The Mad Hatter Hotel - لندن

This hotel is in walking distance to the South Bank and Southwark sights, and a quick trip over Blackfriars bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral and Fleet Street. It's nice to be connected to the pub for a quick drink or bite to eat. Rooms had plenty of space. Beds were stiff but clean and the room was overall very comfortable--nothing fancy but very safe and just fine as a base for touring around. Southwark tube station on the Jubilee is an easy walk or Waterloo station is a couple blocks to the west.

We certainly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Mad Hatter Hotel. The room was fresh and clean. Housekeeping was spot-on at keeping the room ready for us each day. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, so we didn't have a nice view but the trade off was we didn't have the street noise from the busy traffic in front. Ask for the rooms on the back of the hotel when you book. Check in was quick and accurate, the on site pub/restaurant was very convienant serving a nice breakfast and dinner. The breakfast can be part of your room bill and they charged the dinner meals right to our room bill. A quick walk to the underground and a bus stop right across the street. Very easy to get to transportation. I'd stay here again. Great weekend!!!!

Friendly staff, excellent location , felt welcome, nice and clean room. At times the room felt a little overheated.

Great overnight stay at a lovely hotel. Fantastic service from all the staff in both the hotel and the adjoining pub/resturant. Fantastic location - close to the South Bank and just a short distance from Waterloo train station. Style of hotel completely in tune with the age of the building and the pub is a beautiful old fashioned kitted out in wood affair - fantastic. We liked it a lot. Only 2 minor things, the bed was not the most comfortable and sqeaked a bit but not enough of a problem to complain. And if you need a taxi its probably better to find a place to flag down a London cab as the one arranged by reception (for 2 seperate journeys) over charged on the second journey. Overall though a great stay and would use this hotel again if the price was right.

Conveniently situated about 6 mins walk from South Bank Centre. Breakfast was delicious - hot freshly cooked scones, plus all the usual English Breakfast choices. The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were very helpful at all times. We would definitely stay here again.

The Mad Hatter is 10 minutes from the Waterloo train station, 5 minutes from the Southwark tube station, and in a good location for walking to see the Globe, the Tate, the Eye, and many other attractions. The rooms are well appointed and kept and quiet, and the pub has good food and drink. Excellent value!

Good hotel on the South bank near many cultural attractions in Southwark - good transport access. Meals very traditional as hotel above a pub and good value.

Cozy room, well run, solid pub downstairs, walkable to all the good stuff in central London, and a fair price.

The hotel was about 10 mins from the closest train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The area was good and we felt comfortable walking around at night to see the London eye lit up. I would definitely stay there again.

Just a short walk across the river from St Pauls area. Fairly typical London hotel of being quite expensive for what you get and looking a bit tired. Staff friendly and helpful.

Loved the hotel, the staff and the whole ambience. What's not to love about an adjoining pub/restaurant! Wish I could live there full time! I will definitely be going back.

booked into the Mad Hatter for an overnight stay with a friend and found the hotel staff to be warm and friendly and very helpful. The bar has a nice atmosphere and the staff serving were very nice and nothing was too much trouble. Even at 1am when I wanted a bottle of water!

WAS GREETED IMMEDIATELY BY VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, TWIN ROOM HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. ALTHOUGH BEDS WERE A BIT WOBBLY IT DIDNT STOP US HAVING GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP-OUR ROOM WAS AT THE FRONT BUT WE DIDNT FIND IT TOO NOISY & SLEPT WELL. GREAT LOCATION, CLOSE TO TATE MODERN & MILLENIUM BRIDGE WHICH LEADS TO ST PAULS. GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY, WOULD USE AGAIN.

The Mad Hatter is located within a reasonable walking distance to the city center, sights of the South Bank + the Waterloo train station, however for Tube connections it's not exactly optimal. Room was clean and free wireless worked perfectly. Didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that, but tried some traditional pub grub in the evening and that was just great. Accompanied by a nice selection of ales - what more can you ask for after a long day!

Very pleasant and helpful front desk staff

we picked the mad hatters because it was near to our concert gig at the royal festival hall. The hotel was clean and quiet (we were round the back though!). I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay although a long walk back after a tiring day!!! We didn't opt for the breakfast which was very expensive, we could have it for half price 5 minutes away on the south bank. Overall we had a very comfortable stay.

We had a twin room, and were more than happy with it. We walked from Waterloo station to the hotel, and into central london along the South Bank. The hotel was clean and comfortable, didnt use teh restaurant so couldn't comment on that, but the menu looked good for London prices (apart from a ridiculously expensive breakfast, which we avoided!) Would go back again.

A great Victorian pub with real character. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The food and the beer in the pub were great. A short walk from many attractions. Highly recommended.

The staff was delightful, room was clean and comfortable.

