It was one of the best hotel I have ever stayed. :)

I stayed for one night as I was passing through. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We asked to be placed on the quiet side of the building, no issues at all. Staff was nice and helpful. I was able to book an airport shuttle for $15 (bonus). There was good wifi connection and it was free. This Motor Inn was walking distance from a lot of the sights and transportation.

A very good stay for one night and may be more. Just a little bit noisy on Lombard Street which is not the hotel problem.

Me and my friend stayed in this hotel for two nights, the locations is great, very close to Main tourist atractions! For the money we spent on this place it is really worth it! Would stay again absolutely!

First night was not very good because our room was located in front next to the highway. The noise kept us up all night. We requested our room be changed for our second night. Staff was very nice and quickly changed our room. The next night was wonderful. Both rooms were very clean and appeared to have been recently renovated.Ten minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf.

Good location. Front desk clerk was very nice, room was clean. the only downfall was it was hard to sleep. The rooms with balconies were near the street..made it hard to sleep. Would stay here again, but away from the busy street!

Old and smelly hotel

This hotel was convenient to our stay, but incredibly noisy on Friday night with a lot of traffic outside. The room was a combination of updated and old fashioned features; a very comfortable bed, and a 20 year old hair dryer. The free parking was a real draw, but we will probably not stay here next year.

Small hotel newly remodeled, 40" flat screen in room. Close to restuarants. Great deal for $100/nite. I would stay there again when I go back to S.F.

Totally enjoyed the location, the people and the comfortable bed! Though we were on the "noisy" street side, it wasn't a problem through the night. Parking was free which is astounding in itself. We went, mistakenly to the Hotel next door when we arrived. It had the same location but the parking was $26 a day !!! That in itself was something! One little Cafe across the street served a delicious breakfast. Couldn't have asked for a better place, especially in "downtown" San Francisco. Thanks!!

Lombard Motor Inn is located as close to Pier 39 as you can get without spending hundreds of dollars per night for a hotel. It's only about five blocks from P39. If you're not up to walking, there are plenty of public transportation options, and with the amount of money saved by staying there you can afford to drive to the pier and pay for parking. As for the hotel, it was fantastic. No, it's not a fancy destination spot unto itself. There is no pool, workout room, restaurant, etc. There is, however, plenty of free parking (an absolute plus in SF) securely located in their own garage, an exceptionally clean room with nice furnishings, private balconies, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept it. My only complaint was the road noise. The hotel (like all hotels on Lombard) is located right along the street and consequently, the room was pretty noisy from early evening until around 11:00 pm. The neighborhood seemed pretty safe. There are lots of people walking, biking, jogging, etc... There is a convenience store next door to the hotel and a number of eateries across the street and within walking distance. I will definitely stay at the Lombard Motor Inn again.

I've stayed all around San Francisco and this will be my new hotel to stay in. Great value, clean, parking included, friendly, awesome location!

I found this hotel to have a great location, however there aren't many stores/restaurants etc nearby except for some very expensive convenience stores. The room that we were put in had no view at all and looked out to another building, unsure if this was as we had pre booked. There is free parking which is a plus however it is very tight to get out of. The rooms were spotless and very large and nice to stay in. Besides the minor issues I enjoyed this hotel.

It was very nice and the people working there were very accomodating. I will be staying there the next time I go to San Francisco

Room was beautiful and spacious. Front desk was extremely helpful when we needed a walk in clinic. Quaint cafe was recommended for breakfast, great place.

Lombard Motor Inn exceeded my expectations. I was looking for clean, safe, and inexpensive. Nothing fancy, just a place to stay. It was that. But additionally, the memory foam bed was extremely comfortable. And the location was extremely convenient. An easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf, a couple of blocks from "Crooked Street", and several bus lines within a block. There have been comments about noise. I was in one of the rooms at the back of the building and it was quiet enough -- an occasional siren from the street or sounds from the hall, but not bad. There was zero view from the window (looked at another wall), but I'm not there to hang out in the room. The only minor issues -- water pressure was really low (maybe that's an SF conservation thing) and the elevator seemed a little flaky. It worked, it just seemed to get confused. It would stop and pick up passengers on the way up that wanted to go down. I would stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered my room had a balcony with a view of the Golden Gate bridge. You can't beat this place for the value. Its clean, nice rooms, and a pretty good location (less than s mile walk to the heart of the wharf)

Stayed at the Lombard Motor Inn during the weekend of the 2013 Rock-n-Roll 1/2 Marathon. The hotel is older, but was clean with comfortable, memory foam topped beds. The location was perfect for walking to a number of establishments for food and drink as well as the start/finish for the event. My only recommendation is to take ear plugs unless you are used to the sounds of traffic, otherwise you may be awoken during the night to sirens and burnouts. Overall, a good choice.

