Microtel Birmingham Gardendale - جاردنديل

I was very pleased. It's not a big, super fancy motel, but looks fairly new. It was clean and the beds are very comfortable. The room has a refrigerator and microwave, iron and blow dryer, TV and internet. They will accomodate smokers (like me) and even pets. There's a good coffee machine in the lobby. There is a Ryan's Steakhouse at the edge of the parking lot and several other good resturants nearby. There is a shopping center with a WalMart next door. Downtown Birmingham is 8.5 miles away. When I have business in Birmingham, I'll stay at the Microtel in Gardendale.

The hotel was very clean and location was great. The price of the hotel was great also .

There was only 2 small complaints, over all, visit was very good. The room smelt musty, which was quickly solved with a deodorizing spray, but we were a little irritated that we had to eat breakfast out all weekend. The continental breakfast was not filled. It said service until 9:30. We woke up at 8 sat & sun & had to go to McDonald's both days. Monday, after all the other guests had left, it was fine, but weekends, it wasn't.

We stayed at this hotel as pit stop en route to the east coast. The pool is small, the rooms are old, and because they allow smoking (or had allowed smoking) in the hotel, it does smell of cigarette smoke. However, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and large enough to accommodate my family of 5 -- so it was perfect for our overnight stop. The breakfast is minimal, but you can afford a stop somewhere with the money save by staying here!

This is an average hotel. Nothing exciting, no amazing amenities. And that was fine for our needs. The bathroom wasn't awful, but could have been cleaned a little better in the corners. Lots of restaurants close by, Walmart next door. Easy to find, right by interstate. Pool looked clean and inviting. No problems with noise. We didn't eat breakfast but several people were each day. Staff were polite. Only spoke with them on check in and check out and were able to accomplish without difficulty. Would stay here again.

The room was covered with a thin oily film that was hard to wash off. The carpets seemed very filthy because of this thin film. The staff was there to do their duty..but there was no desire to extend themselves to provide an excellent customer service experience. Fresh linens and clean bathrooms. Room, Staff & service needs improvement.

The cost for one night was a little steep for the accomodations that I got. My phone did not work in the room, the air would not turn on and the desk clerk stated that she did not know how to flip the breaker to get it to work so I was forced to 'crack' the window. As I was trying to cool off I felt something on me and it was a bug in the bed with me. I was so overwhelmed at this point I turned in my key and left.

Great place to stay if you are on your way to Florida. We stopped here for an overnight stay because of it's location right off I-65. Clean and comfortable. Kids enjoyed the pool after being on the road for 7 hours. Good breakfast. Will stay here again.
