Room had everything we needed. Within walking distance to nearly everything. It was cold at the beach when we stayed. Had it been warmer, I would have been upset. 5ft deep pool had trash floating in it. Clean the pool guys, I might come back.

The Staff was pleasant and professional, The hotel is right on the strip, but the property is crawling with roaches.

The Travelodge is easy to miss between all the other towering structures. i had to make a U turn and approach it from another direction judt to see that it was a hotel. The description listed an ocean view in every room be it moderate or 'slight'. All i could see was the pool which was closed all day and the backside of the hotels with actual ocean vistas. The room itself was very clean and a good size for the price. The real convenience of Travelodge V.B. is that you are still 600ft from the beach and that being on Atlantic ave about halfway down the boardwalk you can get to virtually all the oceanside attractions. Hard to call it a palace but for the off season rates it is a great place to sleep if all you need in a room is a place to sleep.

My bf and I recently stayed two nights at the Travelodge in Virginia Beach because he was running a marathon there. We reserved a non-smoking room through hotels.com and were given a smoking room. This room smelled horrible, had a broken window in the bathroom that was taped up and had black mold spots on the comforter. Travelodge was unbelieveably rude and not helpful at all in changing our room and even lied to us saying the hotel was booked for both nights we were staying there. Obviously it was not when we saw half of the parking lot empty on the second day. Shame on you Travelodge for making us have a terrible stay and forcing us to write this review. I blame you for my bf's marathon time not being what he expected after having the stress of sleeping in an ash tray room and breathing in smoke.

I spent two nights at Travelodge Virginia Beach (pre & post Yuengling Shamrock Marathon). The staff were helpful and responded quickly. Due to rain I could not initially enter my room as the electronic card reader did not work. Within minutes the problem was solved. The young man at the front desk and the maintenance man were both very hepful. When I consider how cheap the accommodation was I must say that I was pleasantly surprised how clean and comfortable the apartment was. Be warned that the traffic noise is clearly audible and the fridge makes a lot of noise, so some may find sleeping problematic. Overall it was good value for money, a decent size room, free ice machine (good for tired marathoners!), clean, and comfortable in a safe location. I recommend it as long as noise is not too much of a problem for you.

For a a night, what do you expect? I think if our non-smoking room didn't REEK of smoke, it would have been tolerable. Even with the stains on the floor and bedspread and mold under the bathroom window. It was so musty and humid in there. A can of Fabreeze sprayed throughout helped a little. We were there visiting our daughter and her husband, so, honestly, we were only looking for a place to sleep and shower. I could have stuck it out, but when my husband surfed around on the internet and found another place right on the beach for a few dollars more a night, we decided to check out early and stay at the New Castle Motel, which by the way, I wish we would have found and stayed there right away.

We wanted an affordable place to stay that was close to the beach. The room was adequate for our needs. It was clean, shower was great, mini breakfast was free & helped to save $$. Room could use some cosmetic touches.

aircon didnt work, neither did TV also drunks banging on door at 3am scared girlfriend. Fine if all you want is beers and late nights not fine if you want anything else.

I"ve stayed at Travelodge for quite some time now and it appears to me that the longer I stayed the worst the rooms are. Don't get me wrong, the staff are very polite however, I was not impressed with the last two rooms I reserved.

It is worth what it costs. If your looking for just a place to stay and not alot of service or over the top stuff its perfect. My only complaint is that the beds were not the comfiest to sleep on after my stay me and my boyfriend's back were killing us. That and we had a little bit of a hot water issue but I would still recommend this hotel, because its cheap, clean, good location, and the people there are nice. I would more in likely stay again.

the room was very clean and front desk people very nice but the odor in thr room was awful. it smelled like cat urine and no matter how much air freshner we sprayed we could not get the smelll out.

I would pay a few extra dollars to stay somewhere else. There was a burn hole in the comforter, But I did not plan on spending much time in the room anyways so for what it's worth...it's whatever.

Great place to stay... it is not the most beautiful place but you can't go wrong for the price.

A classic motel by the beach. The room was clean, the towels small and thin, but effective. Soap and shampoo provided and the coffee and donuts in the lobby were acceptable. You'll get what you pay for.

I was disappointed, the room did not meet my expectation.There was a lot of yelling and cursing outside my door at 2 AM.

Not right on the beach but an easy walk to it. Hotel needs renovations bad and we had neighbors next to us arguing all night long on Christmas Eve. But it is a very cheap motel so you get what you pay for. If you aren't planning to spend any time other than sleeping in the room then it is worth the money.

The hotel is not right on the beach and it does not have an ocean view due to the big hotel sitting on the other side of the street. You can get to the beach by walking across the street. Although it was convienient to the stores and diners, I would not stay there again. It is very outdated and just looks dirty. The beds are not very comfortable either. The continental breakfast is a box of donuts and some coffee. You're better off going to the pancake station and having the buffet.

The location is great. The motel is a bit worn though. Perfectly fine and cheap. Didn't expect more.

Nice location, easy to find. The room was comfortable, but not very clean (the carpet was dirty and the bed spread was stained or had ironing burns on it) and definitely needed some updating. There is construction going on across the street, but you couldn't really hear it from the room. We requested a non-smoking room, and received it.. no problems. We arrived late and found the office door locked and no phone number posted anywhere on the building. After googling out their number, was able to find a customer service rep. that could come to the office to check us in.

