Buckatree Hall Hotel - شروبشاير (مقاطعة)

We arrived at the hotel quite late, 10.45pm to be greeted by a very helpful receptionist who gave us our room keys and arranged for a sandwich to be made for my husband which was very nice of them as it was so late. We went to our room which was lovely, clean and roomy with a balcony overlooking a green, everything seemed fine until we went into the bathroom, it was unclean, very dirty toilet, we told the receptionist who then had it cleaned to our satisfaction. In the morning I noticed there were only enough towels for one person when we were ii a double! When we went to pay we told them of our disappointing stay and they were very apologetic and waved our bar bill so all in all we were happy. Would definitely stay there again despite everything.

Our original confirmation said we would have a room overlooking the lake but when we arrived the room we were given did not even have a normal window, only a skylight. As we were staying three nights this was unacceptable and we spoke to the staff and they gave us another room which overlooked the driveway at the front of the hotel but at least had a large window.

Overall, this is a lovely hotel with efficient, pleasant staff in a beautiful location with lakes (beware the deep water if taking children), wooded grounds and the nearby Wrekin Hill if you get a sudden burst of energy. Beware of runners,hikers and parked cars on the approach roads. Our confirmation showed we had booked a room with a lake/garden view and balcony as it was a celebration so were not too pleased to find ourselves in a (comfortable) room with only a skylight. Stepping into the corridor, there was a view of a builders hut and materials and the rubbish bins. Staff apologized, blamed Hotel.com advertising for putting these room at that price and moved us next day to a room looking onto the garden. Let down by poor washing up, expensive but grubby looking upholstery, cracked glass panels and cigarette butts on the balcony. The bedding was very clean and the 2 towels provided were luxurious. Beds on the hard side.

We chose the area because it was close to Shrewsbury but found the hotel a delight in a delightful place. The accomodations were excellent, easily up to 4/5. The people were very helpful and the surroundings beautiful.

Much enjoyed this stay. Very nice and convenient location, Staff were excellent. Room first rate.

A one-night stop over on a route through the local area. The hotel appearance is very nice and the staff members at check-in and check-out were very efficient and friendly. Our room wasn't near to our expectations as advised by Hotels.com. Absolutely NO view but of a roof top and another outside wall. Room was "extremely" small for a couple. NO place to set luggage without tripping over it. Bathroom was nice but there was a shoe print on the floor and a drink ring on the bathroom counter. Thankfully, we only spent one night in this room. I'm positive however, there are nicer rooms with better views and amenities. Beautiful area surrounding the hotel and plenty of parking.

Lovely traditional hotel, with old-fashioned good service!

booked last minute twin room and then given the tiniest double in hotel although on first impressions the hotel was enormous old building. Obviously being done up we were then upgraded to a v nice 2 bedded room ov erlooking lake as per booking. Foodwise evening dining room closed/bar food surroundings unappealing altho girl nice as all staff hepful. very good breakfast def worth money .

quiet location comfortable room. access to hotel could be a problem in snow/ice conditions otherwise v good

Really enjoyed my stay here only lil gripe i have is the snow was heavy on departure and the car park was a nightmare to get out of as not gritted or cleared but there was a helpful gentleman that worked at hotel that came out and assisted me to get up the hill. Brilliant high standard hotel will be coming back

Room 28 noisy above room with machines running and clanking for 5 hours from 5p.m to 1030 p.m. each day. Bedside lamps look impressive but impossible to switch on.

Set in lovely woodland. We really enjoyed our stay @ Buckatree We would have no hesitation in re-booking this hotel if we stay in Telford area again

Enjoyed time at the Buckatree Hall Hotel, room made available early on our arrival at 12.15pm. Only 'gripe' no heating in room during the day, only early morning and evening and snow outside! Restuarant not available first evening as electrics problem due to excessive rain/snow but not a problem, meals in bar. Ideal for walk up the Wrekin, lovely countryside. Would stay there again.

Excellent breakfast and lovely location.

