Grand Hotel Ambasciatori - سورينتو

This hotel was beyond expectations. It was a perfect relaxing oasis after a month of serious sightseeing. The gardens were a sensual delight and the views of the coast majestic. The service and location of the hotel were outstanding. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite.

This hotel is a delight. The public rooms and open spaces are all very attractive and well maintained. The views from the gardens and the places to sit outside are splendid. It is a 10 minute walk from the center of Sorrento. The food is excellent and the staff delightful. The hotel is on a busy and noisy road so worth an upgrade to garden or sea views. Only drawbacks are poor showers, charging for wifi and 20€ a day for parking.

this place was incredibly beautiful from the gardens, the views of the bay from the gardens, and the breakfast buffet, the indoor decor; the tours offered for the week was convenient to take, and well worth it. we took the pompeii half day tour for 34 euros, and amalfi coast all day tour for amalfi/ravello for 72 euros; the hotel has wifi, and the lobby has 2 computers with printer for use; we booked 5 nts and deceded to stay another 2 nts; Sorrento has plenty to enjoy for 7nts, and to use for a base to see Capri, the Amalfi Coast towns, and Pompeii for day trips. dinner fixed price was good as well.

Fabulous hotel with great staff and restaurant. We stayed two nights and loved the location on the cliffside with beautiful views and access to the water for swimming. Short walk to all the activities in Sorrento.

I stayed here the third week in September with my grandmother. Room We had a premier room with balcony and sea views and the view across the Bay of Naples was extraordinary. Fruit bowl and bottle of fizz greeted us on arrival. I found the bed and pillows a little hard but that is a matter of personal taste. Pleasantly surprised by the choice of TV channels, which included 2 Sky cinema channels and BBC Entertainment. The ensuite was nice, although no non-slip mats for the bath so if you are travelling with an elderly person worried about slipping you should bring your own. Only complaint is that there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room, but I understand this is normal in Italy. Towels were proper towels not like the linen ones in some other Sorrento hotels. My parents had a cheaper room, which was identical inside but had very little natural light. The room had a small balcony which looked out onto an attractively decorated light well but the contrast in light between their room and ours was striking. Two of the floors of the hotel are below ground level and unless you have a room facing out to sea (ie from the cliff face) it is quite dark. Worth checking if you think you will be spending a lot of time in the room. Rest of Hotel The hotel is in a gorgeous location with beautiful landscaping and they've maximised every opportunity to get the clifftop view in. Having the choice of pool or bathing platform definitely a plus. IT's big enough that the wedding happening while we were there did not impinge on the rest of the hotel. Restaurant was great although they usually had a special all-inclusive thing on which made dining in quite expensive (as you couldn't opt out of pudding etc). It is about 15 minutes walk into town, walking on narrow cobbledy pavements, which could be a negative if you are less mobile (wasn't for us). Only about 10 minutes walk to the train station. Non-management staff bent over backwards to try and please. From the wait staff, to the bartender, to the housekeeping staff, they all were warm, friendly and accommodating. The grounds, view and gardens are beautiful. Our experience with the rooms was not as positive. We booked two rooms for 5 nights (with balcony & views). The rooms are definitely not 4 1/2 stars as they advertise. One room was ok. In the other room, the walls were dirty, the mold in the shower was disgusting, and the pillows were stained, just to mention a few. The bed blankets were mangy looking and dirty. We requested a change of rooms, but the Manager would not speak to us, or change our room. They did send housekeeping to do an overhaul cleaning which brought the room to a passable standard, but only that of an average 2 or 3 star hotel. The housekeeping staff did try daily to make us comfortable.

Worth the money! Staff was so friendly! Wonderful views! Best place in Sorrento to stay! The restraunt had a dress code and the food was expensive but we didn't eat there. Within walking distance of the busy piazza!

This hotel has a lovely old world feel and is very pretty, lots of marble, not too big and lovely gardens and on the water as well as well. Had a pool, which was nice too. I was thinking that it would be a great venue for a destination wedding, very pretty inside and out. The breakfast was very good, hotel and our room very clean. Ask for a room not facing front if you can, front is a little noisy, but it was ok. Overall, very nice, good value too.

The Ambasciatore is a lovely hotel with spectacular views of the Bay of Naples. It is well kept and the grounds are beautiful. The gardens and the pool are lovely. The dining room is beautiful and overlooks the view. The food and service in the dining room is excellent. The breakfast is delicious and abundant. The staff is top notch and go out of their way to be accommodating. Hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the main part of town, or Piazza Tazo, but well worth the extra walking.

Very lovely hotel with gorgeous views and pool and gardens - a little walk into town but not steep. Restaurant in square Aurora has excellent pizza

Room was gorgeous. Clean room and new bathroom. It was very close to San Marco which was perfect. Great price. Highly recommend

This hotel is ideal - 5-10 minutes walk from the main square, great facilities, beautiful rooms and right on the water. Mainly English tourists around when we where there, and a little older crowd. Pretty quiet - which was perfect for us.

I cannot say enough about our fantastic experience at this hotel. The staff was great and assisted on all questions very professional. We had a Mediterranean view that was breathtaking, the breakfast the best. Location perfecto!!

