Silka West Kowloon Hotel - كولو

Nice hotel, small rooms, but very clean, poor breakfast. Rather good location, 15 minutes to Monkok subway station, 10 minutes to Olympic subway station. I would say that for this location and room size it is overpriced.

It was such an exciting experience to be staying at Silka. The hotel staff are very courteous and accommodating. The hotel is accessible to the Ladies Market, The Flower Market, Mongkok Road, etc.

this is the best 3-star hotel with great service. I will recommend it to others and I will also come back to stay again for my next trip. I will give it a 3.5-star rating for this hotel.

Hotel is ok. But if you will be rushing to the airport upon checkout, checkout early. There was no line in checkout but took around 15 to 20 minutes to checkout. For key deposit, try using cash yo facilitate checkout.

You are very close to shopping in Wong Kok but that means you have to walk for 15mins to get the subway. Tiny room but that is anywhere in Hong Kong for that price. You may need to ask for more pillows but they are more than willing to give you more pillows if you ask them.

Place is average mediocre place. rooms are extremely small. If your from the U.S, I do not recommend staying there.

If you are out for some shopping rounds in HK, yet do not want to spend a fortune in hotel, here is the place! This hotel is fairly conveniently located for shopping trips in Won Kok. The service is quite OK, too, with friendly and helpful people working there.

Loaction close to Mong Kok is ok. Rooms are as small as anywhere in HK at this price range which would be acceptable. Feeling of beeing in a mainland China Hotel. Floors are disgusting dirty, bed was clean. Terrible noisy AC. Access to internet isn't included in the rate. 1 hour 30 HK$ - a rip off. No breakfast included as well.

A very small but comfortable room. The carpet filthy and need to be cleaned or replaced - my only complaint. Small but modern and clean bathroom (only shower) and a big window with lots of light. As hotel prices go and what one pays at the Dorsett, I would highly recommend this as excellent value for the budget traveller. The sheets and towels are excellent quality and I had to request them NOT to change it on a daily basis. The amenities in the room is like a five-star establishment. I would say that, before anyone complaints or critisizes, they should investigate hotels in similar budget!!!! Compare apples with apples and there simply is no comparison. Location is about 10 mins. walk from Langham Place and Nathan Rd. Mong Kok area. Hotel shuttle available every hour. Surrounded by small industries in side roads but you walk briskly past these - can also learn about daily life in HK. For the value, highly recommended.

The bed was too short (5'3"). The bathroom was flooded everytime we were taking a shower. It was a non-smoking room, however the room, the sheets and the towels smell like smoke. The reception refused to give us a second key card for the room even though we we were two persons to check-in. This is not the quality I expect from a three stars hotel, this is not even worth a one star hotel! We pay quite a lot of money and it was really not worth it!

It is what is for the price. The only major issue is the location. There are other more centrally located places, but you are close to Olympic.

spacious enough but not far removed from the action part of Kowloon. Good choice, good value.

Easy to find food for 24 hours under critical HOng Kobg food

Small compact room but clean and bright. And quiet too. Another plus point is the firm bed that I like.

Hotel location is close to Olympic station from which you can get around most of Hong Kong. Olympic centre is close by with shops and restaurants aplenty. Takes 30 min to get in to Hong Kong island. Hotel beds are hard and not suited for persons above 180. Staff is very helpful and overall it was a ok stay.

The hotel offers a good price for a comfortable room with good service. The bed was a little short, but otherwise the room was good. The hotel itself is out of the way. The closest metro is Olympic, not super convenient. It is not always easy to get a taxi in the neighbourhood. There are not a lot of restaurants or stores nearby. It is a few blocks from Mongkok, so I ended up just walking down there most of the time.

I booked this hotel based mainly on previews reviews. I found the hotel to have really really small rooms. I have stayed in 3 other hotels in HK, and this was the smallest. I was not aware that internet had an extra charge of HK$50 an hour. For that money I had to pay extra I might as well stayed at a better hotel that included it. The desk was right next to the bed and had no chair, so you had to sit on your bed if you wanted to type on the desk. The neighborhood is generally dingy, and its not close to a MTR station.

This hotel is an excellent value for the budget traveler or someone looking for a place to shower and sleep. The staff was friendly and fluent in English. The room was small as most are in Hong Kong but our room was clean and cozy. You do have to take a 10 minute walk to the MTR. This was our 5th trip to Hong Kong and this hotel was as nice as any we have ever stayed in and we will definitely stay there in the future.