This is good Hotel in a superp setting. Just a couple of irritating niggles. It has a really nice bar but if you just want a light bar snack in the evening, especially if you had a good lunch, you cant! You can only order food from the main dinner menu. Surely if you want an evening meal one would go to the restaurant?? The breakfast bacon was overcooked and the coffee is yuk. I mentioned this on the Hotel review form and they promised they were looking at an alternative. We have booked again for next year so hopefully these niggles will be resolved by March 2013.

The location was great for Telford's Ironbridge Museums. It was above average for an English hotel and the room was very nice. But getting to the room was an adventure. The hotel had been added to so many times. We had to go through 4 fire doors and up and down at least 12 sets to get to and from our room...after we took the elevator to the 2nd floor. Service was good; the food was overpriced and tasty.

Excellent breafast. Plenty of choice.

We were only there one night, but we had a nice room overlooking nice scenery. Bed was comfortable.

The first thing that I noticed was that the hotel was a 3* and not a 4* as stated.We had no hairdryer in the room and a full ashtray was left on the balcony, our safe didnt work so we couldn't use that either and the staff said that they couldn't fix it. The little pot holding the tea coffee sugar etc. was dirty with contents from broken packets in the bottom. When we arrived back for our second night our bed had just been smoothed over , pillows not plumped up and we had wet bath towels hanging in the bathroom and the spiders leg was still on the floor.

Generally a nice hotel, the corridors leading to the rooms need some attention, they are clean but rather worn looking. However, the room is ok and comfortable with free wi-fi access. The restaurant food is good and plentiful although be warned the hotel had coach tours staying both nights of my stay and the restaurant was very busy. I would recommend you book a table to avoid disappointment. The hotel is located in teh country with some great walks in the woods opposite.

We stayed overnight before going to a wedding locally. The decor of the hotel is really good, as are the rooms. They were let down by the crumbs left on the floor of our room as we checked in. Also, we were a little disappointed by the breakfast which had been sitting there for too long. Why do hotels serve rubbish coffee at breakfast? It was so awful, I could not drink it and the tea wasn't much better. Overall though, it was a good stay as it was so quiet and peaceful, despite there being a wedding party going on downstairs. Our room overlooked the 'lake' with views towards the Welsh hills - even a hot air balloon flying overhead as we opened the curtains to a clear, still Shropshire morning. We would stay there again if we are in the area.

This was our 2nd stay in a month & if ever in the area, I would definitely stay here again. The furniture & furnishings are luxurious which together with the very friendly staff makes a lovely relaxing atmosphere.

We had one night here and found it convenient to the Shrewsbury show. It was easy to find and in a lovey neighbourhood. The room was well decorated and a very comfortable bed. We only stayed for one night so did not have any breakfast or dinner as it was an early start. I would certainly come again and would recommend it.

The hotel was exceptional, in brilliant peaceful countryside. Staff were attentive and food was very good.All areas were cleaned daily

Near enough to motorway to allow easy acess to Ironbridge and Shrewesbury. Must have a car, but parking is free. Wonderful area for walks and enjoying the outdoors. Restaurant is beautiful and food is delicious. We had a room that overlooked the pond and was serene.

Hotel lovely, room excellent,nicely decorated, immaculately clean and everything worked. Comfortable bed and great nights sleep.Breakfast a disaster. Was told 20 minute wait. Given choice of waiting in bar area or in room and would be phoned. Chose to go back to the room as my son is autistic. Half an hour later no one had called, I went back to the restaurant and was ignored by the staff. I then went upstairs to pack. When I checked out at reception I was then shown to a table with my son. I was past it by then. I dont know if there was a choice of juices or cereals but if there was, they had gone. I was just asked, do you want a full english. The coffee was stewed, the breakfast lukewarm, we felt uncomfortable as the staff obviously wanted to clear up, we were practically the only ones in the restaurant. We ate very little and left. I would never stop in this hotel again, but it is a lovely hotel in great surroundings but if you go there, book room only or get in very early if you want breakfast

A decently priced hotel, the standard room was rather small but comfortable. The bathroom was small with some awkward layout problems... Had to remove the toilet roll from the holder just to have enough room to sit on the loo! The view was of other windows and a flat roof, guess you have to pay for a view. The free wi-fi signal was very weak in the rooms. Breakfast was good though and the location of the hotel was great for our needs.

