Butterfly on Hollywood - هونج كونج

The only complain is the bathroom. Toilet bowl too low even for an average person like me (1.65M). It's quite noisy taking a shower when the water hit on the glass partition.Otherwise it is perfect place to stay.

The ventilation is the room was unacceptably noisy. The price does not match the quality.

I loved this hotel! it is all you need when traveling. Rooms are small compact, fresh and adequate. Staff friendly and efficient. Butterfly's and hug me pillows a lovely quirky touch. Value for money in an expensive city.

I have stayed at a couple of other Butterfly Hotels in Hong Kong and I have always enjoyed them. This butterfly stands out for me because of the helpful staff, Raymond in particular. Also the neighborhood the hotel is in, while a short walk to the Shuang Wan subway station is quiet at night and also near many good restaurants. I found the room I had was large for HKG standards.

Very inexpensive boutique hotel for Hong Kong standards, but you get what you pay for. This tiny hotel is cozy and in a good Sheung Wan location, which is an up and coming district loaded with antique shops & cool restaurants & bars. Walking distance of the metro & Central areas. Hotel itself is clean and undergoing renovations. Staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and help us around. Room was tiny but comfortable, with a great view. Few amenities - no ice machine, bar, restaurant, room service, etc. Room has coffee maker & hair dryer & free internet. For $100 US you can't beat it, and I'd stay here again for a couple of nights.

I was extremely impressed in so many ways with everything about this hotel. The front staff go out of their way to not only ensure your comfortability in the hotel, but also make sure you have the best experience in the city. They will help you get anywhere, or do anything you would like during your stay. The rooms are also very clean and quaint. Really enjoyed staying here and being near the fun, local soho.

GREAT STAFF, GOOD HOTEL, LIKE THE LOCATION

I was here on the first leg of my vacation for 3 nights. Initilally, I saw that the hotel was on top of a hill. It was a chore to walk up the hill daily. The hotel, it's self, was very nice. They went all out with the cheesy Hollywood theme, but was amusing non-the-less. The rooms were a bit small but clean and efficient, considering it was just a base of operation and a place to lay your head at night. It location was was very convenent: the Western market was only a few minutes walk, as was the electric trolly and the ferry terminals. The beds were firm but not rock hard like in the other hotels you will find in China. I did not have much contact with the staff, but the contact that I did have was very friendly. I speak some Mandrin, but the staff, actually the whole island, speaks English. Overall, I liked the hotel and would recomend it to anyone staying on HK Island.

Good location close to all amenities, walking distance to MTR and many many food stores. Not the smallest rooms in Hong Kong but close. Excellent staff, good clean tidy hotel room. Not a huge fan of having the vanity sink on the main table / desk.

The room is quite clean but the noise of the fan in the bathroom is really irritating. And this hotel doesn't have restaurant, so don't except room service if u are as lazy as me.

It surprised me how nice everyone from the hotel staff was. I'll definitely stay again. Just wish they serve breakfast.

A very quaint hotel in an interestingly nice neighbourhood. Efficient/friendly staff at check-in/out as otherwise you were left alone as u wonder in/out of the hotel lobby. Good experience.

This hotel was good value.. The red cushion on the bed was covered in small hairs and generally seemed like their had been a pet in the room, that was pretty gross. Once I moved that aside the room was fine.

Extremely small bedroom, walls were mouldy, bathroom had sliding glass door that couldn't close properly, no cups for coffee/tea (description of room mentioned coffee/tea maker, not kettle). Would not stay here again.

The staff are courteous and pleasant , the room was damp and moldy and very much needed a renovation

I recently stayed at Butterfly on Hollywood and LOVED it. The staff were super helpful and always friendly and the location is great. It is about 5-10min walk to the MTR and close to many tourist attractions. There are also many excellent restaurants in the area. Highly recommend it! :)

I always get great service at this hotel. Andy is so helpful and professional I really enjoy seeing him when I stay there. I stay there every time I go to Hong Kong because the location is great, the service is amazing, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.Thank you Butterfly Hotel!

