention poorly cleaned. I did immediately check out and fortunately got a full refund. The Dusit D2 is now where I am at and it is light-years from the quality for slightly more in price.

This hotel is in an outstanding location to many of the areas markets and restaurants, the housekeeping and hotel staff were great, along with the lobby, pool and grounds, however our room was in need updating with carpeting, the bathroom had black mold and the pillows were below standard, otherwise the hotel was worth the price we paid.

A very last minute booking to a destination I had not been to and I was surprised at hotel for the web based I price paid.It is an old hotel so go with this in mind. Security level was good and pool very pleasant. Breakfast was included in price and was basic but more than enough for everyone.Food in Chinese restaurant also good. Internet free for one hour in lobby for all guests each day. Nearby entertainment and night market 10 minutes walk. European style pubs cater for all.

The Imperial Mae Ping is a very comfortable hotel with efficient, friendly staff. It is in a good location near the night market and about 15-20minute walk from the Wat's (Wat Phra Singh etc) in Chiang Mai. There are not many negatives at all - the hotel has a good sized swimming pool in addition to the clean, comfotable rooms. Recommended as very good value for money and a real 4 star hotel.

There were some positives for this hotel. We arrived at 10 AM and they allowed up to check in right away. There are three restaurants in the hotel to choose from. It was pretty inexpensive for a 4 star hotel. The positives end there. The hotel service was awful. The consierge/hotel service desk was never staffed so I stopped by the front desk for help. They directed me to their "Taxi Service/Tourism" person to answer my questions regarding tourist attractions in the Chiang Mai area. I had questions regarding cost of entry, hours of operation, show times, etc. She answered every single question incorrectly. Every time and price she gave me was wrong. Furthermore, she was very condescending and rude was answering these questions. The hotel's taxi service is very overpriced and the front desk refuses to call you an independent taxi. Since taxis don't drive by the area of the hotel, you're forced to pay for their taxi. My wife ordered a burger "well done" at their restaurant and it came to us "raw". The entire inside was still uncooked. The buffet breakfast is alright, but all of the fruit was covered in small bugs. Most of the channels on the televion had static. Even with the price we paid, I would have rather spent more to stay at a nicer hotel. You should definitely avoid this hotel. I've stayed at around 30 hotels in 8 southeast Asian countries, and this hotel has been my most disappointing experience.

After reading othe reviews I was unsure whether booking this hotel was a mistake. However apart from the bathroom being a little bit run down (the black mold around the bathroom / shower edges, and slightly old carpets), the hotel is actually quite good. The swimming pool, lobby, restaurants etc. are all very impressive, and very usable. I would rate these services 4*, with the rooms being 3*. A good base for Chian Mai !

Great location and the staff was excellent.

We found the hotel is aging but with good staff and at the good rate we had a great deal. The room was OK but I have to take off points for the bed. The bed was very hard and left us aching in the morning. The breakfast buffet was great. We had horrible neighbors that had screaming kids running between the rooms at late hours and slamming doors on the security lock for hours. I complained to the hotel and I think they had a word with the guests. All in all, at the rate we had the room it was a great value.

1. Quality of water in shower when first used unclean and caused skin rash. 2. Hard to get service when at the 2nd floor pool...need to traipse into the hotel each time you want a drink. 3. Carpet in the room is very old and need change. 4. As many Thai people stay at this hotel, they should be have personal hygiene washer attach to toilet. However, breakfast is good, friendly and helpful staff and good location...good value for money!!!

Recommended, value for money, good location...15 min away from the Airport n walking distance to Night bazaar n Sunday Night Market. There is also a FREE Shutter bus service to the Airport Departmental Store (largest one there i believe).

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Chaing Mai, but the facilities the service, the location and friendleness of staff is better than my previous stays in Chaing Mai. I will return to Mae Ping on my future visits to Chaing MaiChaing Mai.

no complaints with the mai ping.great location,staff friendly and able to assist with any query.only slight complaint would be the shower.if you are over 5ft 8 or 9 you will have to be some sort of gymnast to have a comfortable shower.apart from that all was ok.

The Mae Ping Hotel is considered a 'luxury' hotel and the grounds and front desk area are beautiful. I was surprised to learn that it cost $$$ to get wifi in your room. For such a pricey hotel, I would think that they hosted many business people who carry their own laptops and work in their rooms. I was disappointed that wifi was not a free amenity as it was in all the other hotels we stayed at in our 3 week vacation.

Unfriendly and snobby staffs. Rooms are old, towels are yellow. A very old 4 star hotel at a very expensive rate. The only saving grace was it's location and quiet vicinity. Staffs' preference to serve farangs than Asian cos of tips! Regretted stay there. Gonna cancel my next booking and stay somewhere else.

The hotel allowed us to do an early check in and the service is to be commended. The state of the rooms is old and most of the furniture in our room was broken (cupboard, stool and toilet). Great location but rooms need attention.

