The North Garden Hotel - بكين

I choose the North Garden Hotel for it's location in the centre of the main attractions. At a reasonable price it was exactly that, perfect location to walk to Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square etc. The hotel itself was good but the carpets could do with a bit of a clean up, especially as we were in an Executive Business room. As we were there to see the sights the location was the most import thing. I would recogmend this hotel to anybody who wants to be central at a reasonable price.

The hotel is in an excellent location right next to subway station and Oriental Plaza. What let's the hotel down is the customer service. Very slow and not many staff speak English. Based on the location, I would stay again.

We stayed in North Garden hotel for 5 days in early Apr 2012 and booked two adjacent non smoking rooms at hotels.com. Location We traveled there by cab. We gave the cab driver the chinese hotel name and address and indicated that the hotel is at the start of Wangfujin (which is a very long road) nearer the ChangAn East Rd. The driver had difficulty locating the place which is actually not directly on Wangfujin but at one of the side road, The hotel is at the block behind the Wangfujin Bookstore situated at the start of the pedestrian strip. The location is very close to the food street which is just less than 5 minutes away down the pedestrian walk and the Night Market is a few more minutes down the row. The nearest subway station Wangfujin is inside the oriental shopping mall. Walking directions: After exiting North Garden hotel, turn left, walk towards the bookstore and turn left to the Oriental Mall. Look for the nearest mall entrance not the office block entrance and follow the signs to the subway station. When we knew that we will need to be changing trains, we preferred to walk from our hotel directly to the Dongdan Station which is at the other end of the Oriental Plaza instead of walking the underground link to the subway as we felt it was less of a hassle walking on flat land and less of a crowd. Walking directions: turn right from the hotel exit past the police station which is right next door, till you see the driveway to the Grand Hyatt Beijing hotel, cut diagonally across to the other end of the Oriental Plaza to access the ChangAn East entrance to Dongdan Stn) . Room We checked in at 12.30pm to be informed that only one of the room is available as the other is still undergoing housekeeping and it would only be ready an hour later. We stayed at the 9th floor which is the only non smoking level. The level is quiet despite being situated in the bustling Wangfujing area. I rate a perfect 5 star for the location. It's not on the main road but very close to the underground station. 4 star for cleanliness (for Beijing standard), and 3.5 star for maintenance because we had problems with a blocked toilet, changing room, then a toilet chain broken...but all these were sorted out very quickly. The only thing is because I am Chinese (but I can't speak Mandarin), the hotel reception staffs are quite relunctant to speak to me in English, occasionally a bit rude. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

I will stay back this hotel if back to Beijing again. Subway is very near, around 5min+. Near to shopping area too.

The hotel is conveniently located next to WangFuJing metro station. Major shopping centres and restaurants are located within 5 minutes walk. One point to note is the bed is very hard/ firm. If you are fussy over the hard/ firm bed, you may want to reconsider booking this hotel.

I was by myself in Beijing for 2 nights, terrified at first. But to stay at a good hotel made all de difference: it is clean, the staff very helpful, the location can't be better. Make sure you have the hotels telefone number on your arrival, so the taxi driver can talk to them, they speak no english at all and the map in hotels.com didn't help. This hotel is located right next to nice shopping, the subway (line 1) and many other interesting spots. After reading the comments on other hotels in the area, I am really happy I chose this one.

First: This is not a Western Hotel. Few employees speak any English but they are all friendly and aim to please. The Business center was very helpful with getting train tickets (which can be a nightmare). The rooms were clean, internet ready(LAN), although the carpets could be updated. Safe and central if you do not mind a hard/firm China style bed. Not a family style hotel. Nice breakfast in the morning. Lots to do as soon as you walk out the door. Minutes walk to T'min Sq and Forbidden City. Night Market 5 minutes out the door.

This hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the subway. There was a macdonalds obliquely opposite to the left of the hotel and a traditional chinese dumpling breakfast restaurant obliquely opposite to the right of it. The forbidden city and Qianmen Market (a must see) are just a couple stops away on the subway line. The mattress on the bed however, was as firm as a plank of wood.

Location - not all locals can give your directions - it just off of a short main street and not well know. But very near the subway and center-of-town sites. Great staff. Friendly and good English. Clean enough. New enough. Great price.

The North Garden Hotel in Beijing is an ideal hotel for a visit to Beijing. It is near the Forbidden City, shopping malls, and subway. The hotel resturants are good: one is western and the other is chinese. The only improvement would be to shampoo-clean the carpet in the room. It appeared to be dirty.

