The rooms (especially the bathroom - reading a broadsheet while sitting on the loo is almost an impossible challenge) are rather small, but okay if you are only staying for one or two nights, like I did. The main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) is only a two minute walk away, so the hotel is perfect if you're arriving by train.

Stayed 2 nights in Dec 2011 for X'mas market and Neuschwanstein castle. Purposely looked for this location as I stayed in the area the year before in a different hotel. Perfect hotel if you are planning to: 1. go to the main square (10-15 walks depends how fast you walk or 1-2 stops on tram) via the main street (with full of shops and restaurants etc so you don't feel bored/lost/scared walking in a strange city!) 2. Main train station to travel other parts of Germany (Neuschwanstein for us this time and Vienna the year before), it just across the road and I meant across the road!! 3. go to Beer fest., as is only about 15 mins walk also! Room was clean but very small and dated, bathroom was very small also (like you are in private yacht type). Bed was comfy enough for 2 of us. Staff was very polite and professional. We didn't have breakfast there (can't remember if they even offered any breakfast as we got our Starbucks in the morning anyway) Like some other people said, there is a strip club near the hotel, I have to say that we did not see any problems nor something unpleasant outside there. We came back to the hotel late night (1-2 am) and no one standing outside, definitely wasn't the type of strip clubs in Prague which have people to trying 'pull' you in type. (Hope you know what I mean). Little tip: Walking further down from the hotel has lots of Turkish/Lebanese cafe/restaurants which serve super yum kebabs... (should check it out if you like those kind of food) :-) If you don't expect to stay in your room all the time and want a good value base for your city break in Munich in a very central location. This is for you! I would recommend this hotel to people with particular requirements (like I mention in above) Hope this helps!

Not bad for a night or two. very close to main train station. toilet looks funny like on a train or plane.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel Dolomit in December 2011. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious - two twin beds pushed together and a lounge area - and appeared to have been recently renovated. It was great value for money, especially in central Munich. It was walking distance to most major attractions and is just a few minutes walk to Hauptbanhof. Like many neighbourhoods around train stations, the area is a little seedy, but the hotel is quiet, with little impact from street noise. As a well-traveled late-30's female, I would have felt quite comfortable to stay here on my own. (The immediate vicinity also hosted several well-known quality chain hotels, which would be much more expensive - with not much increase in quality - than the Dolomit.) We were VERY impressed with the Dolomit and would stay there again, if we return to Munich. I would recommend this hotel to any traveller.

Hotel Dolomit is just one block next to the central station which is very accessible. Although the hotel room is small, but it is enough for a budget traveler.

This is basically a cheap option, but with nice quality bed and an OK bath room. Service aside from basic checking in and checking out is non-existing in my experience. I tried asking in a friendly way, if it would be possible to check out later than the standard 11 AM, and got an unecessarily rude and unfriendly answer. Silly, since basically giving the answer "unfortunately not" can easily be done without insulting the customer - and friendliness / basic politeness is free.

Decent but very small room. The bathroom was small too and didnt have enough air (no window). Still, good price for the location (the area is not great but not dangerous either and very convenient). Our biggest problem : wifi was not included and cost 4€ a day and only one person could use it at a time ! Nice and helpful staff.

Room is really really small and very basic. It is more like a small dormitory room than a hotel room by any definition but the room was relatively clean and the location is great--very close to the train station.

Upon checking in I was granted a request for a quiet location on the top floor. Due to the slope of the roof, the room layout was acutally more spacious... much appreciated. Most importantly I was able to get a good night's sleep before returning to the USA the next day. Hotel is closely located to the train station and the S-Bahn which goes directly to the airport. I will certainly stay here again.

We booked this hotel for it's convenient location close to Munich's central station. It was very easy to find, 3 min from the station, and a good base for exploring central munich. It had comfy beds, hot shower, and all the expectied amenities, though the curtains were not the cleanest. For the price, an excellent deal.

Very close to the main rail station. Plenty of stores nearby. Clean room.

Overall a good value. Close to the railway station in Munich, a short walk to the pedestrian zone which contains the main tourist spots of Munich. Wi Fi available for a cost, and clean, but not spacious rooms. Shops nearby in this busy part of town.

Like: The building looks modern and new. For two star hotel I was amused. It's clean too. The location is very near to the train station/tram stop. Dislike: My room has no aircon, and it was a noisy when I opened the window (facing the road), but a fan was provided.

very close to Trainstation ,easy check in ,very friendly-my Room need a paint job ,Bed was clean -nice ,if you are not bothered with surrounding (strip clubs etc)is o.k

Walked staright to hotel when we got off the train. I was a little shocked by the the casino and dancing girls bars on the street but, it didnt seem to be too seedy when you see families walking by all day. The beds / bedding were the most comfortable we had on our Euporean vacation. But the room may have been a smoking room at one point? It was easy to walk to towncenter from the hotel.

