Outstanding service.The staff where extremely friendly and very helpful.Excellent location and a beautiful hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is the first time I have used Hotels.com and quite frankly, I am not impressed. Hotel Patio Anduluz ten years ago was probably the gem of Old Quito, but no more! Other buildings have been renovated and beautiful hotels are now located in the old city. We were promised a King Bed, received two doubles; we were promised air conditioning, the room had a ceiling fan and it was miserable; we were promised internet service -- wireless did not work in our room--too remote. The room was substandard, window into a hallway inside courtyard, up some slippery stairs, and our room and another one similar were pawned off to my husband and me and a lovely English lady paying a single supplement for a luxury tour of the Galapagos. This hotel and others in Quito will soon not have the benefit of Galapagos travelers staying one night enroute to the islands. In late February 2013, the Quito Airport in the city was closed and the new one is 35 miles away -- it takes 75 to 90 minutes in normal traffic! Soon there will be hotels out by the airport which will be new and cater to this clientele. If one really wants to visit Quito, Hotel Patio Andaluz is a moderate quality, non-chain hotel that is acceptable.

Super service, and very god breakfast.

Our group had 4 rooms and we all LOVED this hotel for our 3 night stay. It is well taken care of and exudes South American charm. The staff was very helpful and found us a great guide named Luis to take us on a full day tour. I hightly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Great hotel in a not so great city. Historic Quito has some beautiful buildings and winding streets, but it's not the most inviting city to wander around and has few cafes, etc. Patio Andaluz is centrally located and makes it easy to explore - and comfortable not to if you're just passing through. As an added benefit, the hotel restaurant in the inner courtyard is delicious (with lots of locals eating too).

I was here on a business trip and I like to stay in boutique hotels near local nightlife and historical centers. The hotel's location was perfect, the ambiance was right in line with it's surroundings. The restaurant in the hotel was a great dining experience and food was good. It seemed the more I explored the hotel, the more I found great little spots to sit and get through some work. The wifi throughout the hotel was great! TIP: There is a small little terrace at the highest point of the hotel, if you can find the spiral stair case you are there.

Very pleasant stay, central location in the old town. Very pleasant, helpful staff. Bar are is tired, not good for mixing or meeting fellow travellers

The room was a little weird, two floors. We never used the seating area upstairs. Going up the wooden stairs to the bath was tricky at night. Charming location. This room must have been in an non-renovated area of the hotel.

Hotel was excellent. We didn't have a great experience with a tour operator the hotel organised but the hotel itself was excellent.

Wonderful staff and service. We arrived one day earlier than our scheduled reservations in Quito-- after a long trip from the Amazon (Oriente province) in Ecuador -- and the staff made immediate arrangements to provide a comfortable room swiftly and at a reasonable price for our unanticipated arrival. Wonderful restaurant w/delicious food!

If you are ok with some degree of quirkyness this is a great place to stay. Not your typical ultramodern chain.

The hotel is an an historic, beautifully restored building in the center of the historic part of Quito. It is located within blocks of many of the "must-see" sites of historic Quito. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable, but a bit dark because of its location in the building. The public areas had comfortable seating for relaxing and reading. Tapas on luncheon menu were excellent, but breakfast (not included in our rate) was ordinary.

This hotel was perfect for our needs. The staff was so courteous, friendly and helpful whenever possible. The building itself was beautifully decorated in the Colonial style and very clean and tastefully decorated and comfortable with many little sitting areas where we could and did have coffee or tea any time of the day instead of being in our room. The location itself could not have been more perfect, right in the historic area with most of the must see sights within a short walk.

Great for those folks that wld like the experience of staying in an "Old Grand House" in quto w all modern comforts. Pretty neat.

My boyfriend and I have travelled to all of the continents except Antarctica. We both agreed that this is the single most friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel has loads of character, is in a great location (Old Town) and the two story rooms are an added attraction. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. The only thing that could be slightly improved was the service in the bar. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone either as a business traveller or a tourist.

Unique and cozy hotel, with lots of charm and character. One issue with the hotel was that we were awakened by the strong scent of polish applied to the wood floors in the hallway late at night, which was a bit uncomfortable, hopefully this is not a nightly thing!

Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We loved the location and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The feeling of the hotel, with it's charming restaurant (great food) and lovely atrium courtyard is warm and inviting. Although the rooms may need a little updating...the benefits far surpass this and I would highly recommend Hotel Patio Andaluz to my friends.

