The location is very quite and receptionist is nice, free wifi service is always convenient. But lack of water heater is a frustrating problem, especially when you want to drink some hot water, you have to go downstairs and pay to use the coffee machine.

Definatelly would sugest it! Been there in the small attick room late March. Me and my girlfriend from Greece. Great location just underneath a great Bar Koosie or something and in the opposite side walk great cafe called coffee to walk. Served by two trams 14 - 9 only two stops from Rembrand place a great night destination and 5 stops from the Dam square. Doable by walk about 15-20 minutes! Safe neighbourhood, near artis zoo and hortus botanicus. The bathroom was a bit small, maybe somenone taller than 1.85 would have a problem, and we liked the fact that the cleaning service was uppon request as we dont enjoy others entering our room. Towels and blancket we were sceptical about using them, but we had our own. Otherwise quite clean. No problems at all.

A nice hotel close to everything in Amsterdam. Friendly staff. Private toilet on the room and a refrigerator. Free Wi-Fi. A place to sleep.

That was a good choice, in such a good place in Amsterdam. And the city helps a lot. That's incredible!

We were 2 young couples and stayed here for a weekend break (2 nights). Excellent position 10-15 minute walk into the center, was also well lit at night went returning to the hotel. Hotel was very close to a tram line which we never used. Good friendly service from the staff, room was is good shape. You get what you pay for with this place it is not going to be a 5* hotel because that is not what you are paying for. But overall good beds, large room, hot running water for 4 showers each morning, small fridge, couple of pubs/cafes in close proximity also close to a market. Perfect for a couple of nights.

Overall our stay in this hotel is satisfactory. The location is a bit off from the busy city center, however easily accessible by tram, Tram #9 stop right in front of the hotel from Central Station. The reception has been very friendly in providing useful information surround. The down side is it is a bit noisy at night especially towards the weekend, due to a cafe restaurant located at downstair which is like a gathering point for a lot of youngsters at night.

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, especially the guy on reception. short tram ride away from all tourist attractions or you can walk in about 12 mins. couldn't ask for better value for money. We shall definately return,

We stayed at the HP for 4 nights. The room was nice and large. The hotel itself was well kept and the staff very pleasant and helpful. The only problem was that our room was just above a noisy street and tram lines. The trams run early to late and it made sleeping very difficult, even with earplugs. If you are a VERY sound sleeper then maybe this is not an issue.

Since the weather in Amsterdam is rainy and cool, we had to spend a little more time than we wanted to in the hotel room. The beds were uncomfortable, the carpet needed a good cleaning, a vacuum at least, and the bathroom was too small. Although the locatiion was great, the accomodations we not for us. We are a couple in our 30's, and this hotel is more like a hostel.

The room was clean and larger than I expected. The bathroom was also larger than I expected. The location is amazing, very close to downtown but in a relatively quiet area. I was happy to discover that they have a small refrigerator in the room. And the internet connection, although not the fastest, was also a big plus. Potential customers should just take into account that the stairs are very steep.

Lovely staff, spacious room, great value, Tram stop out front, 15 min walk to dam square. Highly recommended

Just back from 3 nights at the Plantage. We stayed in room 15, our friends were in 22 and room 34 in the attic. Excellent stay, 15 minutes walk from Red Light district, Rembrandtplein and 20 minutes walk from Central Station. The Number 9 tram can take you to Dam Square in 5 minutes from just around the corner. The receptionist/ Manager very welcoming on arrival explained all that was close by for food beer and cigarettes. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and bedding clean. Clean towels on arrival and a good sized bathroom. Excellent stay and we will be going back. We had the front door key and could come and go as we pleased. Thank you.