The main problem with this hotel is that the bed was so hard we could not possibly sleep on such hard a matress. Very bad after a long flight from Canada The room was so small we could hardly move in it. The staff told us that all rooms in the hotel had such a hard matress. They found some small soft matresses to put over ours or we could not have possibly slept there.

The rooms are quite small, about 3m by 4m including the bathroom. The carpet had a lot of stains on it, but otherwise the room was clean. It is not very convenient, as it is about a 12-15 minute walk from either the Olympic or Mongkok MTR stations. Catching a taxi is not too difficult, however. The beds are hard by western standards, but fine for me. The shower is small, walk-in (which I prefer), and the hot water and flow are good. There is no heat in the room, so on a cold day in January (when I was there), you need to get a space heater. If you get it for a good price, then it is OK for a stay, but be aware of the location.

The hotel is located 5 mins walk to nearest MTR and 10-15mins walk to ladies' street. The counter is friendly which I appreciate. As for the room, it is very small. The bed is not long enough as I am 1.85m. The toilet is so small that only 1 person can go in at one time. Funny thing is the washing basin is so big that whenever I stand up after using the toilet bowl, I had to be careful not to knock my head. The shower area is so small that I cant stretch my hand forward. There is a lay of dust on top of the safe box and around it. The neighbour is very typical hongkong style with those dirty shops around it. There is contruction work around it and I had to walk carefully. As there is no traffic lights around the hotel, I also got to walk carefully as Hongkong drivers are dangerous. But one good thing is the staff are quite friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They can speak english.

The rooms are very, very small. If you're taller than 5'8 you're feet will hang off the bed. The room was clean and the staff was nice.

The Hotel is good.

the room was very small, but everything was there... coffee maker, safe, flat screen tv, but not enough english channel, we were satisfied and recommend to you. small room & small price. have shopping and restaurant in the hotel and close by

Room is clean and cozy. Small toilet as expected, good for no frills travelers. Walkable distance to Langham place area. Shuttle bus leaves the hotel to Mongkok Pioneer Centre on hourly basis, be sure to catch the bus at least 5 mins before departure time. Get your mineral water from convenience store nearby, the vending machine in the lobby extremely overcharges.

This hotel is located in the penninsula side of Hong Kong and because it is not in the area of Lan Kwai Fong, it is inexpensive and has more spacious rooms. Because of the British influence, hotels tend to be boutique hotels and rooms are very small. This hotel was very clean, the service was amazing, and it was very close to the shopping areas of Hong Kong, specifically the well known Nathan Road.

The rooms were small but clean and new. The location is of walking distance (aprox 15 mins) to the shopping area, mong kok.

We were on a budget but decided to stay in the hotel for our first couple of days to get our bearings in hong kong. Staff were extreamly helpful and allowed us to check in early and were very helpful, ie letting us leave our luggage whilst we looked around for other accomadation. Rooms were very clean and quiet, and quite large by hong kong standards

For the price, the hotel room was clean and adequate, no LCD tv, bathroom very small but clean, which is important. This is a good hotel as long as you don't mind being a little away from everything. The hotel was kind of hard to find for me. Though I speak cantonese, I'm not familiar with Hong Kong at all. The neighborhood didn't seem to be the greatest, If you use the hotel shuttle, it's not so bad, othewise, it's a walk from the train and not easy to find the first time. Overall, for the price, I would stay again if rooms were not available else where. I stayed at the Newton once, and this is sooo much better.

Convenient (walking distance) to Mong Kok area and not far from MTR lines for easy access to the rest of Hong Kong. Rooms are relatively small (two twin beds in the deluxe rooms), but comfortable. Inexpensive if booked through hotels.com, but cost is about double that if you have to book from the hotel directly, such as if you need a date not available on hotels.com. So, my advice is to book early, if possible. Hotel is not on the center of the tourist areas, but is a very good deal if you know Hong Kong a bit and are comfortable getting around.

If you are looking to stay at a nice hotel that is not located in the central "tourist" districts, then this hotel is for you. Great location to trains, shopping and local markets. The only problems are your hotel room is very small and the bed is hard.

