Clarion Hotel Sligo - سليجو

When we drove up to the hotel it was beautiful from the outside but once inside our room we were very disappointed. Although the room was spacious it was very choppy and the doors to the bedroom and living room had to be propped open with furniture. I suggest removing the doors all together. The decor was just standard and not what we would expect from a 4 star hotel. We stay in many other four star hotels in Irteland on this trip and this hotel definitely did not compare to their standard.

very comfortable room and a excellent service by all staff, i would recommend this hotel to everyone, great room that had plenty of space for us and our two children who really enjoyed there time there and use of the swimming pool,

Our stay at The Clarion Sligo was very pleasant. The location was a good 20 minute walk from Sligo Town however this afforded peace and quiet in a beautiful building. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The suite was excellent value for money and the Gym, Spa and Pool were a welcome retreat. The only critisism is that you can see that the hotel was initially refurbished to a high standard and quality finish unfortunatley this hasnt been kept up and the decor is looking rather tatty and in need of repair in a few areas. Other than that a very pleasant stay and I would reccommend this hotel to prospective customers..

This is a very conveniently located hotel for the traveller-but not if using public transport as it is on the edge of sligo town. There is an excellent car park in the grounds. The building is impressive and very comfortable with all the ususal comforts of a hotel of its class. We stayed the one night on this occasion and were given a very sizable and comfortable room with one of the largest bathrooms I have seen but one of the most sterile. It appeared to be wheel chair friendly but had a bath. It would benefit from some shelves or counter surfaces even if it was only somewhere to put your glasses while taking a shower! The desk staff were informative and very helpful. We would have no difficulty in recommending this place to others and we will return shortly for another stay.

I would definitely recommend The Clarion Hotel in Sligo. The hotel sits impressively in its own grounds and the castle like exterior of the building retains the character of its previous lives. The hotel is spotlessly clean with very large well appointed rooms and a modern décor. The food in Kudos restaurant was of a good standard and the service in the restaurant and bar was very efficient. The location of the hotel is quite good, it is a mile or two from the town centre but this allows it to enjoys its tranquil setting and taxies into the town can be ordered at the hotel reception desk and are very reasonably priced. Sligo is a bustling town with a few surprisingly good shops and some very good pubs and restaurants.. We will certainly be back for another break in the near future.

I have stayed at a number of Choice Hotels in Canada, France and Ireland. This is the first stay at a hotel with a previous history of the building being used for a hospital. It was a lovely change and a wonderful conversion to a hotel. The setting and architecture were delightful. The only problem was the distance from the front lobby to our room, but we were warned of this by the receptionist. Perhaps, there could be other doors allowing closer access to the various wings from the parking lot.

Breakfast was bad. Room was run-down. Nothing nearby. Not much to do there.

From start to end the stay at the Clarion in Sligo was enjoyable. The location, the reception service and the room was lovely.

Ideal for families plenty do do in surrounding area.

This hotel is beautiful from the outside but a little run down on the inside. We were given a room with a handicap shower which was difficult to use.

hotel was nice but the corridors are terrible be prepared for a very long walk to your room !!!!!maybe a map at checkin or better signs in corridors as got completly lost on one occasion and met others also lost

The dining area and 2nd bed area are really handy for a five night stay. Very friendly staff. Breakfast can tend to get cold if you are late down. Overall highly recommended value for money hotel.

but unfortunately the inside is not that exiting. The Hotel is huge so you have to walk a mile to your room which might take you a while since it is likely to get lost. All in all the Hotel is clean, but not very comfy. Also a bit of maintenance is needed to fix up the torn carpet in the hallways. Still, I had a good night sleep, in a clean and very big room and considering the price, I would visit this hotel again.

I was expecting a suite but was unprepared for how big this room was (actually 2 large rooms comprising of a sitting room with double sofa bed and a bedroom with a large double and a single). The beds were very comfortable. Staff were helpful and firendly. Would definately stay here again.

This is a beautiful, and comfortable hotel. I loved the building itself. It was really historic and picturesque. My only concern was that our room was so far away from reception with no direct path to and from reception. It was up one lift and down another. Other than that it was a lovely stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel is gorgeous. We had a big suite which was probable bigger than the average apartment!! Its a few minutes out of town but taxi in is €8. Worth it though as its set in its own grounds. Staff were lovely, it was spotless, the building is old beautiful stone (the history was funny when we found out) and the interior is very modern. Didnt drink or eat there or use the spa so cant comment. Would definetly stay again and recommed to everyone. Good value for money too considering what you got.