From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. It was raining and a member of staff passing our car picked up our suitcases and rushed them into reception for us. For the whole stay nothing was too much trouble even though they had 2 wedding parties to cater for on the Friday and Saturday. The food was excellent my only criticism was that the bacon was a little too well done everything else was lovely. We could not believe it is only a 3 star hotel as it is definitely worthy of a 4 star rating. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and elegantly furnished with massive flat screen TV's, comfy beds, seating area, nice bathrooms with plenty of soft towels, a hairdryer, an iron, tea & coffee facilities and a safe. An added extra is the balcony's with 2 chairs overlooking either the lake or landscaped gardens. We would definitely stay there again!...

Had been allocated a room with view of the lake according to the website but had to phone and request a non-pet room as husband is allergic to all things furry. Therefore got a room without a view, but I blame it on him indoors. Anyway, it was all very clean and comfortable and well provisioned with laptop sized safe, iron and board and a lovely powerful shower in the bathroom. Staff were helpful and friendly. Fantastic value for the money. Used the free wi-fi - a godsend as most hotels charge an arm and a leg very opportunistically. Good breakfast next morning set us up for the day. Beautiful surroundings - shame about the weather or I might have braved the Wrekin.

If I had read reviews before I booked,I would have checked if there was a wedding on. Because the noise from the disco below was a real pain even though I was on the second floor. Also, even though I didn't ask for it,I was promised a room with a lake and garden view. I could only see a flat roof and the wall of the room opposite from my window. That didn't concern. Me too much but why promise and not deliver. Overall I would stay again but check first. Brod

Enjoyed our stay and room very comfortable with bonus of a 32 " flat screenTV after a tiring day sight seeing. Only gripe couldnt get key card to operate lift and several small sets of steps on way to rooms which make it awkward for people with limited mobility especially with luggage,although I believe you could request assistance with your luggage . However this assistance was not offered nor were we asked if we needed any help on arrival, even though I am elderly.

Lovely hotel, but a shame the weather was so bad, otherwise we would have been able to take a lovely long walk.

Our one-night stop in Buckatree Hall was delightful. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was very well maintained. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good value. I'd go back in a flash. To finish, the breakfast buffet was excellent with a choice of the usual bacon, eggs etc and some wonderful black pudding.

The hotel was off the beaten track slightly but that added to it's charm. Lovely helpful staff and great food.

A very comfortable hotel, well worth a visit.

We have stayed here once before and this visit felt like coming home. It is very good value and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast is also good. However, the restaurant is not inspiring and lacking ambience. We went to Shrewsbury on the second night and found an exceptional meal in a lovely setting.

Most (though not all) staff were friendly, food was good, faults in room were rectified quickly. However, we were almost deafened by noise from the function room below us for several hours on the Friday night. We lodged a complaint at 11 pm. Complaints to the duty manager the next morning were received sympathetically and we were promised contact from the manager on our return home. We are still waiting!!

Booked this hotel when working in the Telford area. Booking process was simple with hotels.com, even got an additional 10 % off with promo code (£). The hotel itself was more 4 than 3 star. The whole hotel has recently been renovated to a v high standard. Twin room was of a good size. Spotless clean. 32' TV. Excellent power shower in bathroom.Had meal from the bar menu. A little over priced but good quality . The buffet breakfast included in the price of the room was also top quality. Would definitely stay here again.

Ideal stay for a driving holiday, there is a lot to see nearby and the hotel has heaps of parking. Very peaceful country location. Rooms just renovated and mine was clean, tidy, and a good size. The balcony was a nice surprise too. The lack of AC might be a problem on hotter days, but the balcony door and window give much better ventilation than most hotels I've stayed in. The on site restaurant is not bad either.