Great deal for price and location. Clean room and nice people.We asked for a quiet room and they gave us a room with views of the wall of the adjacent building and right next to the ice machine, which made noise all night.....

This hotel is very clean, good-sized rooms, FREE parking, convenient location. The street is a main avenue and very loud; however, earplugs solved the problem of traffic noise at night. We had a room on the street side, which is much better than risking the back side of the hotel, where many of the rooms face a wall. We were on the third floor and the view was really nice. The staff were extremely accommodating. For the price this is a real find.

very clean spacious rooms very clean and modern very friendly and helpful staff needed to arrange an additional night at the last second and they were very efficient in doing this for me. was worried about the noise being it was located on such a busy road but did not notice enough to be disturbing LOOKING FORWARD TO MY NEXT VISIT TO S F AND THE LOMBARD INN

Only a block and a half away from our hop on hop off tour stop and a few blocks away from the Wharf. Good price, free parking, clean room, great stay. I'd stay there again.

The hotel was definitely nothing fancy but a good, safe location and extremely well-priced. Also Free parking and that is everything when you're in the city!

Nice hotel with adequate space, however busy street outside window was noisy. Free parking was a definate plus. Next time would stay on other side away from traffic noise. Had a nice balcony with view of cafe across the street.

My stay was great, but the parking was frustrating and there was no continental breakfast. Location was great and staff was nice.

Was great, convenient to both Pier 39 and Palace of fine arts my two destinations. Off street free covered monitored parking great bed good pillows and a good rate for the city.Felt comfortable walking everywhere with the wife in this neighborhood.

Nice new clean very friendly

I enjoyed staying at the Lombard Inn. Typically, I stay at chains because of bug issues at Inns and other B&B type hotels but was pleasantly surprised by the reviews and I was walking distance to the Wharf, Civic Center and a few other must see attractions. Overall, hotel room furnishings were old fashioned, but that went well with the look of the room. The TV was flat screen and very nice, the only thing that did not match, but was pleased to not have a huge TV hanging over the dresser lol

hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, location was good, walking distance to the marina and fishermans wharf. rooms were clean and tidy ,beds very comfortable and maids cleaned room and fresh towels every day. overall was very happy with our stay at this hotel and would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who wants a reasonable priced hotel.

With a student at USF and family in the area, I've travelled to the city by car 12x per year for several years and only just now tried this hotel. So much better than many other options with free parking! The beds are comfortable (maybe memory foam?) the pillows are in good condition and varied in firmness, the towels are a better quality than most "motor inns" and the parking was ample on a weekend...no cars left to fend for themselves or double park even late at night!

Really enjoyed the stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the Wharf. Price was great. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was very clean and the bed comfortable .. the only downfall would be the traffic noise from Lombard street.. so if possible try to get a room away from the street ..

Lombard Motor Inn is well placed. Close to Fishermans warf, World's windingest street is part of same street as the Inn. Bit of an up hill walk to get there but worth it. There one can also catch a cable car to City and Union Square. So overall quite a good accomidation choice.

Overall great experience, bed was awesome, staff was friendly, located very close to public transport and/or $5 taxi ride to Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Russian Hill. various eateries, corner store, and Safeway supermarket within walking distance. hallway smelled a little funny (like your grandma's house after she quit smoking and tried to get out the odor with some household chemical), but the room was super clean, tidy, and smelled great.

I'm surprised this hotel is not rated much higher. It's perfectly located, clean, comfortable beds, helpful staff, feela safe & is very quiet. Free parking & internet as a bonus. The price is right & I will definitely stay there again on future business trips to SF. This hotel comes highly recommended.

Easy to get to, free covered parking monitored by cameras and warning bells. Could not believe this. On Lombard close to the Crooked street. 2 minutes away by car. 10 minutes from the Pier. Really quiet. The mattress was out of this world. Slept like a rock. Price was very reasonable. Drove by others with simailar prices and this was far and away better. Staff was very helpful. We could hit the Golden Gate Bridge in minutes. Fort Mason and below the bridge by the bay was also easy to get to and very scenic.. Lombard takes you right onto the Bridge. Went to Sausalito to take pictures on bridge and in town in minutes. Will do it again for an overnighter.