First, I must say, the staff at this hotel was amazing. Everyone (including maintenance and housekeeping) were extremely polite, and helpful. Unfortunately, this was not enough to get me to return. The hotel had some glaring issues with cleanliness. The grout and some tiles in my shower were heavily stained, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was a little lacking (definitely not a pig sty, but not the cleanest). The rooms were INCREDIBLY small. I would guess my room was smaller than 50 sqft. Although the bed was comfortable, it was very small. They also lacked any amenities, including a restaurant, fitness center, and business center. The neighborhood was alright, and I was able to walk to the more desirable areas, although it was a bit of a hike. I would recommend paying a little more to stay in a hotel with more amenities, in a more traveler friendly location.

SMALL, DIRTY, NO MINI BAR, POOR SERVICE, TERRIBLE NOISE FROM CONSTRUCTION, WORST SMELL EVER IN HALLWAYS/ROOMS, SLOWEST ELEVATORS IN MY TRAVELS

On arrival at the hotel, we were pleasantly greeted by their courteous staff and a lovely smell of fragrance in the lobby. However waiting for lifts would require more patience, given there are only 2 tiny lifts serving the entire building. The rooms are simple, also smaller than we had expected which is tad disappointing considering the price we had paid. Nevertheless HK hotels are not known to give value for money. So overall still a relatively satisfying experience.

The hotel is in a great location and the staff are efficient and friendly. Plus there's free wi-fi -- always a plus.

We ,moved here from another HK hotel for a couple of nights as we were not happy with previous hotel- the first time we've every done this! The staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. We liked the location and there are some really nice little eateries on the doorstep, it's also within walking distance to the main areas to visit and close to transport. The rooms were modern and well sized for HK, which like Paris and NY often has small rooms at high prices! The price was very reasonable for the hotel. The rooms were clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return here.

Rooms very small, very smelly and very outdated..would not even give 2 stars

I was lucky to find this hotel in the last minute via Hotels.com. The hotel is average but there was very very loud noise coming from the pipes in the room next door at past mid-night. The reception sent security to my room and they explained that "it's just sounds coming from the pipes and it would stop when the guest finish their shower." The experience is akin to finding a crockroach in a bowl of noodles and when you ask the waiter, he says, "oh, it's just a crockroach".

This hotel just changed hands & is now called the Butterfly. Bad start, no breakfast, no newspapers, no room make up. I have stayed here many times but this is the last. I hate the name, it sounds like a place of ill repute & the service is a disaster! I'll never stay here again.

Clean and comfortable. Everything worked, including good showers and comfortable beds. Ask for a non-smoking room if you don't like the smell of smoke. Fairly ordinary breakfast that cost extra so we bought breakfast at a nearby cafe. The cafe also had free wifi. We like the location because it was in a relatively quiet area and we happen to love browsing the antique and porcelain shops that are all along Hollywood Road. It is also quite close to a great range of good restaurants, within easy walking distance of mid-level escalator. Staff seemed helpful.

The Hotel is on Hollywod road, the Antique road. Short walk to the Macau ferry terminal and the piers for Star ferry and islands. Lot of great reastuarants and pubs in 10 min walk. Minus is that it is no Bar on the hotel and no pool as well.

very noisy, smallest rooms, on top of a steep hill, I have stayed many places in hong kong. DO NOT GO HERE TERRABLE.............

The rooms are small and functional, fine for a business trip where I did little but sleep in the room. The TV didn't work all the time. The wifi didn't work and I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with their wifi provider who did try very hard to get things going, but ultimately failed.

This is a decent hotel at a good rate, one of the best deals one can find on the hong kong island. You can find everyday needs - grocery stores, drug stores, banks, bars and restaurants within the local proximity. A very quick taxi ride if you're hanging out in LKF or shopping / working in IFC roughly 30 honkie I'd say. Also a very short ride to/from the Macau ferry terminal adds another plus. Never took the subway. Rooms are clean but small, service is good, staff speak English. Worth paying the extra buck to stay in one of the executive floors which I'd say are standard.

The central park hotel has resonable price, convenience location, nearby cozy cafe+restaurant)(java java, gourmet burger union, cafe 208 etc). of course room is small, but i think very similar NY's petit hotel like a 'pod hotel'.

The Central Park Hotel has very small rooms, but they were clean and neat. We found the staff to be very helpful and English speaking. The maid left us fresh fruit which was a treat! We loved the location!

This hotel is not suitable for a business trip. The bathroom is tiny, the sink is in the bedroom. The shower constantly goes from hot to cold to hot... The desk is about the width of a laptop. They charge for internet access and charge for buffet breakfast. There are much better hotels in Hong Kong for the price.
