Hotel Selene - روما

Everything about the Hotel Selene was fabulous, except for the uncomfortable bed, which was like a box with no padding--the floor would have been equally comfortable. Staff wonderful, location, complimentary breakfast--everything else just great.

we stayed in a room for 3, the room was quite spacy but 3rd person had to sleep in something like bed. in room temperature was fine and bathroom was excellent! breakfast was ok. recommended

a nice cosy hotel. room is clean, breakfast is good, staff are friendly. pillow a bit soft for me, and wifi signal was instable in my room, get d/c quite often. overall still a good hotel to stay for its location and price!

First I would like to start off with the shuttle reservation that I had made with the Hotel Selene was a complete mess. I had specifically explained to the hotel that we needed a vehicle that would accomodate 4 people who each had a regular sized luggage, a carry-on and a purse. Hotel Selene picked us up in a regular four door sedan. We had spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how we are going to get all our luggage in that unsuitable car. We finally had that sorted out and squeezed everything, including ourselves in the 4 door mercedes. Upon our arrival at Hotel Selene, we were greeted by Lorenzo, a seriously rude, ill-tempered, ill-mannered, and unpresentable receptionist. Our encounter with Lorenzo truly dampned our feeling towards Hotel Selene. However, the other receptionists and other staff were very delightful. The hotel entrance is unattractive and old. There is no lobby. NOTE: THIS HOTEL IS SHARED WITH ANOTHER HOTEL and also contains actual residents. The breakfast was horrible. The quality of the food was poor and wasn't fresh. The breakfast room is so small that you could only whisper if you didn't want everyone to hear your conversation. You also need a key to enter your hallway in which your room is in, which is truly a pain, especially if you're traveling with others. Like if I wanted to go to my friends room, I would have to call them first so they can open the hallway door for me. My key didn't work on their hallway door. It was such an inconvenience. The rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was in a quite area, located buy the Coliseum and the Terminal. Lorenzo made this Hotel 10 times worse than it truly was. He truly left a sour taste in our mouth. I would not come back to this hotel as there are other more attractive and more accomodating hotels in that area.

Great location for sight-seeing(in oldest section of the city). Lots of resturants, banks, and shopping close by. Beautiful Piazza de Repubblica two blocks away. Most well known Roman Ruins in walking distance or short cab ride. The continental breakfast is a must have. Staff is very helpful, and our room was very nice(on same floor as the breakfast, 3rd). Our only complaint is the lack of an English news tv chnnel. But in Rome, who could really care?

Overall the hotel was good, especially for the price. Its in a great location and is very convenient to public transportation (Central train station, metro and buses) and for site seeing. The neighborhood is safe. You can take the train in from the airport to Stazione Termini and then walk to the hotel. The rooms were quiet, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was decent. The only negative thing was that the hotel staff is not that helpful but they were nice.

Hotel Selene was a decent hotel. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was tasty. The beds were comfortable enough, but definitely not the most comfortable bed in a hotel I've experienced. The one thing that would make me book a different hotel if I returned to Rome would be the location. It was convenient being so close to the train station, but our favorite place to be in the evenings was near the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, so it would have been great to be in that neighborhood instead.

Good value for money, convenient location. In need of rennovation, overall good standard. Slightly disorganised in storing suitcases before and after formal check in but problems were resolved.

this is not a 4 * hotel - it is a 3 star hotel only - if I would have known that I would have booked another hotel for a cheaper price.

when we arrived to the hotel i was nervus to hear terrible drilling and see the poor entrance of the hotel. BUT i had a nice surprise when i entered the huge room we got which was beautiful! and because it's walls are padded, you didn't hear any of the drilling or the outside noise. the bathroom with bath-tub was large as well. the only thing i felt needed changing was the fact the room was too dark. the beautiful drapes didnt let much sun in and the lamps gave very little light. breakfast was the same as any other hotel i'v been to in Italy, apart from the fact this time i paid a lot more for the room from any other hotel in Italy. but hey, thats Rome... overall i recommend this hotel

Had a nice stay. Initially thought it looked a bit dodgy but was pleasantly suprised. Just next to Termini station which was very convenient.

when we reached the 7x7 reception, it seemed as from a horror movie... the building is shared with 2 other hotels which makes it not very private. The room was barely up to par. The restroom was clean. The only positive aspect here was the location, a couple of blocks away form termini, so ok if just for one night before an important train, otherwise not recommended.

