We stayed at the hotel berna for 3 nights n thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean n quiet (even though we r along a street). Breakfast spread was excellent n service was just commendable. Very helpful n attentive to our needs! Highly recommend this place to stay in Milan!

very easy to get to from the Milano Centrale station on foot. Also close to the trollies which make easy to get around town. Great breakfast buffet. And the largest shower I saw in Italy.

Hotel Berna delivers 5-star service with their highly responsive front-desk/ customer service, free room upgrade, free wifi, free minibar and excellent breakfast. The room's are comfortable and well cleaned. The rooms are as I unfortunately had to experience also quite adapt at blocking out sound from the noisy budget visitors that are attracted by the great value that this hotel offers. The location is a 20min walk from the old city center but through the very efficient Milan public transport system (metro stop practically in front of the hotel) this does not negatively affect the location rating. on the 3min walk from central station to the hotel you will come across the occasional homeless man.

We only stayed at Hotel Berna for two nights, but we enjoyed the experience. The staff speak excellent English and went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay enjoyable. Also, while the neighborhood might look a bit sketchy, rest assured that's how most neighborhoods looks in Italy! :) And there are several nice/affordable restaurants nearby. Just ask at the front desk. Also, since the hotel is right next to a Metro line, accessing the center of the city is easy (and Metro only costs 1.5 Euro each way).

Hotel was great,staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast to wake up too :)

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night. The service and friendliness of the check-in staff is fantastic. He made us feel very welcome. We are also very surprised that we are able to customise the room to our needs such as having the type of pillow, towels and drinks etc, We were also delighted that the hotel provides fast speed internet as well as compilmentary drinks. The buffet breakfast is a sumptuous spread. I specially love the hot chocolate which is thick and delicious! We were given a room on 2nd level beside the lift. It is abit noisy when other guests walk in and out of the lift. The room is small but cosy. Bed is comfortable. Overall, we are glad and satified that we have stayed with Hotel Berna. =)

Home from home lovely friendly happy staff. Breakfast to die for :) 5 minutes walk to the train station and 2 minutes to the subway. A jewel in Milan

This hotel is highly recommened. Close to train station and many restaurants. Frienly staff and great breakfast. I needed an iron and they instantly brought one up to the room. Small refrigator with drinks and snacks at no extra charge. Great hotel would stay again.

Room appearance & service is good but the location of the hotel is poor. The good thing about it is it's close to all public transportation.

Hotel Berna is conveniently located near Milan train station and a metro station. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby. A super market is also within walking distance. We stayed in the building across the street from the lobby. The security seems really tight (with an airlock-type, two layered security door). However, the hotel room air con is impossible to adjust, and it can become incredibly warm. The room is also quite small. The breakfast is good, with many food options. One of the best surprises is that the content in the mini-fridge in the room is complimentary. I wish more hotels would do this. The service is responsive. The neighborhood, however, is a little seedy. There are many massage parlors nearby, and it feels unsafe walking around at night.

Hotel service is excellent . Location is good, easy access to anywhere. Breakfast is great. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We definitely will choose to stay here in our next shopping trip.

The staff were very kind. The room was not fancy but nice and sufficiently pleasant to stay. The breakfast was very good. The room has some defect (the shower head was broken) but did not bother me seriously. The price was a bit high but it's in Milan.

Very good hotel. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Hotel is located roughly 5 mins walk from the main train station. The hotel is in a nice area, considering most main train stations aren't the best areas to be based near. Very child friendly, clean, and the staff were the best I've had dealings with. Totally recommend.

Very easy access for airport shuttle bus and metro station. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Breakfast is fab - wide variey of food available - even a juicer.

The pros far out-weigh the cons here. The hotel is VERY conveniently located. Close to both the Centrale train station and the Metro giving you immediate access to the main sites of Milan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent and bountiful free breakfast. Free WiFi. Downside: very small bathroom with only a small shower stall. If your room is located on the street side, you may experience some loud noise from garbage trucks in the dead of night. We did, twice. Woke me up but my wife slept through it. We stayed only one night so I can't say how common this is. Tip: ask for room off the main street.

