The Vermonter Motor Lodge - بينينجتون

Please do not stay at this hotel!! Lady who owned it was so rude not at all friendly. Her poor teenage son took care of everything thank god for him. When we arrived our door would not open. Had to walk to front desk so someone could unlock top lock. Hotel room very old and musty bugs everywhere out side on room could not even open door without getting attacked. Our Tv did not work, no iron or board. Grounds were messy!!!! if you like coffee pot hold about one cup. RUDE RUDE STINKY PLace Do not stay here warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And breakfast is stale donuts warm coffee and stale cereal and you have to ask to have some RUDE!!!!!!! DO NOT STAY!!!!!

The reviews I read were a little harrowing, so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It's a motor lodge, not a 5-star hotel, so I'm not sure what others were expecting, but it offered everything my friend and I needed while staying in Bennington for a conference. We arrived very late (2 a.m.) and were very grateful that the owner waited up for us. It was clean, convenient and the views were lovely in the fall, nearing the peak of color.

the bad from room details. there was no working cable television service there was no working wireless internet access no microwave no refrigerator windows stuck door hard to open and close no hair dryer no iron or ironing board hot and cold water backwards exterior rundown and dirty parking lot rough septic hose laying in parking lot flower boxes falling off cabins

The first impression is a disaster. The grounds are in total disrepair. We found our room to be furnished with bed, chairs, TV, etc.that all looked like the 70's. Fortunately the room was clean. The place needs a lot of TLC, sorry we cannot recommend it.

Our room had a strong odor of smoke/must; scented candles, air-freshener, and open windows couldn't dispel it. The bedspreads were so worn that the designs were rubbed off the centers of the beds. The TV had a sign taped to it explaining that it didn't work. The door locks seemed like bathroom door locks, though the door opened onto the outdoors. Water pressure was good, but the shower fluctuated erratically between scalding and cold. The staff were pleasant and the continental breakfast was fine. But other small motels in the area are a little less worn at the edges.

So me and my friend booked the reservations online and drove in and we were getting worried when the 1 mile mark hit on the GPS and there were still no lights around. It's pretty much in the middle of no where and very dark. When we got in the Indian lady who worked there was very rude for no particular reason. We asked if this is where the breakfast was and she said she only had cereal. The rooms were clean but you're better off staying somewhere else.

The Vermonter has seen much better days. Everything was clean but shabby and musty. The price was very high (2 - 3x higher) compared to similar properties we passed in the same area. The "continental" breakfast was two cold cereals, stale donut holes & orange drink, weak coffee, white bread & tasteless bagels. The owners were argumentative and slow to understand requests. The cold water was not operating in the sinks, shower and toilet; when we complained to the hostess/owner, she said it was all right. We had to ask for cold bottled water to brush our teeth.

nice location, the bed was comfortable...but the cont. breakfast had moldy bagels! Beautiful road to jog on in the morning. but still a bit to pricey.

If you need the homogeneous modern rooms of a Holiday Inn, the Vermonter’s smallish retro cabins with their low ceilings probably won’t meet your approval. But we found it a comfortable breath of fresh air at a great price -- one that saved us from a longggg drive back to Boston after a late evening of the Bang on Can Marathon at MassMOCA (about 20-25 min away). We stayed in one of the quaint, funky 50-60s era cottages, had a nice quiet sleep, and enjoyed a standard continental breakfast the next morning. And one of the staffers went out of his way to mail two shirts that we had left behind back to us.