Under renovation, front desk is in a temporary location that is confusing and gives a glimpse of what is to come. Room is very tired, depressing and in need of a facelift. Feels a little institutional. No air conditioning meant window was open at night letting in the street noise. With so many nice places, would not do this again ... Makes you wish you spent more to get more.

We were at Hotel Selene for 4 nights in August. The front desk employees were very friendly and always helpful, except for suggesting Green Line Tours (Vastours). Don't use them - check trip advisor! The cleaning staff and breakfast staff weren't as friendly, but we had no reasons to deal with them so it wasn't an issue. The breakfast is not a lot to North Americans standards, but well beyond Italian standard (coffee and pastry). Theirs included cooked and boiled eggs, cold cuts and cheeses, toast, pastry, fruit salad, yogurt and juices. It was exactly the same every day which got tedious. The rooms were clean and basic, the shower was small and I imagine the door wouldn't close if you happen to be on the hefty side. Washcloths typically aren't included in Italy, so bring your own. The location was very convenient to Termini and Trevi Fountain, and only a 6€ taxi to and from the Colleseum. Take the metro for 1€, very clean and new looking. The neighborhood itself reminded me of touristy areas of Latin America, filled with overpriced restaurants selling American style food and lots of tacky souvenir shops. Don't get lost on the streets behind termini at night, a bit scary there.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. My wife and I were looking for a central hotel so we could easily travel around the city and see as much as possible in our 2.5 days, and Hotel Selene helped us do exactly this. The rooms were clean and although a little old, they still had Italian charm and were fun to stay in. The complimentary breakfast was fine. The purpose of our trip was to have a fun time exploring the city, so we weren't looking for the most expensive or fancy restaurant, just some place where we could have AC (since we were there in the middle of summer - HOT), a comfortable bed to sleep on, a free breakfast, and to be close to as much as possible. The hotel worked perfectly for us in this regard. It was also nice to receive a free map of the city on check-in that was extremely easy to use - we couldn't have made it without it. The only complaint was prior to check-in. The building is home to three hotels, of which Hotel Selene is one. However, we were confused about where to check in. Since Hotel Selene starts on the 4th floor, we decided to head up to check in. Unfortunately, the elevator was not working, so we had to climb up 4 long flights of stairs with our luggage. The stairwell was not air-conditioned and my wife and I were completely soaked in sweat by the time we reached the top Once at the top, we buzzed the intercom and learned that check-in was actually next to the Hotel entrance on the street level, so it was back down the stairs to check in before having to hike up the stairs again. It would have been nice to know where the lobby was from the start. But besides that we enjoyed our stay and while we definitely wouldn't go out of our way to make sure we stay at Hotel Selene again when we visit Rome, we wouldn't be disappointed if we stayed there again either.

The location of the hotel is not very central. It takes 20-25 min to walk to the Colosseum, about the same time to the Trevi fountain, about 15 min to Barberini. However, it is very close to Termini stationm where you can take both lined of the subway. Also very close to Piazza Repubblica where you can take line A. In addition, there're lots of buses. So if you plan on using public transportation, then the location is fine. But walking can be too long, especially because there are hills in Rome. The room was very small, and the bathroom was also very small. There is no bathtub, only shower, and the space in the shower is really tiny. No storage / shelves in the bathroom to put your stuff. The only advantage is the AC, which you can control from your room. In addition, there is WiFi, but you have to pay for it (6 hrs for 10 euros or 2 hrs for 5 euros). The hotel was reasonable clean. The breakfast does not offer much variety. There are boiled eggs, one sort of cereals, one sort of granola, several varieties of yogurts, no freshly squeezed juice (sweet juice is available). Only white bread, no multigrain. Some pastries. The coffee is ok, it's from a machine. Overall not very pleased, especially because the location wasn't very central. I'd preferred somewhere near Piazza Navona or the Pantheon, but the prices there are much higher.

