this , by far was the worst motel I have ever stayed at . discustiing , dirty , and they sell lighters and underwear in a vending machine . the tv remote was held on by duct tape and the a/c was a window unit . the room was so small that when I opened the door to the room it almost hit the bed . was a horriable place . its not family friendly or even close to being normal. it should be condemned .

service was bad! Check-In Clerk overcharged me at first and had a horrible attitude. The location was in a dangerous ugly looking neighborhood. The hotel reeked of sweat. Overall, this was the worst hotel I have stayed at

Just that! It was great for the price! Nothing fancy by any stretch but convenient!

I gave this hotel a 3, only because it's cheap for it's proximity to downtown Detroit. The parking lot is secured also.Beyond that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone accustomed to mid to high level accommodations.

Great place to stay before or after Tiger's games. Great Value for the dollar.

room never was cleaned while I was there for 3 days. Never..... Questionable people in and out. Should have been $29.95/night. If that much. Wow. Unbelievable. $29.95 is probably too high...... Dissapointed

Our room was adjacent to the gate for parking, thus, all night long and in the early morning, we were disturbed by the noise from the gate. We got very little sleep.

Room was nice, but at first they couldn't find reservation. It was made on hotels.com, but they found it on expidia.

I was pleasantly surprised by the good condition and cleanliness of the room for a hotel in this price range. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but the hotel has a lot of security measures in place. There is even a channel on the TV that has the live security camera feed of the parking lot so you can keep an eye on your car. I stayed there after a Red Wings game and it was nice that it is only about a mile away from Joe Louis Arena (and Cobo Hall) and easy to find. If you're all about convenience and saving money, this is the hotel for you.

Room was clean even though the hallways had a oder.

I should have suspected something when our cab driver referred to it as the crack hotel. But alas, I had already paid. While we did not feel in danger during our stay. These situations rarely scare me, I mean we were vacationing in Detroit after all. However the very poor quality p o rn was streaming in the room 24/7. Eeek. I requested it blocked to no avail. Also the internet did not work at all! The maids pretty much are clueless as to how to properly clean a room as well. Paint and decor was decent however.

This place is a bargain for anybody who isn't picky, uptight or prissy. There's a bar, convience stroe and a Burger King within walking distance and cab fare is cheap to any place downtown. The drawbacks are the hallways smell like stale cigarettes and the elevator sucks (don't get a room near it, it's loud too). The cleanliness is a sub par, but this is a place to crash, not hang out.

Myself and several friends needed a place to crash after same day Lions and Tigers world series game. Definitely served it's purpose...very close to parks and maybe 1/2 mile away from MGM where we were gambling. Not a neighborhood you'd want to take a midnight stroll through but the gated secured parking was a major bonus and gave piece of mind. Also, saved a boatload of cash vs. casino hotels! We got what we paid for here, warmth-a bathroom-room/beds seemed clean-and no visible roaches...nothing more to ask for! If your looking for a cheap, safe place to crash after gambling/games...Corktown Inn is the way to go!

When arriving for check-in, had to negotiate broken beer bottle and spilled beer in lobby. When we were finally issued a room key, upon entry we found the room had not been cleaned nor the beds made up. We immediately surrendered the room key and departed the hotel.

The only good things about this place were that every door was locked so you needed a key card to get in. There was a sweet, helpful older couple I spoke to every morning, owners maybe? Because of this couple, I tried hard to like it, but that was impossible! The walls were filthy with something (blood maybe?) on a few of the walls, as well as other dirt spots. On the back of the bathroom door, there were smudges of black dirt. There was a "private area" hair on the back of our toilet. One of our lights wouldn’t work because it wasn’t plugged in. When we moved the night stand to plug it in, we found a small bag with what looked like pot. One of our towels had a booger smeared across it. Our last night, a mouse ran across our floor. When I called the front desk, the lady called me a liar and then gave me attitude! She did, to her credit, come up and move us to the next floor up and apologized repeatedly for what happened. There were big crumbs all over the floor, so it definitely had not been vacuumed. There were NO SMOKING signs all over, yet it always smelled of smoke, and once in the elevator, a woman got in with us who was smoking. She walked to the front counter with her cigarette, and not a word was said to her. We were told our room was a non-smoking room, but found a used ashtray in it. My mother is allergic, so she coughed the whole time we were there. When we complained, they told us that it was a non-smoking room, and that they couldn't help what their guests did.

The room that I had, needed to be cleaned better. The bed spread smelled cigarette smoke. I woke up from a nice sleep, to a headache. The smell of the bed spread gave this non-smoker a headache. Most places put smokers in designated rooms and non-smokers in another. Too bad your hotel does not follow this. Clerk tells me no one is suppose to smoke in rooms, and there was a carton on the desk,,LOL...

Although the hotel was in a not so nice area it was close to Comerica park and worked for what we needed!

Bad service, remote and hot tub didnt work, free adult channels, dirty

The entire place smells like smoke. The lobby, the hallway, the room. The sheets on the bed had holes in them. The only thing the place had going for its self was the fact you can park your vehicle behind a gated lot. This place must have never been remodeled since it was built. There were no 3 prong outlets in the room except for in the bathroom which looks like they may have updated it at one point.

