Itaca Hotel Jerez - جيريز دي لا فرونتيرا

Itaca Hotel at Jerez is very conveniently located within 5-10 minutes of the train and bus stations. The only bus to Jerez from Granada on Easter Saturday arrived at 11.30 pm. A friend had called the hotel to explain my late arrival time, and the staff had no problem with this. When i arrived in Jerez, I could see no taxis. With the assistance of a bus passenger who pointed out which road i needed to take, I walked from the station to the hotel and felt completely safe. The Domingo de Pascua (Easter Sunday) processions all happened within a kilometer or so of the hotel, so the location was great. There are also many great cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, as well as key places of interest to visit. Jerez was my favourite city in Spain, and I would definitely stay at the Itaca Hotel again.

nice hotel. the service is not so good. One of the the 2 parking places situated in front of the entrance is permanently ocupated with a white seat station propriety of a hotel employee.

I have definitly paid much more for far less. This hotel was very nice, and clean and stylish for an extremely good price.

I got a good feeling as soon as i entered the hotel. the person at the reception was very helpful guided us well on what to see. everything is within walking distance. I would definately recommend the hotel

Booked on the recommendation of a friend and not disappointed. Booked room only, for one night, so can not comment on quality of food. Ideally situated for centre of Jerez 10 min walk from main square. Twin bedroom with plenty of character. Hotel has a lot of charm both inside and out. Staff very friendly and their English was much better than my Spanish! You have to pay 11 Euros for parking in nearby underground car park that is 5 mins walk from hotel (you get a swipe card that you place against the ticket machine to gain entry) but this was only a minor inconvenience compared to the overall location of the hotel. For the price paid this was a good deal and made our stay in Jerez very enjoyable.

The hotel was a very pleasant surprise, the modern interior contrasting with the outer facade and local area. Very quiet a great place to unwind after festivities. The location close to the local shopping areas and sights make this a great base for discovering Jerez, convenient to the motorway network also.

Jerez is a small city, so central location is relatively easy to accomplish. This hotel is a short walk from the train station, and we arrived without any trouble. This hotel was a great find, at a fraction of the usual price. We saw a price list for the room and almost fainted.. so make sure you go for the discount!

good hotel, good value. good location from town centre,and to bus and train. good breakfast. If you use google to look for it, it was called Barcelo group.- do not be confused

Friendly and helpful front desk, wonderful service! The staff here really what made our stay at the Itaca a positive experience, they really make you feel comfortable and at ease. The rooms are starting to get a bit tired now, and I imagine that a refurbishment won't be far off as it seems t have been bought recently by a chain, but they are still nice and clean. The main issue we had was that we couldn't get the shower over the bath working, and ended up changing rooms about 4 times that evening until we (and the concierge) gave up and moved into a shower only room. I am sure the first few showers did work, it is just that neither us nor the hotel concierge could work out how. But it was all dealt with in such a pleasant and friendly manner, that it is difficult to hold it against them. The beds are a bit odd, as they have a tedency of sliding forward on the wooden floor if you lean against the headboard, but comfortable enough. The location is brilliant, very close to town with a nice plaza nearby, the only thing that isn't that close is the equestrian school and the bullring, but distances in Jerez are never that far.

Front desk lady was extremely friendly and helpful (and good looking - according to my husband...). Cool modern decor.

Very nice hotel -- extremely convenient for those wanting to see sights and are traveling by train

This was a nice hotel, but is VERY difficult to find. The maps are vague and lead you to small, one-way, curvy streets that are poorly named. There are a number of hotel signs for OTHER hotels - and none for Itaca. The only sign for this hotel is on the actual door, so we found it on foot by walking through the streets. Not the most accomodating. I'm also giving it 3 stars because during breakfast, I found a little worm in my dried fruit. The breakfast was this wonderful selection of foods, however, I think some were left out uncovered. Lastly, the air conditioning did not work well during the 90+ temperature days. I would recommend this hotel for the area/location, which was convenient, as well as for its beauty, as a modern hotel in what appeared to be the remains of an old church. Also, I recommend staying here in the winter - in the summer - stay somewhere else!

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed Jerez and the hotel very much. The location is excellent, 10 mins walk to the train and bus station and 5 mins from the centre with plenty of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was great, rooms comfortable, modern and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful - all in all a very good hotel for leisure or business traveller. The only thing thats missing to make it perfect is a pool!

In many ways the standards in this hotel are very good and I would recomend it. Location could not be bettered, so close to public transport and also the centre ( few minutes walk from each). The room was clean and comfortable; not very spacious but certainly adequate. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fairly expensive for the variety available but this was not really an issue. My main disappointment has come from my own carelessness in leaving behind a couple of items one of which was a necklace of coloured pearls. It is interesting that the hotel tell me they found the phone charger but not the necklace and this has rather spoiled the memory for me.

This was a very good stopover on our journey from Faro to Gibraltar. Having made the booking online I had some reservations about the hotel's write up but the real thing proved to be much better than the impression given. The staff were friendly and helpful and the central location made it an ideal place to break the journey. The only minor niggle was that the hotel restaurant was closed for the evening due to a wedding reception. However the alternative eating spot recommended by reception, a short walking distance away, turned to be a sumptious dinner. I would certainly stay at The Barcelo again without hesitation.

a good location, 2-3 minutes walk to the centre of the old town. don't be out off by the drive to the hotel as you will go through a modern(ish) industrial area! once inside you can relax. good breakfast.

Jeg var meget tilfreds med hotellet som havde en god beliggenhed 5 min. gang fra centrum af Jerez. De ansatte udøvede en forrygende service og alt i alt var det en god oplevelse.

電車でヘレス入りした旅行者にとっては、駅からも歩ける距離です。スーツケースがあってもがんばれます。小さい街なので目抜き通りはもちろん、馬術学校やSandemanの工場までホテルから徒歩圏内です。Googleでアドレスから調べた場合は場所が若干違っているので注意してください。私は街の人に聞いてたどり着きました。行ってみるととてもわかりやすいところにありました。 設備は問題ありません。清潔で静かで、Wifiも無料です。水まわりも問題なし。またぜひ利用したいです。

L'hotel est très difficile à trouver, car pas de panneau indicateur. Il a changé de nom récemment et nous avons tourné en voiture plus d'une 1/2 heure avant de la trouver car les personnes auxquelles nous avons demandé ne le connaissait pas. Il faut IMPERATIVEMENT flécher l'itinéraire

de part sa situation pres du centre ville sans les inconvenients du bruit cet hotel est parfait dans un decor chaleureux et une prestation a la hauteur de ses etoiles

Commentaires généraux: rénovation moderne d'un ancien établissement religieux. Matériaux de mauvaise qualité, nombreuses finitions bâclées. Salle de petit déjeuner exigüe, inconfortable avec tables bancales. Très tape-à-l'oeuil. Pas d'accès à la terrasse. Aucune prestation accessoire (par ex. salle de sport , sauna, piscine, etc.) digne d'un 4 étoiles. Globalement, l'hôtel serait plutôt un 3 étolies. Accueil non professionnel, car personnel déconcentré. Chambres: climatisation non efficace (erreur de concept). Produits de toilette insuffisants. Chambres mal insonorisées. Odeur de cigarettes dans chambre non fumeur. Pomme de douche non stable. Point positif: bien situé.