This hotel is in an excellent location - steps away from the Oriental Plaza mall, wafujing shopping street, and a short walk (~ 1 block) to the subway. Good: The rooms are spacious enough. We had two guys staying in the cheap rooms... The breakfast buffet was good. The hotel is very clean, and the staff at the front desk speak just enough english to get by. The rooms were always cleaned and made up. If you have traveled in Europe, this hotel will be nicer than most! Bad: The beds are extremely hard and not very comfortable, also I did adjust to them as I was there for 2 weeks! They also charged me 10 yuan to clean a towel that was dirty (kind of silly I though... resulting in a charge of about $1.50 on my credit card... hardly worth it in my eyes) Tip - Ask the door man to get you a taxi as they cannot pick you up on the street outside of the hotel! Get your water across the street the the little cart, or in the grocery store on the bottom level of Oriental Plaza. The 40 yuan for a bottle in the hotel is about 10x what it should be.

I just returned from Beijing, China after a nine night stay at the wonderful North Garden Hotel!! This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The North Garden is in an excellent location in the Wangfujing shopping and restaurant area. The reception was very pleasant and cordial. Since I was staying nine nights they even upgraded me to Business Class. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was firm which is what I like. The bathroom was stocked with many toiletry items. The shower water pressure was good and had excellent hot water. The hotel is centrally located, near many shops and restaurants. The subway stop was only a few minutes away in the Oriental Plaza mall. Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden Palace is a short distance away and is easily accessible with only one subway stop or about a 5 to 10 minute walk. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and clean hotel to stay in the heart of Beijing! I will definitely be coming back on my next trip to Beijing. (FYI: The only problem I had was finding the hotel. It's not directly on the Wangfujing but was actually on an off street. It's behind the huge Wangfujing Bookstore and next to the Oriental Plaza).

Bel hôtel tout comfort et surtout idéalement bien placé en plein centre, proche station métro, cité interdite, rue pietonne, marchés de nuit...

Dyrt område men veldig bra beliggenhet. Sengene er veldig harde og airconditionene var veldig dårlige. Fint hotell med hyggelige og behjelplige ansatte.

Ok hotel utan något extra. Bra läge, nära till t-bana, shopping och sevärdheter. Wifi i foajén. Saknade wifi på rummen och hotellet stänger ner wifi efter kl23. Dyr frukost som vi inte nyttjade. Gott om bra matställen runtomkring.

Väldigt hårda sängar!! Inget speciellt. Inga problem men heller inte någon hotellupplevelse.

Cet hôtel est très bien situé, à 2 pas de la station de métro de Wanfujing, sur la ligne qui dessert les lieux touristiques importants et dans un quartier animé et agréable. Malheureusement l'hôtel n'est pas propre, les murs et les moquettes sont immaculés de tâche, la poussière n'avait pas été faite dans notre chambre à notre arrivée, le personnel ne parle presque pas Anglais, et n'est ni accueillant ni serviable. Le kit de toilette était quasiment absent: 2 brosses à dent, et un petit savon pour les 4 nuits que nous avons passées dans cet hôtel, l'eau n'était chaude qu'après l'avoir laissée couler 5 longues minutes... Quant au buffet du petit déjeuner, il est d'une qualité bien médiocre, eau chaude à disposition mais pas de sachet de thé, ni de café en libre service. La femme de ménage frappe à la porte tous les matins à 9.00 pour faire la chambre. Je ne conseille absolument pas cet hôtel, et n'y retournerai pas.

The Hotel is located 50 meters from the main shopping street. We (three adults and one child of 2.5 years ) stayed 10 days and had a very good stay. The location is very good and the hotel as well. The staff was very helpfull however lacking a little bit of english. The tours that they sell in the hotel seems very overpriced compared to what find other places. We bought a guided tour to the great wall for 300 yuan at the exit of the forbidden city. In the hotel they wanted 300 per person or something like that. To go to the airport they wanted 400 yuan and we only paid 150 yuan for a english style taxi.

Väldigt bra belägenhet alldeles vid huvudgågatan. Fruckosten är helt inriktad på kinesiska gäster .Väldigt litet urval för västerlänningar .Personalens engelskkunnskaper varierar stort !!Jag vägrades äta fruckost eftersom "breakfast was not included" .De fattade inte att jag kunde signera notan med mitt rumsnummer .Stor palaver ! Har hänt mig tidigare i Kina men för 30 år sedan !!

udmærket hotel til prisen. Virker lige som alt andet i Kina hurtigt slidt. billeder svarer ikke helt til det man får ( bla. ingen billard). svært at få taxa i området, med mindre man vil betale overpris (sort taxa). dejligt tæt på Metro station.