Great Hotel with excellent service. We booked a double room and were very happy with the standard. Flat screen tv, Free soft drinks in the mini bar and a large bathroom with bath and shower - very clean. The only downside was the hot water wasn't very hot in the morning time. Breakfast was included in our room and there was a large selection of juices, fruit, pastries and the staff are happy to provide any coffee you like. It is very close to the central station and metro takes just 10mins to Duomo or the main shopping areas. There are a restaurants in the area but not much nightlife. would definitely stay here if visiting Milan again

I stayed three nights and found that the hotel is very much convenient and staffs are extremely kind. I strongly suggest.

Service and facilities are brilliant. Location is close to train, restaurants. Staff were very helpful with booking meals etc and all spoke great English. Breakfast is to die for!

A perfect hotel, no matter for the room conditions, services, location, etc. If for super picky person, I would only say the breakfast is very good, but can add some more hot dishes.

The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best with a wide spread. We stayed for 4 days. My teen kids and I look forward to the breakfast every morning.

Front desk staff provided excellent service. Had problems retrieving my pre-paid SIM card phone number as it was all in Italian which I could not understand. Staff went out of their way to ensure that the problem was resolved swiftly.

We stayed at this beautifully appointed hotel for two nights. The survey that you complete before going to this hotel is a nice touch. You can pick out your drinks that will be free (unless it's beer), room temp, bedding. I booked 2 rooms and asked for similar firmness in mattresses. The mattress in my room was too hard. One call and they were up in 5 minutes, took me to their storeroom to pick out a mattress topper and put it on my bed. Bathroom door gets jammed, they are up in 5 minutes. Computer doesn't work, well that was at 5am so I did have to wait for the technician because it was an internet problem. You will never find a breakfast like this! Phenomenal! I have never seen so much good quality food/drinks on a buffet. This group even packed us a breakfast so we could make a 7 am train to Venice. A word of warning though. It is a piece of fruit, basically crackers, water, jams, nutella and cookie type stuff that is prepackaged. You will not receive pastries or anything off their breakfast buffet and of course we lost a great breakfast (and paid a good bit for it) by leaving before the buffet opened but that was our choice. The croissants/cookies and coffee/tea placed during the day was wonderful. It is also a 5 minute walk from the train station which for me was a bonus, not to mention a to die for pizza/Italian place down the street. My son was in heaven and ate there with my husband twice. I would stay there in a heartbeat if we ever go back to Milan. One thing I would like to mention for soccer fans: for 20 Euro there is a stadium tour where AC Milan and InterMilan play. Going into the locker room, going on the field and visiting their museum was the highlight of my son's trip. There are also 20 Euro shopping tours that go outside the city to the outlets for the day but don't return until 6 pm. Our flight unfortunately was 6pm that day so we didn't get to go, but she found outlets in town and even when we went past an Armani coat store, she was able to hagg

We could not have been more pleased with the service and attention. My wife forgot her cell phone in the room and did not discover this until we returned to USA 3 weeks later; Hotel had to phone and mailed it to us. That's the kind of personal attention they gave.

The Berna is ideally located on the Metro a few stops from everything. Room was good except perhaps for the smallish shower. The staff was wonderful:helpful and very friendly. Great bar with evening snacks, adequate for a light dinner after a normal (i.e., big) Italian lunch.

Hotel staffs were all nice and friendly. Room was very clean. Station is only a few miniutes walk. I will stay this hotel again.

Stayed her for only one night but found the staff very friendly and helpful, the room in excellent condition and location, close to Milan Central, perfect for my early departure to Switzerland.

The hotel is near the central station of Milano. Opposite to the hotel is a nice restaurant which operates until 2 am. There are free drinks in the room and the breakfast is great. However, the shower space is so small that you can hardly turn around.