I requested a non smoking room and was given a smoking room which i had to share with my 11 year old son and husband. I told the reservation clerk about my request, and nothing was done about the situation for the two nights i paid for

When visiting the front desk, I felt that each time, the employee had better things to do then help me. When my husband and I checked in, there was a hat hanging over our smoke detector and a towel packed under that. The smell from smoke was definitely still in the room. That being said, The price is good for the great location and if, like us, you plan on spending most of your time at the beach or local spots out of the room, then you'll enjoy it. If you plan on hanging around the room, I'd recommend something a little nicer.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The room was dirty, the staff was rude and because I was unaware at the time of making the non refundable reservation that pets were not accepted, I was either asked to pay an additional 50.00 or leave.

Overall, pleased with our trip. Great location for bars and food, no view but only a block away from ocean room was very clean and service was friendly.

We enjoyed the location of this hotel. We walked right across the road to get to the ocean. We also walked to most of the restaurants we had dinner at. Even though the hotel needs updated, I would return.

It was ok. The room was facing a tall building that was under construction and was very noisy. All street noises could be heard very easily through the small bathroom window. The bathroom was incredibly small with a very small window that did allow a lot of noise to come into the room. Kitchen area had no overhead light in it and looked out dated but appeared to be clean. Bed had a cigarette butt between the mattress and the wall at the head of the bed (also had some other misc. trash). Lamp was main light in room which was stretched very far and actually almost coming out of the socket in the wall. The complimentary breakfast did not have a lot of items available. It was a nice get-a-way from home but would have preferred a nicer view and a bit cleaner hotel room.

Lots of problems: neither of the 2 FULL size beds were level, bathroom above the door had what appeared to be black mold and was filthy(had to wash out the tub before use), phone didn't work, tv remote didnt work, Complimentary Continental Breakfast was store bought muffins and bagels, the club next door "rocked" till 2am and police were called 2 of the 3 nights stayed, cups under A/C to keep from dripping into the carpet, paid x amount a night for a roll out bed that didn't latch shut and only had 3 wheels. We asked for a "Ocean Front" and got this, very unhappy.

We arrived very late (or early in the a.m), The guy at the counter was nice to check in with. Rooms was musty and I felt like I was in an inner city place. Comforters had cigarette burns in them and bathroom blind was missing a few rows. I had requested a later check out since we were getting in so late. When I booked I was told the request would be made and normally they allow them since it wasn't a holiday. When I called to confirm our reservation and to see about the later check out, I was told if I wanted to stay past 11 it would be $10 an hour. Not what I was expecting!! Try getting a room someplace else first. I would use this as a last resort.

This hotel was in a great location and the staff was very friendly. Not very updated but still for the price it's a good deal.

centrally located, room very comfortable and quiet, staff was excellent, the dining room was terrific, couldn't be happier. would recommend to all..look forward to a return visit soon

Hi - this hotel is WORN out but right on the beach - every room is Ocean Front! They are little efficiency suites so every room has a separate bedroom and living room and the love seats pull out into beds. They also all have kitchenettes with microwaves. VERY comfortable in that regard and, despite its obvious age and wear and tear (like in the elevator), the rooms are VERY clean! It's a find if you're looking for an escape that's cheap and right on the ocean!

The Hotel was in a great location and service was great. The Hotel gave us an upgrade because the room that was requested was no longer availble for what ever reason. The upgrade was wonderful and my spouse had a great time.

Though it was relatively close to the beacg, the room was not very well maintained. The staff was excellent and so was the location. I also stayed at the La Quinta Inn that was located 10 miles from the beach the next day and tho it was not close to the beach, the room was in much better condtion and the breakfast was much much better.

Rooms require rennovation. Also, construction of the new building next to hotel made it too noisy early mornings. On positive, very close to the beach and affordable.

Location, price, comfort, and staff was amazing. The construction next door starting at 6:30 am, the military jets rumbling overhead every half hour from morning to night was a little much. The cabinet holding the fridge and tv was falling apart with it's door hanging and the bathroom door would not shut to even try to close it, but for the price and closeness to the beach, I'm not complaining. The friendly staff makes up for anything wrong in the hotel and surroundings. My kids and I will travel here again.

I lived staying here. Very convenient. Half block from beach. Very clean. Nothing was broken. And hotel staff are very nice.

Its not a bad hotel for the price, the room was fairly clean, the only bad part was night time we were right by the stairs people coming up the stairs rather loud. The only available outlet in the room was coming out of the wall looked un- safe. Breakfast is in the lobby which is a very small area you have to get your food cereal, danish etc and go back to your own room. Convenient right across from the beach.

ideal for a cheap getaway at the beach, staff very friendly and obliging, rooms spacious and comfortable, just a few blocks from everything, parked the car and walked everywhere as it is so well located. hotels.com did not get the booking details correct but this was quickly rectified at check-in. clean and inexpensive...coffee in lobby all day which was nice. would probably not stay in high season as it could get quite noisy with partyers....

Our room was very clean and had no odd smells. However they need to put new entry door on. Because it seemed paper thin, we heard car noises and people walking by all night long. I just thank goodness it wasn't prime vacation time or we wouldn't have slept. The beds were terrible, very hard but it is a motel so I didn't have high hopes. It did have a roomy fridge for drinks and snacks. Along with a microwave which has nice.

within very short walk to beach! the breakfast is limited but free. the room had fridge so ca bring food n drinks. not for people who like fancy. free parking is also nice. best value for $