This hotel location was very close to the train station and but tours. The staff was friendly and when we had a drain problem, they came and fixed it immediately. The room was so small that there was very little room around the bed to walk and the bathroom was extremely tiny. Things were clean however and if you don't mind a very "tight" room, you have a very convenient location for transportation.

This hotel was not up to par. The shower did not drain well so water spilled everywhere. The room felt gross and unkempt. Not likely to return and its near a shady area of adult shops, lol

Only one block to the main train station with friendly front desk staff. Very clean and convenient. Do not accept a room on the top floor, (6th floor,) on the street side because the roof sharply slopes on both sides of the single dormer window and you cannot stand up in one half of the room. The breakfast is sparse and limited for the price. The neighborhood is very ethnic but no one bothers people walking along. We stayed 4 days since it was easy to make train connections to other parts of southern Germany for day trips.

This hotel was right next to the central station, and not far from the beautiful MarienPlatz and the largest bier garten in Munich wasn't far either. The room was small but comfortable, with a flat screen tv. The bathroom was small and looked kinda like an airplane bathroom, but it was clean. They made our bed and changed the towels. Sadly, breakfast was not included with our room (it was almost 10 euros)... The receptionist was really helpful, printed us off some google maps and gave us the directions to a nice restaurant. We would probably go back to Hotel Dolomit, even though it was a little over our prices... but it was really nice.

If you are looking for a budget hotel near the Munich train station, then this hotel fits the need. The rooms are small but clean. The staff was friendly. There are lots of ethnic (Turkish, Greek, Bosnian) restaurants in the area ---- but if you go to the other side of the train station, you'll find more up-scale restaurants available. Yes, there are some "adult" entertainment establishments in the neighborhood, also, but they are of no concern or bother. One tip: I reserved a non-smoking single, and when I check in the clerk told me they cannot guarantee a "non-smoking" room. As it was, my room was just fine. When I checked out, I asked the clerk about this "no guarantee", and he said they can only guarantee a "non-smoking double", but with "single rooms", they don't guarantee it. "Hotels dot com" really should contact this hotel and clarify this matter, because it is important.

A great location for train travelers. Rooms are large and clean. Nice staff. No complaints.

Even thogh the suroundings were somewhat seedy the Hotel staff more than made up for it by their helping and friendly attitude.

If you're looking for a cheap, quality hotel near the airport, consider Hotel Dolomite. The room was small, the bathroom tiny (and all plastic), but clean and the staff was cordial, spoke English very well, and was quite helpful. The internet is not free (despite my booking confirmation) but it was reasonable and fast. The location is excellent being only about a half block from the train station and a metro stop (only 1 stop from Oktoberfest grounds). The hotel allowed me to store my bags before/after check-in/check-out and quickly corrected a billing error without much haggling. All in all, I'd stay here again if just looking for a quick place to sleep.

It was a really good location next to the station. The staff was a little snobby but overall not too bad. The breakfast was good and the room was clean.

Nice, comfortable and clean rooms. Nice restaurant. Good wireless internet connection, although you have to pay extra for it (not much).

Okay....location is GREAT - right near the main train station. Room was small, but neat and clean. Hallways not impressive. Reception helpful. Good for anight or 2 in Munich.

This hotel is rated 2 star , whoever gave this "hotel" this rating must never have stayed in a hotel before . The rooms are the same size as the bathroom of a regular 2star hotel . The lifts have floor carpet tacked to their walls , covering up what , I dread to think . The "hotel " does not have a saf facility in room or at reception desk . They have a lovely attitude at the fron t desk - when asked how they could charge so much for such a dump I got a very honest answer - " because there is a trade show on , we can charge whatever we want , like at the beer festival " I would strongly recommend hotels.com to remove this place from their listings as it does not live up to the standars of any previous hotels I stayed in on their site . To sum up ; DO NOT EVEN GIVE A SECOND GLANCE TO !

The hotel was close to the main train station which made very easy to travel with all our baggage. Room was small but adequate.Bathroom was fine but had no hair dryer. We were on a budget and for the money we paid and the room that we got was worth it!

