The nearby street markets and Chinese art shops make this one of the most authentically Asian areas. The hotel is close to all major attractions and transport, but it's the atmosphere that makes it special.

Overall very good. The treadmills in the fitness room need maintenance.

Location great,rooms nice,small,but our main luggage at airport. Checked out Delux rooms with a bath and would like that for a longer stay .Staff fantastic ,breeze room on 4th floor lovely for wifi and coffee,very tropical.Taxi service cheap and very efficient ,on arrival it will cost you about 30 HK $ (about $3.00 Aus). Fantastic location. Love to return for longer

The area is great for restaurants, bars and shopping. It's also easy to walk to Central from here. The bathrooms could do with updating and the staff could be a bit friendlier, but the main problem I had was the outdated approach to internet. Having to pay for internet in my room is not something I've come across for a long time, and the free access in public areas was rubbish using mobile devices.

We had a great four-night stay at the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel. The location is superb, on Hong Kong Island near the old Chinese area. It's close to markets, dozens of restaurants, shopping, antiquing on Hollywood Road, the mid-levels escalator, and lots of nightlife. It's a $3 cab ride from the Airport Express station. There's free wifi, coffee, tea and water on the comfortable outdoor lounge. The room was smallish but very clean and comfortable. We found the staff friendly and helpful.

Exceptionally helpful staff

We had a hard time finding the enterance. Nice 4 th floor complementary coffee, water and wifi area. Room small but very combat with everything you need. Could walk to a lot of restaurants and shops.

Walking distance to both Sheung Wan and Central MTR stations as well as Lan Kwai Fong and the Mid-Levels Escalator. Also nearby is a Pacific Coffee, Man Mo Temple, and the Cat Street markets. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Yes it is small, a little shocking at first if you haven't been to Hong Kong before, but it is Hong Kong, tight on space. Overall a great hotel for the price and I would stay here again next time I'm in town.

I have stayed in many hotels in Central but prefer this one for location as it is close enogh to walk to anything yet set back enough for a degree of solitude. Small room (avg for HK) but scale, cleanliness and service help up the satisfaction

The Lan Kwai Fong Hotel is a boutique style hotel with a minimalistic lobby used for check-in/ check-out. All the rooms & small gym are on upper floors. The decor is Asian style with a simple shower (only) and a double bed. We requested views of the Causeway Bay and received a fairly decent view blocked only by a a couple of buildings. Enough to see ships come/go and the evening lights. The staff handles English very well and provide great recommendations for area restaurants and shopping. The hotel is located on the hilly side of Hong Kong Central district so expect to be going up/ down when visiting nearby stores, etc.

The hotel was in a great location and the lobby was nice, but the room was not clean, the bathroom had gunk build up, I put my bedspread on the top of the vanity and dust and dirt flew everywhere....even the refrigerator/mini bar was not clean. No excuse for a unclean environment. Would not stay at again.

If you want to be close to the Central region then this hotel is a great location. The rooms are on the smaller side but very comfortable and the hotel staff are very helpful on all matters. I will definitely stay here again in HK.

Overall, if you're going for location, this is a fantastic place to stay. It is literally 2 mins away from the Sheung Wan stop on Hong Kong Island and within walking distance to Central, Soho and LKF. Definitely very convenient. The rooms are on the small side, but I guess that is fairly standard in HK. The decor is a little dated and scuffing in some places, but on the whole, you are getting value for money. The staff are very pleasant and definitely try their best to make your stay comfortable... overall, I would return for the location!

Nice, comfy room. Excellent location, very helpful staff. I've paid a lot more for a lot less before-- and would definitely recommend this to friends.

The rooms are small, but hey, this is downtown Hong Kong. Otherwise, they are clean and the location can't be beat. It took about 45 minutes to get from the airport to the lobby via the MTR airport express- which is about as fast and as cheap as that's gonna happen. You can be in SOHO (the giant escalator, etc) in about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Starbucks is about 3 blocks away. What more can you want. Use the Sheung Wan (island line) exit E2.