This hotel is close to the Night Bazaar and lots of eateries and bars within easy walking distance. The staff were all unfailingly polite, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with good quality and varied choices. The only downside was the local Thai Boxing venue which used loudspeakers until the early hours making sleep difficult. Would recommend booking rooms overlooking the pool at the rear of the hotel.

Nice hotel only the bathroom shower was not clean. The water that came out of the shower was brown due the rusty shower.

Rooms were large, clean and very well equiped with good size bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and enough to TV channels to keep you occupied if required. We did not use bars or restaurants in hotel as plenty outside to chose from but all looked very nice. Lovely outside bar area with reasonable priced drinks and free popcorn with drinks. Swimming pool was very nice but shaded from the afternoon onwards.Breakfast very nice with plenty of choice including eggs made in front of you however you wanted them. Internet expensive at hotel but plenty of internet cafes within 2 minute walk. Night market only 5 minutes walk away and plenty of cheap tuk tuk outside of hotel ready to take you on a short trip or a longer trip around chaing mai

Overall enjoyed our stay. The hotel has many resort features-lovely pool,beautiful grounds. Staff was helpful. The rooms are in need of an upgrade. The bathroom in our first room was moldy-very black tiles. Our second room was somewhat better.Carpets are not in good shape.The main parts are excellent,nice bar with 2 for 1 prices,lots of entertainment.Breakfast included was excellent. Good tour person in lobby.The 4 of us were happy with the hotel except for room concerns. Great location to Night Market area.

Great Location Esp. for night market. Lovely Pool (2!) and huge buffet breakfast. Met all our expectations.

I didn't expect this hotel ,because I paid specific room rate and it was very cheap. But this hotel was great; clean, kind, and great morning buffet-fresh vegetables and fruits and food. I recommend this hotel.

This hotel was in a great location - within walking distance to shopping and the night market. It was secure and the staff was attentive. The spa was fantastic and very inexpensive (about $70 for 3 hours of treatments). The staff spoke English pretty well (except for the waiters in the main restaurant), and the tour desk did an excellent job of setting us up on an elephant trek - an incredible experience. Overall, this hotel was a good choice during our vacation around Asia.

Das Hotel war sauber, jedoch wurden die Badetuecher nur auf unsere interversion gewechselt. Da wir alle Tage zwei Mal duschten, waren die Tuecher bald nicht mehr higyenisch. Die Tuecher sollten mindestens jeden zweiten Tag automatisch gewechselt werden.

一共住了5天。第一天到酒店是11点多，酒店没有大床房，前台希望我换成双人房，被我拒绝。最后给了豪华房，去到才知道豪华房是楼层好的地方。至于景色嘛。。。清迈都是好风光，没有太大不同。 酒店位置不在旧城，但天天走走也不远。我因为泼水节后来换了U-Hotel感觉U-hotel的内部不如美萍。 酒店是老点，但我觉得价格可以接受。主要是早餐好吃，选择多（我的要求不高）。周围吃饭就要去找，附近有关日系自助餐，在酒店的东面。250铢一个人。 优点不说了，缺点提给后人： 1、上网要钱，我都是出去上。 2、周围比较安静，不适合去清迈找乐。情侣就无所谓。 3、电视仅有英文和日本/泰国台，看不懂（但很少看电视） 综合说，我还是挺怀恋这家邓丽君住过的酒店，真有特色。

Den venlige,kendte thai service,var ikke at finde noget sted på hotellet. Alting meget firkantet og uhjælpsomme.

님만해민과 가깝고 시내로의 접근성도 좋습니다. 가격대비 나쁘지않습니만 허니문이나 깔끔함을 원하는 분에겐 비추천합니다. 비지니스나 타이의 느낌을 맛보고자 하는 분에겐 강추!! 특히 쇼핑센터와 함께있어 입출구찾기가 다소 복잡한 느낌입니다.

Hotellet ligger rigtig godt placeret lige i centrum. Hotellet virker dog lidt slidt og det samme gør personalet. det er dog et udmærket hotel til et par dage og det er prismæssigt fornuftigt.

Although the facilities in this hotel are pretty old, I did enjoy my 3-Day stay there. The staff are very inviting and helpful. What I like it most is the great location. You just need to walk 5 minutes to the night market!!!

Hotel is a 4**** and have all facility's you expect from a hotel like this. Verry good restaurants, nice bar, beautiful garden with bbq restaurant. Breakfast is little poor, not continental, only asian. You do not expect this, the rest of the hotel is really good.

Frühstück gute Auswahl sonstiges Essen eher marginal, vor allem der Biergarten. Im eigentlichen Restaurant haben wir am Abend nie Gäste gesehen. Die Küchenähliche Anlage, wo ich vor allem chinesische Küche vermute, ist unfreundlich eingerichtet. Lockt nicht zum Essen.

ナイトバザールに近く、立地条件は良かった。 ホテル設備のうち、気になったのはシャワーなどの水道水がかなりサビくさい事と、プールのタオルがくさかった事。 プライスとの見合いは良いと思う。 朝食は近所のカフェを利用していたので不明。 滞在の日本人はゴルフ客を良く見かけた。