The hotel is very close to the main station, which is convenient because we made a trip to the Neuchwenstein castle, and Nurnberg Christmas market which is bout 2 hours train ride from Munich. Room is basic and clean, everything works perfectly, tv, heating, hot water. All in, a very cheap and comfortable stay

The room was quite small, as was the bathroom (almost like you would have in a nice RV) but the location and price couldn't be beat! Some reviewers were a bit put off by the district it was in, with some casinos and sex shops, but there were mostly very normal businesses (even some kind of school in the building across from the hotel) and the location a block from the central train station and a 15 minute walk to Marienplatz was great.

very nice hotel. no parking, i'v got a discount in near hotel but it coast me 14 euro per night. neighborhood is a little scary at night..... i whold return next time.

We recommend upgrading to a double room in the newly renovated part of the hotel. Reception staff were friendly and helfpul. The hotel is conveniently located close to the main Hauptbahnhof train station, tourist info centre and shops. However the only negative thing is that the street the hotel is on is next to seedy sex shops BUT my partner and I were ok because the hotel is on a busy road and also there is a 4 star hotel nearby on the same street. However I would not recommend this hotel to a single female traveller for safety reasons only because you need to walk along this street to get the hotel. The double room we upgraded to was spacious, comfortable, modern and so was the bathroom. The nice room made up for the not so nice area. The only issue we had was with the cleanliness of the room. One day we returned from a day tour and found our room hadn't been cleaned properly, our bathroom hadn't been cleaned at all and the cleaner hadn't replaced our towels, toilet paper or soap even though we had left the 'please clean/make up room' sign on the door. All the cleaner did was empty the rubbish bin. The bathroom smelt and we had no toilet paper. We notified the reception staff who immediately brought up items for us to use but they couldn't get a cleaner to clean the room that evening because the room service cleaners had gone home! We were very unhappy with this so the next day we laid a complaint and our room was cleaned extremely well and soap, toilet paper, towels etc... were replaced. It was just a shame that the cleaners didn't do a good job like the reception staff. Overall though for the close convenient location, good value of the nice upgraded room and helpful reception staff I would still recommend this hotel.

Nice, quaint hotel that had everything needed for one night during Oktoberfest. Location was perfect and they were very accommodating! Always convenient when you can leave the key at the desk when you go out.

It is a 2 Star hotel, single rooms are small, clean and the price is right. No breakfast, it can be had at their other more expensive hotel 3 block away at around 14 Euro. Goethe Strasse is at the south side of the Rail station. Most businesses on the street are Turkish or Arabic and so are most of the people on the Street. But it is not full of Girlie Bars, Night Clubs, Casinos etc like Schiller Strasse 2 blocks away were the majority of Hotels are. This street is a dumb from the beginning to the end of hotel row made by the people which are mostly Turks or other Arabs mostly between 20 and 50 plus a few Germans with a Beer Bottle in their hand already in the morning. I used to live there 50 years ago, what a difference. Despite that the street looks like a red light district there are no problems of being bothered.

This hotel was clean and in a really good location for the price. It was right next to the central hub of the subway and within walking distance from the Glockenspiel and the main square. The hotel was clean.. small but very doable.

the perfect hotel in Munich 1/2 block to train station, 1/2 block to subway, close to groceries and easy walk everywhere. Stay here u wont be sorry

I had expected a tiny room with a closet for a bathroom, and was pleased to find a very good deal. I had paid for a single room, but got a double. The room and bathroom were both larger than I had expected, and larger by far than rooms I have had in Paris and Amsterdam. The price was fantastic. It was a short block to the train station and just a few minutes to anything worth seeing in old Munich. I would whole heartedly recomend the Hotel Dolomit!

We stayed in 8 places while on a 13 day trip through Germany and 2-days in Austria. Of those 8 places we would rank this one number 7. We received an upgraded room, which was good. It was fairly spacious, with adequate furnishings. We stayed near a lot of train stations, and this area contained the most amount of red light district activities and characters. However, nothing was too alarming, and it was all very tolerable. For 24 hr. internet it was probably the most reasonable on our trip. Decent walk or transit to most things you would want to see. Staff seemed a bit odd, but was nice enough.

My GF and I stayed here for 2 nights. Another small old European hotel. We took the old elevator to our room and wow.. that was a small room. Pretty much a 10x10ft space with bathroom included. We only used it to sleep and shower so it worked for us. Had a nice 20in or so flat screen tv. I dont think it had A/C we used the window as it wasn't that hot in Munich at the time. Besides the size, only downfall was the bathroom drains were slow, so you needed to take quick showers before it would overflow. Otherwise the room was clean and served it purpose. The Location was close to the city center and the train. We had no problems getting around.