We had a great deal for a 2 night stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely, the hotel is georgous and very clean. We booked a room for three consisting of one double and one twin. The size of our room was a nice suprise, great big bedroom and living space, and spacious bathroom. The facilities are excellent. Only a 10 minute walk/5 minute drive from the town. We went to Sligo for the Sligo music festival, so the location of the hotel is perfect for taxi's in and out of town. We would certainly reccomend it!

Our stay in the hotel was great apart from the room was very cold.

Impressive building and big spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable beds. All facilities you would expect. Very good value for money and would use it again. You would be insane not to use this hotel and when you visit you will understand the joke

The hotel exterior is beautiful, but it's history is a bit weird. It was a lunatic asylum before being taken over by the Clarion (we were told to put Mental Health Road into our GPS to locate them), and so it's Elizabethan architecture makes it look a little frightening. To go with that the room we had had 14' ceilings and an all-white tiled bathroom with too little lighting or decoration to make it cozy. Also, as we found in many European hotels, there was no air, so we ended up with a bee in our room. Our room was also in the wing next door to the dorms of the art college so it was a little noisy at night.

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff at check-in were very unpleasant. The porter took 15 minutes to arrive. The room was noisy and the handles were falling off the door. We woke up to this earthquake on Saturday morning. The breakfast was the worst breakfast I have experienced in my life. My friends treatments were a disaster. They got the bookings all mixed up and the beautician left my friend in the room for 25 minutes with a face mask. I also rang the hotel to ask them if I left the charger in the room. They said they would ring me back and I never heard back from them.

We were in an appartment on the to the side of the main hotel, and were very happy with our room. We had a bedroom and large seperate sitting room, with a kitchen. We also had a DVD player, which we found very convenient. This was a beautiful hotel, and although slightly outside of Sligo is still very accesible. I would definetly stay here again.

The hotel was absolutly gorgeous. The building was stunning and the rooms were clean and spacious. I would definitly reccomend it to anyone and would love to go back. Three of us stayed all together and no one had any complaints. The staff were lovely and if you ever needed anything they would arrange it staright away.

Nice apartment, pretty clean. Disappointed that use of pool, gym etc. is €12 extra!!! Didn't eat here so cannot comment. Cocktails were nice but service at the bar was extremely poor.

Nice Hotel, Stayed in apartments which were very nice, two comments though: 1) the gym/pool is not included if you are staying in the apartments (€12 extra per person). 2) Very much a family orientated, great if you have kids but not if you want a quiet relaxing weekend away with your significant other!

We stayed in the one bedroom apartment and were not impressed with the cleanliness of the place at all. The size of the rooms was great and the facilities provided were adequate, however, the bathroom in particular could have been a lot cleaner. Will not be going back.

I stayed in the clarion hotel apartments, and thought they were great value and better than just staying in a hotel room. The bed room was finished like a hotel room but havin a living area and small kitchen was much more comfortable for spending time relaxing. The kitching was limited, with only a microwave to cook with, but it did have a fridge and dining table area. Only disappontment with hotel was the price of resturant food and taxi's into town were too expensive. Overall the apartment was great, good value and i preffered it more than just having a hotel room.

The hotel seemed to cater well for chidren as well as adults- kids clubs etc. although we didn't avail of them its nice to know whats available. The pool was lovely and well looked after by life guards. Food was available till 930pm which suited us as we didn't get back to the hotel till late evening. Staff were very freindly and helpfull.

EL presonal de recepcion nada amable. Pasillos olian mal. Baños anticuados con cortina de ducha, dando sensacion de no mucha limpieza. Hay hoteles en Iralnda por ese precio mucho mejores. No se lo recomiendo a nadie

Nous avons très bien dormi - grande chambre avec plafond très haut - prix très abordable pour un 4 étoiles - restaurant sur place très apprécié car un peu éloigné de la ville - Coup d'oeil extérieur grandiose, malheureusement la cachet intérieur est trop moderne -

Une belle grande chambre bien équipée, confortable et propre, personnel aimable, une piscine, restaurants ... Points négatifs : la vue de notre chambre et le prix des petits déjeuners...

el hotel esta muy bien es grande y las habitaciones son muy grandes y bien equipadas pero la nevera no enfriava avisemos para q vinieran a verla pero no aparecio nadie en todo el fin de semana y la recepcionista no era demasiado simpatica pero bueno por lo genral todo bien volveria a ir si se presenta que a lo mejor se da el caso hemos quedado bastante satisfechos y nos a salido bien de precio

Si, in effetti mi aspettavo di più. Il castello era un'ottima location, ma la struttura all'interno è anonima e molto dispersiva, si corre il rischio di perdere molto tempo per trovare la propria stanza lungo i suoi interminabili corridoi. Manca il WIFI per internet e la struttura è in una periferia della città scarsamente provvista di servizi. Va bene x un giorno, molto meno x trascorrervi un Week end.