We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Berna. It is very well located, in the nice area close to the train central station and half a block from a subway station. The staff is really helpful and make your experience even better. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel Berna has excellent service, great breakfast and well appointed rooms. I particularly enjoyed the new rooms in the building in front of the hotel entrance. I definitely recommend the hotel Berna, excellent value for money.

This hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the main train station in Milan. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to the tourist attractions of Milan, like the Duomo, La Scala, etc. The area seemed safe and was quiet. The hotel itself was well-run. The check-in staff were friendly. The hotel room was well-appointed and clean. The washrooms were fine. All of the non-alcoholic beverages in the room fridge are free (there were no alcoholic ones anyways so it would hard to be confused). That was a nice perk. Overall, we were happy with the hotel given the hotels.com price that we paid, and would recommend it to others.

The Berna is just across the square from Centrale, which is very convenient if not right in the city centre. Our room was nicely decorated and maintained, if a little small. But the hotel's strongest point is service: the staff were so friendly and very helpful. Excellent breakfast buffet.

This is a great hotel! I stayed only for one night. The service was great! Staff are nice and always wear a smile on their faces. Room is clean, tidy and comfortable. I will definitely book it again if I come to Milan! I even got my room upgraded:)

Hotel Berna, Milan - excellent hotel. Spotlessly clean. Our room was warm and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered a wide ranging buffet, including gluten free options which was very welcome. Only 200 yards from Central Station - very handy for the airport bus. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel Berna is conveniently located-near the Centrale train station in Milan, about 5 to 10 mins walk. Hotel is clean and bed linen is nice and crisp, though the room is not spacious. Staff at reception is warm and helpful, better than the impersonal staff some of the more expensive hotels in Italy. The free wi fi in room really works unlike some of the other Italian hotels or bed and breakfast I stayed in. A plus point is that there are about 4 computers at the reception areas for internet access and there are 2 printers with papers for printing - very useful for printing out the boarding pass after my internet check in for my flight home. The only glitch is that as we had an early flight to catch, we had breakfast packed for takeaway as we had to checkout earlier than the breakfast commencement time. We only found out that there were only a bottle of water, a pack of juice and some biscuits (no fresh bread or sandwiches) when we had time for breakfast at the airport. However, we did notice a good breakfast spread the day before when we checked into the hotel. So if you do not have time for a sit down breakfast, if possible try to give yourself a few minutes to pack your own breakfast instead of leaving it to the hotel.

Hotel in good location. Very near to the train station. Staff in breakfast room were very efficient and friendly. Delicious breakfast with fresh juices and very good cuppicino.

from hotels.com website - picked the middle option - standard plus. the room was teeny teeny tiny and right next to elevator and extremely noisy. Although all reviews spoke about friendly helpful staff, I found the front desk with the exception of the manager cold and unhelpful. On the morning of checkout, cleaning staff knocked twice at my room - a hint? The first was before 9am and the second only 45 minutes later.

We had stayed at Hotel Berna before, about ten years before. We picked it because of price and location. We were to be in Milan only overnight to catch a flight the next morning. We found the hotel had been renovated since our last stay. It was very nice, comfortable, secure (the area around the central train station is not the best), convenient to the station (walking distance, with luggage), and the staff were most helpful, courteous, and attentive. It exceeded our expectations and we are happy to recommend it to others.

This hotel was a great deal for the money! Very clean, recently remodeled bathroom, free wi-fi, free breakfast! The staff were very nice and helpful, they made me feel very welcome and the room had everything you need, including free non alcoholic mini bar and cookies!

We stayed in the hotel during September 2011. We really like the room, although the room is not that big but the condition was very good. The hotel staffs were very helpful and service minded. We particularly liked the bartender guy, named Max, he made us great drinks and we really did enjoy his friendship. The location is quite convenience only short walk to train station.