The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast is pretty good also. They serve cereals, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, yogurt, eggs, etc. The hotel is 5 min away from the Termini Station, so disregard the taxi drivers that offer to take you to the hotel for 40 euros... The staff is not the friendliest one, but not rude either. We were on a tour of Italy, and the receptionists were much nicer in Venice and Milan. The internet is fast and reliable, it worked well in my room, but I saw few other guests with their laptops in the breakfast room, where the signal is supposed to be the strongest, and I assumed that they didn't get a good signal in the room. Overall, the hotel is not bad at all, I would stay there again.

This hotel is convienetly located in the center of the city near Termini station. THe layout is a little confusing, especially for Americans, as the front desk is located at street level in a storefront. The staff was helpful but I was disappointed to find out that you pay per person and not for the room. i had booked a single room for me and my girlfriend thinking we could squeeze only to have my expenses doubled when I showed up! WiFi is also not free, a disappointment. The room was clean with a Victorian theme to it and came with most necessary amenities. The shower, however, was terrible, as there was no way to place it above your head. It came on a detachable hose you were expected to hold as you showered - not fun. Breakfast was included and was one of the better I have had in Europe. I'd recommend the hotel, just be aware of the aforementioned constraints.

The location is good in terms of location. It is near the railway and metro, about 3minutes walk. There are restaurants nearby as well. Basic breakfast, nothing much to rave about.

L'hôtel Selene est a proximité de la gare Termini, et donc de tous les arrets de bus. L'hôtel est très confortable, le petit dejeuner est complet, c'est un excellent rapport qualité prix pour un séjour à Rome.

Kanon hotel til en storbysferie. Lille, hyggeligt og tag på storbysferie... pas dig selv og oplev, men ikke helt. Du får al den service du ønsker. Dejlig morgenmad, oplysninger, information og venlighed. Hvis du har brug, men du skal selv bede om den...

l'hotel est situé dans une zone interdite à la circulation des véhicules de tourisme. Ne comprenant pas italien, nous sommes entré avec notre voiture dans cette zone vidéosurveillée ! Nous aurions aimé être prévenus sur la page de présentation de l'hôtel et sur le mail de confirmation de réservation. Nous avons une amande de 70 euros que nous aurions pu éviter. La nuit revient cher !! Les deux réceptionnistes ont étés désagréables lorsque nous leur avons demandé des indications à ce sujet. Il est dit dans le Lonely Planet que les clients d’hôtels peuvent avoir une autorisation si l’hôtelier faxe les coordonnées du véhicule à la police locale. L’hôtel a refusé de le faire pour nous.

Ett för pengarna mycket bra hotell. Helt ok frukost. Bra läge med gångavstånd till det mesta man vill se i Rom. Nära till Repubblica Metro och ett stenkast från via Nazionale. Inte långt till den mysiga stadsdelen Monti.

La habitación un poco oscura la única ventana daba a un patio interior.

Hotellet ligger endast 5 min gångväg från tågcentralen. Trevlig personal och frukosten var helt okej även med svenska mått mätt. Sängarna lite väl hårda kanske men annars var allt toppen!

Rent och snyggt. Jättebra läge. Hyfsad frukost. Hotellet har ingen egen parkering men vi hade tur och hittade en betalparkering som inte alls var så dyr, precis mitt emot hotellet.

Vi var ute etter et hotell nær jernbanestasjonen, og det tok bare noen minutter å gå til hotell Selene. Det ver lett å finne, og vi fikk en hyggelig mottagelse i resepsjonen som merkelig nok lå ved siden av oppgangen. Det var enkelt å finne buss og trikk, og flere attraksjoner innen gårekkevidde. Frokostrommet var lite, men koselig, og vi var meget fornøyd med maten. Utvalget var bedre enn på andre hoteller vi besøkte i Italia.

hotel tres bien placé du centre, proche du métro, gare, luxueux. chambre agréable, dommage qu'à la reception les deux hommes, bien moins sympathiques que le reste, pas complaisant du tout, aucun effort pour se faire comprendre, ils refroidissent la clientèle

Hotellet har bra läge nära centralstationen. Gångavstånd till sevärdheterna colosseum, fontana de trevi och vatikanen. Rummet vi fick var ganska litet men helt okej. Det var bra städning och badrummet var fräscht.