We stayed at this hotel for one night with some of our friends before we took our flight back to Canada. the hotel was easy to get to by taxi, the front desk staff were helpful and attentive and the rooms were clean. I will say the rooms were a little snug but that's Hong Kong for you. The lobby area was less than impressive but it didn't really bother us since we needed a comfortable and clean place to stay which this hotel certainly delivered on. Moresoever, the hotel was also very reasonably priced.

Hotel room was gorgeous and surprising in space for other places I have traveled in Asia. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Location is walking distance to delicious restaurants and the famous party area. 10-15 minutes walk to the metro as well.

Space is the most precious commodity in Hong Kong - so don't expect too much in the rooms of this "boutique". Nice friendly staff and great location make up for a tight squeeze if you're carrying a lot of gear.

The location is perfect If like me you like shopping and drinking. Hotel is slightly ageing and could do with a bit of a touch up in places but not bad

The hotel is located just off Hollywood Road and there are lots of shops, restaurants, bars, fresh food markets, etc., within easy walking distance. Room was nicely decorated, modern, and clean -- nice shower. Staff was courteous and prompt. There is a community room on 4th floor with hot/cold beverages and free WIFI -- a nice place to hang out.

This hotel is close to the ex-pat bars and restaurants of Lan Kwai Fong, yet it's in the heart of the local Chinese fruit and veg, meat and fish markets, which are a tourist's delight. Good value; the rooms are small but comfortable, and there are some good public areas, lounges and bar with free wifi. Definitely spend the extra few dollars for a harbour view, which from the high floors is spectacular.

Great service, accommodations and cleanness. The location is excellent, especially for those interested in the night life of Hong Kong, close to SOHO, many bars and excellent restaurants. The hotel was a bit expensive though, but again, that is typical of Hong Kong.

This hotel has a great staff, very thoughtful and accommodating. Its location leaves something to be desired since it is not near many of the sights, but is an easy taxi ride to anything you want to see or do. I would take my family there again.

Well priced hotel very close to the centre of town and walking distance to soho and lkf. while the rooms are small, they are comfortable and nicely furnished with an asian twist. Recommend this place to anyone looking for a city hotel in HKG.

The rooms of this boutique hotel are very pretty & the staff are helpful & speak english. The hotel is very conveniently located - 5 minutes walk to the Central-Mid levels escalators, 10 minutes to Lang Kwai Fong & 15 minutes walk to the Harbour & MTR. We had a lovely 3 day stay here. The harbour view room on the 31st floor was splendid.

I feel the price i paid for this hotel is not worth the accommodation. I could have paid same price to a different hotel at would have got slightly bigger rooms and better location. Thanks, Rajat

Won't stay here again. Horribly small room for the price plus it is misleading about the internet capabilitty. Will stay at the Butterfly next time.

Hong Kong is not a cheap place to stay; I have stayed at several places in the past have determined this hotel to be a good place to stay based on price and location. All rooms are small in HK; this hotel is no different. Staff was generally very helpful and accommodating... the first day we were there, we had an issue with the bath tub draining slowly. I informed the staff and they fixed it right away and followed up to see if it had been addressed correctly. I do question why they use tubs; I think i would have liked to see a standing only shower but, not that big of a deal.

Hotel was in a good location. Great price for the area. Close to airport shuttle. Close to metro. Walking access to many restaurants. In the ex-patriot area of town, so restaurants were cuisines from many places. The big shopping markets of HK are not walkable, but are easily accessible by metro. Hotel was very clean. Plenty of hot water. Hotel staff is very courteous.

Location is great to get to LKF and Central is not far away. The rooms are bit small, but very cozy and well designed. Breakfast was good and staff are superb.

I booked this location to do some sightseeing after many years, and I can honestly say that for the price you pay, it's a great deal. The rooms are clean. The views are great. And the location is very convenient for walking. Within minutes there are great bars, restaurants, shops and the MTR stations. The only thing that one must be clear about is to ensure you are clear that you are going to Lan Kwai Fong Hotel, NOT LKF. The first taxi took us to the wrong hotel, and walking between them was quite tricky. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel.
