CUMBERLAND INN AND SUITES - كومبرلاند

The room smelled very musky so we had to go and buy a candle. There were stains on the bed and the TV was an old tube television and the tube was going out. The TV color was very yellow. They did have free wifi, which was nice and the lady behind the desk offered to borrow me a belt since I forgot mine, very thoughtful.

Staff was very friendly. We were there for hockey tournament & they allowed the team to use the common's area for our potluck. Will stay there again if we are ever over there for hockey again. (Which I'm sure we will be)

I stayed for a quick overnight in advance of the Birkebeiner ski race in Hawyard, roughly an hour north. My room was simple and clean, which more or less sums up the entire hotel. I left before the complimentary breakfast started at 7 so I can't comment on that, but I did grab coffee and use the hot water dispenser to make instant oatmeal. They had a decently large selection of cable TV channels and free WiFi, both of which I used. There is a pool and hot tub, which I didn't use but they seemed clean and adequate. The view from my window wasn't much, but there was a blanket of fresh snow that made even the pole shed look beautiful.

There are not many choices of hotels in Cumberland. This hotel is adequate at best. Terrible pillows, two towles in a room with four guests, maid service at 6:00PM and the most overpriced room I have ever encountered. This cost twice as much as I have paid for similar rooms in the past. Will do if you want to stay in town, but be prepared for the high price.

This hotel was clean and we were comfortable in our room. However, there was an extreme sense of stinginess to the place ... 1> We were charged about 15% more than our reservation had promised; 2> the room was freezing when we entered (even though we'd had a reservation for almost a week ahead of time: how tough to warm it up for an hour or two before we arrived?); 3> half the lights in the hallway were shut down, giving the place a gloomy look; 4> most of the keycard entrances were disabled, leaving only the main entrance through which we could enter and exit; 5> nobody shoveled any of the walkways after it snowed that night, making checkout even more fun 6> worst of all, a sticker was plastered to the garbage can in the bathroom with the name of the hotel on it ... making sure we couldn't steal it. Okay number 6 is just silly, but it did provide the finishing touch of "the penurious" to the whole thing. On the good side, it was clean ... even the bathroom floor corners ... the water warmed up well, shower drained properly and the fridge worked as it was designed to. Didn't try the ice machine, but the stupid soda dispenser ONLY gave out one type of product and did not return money. So, we wouldn't recommend the place and will most likely not go back ourselves ... unless, of course, we need to be in Cumberland and that's the only place available.

A TYPICAL motel with clean rooms. Aplace to lay your head and get a good nite sleep without being disturbed

This place is a good value in accommodation for a busy resort area during the tourist season.