Allt perfekt, det enda att anmärka på var deras hårda sängar annars var allt perfekt, frukostbuffé med mycket att välja på, rent och prydligt, tyst kvarter, bra personal, engelsktalande

Pienehköt mutta hyvin varustetut huoneet, satelliitti-TV, jääkaappi, äänieristetyt huoneet - ei todellakaan mitään ääniä ulkoa tai muualta hotellista, pienehkö mutta toimiva kylpyhuone suihkukaappeineen, riittävän runsas aamiasnoutopöytä, hyvin ystävällinen vastaanotto. Hinta/laatusuhde erinomainen. Ympäristö päärautatieaseman lähellä hieman nuhruinen, mutta keskellä yötäkin täysin turvallinen.

Hotel Selene couldn't be better located: 2 minutes walk from the main bus/train-station "Termini", and the same distance to either "Via Cavour" or "Via Nationale", two long shoppingstreets which leads you straight to a host of sights and more shoppingstreets like Via Del Corso and its sidestreets. We were 5 full days in Rome, and didn't ride a bus or metro one single time! Everything is within walking distance from the hotel. The building is a typical old, somewhat downtrodden inner city block. But the reception, service and room itself are all top notch! The breakfast is in a room furnished like a livingroom, and was perfect too. We had the best possible first-trip to Rome, and will definately go there again sometime!

受付が独立したお店のようになっており、 そこから自分の部屋に行くのですが、遅い時間に着くと、すでにロックされてるドアが多く苦労します。 それから、旧式のテレビは結局つきませんでした。 金額と利便性重視であれば利用できますが、・・・。

El trato del personal fue muy amable, la habitación amplia y confortable, el desayuno correcto. La única cosa que choca es que la recepción y el hotel no están juntos, las habitaciones están en la tercera y cuarta planta del edificio contiguo. La entrada al edificio del hotel es un poco dejada, pero si superas este primer impacto, después el espacio de habitaciones es el adecuado a la categoría.

Mycket prisvärt Hotel med ett supert läge, gångavstånd till det mesta. Trots sitt centrala läge, var det dessutom mycket tyst och stillstamst på Hotellet. Entren motsvarar inte helheltenintyrcket, men när man väl kommer till rummen , blir man glatt överraskad.Frukosten var väl inte super bra, men det fungerade, det var det ända vi inte var hlet nöjda med

Pris: litt høy ift. standar, men det var en gjenganger på alle hotellene i Roma. Men ellers så var dette en fin base på våres opphold i Roma, vi hadde en kjempe fin uke i en fantastisk serverdig by. Men det er generelt mye eledig å se i byen...fattigdom og søppel.

Convience location, few minutes walk from the Termini station. The entrance is not attractive and may get confused since he hotel is started on the forth floor of the building which sharing with some other hotels underneath, where the reception is in the left side of the building's entrance, seperated apart from the hotel. The room was clean, size was bigger than my expected. There was even one extra bench sofa, big and comfort enough for a good sleep. The bathroom with bathtub was large as well. Some says the room was a bit dark at daytime but for me I just stay for the night so it was fine. The breakfast was in a good standard compared with others. Their included boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts and fruit salad, rather than just coffee, toast and pastry. Overall, the hotel was good, I would stay there again. Besides, the staffs of the hotels.com was really helpful. When I enquired to make sure whether the breakfast was included, they called and confirmed directly from the hotel front desk, replied me with the contact name. I would recomend their service.

Nära tågstationen, rummen helt okej. mycket god frukost.

Mycket bra hotell på alla sätt och vis. Vi var där en vecka i augusti 2010 och kunde nog inte tänka oss något mer prisvärt. Rent, tyst, lugnt, god sömn. MYCKET bra frukostbuffe med många olika tillval. Men kaffet! Aj aj Italia... Kaffeautomat typ skolmodell högstadiet. Åtminstonde bryggkaffe. Ser fram emot ett återbesök.
