Hulhule Island Hotel - جزر المالديف

Worth the extra dollars if you arrive late into Male and are departing early to your resort or next destination. Good breakfast buffet with wide international selection.

The hotel has garnered mixed ratings, probably based on mixed expectations and the relatively high cost. First, this is not a resort Hotel. It is simply a convienent transit Hotel or perhaps a Business Hotel to see clients in Male. Those expecting even the least "resort" nature to it will be disappointed. As a transit hotel, it is relatively clean, serves a decent buffet breakfast, and staff are generally friendly. There is a small beach and some limited recreational facilities to while away the time until leaving for a true resort or the airport for departure. Costs in the Maldives are high, so while many hav argued about their "captive" experience, the room costs are fairly consistent with the uplifted resort costs that are seen. My advice is to accept the hotel for what it is mainly for (transit/business), and try to suppress your inner voice that will constantly compare (and complain about) the cost of things in the Maldives to home. Its a beautiful place to visit, and cost are just part of thje program. So summing up the Hulhule, it is a Motel 6 for the Maldives, nothing more, and nothing less.

Hulhule is your only choice on the airport island. No competition implies no need to compete on service levels and comfort. Though we had explicitly asked and asked twice for a non-smoking room during reservation, at check-in we were taken to a smoking room that stank. We argued and we were then given a non-smoking room. The rooms are pretty basic. Nothing much to write about. The room cost us about 75% of what we paid at the Vivanta by Taj Coral Reef, but the service levels were only 25% of what we experienced at the Taj. Again. You don't really have a choice of hotels. All you can do is to put-up with the mediocrity.

This is the only hotel in Male you do not need to get a boat to. It is very convenient from that aspect. In addition the hotel iteslf is very nice and the breakfast had a huge variety set overlooking the water. The bar was also a welcome relief as we landed at night! Overall a very good hotel that I would recommend to anyone in transit to and from a Maldives resort.

Ligger 2 minutters kjøretur fra flyplassen - behangelig ifm med ankomst/avgang. Shuttlebus til/fra flysplassen og til/fra Male inngår. Fin hage, med bassengområde og liten "strand" Sundownerterrasse med fin utsikt mot sjøen og Male. Flere spisesteder fra poolrestuarant til den fine restauranten i toppetasjen. God mat, men noe stive priser. Støy fra flyplassen (fly som tar av og lander) Gjester som bare trenger ett sted å være i noen timer i påvente av flyavgang, kan bruke pool/dusjer mot en godtgjørelse. Litt smådyrt, men såååå mye mer behagelig enn å vente på flyplassen. Dagrom tilbys også
