I stayed here with my mother and it was an extremely comfortable and pleasant experience. We had a quiet, spacious room, more like a mini-apartment, which had a huge bedroom, sitting room, entrance hallway and bathroom. It was very quiet - I'm very fussy about noise - so this is always an important feature for me and this was perfect. The hotel staff were lovely - some spoke better English/Russian than others but all were very willing to help and lovely. Well-located - it's right opposite the main Cathedral and we took a bus ride from the airport-bus stop right opposite hotel. The hotel is out of the way from the main night-life of Varna but if you want busy-ness and a choice of restaurants, the main pedestrianised street where all this exists is only a short walk away. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly to others.

We booked three rooms for our family. Two were OK but our's, on the 5th floor in the attic, was poor. There was noise from the seagulls on the roof and the air conditioning did not work. Despite a complaint, and request to change rooms, nothing was done. We did not stay in the room very much though. If we go again we would not accept a room on the 5th floor.

from the outside, the hotel can be deceitful: it occurpies about half of what looks like a century-old office buliding. there is no lobby on the entrance level. on the first floor is reception. rooms have an old-world charm and spacious living area. my room had magnificent views of assumption cathedral, the tower and the black sea. rail station is a 12-minute walk; bus station, a seven-minute bus ride; black sea a 10 minute walk. all else in the city is within walking distance. make certain to take the train at least one way from sofia to varna, as the route contains some of most spectacular mountain, river, and lake scenery in the balkans. the bus route is only boring highway. buses are very crowded and uncomfortable. prices are the same. make certain to get a first-class seat: it's only 4 dollars more than second class for a very long ride. (7-8 hours).

We would highly recommend this hotel, location is perfect and the rooms are very clean and high quality for the price. Our only problem was the first evening the AC did not work in our room-the night reception claimed it was a problem in the hotel but it clearly was n't. The top floor rooms arevery warm-fantastic view of cathedral-but sweltering. The next day they moved us straight away and upgraded us to an apartment with AC that was fantastic and did not charge us any more. The hotels.com rate was by far cheaper than the direct rate. Other reviews commented on the breakfast-it was not great-but to be honest it is typical Bulgarian-and that is what you have. We will definately stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Hotel Splendid lived up to its name. The rooms were spacious, and the location exceptional, with a view over the cathedral. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Valitsin hotellin arvostelujen perusteella. Hotelli vastasi odotuksiani. Kiva hotelli keskustassa kävelykadun päässä. Lyhyt matka kävellen keskustassa joka paikkaa ja myös rannalle. Aamiainen Bulgarialaisittain hyvä. Ainoa mitä kaipasin oli parveke. Asuimme huoniestossa, joten en tiedä onko niitä muissa huoneissa.

Vi havde læst nogle af tidligere gæsters oplevelser, gode som dårlige og var derfor meget spændte på hvad der ventede os. Hotellet og dets personale gjorde enhver kritik til skamme. Værelset var meget stort og særdeles komfortabelt. Rengøringen var perfekt og værelsets udstyr var flot. Morgenmadsbuffeten var righoldig og god. Vi vil ved enhver lejlighed hvor vi besøger Varna aldrig være i tvivl om hvor vi vil booke hotel. En meget stor anbefaling var et tilfreds ægtepar

Ein angenehmes Hotel, sowohl für Geschäftsreisende als auch für Touris. Zentral gelegen, sauber, freundlich. Allein der Frühstückskaffee erinnert an den ehemaligen antikapitalistischen Osten, aber auch das hat einen gewissen Charme. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

Ett mycket trevligt hotell mitt i staden, nära till sevärdheter och shopping.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Varna. Pleasant room (301) with Cathedral view. Only breakfast was frugal.