Our stay at the Mad Hatter was great despite the fact that we had to change rooms late at night on the first night of our stay. With our travel plans disrupted by hurricane Irene in the US, we found ourselves unexpectedly in London a few days earlier than we had planned. When I saw a great deal on this room we decided to take a chance on it and we were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly, the location cannot be beat, especially for the price we paid. We loved the complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits. Our only problem was that the toilet leaked in the first room we had. This wasn't a huge deal at first, but when the toilet stopped flushing because of it we had to call to complain. The woman on staff that night said that she could not fix it, but would change us to another room. She offered to help take our things to the new room and offered us drinks at the bar to compensate for the inconvenience. The new room was actually a lot nicer than our original room, so we were quite pleased. The only other down side was that the beds were not super comfortable. That said, we found it to be a charming and relaxing place that we really enjoyed. Now we are staying in very cheap budget accommodations and I really wish we could go back to the Hatter. Will stay there again!

We found this a great little independent hotel close to Thames. Smart comfortable rooms on par with four start chains. Very helpful reception. Would definitely use this hotel again.

I definitely recommend this hotel. It is great value for money.

This hotel is situated on a busy junction of a capital city so expect some noise ! Any traveller worth his/her salt should avail themselves of a set of trusty ear plugs - you may need them here. Not because of rowdy revellers but of the traffic noise outside which seems to go through the night. That said, The Mad Hatter Hotel is a nice looking accommodation where you will find a friendly welcome and good food. The bedroom was quite large by London standards ,with fully opening windows - although you may want to avoid this due to the noise - clean sheets and tidy, well stocked drinks with kettle make this a welcome haven after a hard day on the tourist trail. I would recommend this hotel as it is well situated for all things 'South Bank' and it has a 'home from home' feel.

Great place to stay. It was conveniently located to all the attractions and tours. Bus and trains were easy to get around the city and they were in walking distance of the hotel. Staff was every helpful and friendly. We would recommend this hotel.

Nothing fancy, but the location was excellent. Wireless internet was hit and miss. Breakfast was pretty good.

Hotel was very accomodating regarding adding my wife and two daughters. However they made no attempt to provide useful information on parking and have no provision of somewhere to off-load a car temporarily. Perhaps they don't get many customers with cars?

We struggled to find an affordable hotel in London during a very busy time. After reading the reviews for this hotel, I booked not expecting much. Much to my surprise, this was wonderful! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quaint. Although there was no air conditioning, they put fans in our room to help with the heat wave which was occurring. The final coup d'taut was that there was a wonderful, air conditioned Fullers Pub attached to the hotel. I am fully recommending this hotel to all my friends and family!

We stayed at the Mad Hatter hotel for 7 days. The hotel was easy to find, a quick 5 minute walk from Southward station. The area is very quiet, and a little sketchy at night, but overall quite safe. The staff were friendly, service was prompt, and the room was clean. Furniture was a bit outdated, but this was not a priority for our stay at the hotel. We liked the adjacent pub, which offered a good breakfast for only 8 pounds, and really nice tasting coffee and cheap ale. Free WiFi was a definite plus.

Overall it was a great stay. We stayed at the hotel for a total of 4 nights and had no problems. The hotel is conveniently located near the tube station and it is in walking distance to many landmarks such as the Tate Modern and Globe Theater. The pub downstairs was nice and served very good food! I recommend trying one of their pies, which they are famous for! We received a prompt wake up call each morning and had no problem with noise, even though it's in the heart of the city. The bathroom was tight, but that is to be expected and the bed was somewhat lumpy. The only other thing was the view from our room...it was a back alley with a clear view of an abandoned building, which wasn't the best thing to look at. There is free Wi-Fi though and all and all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Very well located and near to Tate Modern, and London Eye. Reception Service very good and helpful staff each day. Residents Bar bit scrappy if you come back late. Confusion over prices led to a long delay in getting late night drink. Small gripe but has to be said. Overall this hotel is very adequate for a short sightseeing stay in London.

We booked early and got a very good rate. The hotel itself was a little dingy inside the room---carpet worn and a little left over smike smell. Nice bar/restaurant below and decent food. Breakfast available for extra $ but nice option first morning until settled in. Located close to london eye and other nice sites so good overall experience. Staff also had converter for my curling iron and ipod which they lent us.

Stayed for one night but would have happily stayed longer. All staff pleasant and helpful.Very convenient for waterloo station(less than 10 min walk) and the South Bank. Only minus point was traffic noise but would ask for room at rear next time. Had lunch in bar(traditional London pub) perfectly acceptable freshly prepared food. All round a little gem will defo return!

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Waterloo underground station. About a 20 minute walk to London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament. The staff was friendly and the restaurant connected to it was good and affordable. Room was a bit small by American standards, but quite roomy by European standards.