The night staff person was amicable and helpful. He checked me in, provided me with helpful information about the locale and travel and provided me a complimentary power socket convertor for use as I had left mine in Turkey. I stayed in room 24 which was one of the attic rooms. I believe the hotel has between 23 and 26 rooms available. The hotel is the sort of slightly upgraded hostel type that is located all over Europe. It is a normal townhome type building located in a city block. it is not free standing and is entirely vertical. Due to the age of the building I doubt there is any way to add an elevator so if you have heavy or large luggage you may have difficulty going up and down the narrow stairs. However if you have light luggage or backpacks it is no trouble at all. The only real separation between a nice hostel and this hotel was the single, reasonably large room and personal bathroom facilities. However, given that it is priced closely to the "higher end" hostels it is quite worth the price for a personal room and bathroom. The room was clean if a bit dated and overlooked the city. The internet was free, wireless, and fairly responsive which I consider quite a perk in Europe. The linens and towels were clean and well prepared but some of the towels were more of an off white an a white from age and laundering; this fact did not bother me in the slightest, I merely used them as floormats. There was a desk, small refrigerator, television, and plenty of power outlets available. The sink and toilet were quite close in my room; but the bathroom was a good size overall. The room is only serviced upon request while you stay which I appreciated but it should be of note to others if they wish their room serviced daily. It is located minutes from Rembrandt Square and right in front of the 9 and 14 tram lines which lead all over town as well as back tot he central station where you can catch another affordable train to the airport. It took me apprxoimately 20 minut

Good hotel for the price and easily accessible both by walking and the tram. Friendly staff.

If you don't mind walking a little this hotel is perfect and the staff is very helpful. Be mindful that you have a key to come and go and the staff never enters your room while you are there. Smoking is allowed (all substances) and it may affect your stay, but our room didn't have much of a smell and it's right across the street from the zoo!

Попался номер на крыше, кроме крыш и труб не было ничего видно. Душ расположен под углом крыши и каким образом его принимать остается только фантазировать.........

Deux jour et une nuit pour une première fois à Amsterdam. Vraiment sympa, le patron parle couramment français et nous a donné toutes les infos nécessaires afin de découvrir la ville. L'hôtel est à deux pas du centre. Le seul bémol reste que les chambres donnent sur une rue assez fréquentée un peu bruyante (mais pas trop, non plus), mais bon avec la fatigue nous n'avons pas eu à nous plaindre de manque de sommeil. Idéal pour les jeunes fauchés que nous sommes.

Cet hôtel aux escaliers étroits nous a séduit par son rapport qualité/prix. Il est idéal pour les petits budgets, et pour les jeunes couples qui ne cherchent pas le luxe. Le centre est à 10 minutes à pieds. Le personnel de l'hôtel est discret, courtois et très serviable. Attentions aux gros bagages dans les escaliers, et à la tête pour les plus grands. Info pour les intéressés : - la réception est au premier étage, - prévoir un peu de monnaie pour régler la taxe de séjour - les cloisons ne sont pas épaisses, pensez aux voisin ;)

du er i fre og ro tra betjening når du spør om noe får hjelp med en gang lukter godt i gangene så har dem røyke rom må bet lokal tax til hotelet når du ankommer ca 17 euro det er verdt det

Hvis man kan undvære det daglige varme bad og ikke er støjfølsom er dette et udemærket hotel. Rengøring under vores ophold skete kun ved henvendelse i receptionen. Men som udgangspunkt var vores værelse pænt rent og dejlig stort. Ligger på en sporvognsgade hvilket giver meget larm og værelserne er ikke lydisolerede. Skønt med de mange cafeer og restaurenter i lokalområdet. Hotellet ligger i gå afstand til centrum. Og det er nemt at komme rundt fra dette område.

The hotel is bit old, but they maintained it excellently. You won't find any hotel in Amsterdam with such a low rate, great condition, and great location. It's not in the middle of Dam or Leidseplein but still in centrum. So, it's close to everywhere but very quiet in the night. I'm sure I'll stay this hotel on my next visit to Amsterdam.

Vi var to personer der var på Hotel Plantage i sommeren 2011. Vi var i det store hele rigtig godt tilfreds med værelset og den høflige betjening. Vi fik skiftet køleskabet ud da det ikke virkede optimalt, men forvent ikke at det er dansk standart, det er lille og køler ikke super godt. Hotellet ligger rigtig godt i Amsterdam, med sporvogn lige uden for døren og en rolig atmosfærer i kvateret. Der er ligeledes roligt om natten når sporvognen stopper ved 12 tiden. Der ligger en hyggelig cafe under hotellet hvor man kan få morgenmad til en rimelig pris, men vil anbefale bageren på den anden side af krydset, hvor du kan få noget dejligt groft brød og sammen med lidt pålæg fra supermarkedet er det den mest solide og billigeste start på morgenen. Vi vil ligeledes anbefale at tage lidt Nescafe og en lille el-kedel med, da kaffe i holland ikke smager som her hjemme, det er små kopper som smager af sød espresso:) Hvis du ikke forventer et 4 stjernet hotel, men et godt stort hotelværelse til en billig penge, vil vi anbefale Plantage med et stort smil:)