This may not be the hotel for everyone, but anyone can certainly stay here. It was extremely close to downtown, Motown Studios is ten minutes down the street, the bridge to Canada is ten minutes away, parking is safe and secure. Not the cleanest looking place but I would certainly stay here again.

We went to Detroit to see a baseball game and we were able to do that! The distance to the park was not bad, but more than a mile! The neighborhood was questionable at best but the hotel was clean and had gated parking so not too uncomfortable. If you are looking for a romantic stay this is probably not the place but if you are only staying a short time this hotel is feasible. However you will not find concierge more like vending and a microwave. Nice place to crash though

The Corktown Inn was not a bad place for a quick stay. The hotel is older but pretty clean. the room was cozy but for the price was not bad. We had an event at the Cobo Hall and we were able to walk there. This saved in parking fees downtown as there is a gated parking lot at the hotel. It is not the BEST of neighborhoods so we did not walk at night but during the day was ok. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful

Room was rather dirty and the personnel not too friendly, but the hotel is located in a really great area of the city (walking distance from downtown, pubs, restaurants, Greyhound station, ...), and it's quite cheap. Some really great pubs are located just around the corner in Corktown (Michigan avenue).

It was something I had to take at the last minute because of another hotel that I refused to stay at. The Regency was ok until the light went out but I could walk down the hall in the dark without being attack. The staff was very friend and helpful.

I would not have stayed there if I had my wife with me.

This was my second time at the Corktown Inn. I came back because it was ok the first time. Now, I can't say the same. Maybe they changed management because it is not as nice as it used to be. Seems more like a short term apartment building then a hotel. I was very disappointed and will not be coming back to the establishment.

Customer Service Representative was not friendly at all.Went to desk to ask for additonal towels - informed that their is no servie available after 4:00 p.m. To have options of no smoking. The entire hotel smells like nothing but smoke, even inside the rooms. No air / ventilation in the main hallways and walkways. Wrong hotel to take children / let alone adults who would just like a comfortable place to stay overnight.

I read the reviews before booking and still decided to give it a shot. The girl that checked me in at the front desk was super nice, but then things went down hill from there. I understand it was not in the best of neighborhoods, but I really did not feel that safe even inside. Again, I know this was my choice, but when I walked into my room (which smelled like smoke) I noticed hair in the bathroom and the shower. This to me is unacceptable. I then pulled back the comforter and noticed that there were yellow stains on the sheets. Thses issues along with the clientel should have told me to just find another place to stay for the night.

The staff members were very nice!!

NOT A BAD PLACE IF YOUR NOT THAT PICKY. ROOM LOOKED CLEAN, BUT THERE WAS CLEARLY A PUDDLE OF URINE ON FLOOR OF BATHROOM AND OVER ALL TOILET WAS NOT WIPED. ALSO A RANDOM PLASTIC BAG WAS ON FLOOR. IT WAS NOT AN A+ CLEANING

Last resort. I knew it would be in a bad location but all rooms at higher rated hotels were booked. You could hear phone conversations through the walls. I mean you could hear the person on the other end off the lines voice. Smelled of cigarette smoke everywhere on top of burn marks on the toilet seats.

was a little nervous given some older negative reviews, but this place was fantastic- safe parking lot you can watch on CCTV in your room, lots of vending machines selling all sorts of munchies, and the room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom good enough. would definitely stay again. Several good bars/brunch spots within a few blocks, and downtown a mile away.

Close to Comerica Park at a resonable price

It was not the most new hotel or too terribly clean in the halls but the room was good the price was good the best was comfy and the people where friendly. I really liked that the hotel had controlled access and gated parking with cameras.

It is what it is Situated on a neglected industrial area.. The room was clean and the furniture etc was good. but no a/c or opening windows in the whole place.The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a restricted secure parking compound which helped to reassure me.I was able to watch the car in the compound on the TV in the room. It is close to some well known eateries such as Joe Lewis and Slows BBQ restaurants.and a brisk walk to Downtown Detroit, although you walk through some dire areas! (Would not suggest doing this after dark). Continuous free coffee available by the front desk 24/7, but no food available in house,not even breakfast, but Burger king within sight to start the day. Sodas and snacks were available in foyer vending machines. Plus point: Cheap! Room Tip: Start at the 3rd floor!,

We stated at the corktown inn on st pattys day. The staff was friendly and the motel was in a cool area of Detroit. The cleanliness of the room was not so great. There was hair all over our toilet and the towels were wrinkled like they just picked them up from the ground and hung them back up....oh yeah and the soap in the shower had what looked like a bite taken out if it. For a "quick stay" I would recommend it for the price! Also there's a convenient vending machine offering underwear, condoms & chapstick :)

It is a Transient Hotel. The rates are very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. I didn't see anything bad while staying there. Stayed there one night to see the Blackhawks play the Redwings and it served its purpose just fine.

There is a freezer behind the ghetto glass enclosed reservation desk offering Corn Dogs for 75 cents. You won't find that at a 4 star hotel. They also have their old furniture for sale in the lobby- I almost got a table for $10 but flew on a budget airline that would have killed me with weight and size restrictions (most items were in the $60 dollar range) So if you like a flea market vibe and aren't afraid of less wealthy areas- it is for you- not a flea bag- just kind of run down. I have stayed in worse. The bed was pretty small - a full? They called it a single. And there may be corn dog crumbs in it now. I was hungry and drunk and the nearby BK was too scary a walk.