This was my first trip to Quito and after reading the many warnings about personal safety in oldtown I was a bit concerned about staying there. After visiting I can say that oldtown is not as scary as I expected, although you must still be vigilant. And, the Hotel Patio Andaluz was the right choice - an excellent one, even. It is located on the main street (but just one lane, and one way) leading to the big plaza and the Presidential Palace, both a block away. From the moment you step inside all is quiet, clean, well-lighted, friendly and sort of perfect. Very helpful staff, too. It is much larger than I was expecting from the photos and descriptions. There is a lower level where the cave bar and interior garden are located, and two upper levels for guest rooms. All enjoy sunlight from the atrium ceilings. I thought the restaurant food was pretty good, too, if a bit pricey. (I did not buy the daily breakfast buffet for $10 but I wasn't missing much from what I saw. There are nearby bakeries where I bought my breakfast items instead.) BTW, my laptop plugged right into the wall socket and the wifi worked great. I would stay here again. Daniel H, Los Angeles.

I loved this hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer. It had a lovely courtyard. Next time in Quito it will be my destination hotel.

This hotel is in an excellent position in the old town, ideal for exploring the historic district on foot. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Our only problem was that the room arrangement was sitting area on one level and curved stairway to mezzanine bedroom area. The floors of both rooms and the stairway were highly polished wood which, although lovely to look at, were quite tricky and dangerous to walk on.

The hotel was conveniently located near the main square. There is a doorman to greet you and the front desk person was always professional and helpful. We were never able to use the wireless in our room but it did work in the common areas. The staff spoke adequate english. It would be nice if there were more english language tv channels. Our room #209 was charming and comfortable. It was nicely decorated but the polished wooden floors and stairs were almost dangerous.

This is a fine little boutique hotel, well appointed, terrific location near the main square, churches, museums etc. The only thing that prevents me from giving the highest recommendation is an error by hotel management. They have the front desk staff doing data entry and billing at all times. This results in a less than attentive response when a guest has a need or request. It is almost as if asking them to make a reservation and confirm it is an unwanted distraction from the task they were given by management. They should have back office people doing the clerical stuff and front desk people only looking after guest needs. All others (doormen, bell hops, waiters, maids, etc. were gracious and warm, welcoming and helpful but not the front desk people.

Well located for all of the sites and activities of the Old Town. A plus in Quito is that many are accessible without too many hills. The hotel is first world with a fine dining room and well appointed, comfortable rooms. We booked a suite because the price differential on the weekend was minimal. It consisted of a large sitting area on one level with a circular stair to the sleeping loft and bath (with tub). Not recommended if stairs are an issue. The hotel appears to cater to those arriving in Quito and heading out to the Galapagos or other excursions. Skipping Quito is a mistake. The colonial architiecture, churches and general ambiance are worth at least a full day. If you can arrange to be in Quito on Sunday, the streets of Old Town are closed to traffic and there are concerts and other activites in the many squares. you will be surrounded by Ecuadorian families adding to the experience. There are many local eateries that are much cheaper than the hotel dining room for an authentic taste of Ecuador.

Quito har Sydamerikas största sammanhängande " Centro Historico" med utsökt kolonial arkitektur och under mina 6 dagar i Quito kunde jag bara se ett lite modernt hus i området. Hotel Patio Andaluz ligger 2 kvarter från presidentpalatset där det är vaktavlösning måndagar vid 12-tiden, absolut sevärt. Patio Andaluz ligger i ett flera hundra år gammalt privathus, modell större och har en tid varit danspalats, det berättade en bartender för oss.Huset har en verkligt genuin känsla av Ecuador I Quito och i receptionen på hotellet talas förvånansvärt bra engelska för att vara Sydamerika. Den bästa restaurangen vi besökte var Mea Culpa, mycket nära hotellet. Vi hade frågat i receptionen efter en riktigt bra restaurang men tyvärr hänvisade de till en där utsikten var det bästa. Runt om hotellet är många små läderverkstäder som säljer en riktigt snygg handsydd läderväska för 50 us-dollar eller ett par handgjorda läderskor för 30 us-dollar. Vi var och åt både på Hotel Plaza Grande och Hotel Gangotena som ligger inom gångavstånd, vackra och eleganta men förmedlade inte känslan av Sydamerika lika starkt.