Lyhyet kävelymatkat kaikkialle ja ratikalla pääsee suoraan hotellin edestä keskusrautatieasemalle + saimme huoneen ennen varsinaista huoneen luovutusaikaa + huone oli melko iso + parveke - isoista ikkunoista veti eli huoneessa oli melko kylmä nukkua - huonetta ei siivottu kertaakaan 4 vrk aikana - äänieristystä ei ole, joten varaa mukaasi korvatulpat - ulko-ovelta alkaa todella jyrkät ja kapeat rappuset eli ei sovellu huonokuntoisille - huone oli hieman nuhjuinen ja kaipaisi uudistusta

Obwohl zur Straße gelegen war das Zimmer erstaunlich ruhig (Wochenende). Die Dusche ist für größere Menschen etwas beengt wegen der Dachschräge. Ein Schrank fehlt aber ein Kühlschrank ist vorhanden. Die Treppen sind steil, ein Rucksack als Gepäckstück ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Tram Linie 9 vom Hauptbahnhof hält fast direkt vor dem Haus (100m). Ansonsten sind alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Grachtenviertel auch Fußläufig zu erreichen. Gut an Regentagen ...... es befinden sich diverse Museen in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft.

Vi boede en uge på 3. sal. Der er ikke elevator, men en meget stejl trappe, der kan være et problem med en tung kuffert. Hotellet er rent og pænt og servicen rimelig. Beliggenheden er fin, tæt ved Zoo, botanisk have etc. Det tager 10 min. med sporvogn til centrum

Ihan ok perushotelli, kävelymatkan päässä keskustasta. Ratikalla pääsee keskustaan kätevästi, jos ei jaksa kävellä. Aamupala ei kuulunut hintaan, mutta sitä voi nauttia alakerran kahvilassa maksua vastaan. Henkilökunta oli ok. Ainoa huono puoli oli suihku, josta tuli vain kuumaa vettä. Tokihan hotelli on vahna ja suht vaatimaton, mutta se oli tiedossa jo ennen sinne menoa.

O hotel fica em um excelente bairro, algumas estações do centro (linha 9 do Tram). Confesso que esperava um pouco mais do hotel, mas no geral foi satisfatório. Ponto ruim: fedor de cigarro nos quartos, banheiro sem box (tomar banho = alagar todo o banheiro) Ponto forte: localização + Sr. Nicolai (acredito ser o dono), mto simpático e nos ajudou muito.

We had an excellent stay in hotel Plantage. Very nice, cozy hotel in very nice neighbourhood. We were very pleased that hotel was not located right in the city centre, but still very easily accessible by tram. The gentleman in reception was very helpful and polite. Only thing that a bit bothered us were thin walls as we had quite nosy neighbours...

The hotel is nicely located near Amster Zoo. The transportation from Central Station is easy by tram. The hotel itself could be nice if was not so old and poorly thought-out, the rooms definitly need renovation. We booked small attic room. Furniture in the room was quite random with no wardrobe or even no hangers. There were also no shelfs to put your clothes. Only 4 rags at one of the walls. Bathroom was in the lower part of the room unther the roof slope. It was absolutely unconfortable for my husband as he is quite tall. Staff was friendly but not helpfull at all. We wanted to print out train e-ticket at reception but were not allowed to do it. Overall: hotel is suitable for 1-2 nights if you dont want to spend much, but want to live almost in the city center. If you prefer comfort choose another hotel.

For prisen man betaler er dette definitivt et bra hotell. Fikk et romslig loftrom. Lite bad, men det gjorde ingenting. Kjøleskap på rommet. Enkelt å komme seg omkring: Ligger nært det meste, og rett attmed et trikkestopp (linje 9) og relativt nært Waterlooplein hvor metroen er. Kunne komme å gå som vi ville og folk røkte hva de ville på rommene sine (såfremt de hadde røykerom). Resepsjonisten var litt sær, men var hyggelig og hjelpsom.