Dont have much negative to say about the hotel. Friendly staff, nice rooms and fair price. The location is a little "off" but taxi's are easy to find and fairly cheap. I think there might be busses too but only stayed for 1 day so didnt bother finding it

For a budget hotel which in my opinion is a 3 star hotel the Dorsett Kowloon is a good and comfortable hotel. I got a very good deal on the rate in September thru Hotels.com so therfore it was real good value. The location is Tai Kok Tsui which is north west kowloon. The hotel is very close to the bustling Mong Kok area and in between 2 mtr stations; Olympic and Mong Kok mtr. The first is 8 mins walk away while the 2nd is 10/12 mins away. This hotel is also reachable by the Airport cityflyer airbus route A21 stop number 6. The hotel I have been told is about 8 years old so it is fairly modern and bright. The front desk staff were helpfull but generally keep to themselfs, however do help and assist when approached. The room I was given was clean and comfortable. The only drawbacks which some would have concern over; the rooms are quite small compared to western/other chain hotels and the bed was a bit hard. But they say a hard matress is actually good for your back. The bathroom is also small but it is useable. Overall the hotel and room was kept clean and was very comfortable for my 4 night stay. They also provide a free shuttle mini bus service every hour to a nearby shopping centre, the other Dorsett hotel and kowloon mtr/airport express station. they even let you leave your cases with them once you check out to pick up later on that evening if required. I would stay again especially given the room rate I paid.

A great value for money hotel if your only goal is to use it as a place to crash after a long day of adventures. Seem to remember other reviews saying the rooms were tiny, but having grown up in HK I felt my room quite adequate given the price I was paying! It was enough for a single traveler. Bathroom facilities were clean and modern, though the shower stall might be a bit tight for taller individuals; I'm only 5'3" so it was just alright. Rooms were kept clean and was pleased with the front desk service. The free shuttle between the Dorsett line of hotels and Kowloon station was great if you didn't just miss it or weren't in a hurry; otherwise take a taxi (from Kowloon station it cost me HKD49 including 2 suitcases in the boot/trunk.) FYI: the shuttle drops off and picks up from the main entrance to the station. Go upstairs and follow the signs for the 'in-town check-in' upon arrival via Airport Express. It arrives at Kowloon station every hour at approx. 40 mins past the hour.

We walked from Monk Kok station, but the hotel runs a bus service throughout the day, which goes to the airport station too so that's good. Lovely and clean. Good air con & bathroom. Breakfast not included but on site - usual stuff. Bank of China nearby. Staff confirmed our onward flights. Would recommend, but may be too far out for some although we walked up from Star Ferry thru the night markets.

It is a very nice little hotel with very helpful staff and very comfortable rooms. I stayed here for a week...the prices were very cheap and I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap but clean and comfortable

Not in the greatest of areas and NOT really in Kowloon its in Olympic the room was small but pleasant clean an the staff were very friendly I would recommend this hotel, the Olympic train station is a short walk away as is the shopping district that all the tourists flock to.

I stayed at this hotel with my sister for a week and had no problems. The hotel was close to the station and the staff was helpful and friendly. They let us borrow their scale for weighing our luggage and answered all our queries. I especially loved the free shuttle bus service for when we needed to get to Mong Kok to shop! The only minor down side was that the room had hardly any place to walk so you must be tidy and organised when you bring back all your shopping. It can become a mess very quickly! Its very clean and cosy so its nice for short term stay. We're not fussy and only needed a place to sleep over. The laundry service seems to be expensive so long term stay might be a problem. We didn't use the hotel's cafe so I can't comment on that. I'd definately recommend it to a friend for short term stay because of the price and if they're not too fussy about the space. Its not fancy with gyms and spas but we didn't need those things and it suited us very well.

몽콕지역에 있었는데 걸어서 몽콕역이나 올림픽역에 도착할 수 있어서 교통은 비교적 편리하였습니다. 주변 지역도 나름 괜찮았어요. 여러 시장도 둘러볼 수 있어서 홍콩사람들의 사는 모습을 볼 수 있었습니다. 방은 정말 작아서 침대 이외에는 공간이 거의 나오지 않았지만 어차피 하루 묵을 예정이었고 잠만 자는 공간이어서 그다지 불편한 것은 없었습니다. 땅값 비싸기로 소문난 홍콩에서 이 정도 가격대이면 메리트가 있는 것 같아요. MTR이라고 지하철 접근성이 비교적 용이하여 여행에는 큰 불편이 없어요. 몽콕지하철역에 큰 쇼핑센터가 있어서 식사도 가능하고 쇼핑도 할 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 방의 청결상태는 양호했습니다.