It's quite a walk from the train station especially with luggage in hand,but I think a lot of hotels will be farther than this.Had a view of a football field.Service is great.Internet connection but no wifi in room but available in lounge .Good breakfast , however they have 3 restaurants which don't sell simple food-so If you're planning to have dinner at the hotel ,then its gotto be room service with 5 euro.Very responsive staff.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have every seen. The staff was friendly. The view from our breakfast table could not have been better. The food was great. The grounds were extensive gardens. The price was end of the season so it was afordable, want to go back!

The buffet breakfast was the best we had in Italy. Ate at the hotel restaurant three times during our five day stay since the food and service were fabulous! Very helpful and friendly staff too!

Charming hotel about a 20 minute walk from the center of things. With the noise of Sorrento, it was nice to be a bit removed. Breakfast or cocktails on your own balcony is a real treat. Lovely pool and lobby.

the hotel does not have a formal concierge so when the front desk attendant made a reservation at a local eatery and told me it was "on the water" he was dead wrong. The restaraunt didn't even have an ocean view. Also, when we booked our room we booked a partial ocean view. It was definitely "partial", i.e. behind a huge tree! We could scarcely see the ocean view at all. When we asked to be moved they said they could not. Now on the brighter side. The views from the hotel pool and seaside dock down below were phenomenal.We swam in the Meditteranean and had an ocean side lunch down at the hotels cliff side restaraunt. Although they won't serve you at your lounge chair, you must go to the bar to order and be served. The hotel is very conveniently located from the train station (a short 10 minute walk) and also close to the downtown Piazza (local gathering place.

This hotel is located in a lovely setting. Our room was very clean. We went for the Double Classic which is what I would recommend as the Double Economy seems to be down in the rock face with no view of anything. The staff where very helpfull and friendly.

Great place, great staff, perfect location & I would highly recommend to family.and friends.

Hotellet ligger rett på klippen, men vær oppmerksom på utfordringer knyttet til romkategori. Det er kun suite-kategoriene som har direkte sjøutsikt. Vi fikk et rom som kikket inn i en palme og måtte oppgradere til suite for å få utsikten som vi trodde vi hadde bestilt. Frokost med egen egge-kokk er veldig bra, og de håndterer også spesielle matønsker meget bra. Dyktige kelnere som er positive og imøtekommende. Transport til og fra hotell bør bestilles gjennom andre, slik som for eksempel Qlick Airport transfer (som vi benyttet med stor tilfredshet). Hotellets strand er meget bra (men ikke sand). Alle utgifter under oppholdet føres på rommet.

Dette hotellet har førsteklasses utsikt, og ditto service, og det er ført og fremst dette man betaler for (dette hotellet kan være ganske dyrt) . Standarden er som forventet for denne klassen hotell. Desverre er hotellet plassert et stykke fra sentrum i Sorrento (10-15 min gange), og det blir derfor en del trasking til restauranter o.l. Badefasilitetene er glimrende, med både sjøbad (med egen heis til!) og svømmebasseng.

Fabulous old style hotel close to town center. Fantastic views from room, garden and restaurant terrace over Napoli Bay. Excellent breakfast buffet with individualized omelettes and crepes. AC in the rooms was very powerful which was also needed in the summer heat. Blinds on the bedroom window added to the cooling of the room.

We stayed in the terrible hotel for 3 nights. it was nightmare. Our room was Double premier room - not cheep but it was very noisy as the upstairs is restaurant. You have to stand the clatter noise of chairs from 6am to 10pm. it was ludicrous ! The hotel is located far from the central so you have to get a taxi for dinner.

Kamer was een beetje muffig. Uitzicht was zeer goed. Hotel is wat belegen maar faciliteiten zijn verder goed. Ontbijt is zelfs excellent, buffet + kok die omeletten, pannekoeken e.d. voor je bakt. Alles bij de prijs inbegrepen. Ligging is zeer goed, binnen 5 minuten ben je in het centrum van Sorrento, 15 minuten te voet naar het haventje waar de boten naar Napels, Capri en Sorrento vertrekken. Gasten zijn merendeel iets oudere gasten , hotel heeft zich hierop aangepast. Mooie tuin met veel zitjes en uitzicht op Vesuvius en Napels, hier bevindt zich tevens het zwembad. Niet groot maar wel goed genoeg. Klein restaurant in de tuin is ook prima. Kortom voor een bezoek aan Sorrento en omgeving een goed hotel wat ons betreft.

För andra året i rad har vi tillbringat en vecka på Ambasciatori. Fjolårets intryck består! Ett mycket bra hotell med oslagbar utsikt, bra service och standard. Ca. tio min promenad in till Sorrentos centrum.

Stort vackert rum ,med stor balkong, som hade en underbar utsikt över havet och landskapet. Personalen var trevlig, och alla allmänna utrummen var mycket fina. Likaså trädgårdden med pool och växtlighet. Det låg relativt centralt med restauranger, gamla stan och tågstation ca 10-15 min promenad från hotellet. Rekommenderas

We stayed 5 nights at this lovely hotel and were very impressed with the food, the cleanliness and the friendly service. We were asked to try and nominate a member of the staff for exceptional service, but we had to simply say 'everyone'. Our room, overlooking the sea, was really nice and comfortable. The pool and the gardens were magnificent, with plenty of sitting groups, lush plants and beutiful view of the coast and harbour area. Only 5 minutes from the town center and train terminal.
